Marc Lowrance is seated in the studio.
Lowrance, “Hello fans, and welcome to ‘Saturday Night Thunder’ the newest thing in professional wrestling. Every Saturday night, at 11:30, we will come to you on ESPN. We have the greatest stars in the sport. For the next 90 minutes we will introduce some of those stats. Let’s go to our announce team, Craig Johnson, and ‘The American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes.
Johnson, “Welcome to the ‘Thunderdome’! The WWA is on the air. The man next to me needs no introduction, the ‘American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes!”
Rhodes, “Thank you Craig Johnson, the ‘Dream’ is nationwide on ESPN baby! What a night it’s going to be, lots of clubbering gonna’ happen!”
Johnson, “You are correct Dusty. We have seven big matches tonight, all of them a potential main event, and speaking of main events, let’s talk about tonight’s. Black Bart, one of the toughest men in the sport, meets one of the biggest names in the sport.”
Rhodes, “‘The Dream’ is one of the biggest names in wrestling, but this man is right up there!”
Johnson, “Don’t ruin the surprise. Let’s go to Marc Lowrance and get things underway.”
Match #1
Kevin Von Erich and the Patriot vs. “Hollywood” John Tatum and “Maniac” Mike Davis
The popular Texan and the masked man take on the flamboyant Tatum, and the crazy Davis. Kevin starts and is very sharp and the Thunderdome crowd is solidly behind him. Tatum goes to the underhanded tactics. Kevin overcomes them, and Davis. The “Maniac” uses his underhanded tactics to slow Von Erich. The Patriot tags in and goes to work. He hits the Patriot missile for the win. This is a top tag team.
Winner- Kevin Von Erich and the Patriot
Match #2
Scott Putski vs. Rex King
The popular second generation wrestler meets the game King. The action is fast paced and both men wrestle by the rules. King has his chances, but Putski wins with a high crossbody.
Winner- Scott Putski
Marc Lowrance is with General Skandor Akbar, Moadib, the Angel of Death, and the Jurassic Powers.
Lowrance, “With me is one of the most devious men in wrestling General Skandor Akbar. General Akbar, you assembled quite a group.”
Akbar, “It’s an ‘Army’ Lowrance, an Army. The Angel of Death who is my personal bodyguard. Moadib, ‘The Nubian Terror’. Is the most dangerous man in wrestling, and my tag team, Hercules and the Barbarian, the ‘T-Rex Brothers’! We will dominate the WWA!”
Lowrance, “Later in the program we will talk about the titles in the WWA, any of Akbar’s men are threats to any title in the world. Now let’s see the ‘T-Rex Brothers’ in action.”
Match #3
The T-Rex Brothers w/General Skandor Akbar and the Angel of Death vs. Marc Valiant and Iceman King Parsons
The Terminator and the Barbarian are massive. Parsons starts with the Terminator. Iceman uses his speed to hit and run, and it confuses Akbar’s men. The General shouts instructions from ringside. The Terminator traps Parsons in the corner. Iceman is able to escape and tag in Valiant. Marc is very muscular, but he’s no match from the T-Rex Brothers. The Barbarian tags in and beats Valiant with the big boot. Akbar has two monsters on his side.
Winners- The T-Rex Brothers
Match #4
Moadib w/General Skandor Akbar vs. Jimmy Jack Funk
This will be a brawl. Moadib, the “Nubian Terror”, is a monster. Funk, from the famous Double Cross Ranch, is simply crazy. The bell rings and we are underway. Both men tear into one another. There are kicks and punches, but few actual wrestling moves. Both men have their moments. Moadib clamps a cross face on Funk. JJ fights it, but eventually submits. Moadib makes a very tough man give up!
Winner- Moadib
Marc Lowrance is with “Playboy” Gary Hart, the Great Kabuki, and the One Man Gang.
Lowrance, “We all know this man, ‘Playboy’ Gary Hart, welcome to the WWA.”
Hart, “Marc Lowrance, you know me better than anyone. You know I only associate with winners. When the WWA was formed, they asked me to join. I bought two friends with me, the ‘Boogie Man’ from the streets of Singapore, and from Halsted Street in Chicago, ‘Moon’ the One Man Gang.”
Lowrance, ‘These Two men are threats to any title in the WWA, and to any man in the organization.”
Hart, “I want to say one thing, I see old Dusty Rhodes sitting over there. Rhodes, we know each other very well…don’t turn your back on me.”
The camera pans to Rhodes. He starts to get up, but Craig Johnson convinces him to stay at the deal.
Lowrance, “The One Man Gang is in action next.”
Match #5
The One Man Gang w/“Playboy” Gary Hart vs. Brickhouse Brown
The massive Gang is very impressive. Brickhouse is very muscular, but he gives up a lot of size. Brown uses his speed to confuse OMG. Hart instructs “Moon” from ringside. The Gang catches Brick, and slams him. Gang goes to the second rope and hits the 747 splash for the win. “Moon”, and Hart, have arrived in the WWA.
Winner- One Man Gang
Match #6
The Simpson Brothers vs. Bobby Duncum Jr. and Big John Hawk w/Buddy Roberts
Two good, young, tag teams do battle. The Simpsons, from South Africa, are very popular especially with the young ladies. Former Freebird Buddy Roberts has two tough Texans on his team. The action is fast and furious. Both teams tag in and out. Hawk uses his size to trap Shaun in the corner. The younger Simpson escapes and tags in Steve. The action continues until all four men end up in the ring. Referee James Beard cannot control the action, and calls for the bell. He disqualifies both teams.
Result- Double Disqualification
Mac Lowrance is seated in the studio.
Lowrance, “Fans, the first taste of the WWA has been exciting, and our main event is still coming. We have many great wrestlers, but we don’t have any Champions. We will solve that issue in the coming weeks. The WWA will recognize two titles, the World Championship, and the World Tag Team Championship. When will these titles be filled? It all happens on September 10. We will be at the Los Angeles Sports Arena for ‘Thunderstruck ‘93’. The great thing about this show is that people all over the country will be able to see it. The event will be broadcast on Pay per View. You will be able to watch this show from the comfort of your living room. Stay tuned to WWA television for ordering instructions. Let’s go back to the action, and see our mystery wrestler.”
Black Bart waits in the ring. We hear,
Dusty Rhodes stands up at the announce desk.
Rhodes, “Hulk Hogan! Craig Johnson, Hulk Hogan is in the WWA! The ‘Hulkster’ is here!”
Bart dives out of the ring. Hogan tears off his T-shirt. The crowd goes crazy. Bart climbs back in the ring. Hogan controls the action. Bart goes to the underhanded tactics and it slows Hogan. The crowd gets behind him, and he “Hulks Up”! Hogan slams Bart, and hits the legdrop. Referee James Beard counts the fall! Hulk Hogan is here!
Winner- Hulk Hogan
Craig Johnson and Dusty Rhodes close the show.
Johnson, “Dusty, what a surprise!”
Rhodes, “I told you, Craig Johnson, I told you! Hulk Hogan is here! Just like the Dream, the man is one of the best!”
Johnson, “The action is going to be intense as we move forward. Join us next week for more action!”
