Don Coss and Crusher Stasiak open the program.
Coss, “Welcome fans, what a night it’s going to be at the ‘House of Action’! We have great matches including an exciting main event. Finally we will talk about the big ‘Portland Special’, and we will announce the two men who, on September 5, will meet for the Pacific Northwest Championship. What about it Crusher?”
Stasiak, “I have my ideas about who should wrestle on the 5th, but I’ll keep that to myself.”
Coss, “Let’s get things underway with Don Owen.”
Match #1
Ricky Vaughn vs. Avenger I
Vaughn, a Portland native, has been very impressive. The mysterious Avenger is a tough guy. The bell rings and we are underway. Avenger is very aggressive, and he controls the early moments. The crowd gets behind Vaughn. He rallies and wins with a drop kick. A very popular outcome.
Winner- Ricky Vaughn
Match #2
The Midnight Soldier vs. Vince Torelli
Two youngsters meet here. The Soldier has become very popular. Torelli is skilled, and very aggressive. The match is hard hitting. Torelli has the quickness advantage and he uses it. The Soldier takes over with his strength. He hits a heart punch for the win.
Winner- The Midnight Soldier
Crusher Stasiak is with Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express.
Stasiak, “With me are Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express. Mr. Cornette, your men meet Furnas and LaFon for the tag titles at the ‘Portland Special’. Are you ready?”
Cornette, “Stasiak, I see you came right from the circus without changing your clothes. Of course we’re ready! Furnas and LaFon have been over in Japan beating up guys that weigh 97 pounds! Now they have to deal with Bobby and Stan, and let me tell you this, it’s not going to end well for you two!”
Stasiak, “Mr. Cornette has a big mouth, but he’s got a good tag team.”
Match #3
The Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette vs. Billy Two Eagles and CW Bergstrom
Cornette grabs the mic from Owen.
Cornette, “Here let me have that, you’re missing ‘Lawrence Welk’! Ladies, and Gentlemen, let me introduce to you, the soon to be tag team champions, Beautiful Bobby, and Sweet Stan, the Midnight Express!”
Bobby starts with Two Eagles. Eaton is as skilled as anyone in the sport. He takes the Indian down, and wrestles him. Billy is talented as well, and he holds his own. Lane tags in, and takes control. Two Eagles tags in Bergstrom, but he fares no better. The ME uses the doubke goozle for the win. Cornette’s team looks ready to win the title.
Winners- The Midnight Express
Match #4
Hercules vs. Bret Sawyer
The muscular Hercules takes on the veteran. Sawyer tries to hit and run. It works and Herc is frustrated. He goes to the power moves, and now he’s in control. Bret puts up a good fight, but Hercules slaps on the full Nelson. Bret fights it, but has to submit.
Winner- Hercules
Crusher Stasiak is with Rip “The Crippler” Oliver and Bad Company.
Stasiak, “With me are the new ‘Clan’. Bad Company has a top reputation in the sport, I am sure they will be waiting for a shot at the tag titles.”
Oliver, “That’s right Stasiak. I only have the best in my organization. Pat Tanaka and Paul Diamond are two of the best, and Bad Company is a contender for any tile on the sport.”
Stasiak, “Now on to you Mr. Oliver. Later tonight, we will announce who will wrestle for the Northwest Title. I’m sure you expect to be one of the men chosen.”
Oliver, “Of course I’ll be picked. It doesn’t matter who else is there. I’m winning the title, and the fans will have to deal with it.”
Stasiak, “Bad Company is in the ring next.”

Bad Company vs. The Simpson Brothers
Two new teams debut. Tanaka and Diamond are very athletic, and have been around the wrestling world. The Simpson Brothers, from South Africa, are a fine young team. Tanaka starts with Steve. Both men are quick and athletic. Pat uses martial arts, and Steve is in retreat. He is backed into the corner. The crowd gets behind Steve, and he fights his way out of the corner. Now Pat is in retreat. He tags in Diamond. The former soccer player. Takes the fight to Steve. He tags in his younger brother. Shaun is very talented, but Diamond’s experience shows. He hits a super kick for the win.
Winners- Bad Company
Match #6
Jimmy “The Superfly” Snuka vs. Grappler II
Now we know there are two Grapplers. Snuka and his cousin, the Tonga Kid, are locked in this feud. The veteran Snuka starts fast. He has the masked man on the run. Grappler II fires back. Now we have a brawl. Grappler I comes to ringside. This can’t be a good situation. Tonga comes down to even the odds. Snuka slams II, and climbs to the top rope. I pushes Snuka off, and he falls into the ring. Referee Sandy Barr calls for the bell. Tonga Kid goes after both Grapplers. Snuka gets to his feet and joins the fight. It takes wrestlers from the back to separate all four men.
Winner- Jimmy Snuka (Disqualification)
Don Coss is in the Crow’s Nest.
Coss, “Fans, September 5 is fast approaching. Our first ‘Portland Special’ will be here at the Sports Arena. Both Northwest Championships will be decided that night. For the tag team titles, Jim Cornette’s Midnight Express will take on Doug Furnas and Phil LaFon. These are two of the top tag teams in the world, in our main event, the Pacific Northwest Singles title will be decided. We are ready to announce the two men who will battle it out. First, a Northwest legend, one of the most dangerous men in the sport, Rip ‘The Crippler’ Oliver.
Oliver comes out.
Coss, “Mr. Oliver, congratulations.”
Oliver, “Save the congratulations Coss. Everyone knows I’m the best in the business. Don Owen should just hand the title over to me.”
Coss, “No, you’re going to have to wrestle. As a matter of fact, you are going to wrestle this man.”
Billy Jack Haynes comes out. Oliver looks shocked!
Coss, “Billy Jack Haynes!”
The program ends with a stare down, and the crowd going crazy!
