Coss, “Welcome to the ‘House of Action’. Crusher, we continue to have great action on the show, and we have seen some of the best wrestlers in the business.”
Stasiak, “Don, ‘Portland Wrestling’ is better than ever. Tonight is going to be just as exciting.”
Coss, “We will talk about the upcoming ‘Portland Special’. We will hear from Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express, and we have an exciting main event, the Grappler takes on the Tonga Kid. Last time we saw some strange behavior from the masked man. What will happen tonight? Let’s go to Don Owen.”
Match #1
Top Gun vs. Mike Davis
The masked Top Gun is well known in the area. He takes on one half of the RPMs. Both men trade holds and counter holds. Both men near falls. Top Gun seems to be getting the better of things. Davis gets in a few cheap shots, but Top Gun wins with a flying bodypress.
Winner- Top Gun
Match #2
DJ Peterson vs. “Mean” Mike Miller
The muscular Peterson takes on the rugged Miller. Mike is very vicious, and goes to work on Peterson. DJ fires back, and we have a brawl. Miller catches Peterson in the corner, and begins to choke him. Referee Sandy Barr counts, but Miller breaks at four. The crowd gets behind Peterson, and he fights his way out of the corner. DJ hits a diving shoulder that sends Miller to the mat. He covers him and Barr counts the fall.
Winner- DJ Peterson
Crusher Stasiak is with Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express.
Stasiak, “With me is Jim Cornette, and I’m going to regret this because I’m going to give him a chance to talk.”
Cornette, “That’s funny Stasiak, I see you’ve changed suits this week. Is this what they gave you when you got out of the big house?”
Stasiak, “Very funny Mr. Cornette. There is a lot of talk going on about the ‘Portland Special’ and the tag team titles. I’m sure you think your team should be in contention.”
Cornette, “First of all, I’ve been here a while and there’s nothing ‘special’ about Portland. That doddering old fool, Don Owen, better consider us for the titles. Bobby and Stan have beaten every great team in wrestling, they sure can beat the teams around here. On September 5, we’ll win those titles and keep them as long as we like.”
Stasiak, “He’s got a big mouth, but he’s also got a great tag team.”
Match #3
The Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette vs. Billy Two Eagles and Bret Sawyer
Cornette grabs the mic from Owen.
Cornette, “Here give me that, your oatmeal is getting cold. Ladies, and Gentlemen, let me introduce the first true male specimens the Northwest has seen in years, ‘Beautiful Bobby’, and ‘Sweet Stan’, the Midnight Express!”
Cornette’s tag team is one of the best in wrestling. Eaton starts for the Express against Sawyer. Bret has the experience to challenge Bobby. They exchange holds and counter holds. Things begin to go Bobby’s way, and Two Eagles tags in. He holds his own for a time. “Sweet Stan” tags in and goes to the martial arts. The action is exciting, and the MX wins with the rocket launcher.
Winners- The Midnight Express
Match #4
Hercules vs. Dutch Mantell
Strength vs. veteran guile. Herc uses his power to work over Mantell. Dutch slows the pace, and uses his wrestling skill to control the next few minutes. The match goes back and forth. Both men have their chances. Both men end up brawling on the arena floor. Referee Sandy Barr’s count reaches 10. Both men have been counted out.
Result- Double Count Out
Crusher Stasiak is with Rip “The Crippler” Oliver, and Bad Company.
Stasiak, “With me is Rip ‘The Crippler’ Oliver. Mr. Oliver, you aren’t alone.”
Oliver, “That’s right Stasiak. The most powerful thing in the Pacific Northwest was always ‘Oliver’s Clan’, and this is the Clan for the 90’s. We’ve got the top tag team in wrestling, that’s Bad Company, Pat Tanaka and Paul Diamond. We’re going to control this area, and it won’t take long.”
Stasiak, “That’s quite a lineup. Mr. Oliver is in our next match.”
Match #5
Rip “The Crippler” Oliver vs. Ricky Vaughn
Vaughn is a Portland native and a very good athlete. Oliver moves slowly, and Vaughn tries to speed things up. Ricky goes for a drop kick, but Rip blocks it. This allows “The Crippler” to hit the piledriver. He covers Vaughn for the win.
Winner- Rip Oliver
Don Coss is in the Crow’s Nest.
Coss, “Fans, once again the action at the Sports Arena is fantastic. We have announced that our first ‘Portland Special” is coming up on September 5. These events are a long standing tradition in this area. They are always exciting, and this one may be the best year. We had announced previously that both the Pacific Northwest Title, and the Northwest Tag Team Titles will be decided. Tonight, we can announce that the two teams who will wrestle for the tag titles I’ll be announced next week. There are many top tag teams in the area, or could it be a team we don’t know. Join us next week for the announcement. Our main event is next.”
Match #6
The Tonga Kid vs. The Grappler
Two weeks ago the Grappler upset Jimmy Snuka in a very strange manner. Tonight he faces off with Snuka’s cousin. Referee Sandy Barr calls for the bell. Tonga starts fast. He flies around the ring. The masked man takes to the floor to regroup. Grappler returns to the ring. He roughs up the Kid. Tonga is in trouble, and the crowd gets behind him. Tonga fires back. Now the Grappler is in retreat. Tonga goes for the sleeper. The Grappler is in the middle of the ring. Suddenly, another masked man hits the ring. He wears an identical mask to the Grappler. They both work over Tonga. Now Jimmy Snuka hits the ring. The “Superfly” comes to Tonga’s aid. All four men brawl. It takes several wrestlers from the back to pull them apart. We have two Grapplers!
Winner- Tonga Kid (Disqualification)
Don Coss closes the show.
Coss, “A second Grappler? That’s big news! The action in Portland gets hotter and hotter. Join us next week. We will announce the team teams who will wrestle for the tag team titles at the ‘Portland Special’. We also have a six man tag team main event, Col DeBeers’ Russians, Nikita Koloff, Nikolai Volkoff, and Boris Zhukov take on DJ Peterson, The Trooper, and the Midnight Soldier. What a match! Don’t miss it!”
