Jim Ross welcomes the fans to Smoky Mountain Wrestling. He says this week we are going to be in a solid action state when Brad Armstrong takes on Steele. The Thrillseekers will be in tag team action. Barry Windham with JJ Dillon, will be here and in the main event, The Rock N’ Roll Express will take on the Midnight Express with Jim Cornette, the number one contendership for the USWA World tag team titles in the balance. Right now, we head to the ring for the action.

Armstrong joins his brothers Brian and the SMW tag team champions, Steve & Scott at the announce table. He says that he has noticed that Jim Cornette group is trying to dominate the Smoky Mountain area but that won’t happen as long as the Armstrong Boys are around. His daddy, Bullet Bob has said that May 9th will be a special day. It will be Volunteer Slam and it will be a Rage in a Cage. It is going to have that Ric Flair group take on Lawler’s team but that isn’t all. It has been signed that “Nature Boy” Buddy Landel will defend the SMW heavyweight title against Brad Armstrong and his brothers Scott & Steve will get The Heavenly Bodies in the ring. It may cost his brothers their SMW tag team titles but Cornette gets to learn a lesson. There will be more matches but Brad says he will let Bullet Bob talk about them. He just wants Cornette’s men to know that no man or group of men will run roughshod over Smoky Mountain as long as Armstrongs are here.

We are back and it is time for tag tem action. Chris Jericho & Lance Storm come out and join JR. Jericho says they are ready to restart that tag team run they had. They want the Smoky Mountain tag team titles. Right now their friends, the Armstrongs have them but that won’t matter to Jericho & Storm. It is a shame that they will have to face their friends but the title is the title is the title. They head to the ring for their match.

Jim Cornette leads both the Midnight Express and the Heavenly Bodies out. He tells JR that he had to send Bubba and Doomsday away for a while but that is ok. He still has the two best tag teams in professional wrestling right here. He adds that there is some big show on May 9th. Ok. His Heavenly Bodies get their hands on the Armstrongs and the Smoky Mountain tag team titles. Good. That just means there is an end date for that title reign. Tonight, his Midnight Express has a tag team match against those two punks, Ricky & Robert. The winner gets a USWA world tag team title shot against The Stud Stable. That is good too. It just means there is an end date for the Rock N; Rolls. He wants to be clear, this has nothing to do with Robert & Dick. They are fine champions. They use their left and right turn indicators when driving. Tonight isn’t about them. It is about getting rid of the Rock N’ Roll Express. The Jim Cornette army is ready to start their take over. He leaves as we go to commercial.

We are back and JJ Dillon brings out Barry Windham. He says that his 4 Horsemen will see Lawler’s group in May and it will be a fight, group for group. Well, JJ goes to make it a little harder. He will put Tully’s, Ric’s, Rick’s and Barry’s Smoky Mountain careers on the line. He will even add his own SMW career. If they lose, they go. Whoever gets pinned or gives up leaves. BUT…if Lawler’s group loses, and they will lose, their title belts, if they have any, go to the Horsemen. If Lawler loses, whoever beats him is the new USWA world heavyweight champion. If his peons hold titles, they will lose them should they be the ones pinned or submitted. If Lawler’s group of punks have any guts, they will agree to this. He leads Windham to the ring for the action.

Windham is in the ring celebrating when Lawler, Dirty White Boy, Brian Christopher, and Jeff Jarrett hit the ring. Windham & JJ head to the back as Lawler takes the mic. He says that his “peons” have no problem putting any titles on the line as olong as it gets those jerks, The Horsemen, in the ring. If it takes the USWA world heavyweight title to get Ric Flair in the ring, so be it. Lawler throws it down. If it takes the SMW US Junior heavyweight title to get Tully Blanchard in the ring…**Lawler takes the belt, throwing it down with his title from Christopher who doesn’t look happy at the action) so be it. If there are more titles coming, they will be there too. They will -not- let the Horsemen come in and ruin the hard working people that made this promotion what it is. Lawler and his group here are the ones who bled for this promotion, not the Horsemen. May 9th can’t come fast enough. JR send us to commercial as Lawler leads the guys to the back, Christopher still looking unhappy as he has to pick up his own title that Lawler threw down.

Last commercial is done and it is time for more action. JR tells the fans it is time for the number one contender match where the winner gets a shot at the USWA World tag team champions. The current champions, Dick Slater & Robert Fuller, the Stud Stable, come out. They say they are here to watch the match and see who they have to fight next. JR Asks them about Lawler’s group and once again Fuller says that Lawler’s issue isn’t their issue. The world tag team titles are their issue and only issue. The match starts as Jim Cornette leads the Midnight Express to the ring.

MAIN EVENT (Number One Contender to the USWA World Tag Team Championship): The Rock N’ Roll Express def. The Midnight Express via DQ after Cornette swings the deadly racket

The Stud Stable rush the ring and run The Midnights off. Slater and Fuller check on Ricky & Robert before delivering some massive shots to the new challengers. Cornette sees this and comes back with the Midnights and his racket. Slater and Fuller want none of that and some pushing and shoving turns this in to a three team battle. We fade out to JR saying to stay tuned next week for more Smoky Mountain action.
