THE NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE PRESENTS
TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION WRESTLING!
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4, 1996
BROADCAST ACROSS CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES ON NBC
ALL THE MATCHES ARE TAPED AT THE CENTRUM IN WORCESTER, MA
CHRIS CRUISE opens the show in a studio, and introduces his co-host, RAYMOND ROUGEAU.
CRUISE and ROUGEAU welcome us to another exciting episode of NWA TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION WRESTLING!
CRUISE says that they’ve changed the set-up of the show, as he and Rougeau will be hosting the show in this studio, with guests joining them throughout the program, and they’ll show matches that took place recently at the Centrum in Worcester, MA.
This week . . . King Kong Bundy meets Earthquake in an “Over the Top Rope” match, which is similar to a Battle Royal, the only way to win is to force your opponent over the top rope and to the floor . . . a new tag team on the scene, Public Enemy, will be in action against Rough n’ Ready . . . Virgil meets Doink the Clown . . . and the Cowboys will face the Heavenly Bodies in a non-title match!
A video is shown, highlighting the incident last week, where NWA World Champ Jeff Jarrett and NWA TV Champ Chris Candido insulted Ray Rougeau. Jarrett even offered Rougeau a job as a servant, and held up a french maid’s outfit, saying that French men are all sissies, and he suspects this wouldn’t be the first time Rougeau wore a maid’s outfit! This led to a brawl with Jacques Rougeau, with Steve Williams eventually joining Rougeau to even up the sides.

MATCH #1 – OVER THE TOP ROPE MATCH:
KING KONG BUNDY beats EARTHQUAKE. The only way to win the match is to throw your opponent over the top rope and to the floor. Quake and Bundy pummel each other for several minutes, neither man even attempts to try and throw the other over the top. Eventually, Bundy tries to get Quake over, but Quake holds on. The match ends when Bundy is leaning up against the ropes, and Quake bounces off the opposite ropes, and charges Bundy, attempting to clothesline him over the top. Bundy drops to his knees, and then lifts Quake up and over the top. Quake falls to the floor and Bundy is declared the winner.
CRUISE and ROUGEAU are joined in the studio by HARVEY WHIPPLEMAN, BIG VAN VADER, MORTIS and UNABOMB. Whippleman gloats about Vader showing up last week as the third member of his stable, and talks a little about the history between Vader and the Ultimate Warrior, saying that Vader has run Warrior out of more than one promotion in the past, and he’ll do it again in the NWA!
Mortis and Unabomb set up a full-sized cardboard cutout of the Ultimate Warrior. Mortis then throws a fireball at it, and the cut-out BURSTS INTO FLAMES!
Whippleman says that’s a sneak peak into the future of the Ultimate Warrior, and American Ace if he makes the mistake of standing by the Warrior!
Vader says that it’s VADER TIME, and the Ultimate Warrior’s days in the NWA are numbered!
We see a video of AMERICAN ACE and “MADE IN THE USA” MADUSA MICELI at Boston Children’s Hospital, visiting with the children.
Ini Kamoze’s “Here Comes the Hotstepper” brings Public Enemy to ring, dancing along with the song.
VS.
MATCH #2:
PUBLIC ENEMY (Rocco Rock & Johnny Grunge) beat ROUGH N’ READY (Dick Slater & Mike Enos). Public Enemy gets the win in a hard-fought match after Johnny Grunge slams Mike Enos, then Rocco Rock hits a somersault splash off the top rope for the pinfall.
Public Enemy dance in the ring for a few minutes after the match.
VS.
MATCH #3:
DOINK THE CLOWN beats VIRGIL. Before the match even started, Doink sprayed a green mist from the flower on the lapel of his ring jacket, right into Virgil’s eyes. Virgil, blinded by the substance, was unable to get anything going, and Doink pummeled him, then hit the Whoopie Cushion off the top for the pinfall.
After the match, Doink taunts some children in the front row, and even makes one of them cry!
CLIPS are shown of NWA World Champion Jeff Jarrett injuring Terry Funk a few weeks back by breaking a guitar over his head, then hitting a Piledriver on the arena floor. Funk was taken from the ring on a stretcher.
STEVE WILLIAMS cuts a promo. He promises to avenge the injury to his friend, Terry Funk, and take Jarrett’s NWA World title in the process!
It’s time for the NWA CONTROL CENTER segment with STAN LANE, brought to us by
LANE runs down some upcoming NWA events, and then talks about NWA SATURDAY MORNING SLAM, a new TV show that will begin airing tomorrow morning, October 5, at 10am right here on NBC!
LANE then talks about the October 25 TV show, which will be a special Halloween edition of NWA-TNA! On the show, fans will be treated to a special “Chamber of Horrors” match. Info about the match, and the participants, will be made available on next week’s show.
CRUISE and ROUGEAU are joined in the studio by CAPT. LOU ALBANO, NWA World Champion JEFF JARRETT and NWA World TV Champion CHRIS CANDIDO.
Albano, Jarrett and Candido talk about last week, and Jarrett starts insulting Ray Rougeau again. This time, Rougeau stands up and gets right in Jarrett’s face, but he’s sucker punched by Candido!
Jarrett and Candido put the boots to Ray Rougeau!
Someone needs to stop this, he’s not a wrestler anymore!!!
Security personnel come out and pull Candido and Jarrett off of Rougeau. Rougeau gets up, and charges at Jarrett and Candido, but the security team hold him back.
Rougeau sits back down beside Cruise, and says that any time his brother Jacques is in the ring with either of these two, he’s going to be in Jacques’ corner, to make sure they don’t gang up on him!
VS.
MATCH #4:
LORD NORMAN SMILEY (w/ Jeeves) beats CHAVO GUERRERO JR. The youngster gives Smiley a tough match, but in the end, Smiley applies the Normans Conquest for the submission victory.
VS.
MATCH #5 - NON TITLE MATCH:
THE COWBOYS (Rick Casey & Lance Cassidy) beat THE HEAVENLY BODIES (Tom Prichard & Jimmy Del Ray). The match is action-packed from bell to bell, with plenty of offence from both teams. The Bodies have the advantage late in the match, as they keep Casey isolated in their corner, but he’s able to make the hot tag to Lance Cassidy, and Cassidy comes in like a house of fire, dropping both Prichard and Del Ray with clotheslines. The Bodies double-team Cassidy, but Casey comes back in, and sends Prichard out of the ring with a dropkick. This gives Cassidy the opportunity to put Del Ray away with a Bulldog off the top rope.
The Cowboys have defeated the Heavenly Bodies in a non-title match!!!
Back in the studio, Chris Cruise and Ray Rougeau wrap up the show, and hype next week’s show, as well as the debut of NWA Saturday Morning Slam, at 10am tomorrow morning on NBC!
