Don Coss and Stan Stasiak open the program.
Coss, “Welcome to the ‘House of Action’! Crusher, last week, we returned with a bang!”
Stasiak, “We did Don, and boy that Cornette has a big mouth.”
Coss, “He sure does. We have another great card tonight. Our main event features Rip ‘The Crippler’ Oliver. He’s well known in the Pacific Northwest. He takes on the talented Jesse Barr. Let’s get things started with Don Owen.”
Match #1
“Mean” Mike Miller vs. The Trooper
Miller is a veteran from LoRanger, LA. The Trooper is a popular young wrestler. Before the match the Trooper passes out plastic badges to the kids in the crowd. Both men start cautiously. Miller begins to rough up the bigger Trooper. The Trooper takes over and clamps on a bear hug. Miller fights it, but has to submit.
Winner- The Trooper
Match #2
The Midnight Soldier vs. Barry Horowitz
The Midnight Soldier is a mysterious wrestler. He is big and strong. He quickly uses his strength, and Horowitz tries to mat wrestle. That does not work, so he goes to the illegal tactics. The Soldier fights him off and hits a heart punch for the win.
Winner- The Midnight Soldier
Crusher Stasiak is with Doug Furnas and Phil LaFon.
Stasiak, “With are two of the finest tag team wrestlers in the world. Doug Furnas and Phil LaFon have been top stars in Japan, and now they are in the Pacific Northwest.”
Furnas, “Thanks Crusher. Phil and I are ready for whatever comes at us.”
Stasiak, ”Later tonight we will talk about titles, and we know tag team titles will be in the discussion.”
LaFon, “Doug and I are up for it. We’d love to be champions.”
Stasiak, “Let’s see them in action.”
Match #3
Doug Furnas and Phil LaFon vs. The Rock and Roll RPMs
LaFon starts for his side, Lane for his. Tommy can wrestle, and he shows it. LaFon matches him move for move. Furnas tags in, and uses his strength. Lane is in trouble and tags in Davis. The youngster tries to match Doug’s strength, but Furnas is too much. He uses a power slam for the win. Furnas and LaFon are top challengers for any tag title in the world.
Winners- Doug Furnas and Phil LaFon
Match #4
Hercules vs. Jerry Lynn
Strength vs. speed in this one. Hercules is one of the strongest men in the sport. Lynn is quick and athletic. Jerry starts fast, but Hercules stops him hold. He hammers away, and Jerry is in trouble. Lynn is very game, but Herc clamps on the full Nelson. Jerry fights it, but he submits.
Winner- Hercules
Coss, “Fans, it’s been a great night in the ‘House of Action’, and more excitement is coming up. We have a lot to talk about in the coming weeks. First and foremost, we don’t have any champions at this time. We are going to remedy that problem. One of the best known features around here are the ‘Portland Specials’. We have scheduled our first one. September 5 is the date at the Portland Sports Arena at 8725 North Chautauqua Boulevard. We will determine our champions on that night. We will determine the Pacific Northwest Singles Champion, and the Pacific Northwest Tag Team Championship. In the coming weeks we will announce how these titles will be determined. Stay tuned to ‘Portland Wrestling’.
Match #5
Bolsheviks w/Col DeBeers vs. Bret Sawyer and Ricky Vaughn
DeBeers leads his big Russians to the ring. Vaughn and Zhukov open the match. Ricky is very quick, and has Zhukov frustrated. DeBeers shouts instructions from ringside.Zhukov rallies and tags in Volkoff. The big veteran takes over. Vaughn tags in Sawyer. Bret is no match for Volkoff. He gets Bret up in a backbreaker, wins the match. After the match they cover Sawyer with the Russian flag. DeBeers has three monsters with him.
Winners- The Bolsheviks
Crusher Stasiak is with Rip “The Crippler” Oliver.
Stasiak, “With me is Rip ‘The Crippler’ Oliver. Mr. Oliver, you have been in this area before, and you have held many titles. We announced our plans for filling those titles. I’m sure You are interested.”
Oliver, “Darned right I’m interested. In fact, Don Owen should have given that Northwest Title over to me. Everyone knows I’ll win it, just save time and give it to me.”
Stasiak, “That’s not going to happen, but Oliver could very well win the title. He is in our main event next.”
Match #6
Rip “The Crippler” Oliver vs. Jesse Barr
Barr is from Portland, and was a national Greco-Roman champion. He is a good test for Oliver. The early moments go back and forth. Barr’s skill shows, and Oliver is in retreat. “The Crippler” fights back. Now Rip is in control. The match continues to pick up pace. Barr goes for the shoulder breaker. Rip blocks it, and gets Jesse up for a piledriver. He hits in and wins the fall. Rip Oliver is a top contender for any title in the Northwest.
Winner- Rip Oliver
Don Coss, and Crusher Stasiak close the show.
Coss, “Another night of excitement in Portland! Crusher, it gets better and better!”
Stasiak, “Don, I can’t believe the excitement.”
Coss, “Tune in next week, we have a fantastic main event, the young Tonga Kid meets the masked Grappler. Tonga is out for revenge for his mentor Jimmy Snuka. Don’t miss it!”
