Jim Ross welcomes the fans to Smoky Mountain Wrestling. We are 6 days away from Volunteer Slam and man, that show will be wild. A rundown will be coming for the fans at home. But tickets are sold out at the Knoxville Civic Center. Today we are going to see Tommy Dreamer take on Al Snow. The Eliminators, with “The Master” Kevin Sullivan, will be in action. As we saw last week, the triple threat match between Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, and Chris Candido will happen to decide the number one contender to Brian Christopher’s US junior championship and speaking of Christopher, he was attacked last week and left for dead. We are going to hear from him this week. But the main event, the main event will see Brad Armstrong, the man who is going to face “The Nature Boy” Buddy Landel for the Smoky Mountain heavyweight title at Volunteer Slam, will take on Aldo Montoya. Right now we head to the ring for the action.

We get sent to the Smoky Mountain event center. Jim Ross is there and gives a rundown of the card. He says we will see the “Beat the Champ” TV title defended when champion “Wild Eyed Southern Boy” Tracy Smothers defends the title against The Tazmaniac with “The Master”. We are going to see a tag team grudge match when The Eliminators, with The Master, take on The Thrill Seekers. The Smoky Mountain tag team titles will be on the line when The Armstrongs, Scott & Steve, defend against Jim Cornette’s Heavenly Bodies. The USWA World tag team championship will be on the line when champions Dick Slater & Robert Fuller, The Stud Stable, defend the belts against The Rock N’ Roll Express. The Smoky Mountain heavyweight title will be on the line when “Nature Boy” Buddy Landel defends the belt against Brad Armstrong with Brian Armstrong being the outside official. But folks, the main event…4-4 tag team elimination in a cage…Team SMW made up of the USWA world heavyweight champion Jerry “The King” Lawler, The Dirty White Boy, Jeff Jarrett, and the Smoky Mountain US Junior champion, Brian Christopher taking on the legendary Four Horsemen, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, Rick Rude, Barry Windham, Tully Blanchard with JJ Dillon. There are stipulations too. If Lawler is beaten, whoever beats him becomes the USWA World champion. If Christopher is pinned by Tully Blanchard, Blanchard becomes the US junior champion. BUT…if the Horsemen lose, they must disband and leave Smoky Mountain Wrestling. With JR, out comes Tracy Smothers. He says he doesn’t know a lot about this Tazmaniac, this reject from Bugs Bunny. Wht he does know though is Kevin Sullivan. He knows Sullivan doesn’t set around and not get involved with matches. So he knows he needs to keep an eye on Sullivan and he will gosh darn it make sure he does. The “Beat the Champ” TV title is -the- most important TV title in the world today and by the Grace of God, it won’t be leaving Smothers anytime soon.

We are back and JR says the card is set and Volunteer Slam will be a huge card, this Sunday. Now, he goes back and goes over the history of The Eliminators and the Thrill Seekers leading to their match at Volunteer Slam. It will be a brawl for sure. We head to the ring for the action as “The Master” Kevin Sullivan leads his Eliminators to the ring.

Back at the Smoky Mountain Event center, Jim Ross is joined by Jim Cornette. Cornette says that there is a week until the Smoky Mountain tag team titles change hands and come to his Heavenly Bodies. One week. He wants that fossil Bob to make sure his sons shine up those belts nicely because he is going to make sure they go to the Bodies. It won’t even be close. Now, he has a surprise for Bob as well. In the heavyweight title match Bob Armstrong made it so one of his sons will be outside of the ring to make sure Brad wins the belt. Well… Bob…Brad and the punk son Brian…”The Nature Boy” Buddy Landel has asked Jim Cornette for some help to make sure Brian stays out of the ring. Cornette has offered to be the person in the corner of Landel to make sure that draft dodging punk kid Brian does what he is supposed to do. So Armstrongs, get ready since all your title hopes are being destroyed in Knoxville.

We are back from commercial and it is time for the triple threat match for the #1 contender spot for the US junior title. Two second generation stars, Eddie Guerrero, and Dean Malenko will wrestle each other AND Chris Candido, a solid wrestler from New Jersey for the shot at the US junior title. They have talked, challenged each other and jawjacked back and forth but now it is time for the match. We head to the ring as the men make their way down.

In the Smoky Mountain Event Center, Jim Ross is joined by JJ Dillion. He tells JR that in 6 days the most important night in the history of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Lawler will lose his world title. Brian Christpher will lose his US junior title. The Four Horsemen will once again show why they are the best at what they do. Next week the TV will show the Horsemen celebrating. By video however, because the Horsemen won’t be back in this inbred territory. No, the US junior title will be going to Charlotte. The USWA world title will be going around the world as only a real world’s champion can do. JR asks him how he knows he will win these things and JJ simply says the same thing he has been saying for weeks… not all is good with the Smoky Mountain team. Someone wants them to lose. Someone wants Lawler to lose the belt and that someone is on that team. So when it comes to Sunday night, don’t be surprised when it happens. He leaves as we go to commercial.

JR is joined by the USWA world heavyweight champion Jerry Lawler at the announce table. Lawler says that he heard what JJ Dillion said. He understands what is at stake. It isn’t just the US junior title. It isn’t just the USWA world title. It is about Smoky Mountain Wrestling and it’s place in history as well as the future. So Dillion and the rest of the Horsemen can bet that Lawler’s team will be ready. Now, take a look at the Horsemen. You have Barry Windham, one of the very best wrestlers to lace up the boots. The man touted to be the world heavyweight champion. Lawler beat him. You have Rick Rude, one of the toughest son of a guns in wrestling today. Lawler has beaten him. You have Tully Blanchard, one of the smartest men in wrestling. Lawler has beaten him. Lastly you have Ric Flair, arguably the best wrestler in the world, the best champion ever to hold a title. Lawler has beaten him. Hell, Lawler has even beaten JJ too. Now, he knows what JJ can do so in order to make sure JJ doesn’t do anything, Lawler has decided to bring in his own guy. He says his guy is on the phone right now and Lawler says hello. The voice is instantly recognized as “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart. He says that he and Lawler go back a long, long time and he will be there to make sure the right team wins. Lawler says goodbye. He is asked about JJ saying here is a traitor in his team. Lawler says Team Lawler has no traitor. They are ready, willing and able to fight for Lawler. Out comes Dirty White Boy who says they ain’t fighting for Lawler. This ain’t Lawler’s team. They are fighting for Smoky Mountain Wrestling. They are fighting for the fans, not Lawler and it don’t matter if Lawler beat all them guys before. What matters is can he do it now. And what is with Jimmy Hart? DWB didn’t say Hart can be anywhere near his corner. Lawler tells him to relax because he has it all in hand. DWB just looks at Lawler and tells him he better because the last thing he wants is DWB coming for him. Now, as for the traitor… where was Brian Christopher last week? Why wasn’t he here? And what about Eddie Gilbert? Gilbert keeps talking like he is a part of this and DWB never said yes to that either. Lawler again tells DWB to calm down and he has it all covered. DWB just looks at Lawler and says he better. We fade out to Jim Ross telling fans to stay tuned to Volunteer Slam on Sunday May 7th in Knoxville.
