THE NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE PRESENTS
TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION WRESTLING!
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1996
BROADCAST LIVE ACROSS CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES ON NBC
BROADCAST FROM THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY CIVIC CENTER IN PORTLAND, ME
CHRIS CRUISE opens the show from the broadcast location, and introduces his co-host, RAYMOND ROUGEAU.
CRUISE and ROUGEAU welcome us to Portland, Maine for another exciting episode of NWA TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION WRESTLING!
This week . . . American Ace returns to NWA-TNA, and he’ll face the Warlord . . . Disco Inferno will be in action against Firebreaker Chip . . . we’ll get our first look at the Belfast Bruiser, a working-class Irishman, who spent his younger years working on the docks in Belfast before deciding to try his hand at pro wrestling. Bruiser will team up with the State Trooper to face the Maestro and Lord Norman Smiley . . . and in the main event, the Ultimate Warrior and Acadian Giant take on the Demons of Destruction, Unabomb and Mortis!
CRUISE and ROUGEAU are joined at the broadcast desk by NWA World Champion JEFF JARRETT and NWA World TV Champion CHRIS CANDIDO.
JARRETT and CANDIDO gloat about holding the two World singles titles in the NWA, and say that this is something that the fans had better get used to, because these belts are going to be with them for a LONG time!
JARRETT starts insulting Rougeau, and French people in general. He goes so far as to offer Rougeau a job as a servant at his home, and then he says that they brought out a uniform for him . . . and hold up a french maid’s outfit!
When Rougeau responds, Jarrett and Candido get in his face, and berate him some more . . . suddenly, JACQUES ROUGEAU ARRIVES ON THE SCENE!!!
Jacques starts throwing punches at both Candido and Jarrett with reckless abandon, but Jarrett and Candido are able to overpower him, and then knock Rougeau to the floor and put the boots to him.
STEVE WILLIAMS charges out, and quickly clears the broadcast area, before helping Jacques to his feet.
WILLIAMS then challenges Candido and Jarrett to face him and Jacques in the ring!

MATCH #1:
AMERICAN ACE (w/ Madusa “Made in the USA” Miceli) beats THE WARLORD. Madusa, decked out in red, white and blue, makes her first appearance with Ace. Warlord has the early advantage, and he pummels the masked man, but Ace eventually turns the tables, and puts the Warlord away with a diving Legdrop from the top rope.
CRUISE and ROUGEAU talk about the incident earlier with Jeff Jarrett, Chris Candido and Ray’s brother Jacques Rougeau. Ray says that his brother is a good man, and will always stand up for his family and his heritage. Ray says that he may be retired, but if Jarrett and Candido want to come out here and talk like that again, he’ll be more than happy to shut them up!
Someone comes out and hands a note to Cruise, who says that apparently there’s some commotion in the back, and they’ve got a camera man back in the dressing room area.
We cut to the camera in the dressing room area, and there’s a group of babyfaces surrounding someone. The camera man is able to maneuver to get a shot, and we see THE ACADIAN GIANT laying, unconscious, on the floor.
Nobody seems sure what happened.
Back at the broadcast area, Cruise and Rougeau talk about what we just saw, apparently someone took out the Acadian Giant, and that means that the Ultimate Warrior may be without a partner for the tag team match later on.
Rougeau is sure that Harvey Whippleman, Mortis and Unabomb are behind this, they knew that they couldn’t beat Warrior and Giant together, so they’ve made sure the Giant won’t be able to compete.
VS.
MATCH #2:
DISCO INFERNO beats FIREBREAKER CHIP. Chip gives Disco Inferno all he can handle, but Disco eventually gets the win after hitting the Chartbuster.
We go to pre-recorded comments from LORD NORMAN SMILEY and THE MAESTRO, who are sitting, drinking tea, while classical music plays softly in the background. Smiley’s butler JEEVES stands in the background, ready to tend to Norman’s every whim.
SMILEY talks about the match tonight against the State Trooper and the Belfast Bruiser, saying that they’re a couple of lowly peasants, and they don’t even deserve to be in the same ring as two men who exude class, like himself and the Maestro. Smiley then says that, to show what a classy individual he is, he went out and got a gift for the Belfast Bruiser, then holds up a sack of potatoes!
THE MAESTRO gets a good laugh from that, and says that they won’t have any trouble with the Bruiser and Trooper tonight.
It’s time for the NWA CONTROL CENTER segment with STAN LANE, brought to us by
LANE runs down some upcoming NWA events, and then talks about NWA SATURDAY MORNING SLAM, a new TV show that will begin airing next Saturday morning, October 5, at 10am right here on NBC!
LANE then talks about the NWA’s return to Pay-Per-View, on Saturday, December 28 with BATTLEBOWL!
BattleBowl will feature the LETHAL LOTTERY, a huge 8-man tag team match, where the participants are chosen completely at random, and the four members of the winning team will go on to compete against each other in a Four Corners match. The winner of that match will receive the BattleBowl trophy!
VS.
MATCH #3:
THE BELFAST BRUISER & THE STATE TROOPER beat LORD NORMAN SMILEY (w/ Jeeves) & THE MAESTRO. The fans are treated to a fast-paced, hard hitting match here. Smiley and Maestro spend the early going trying to avoid any contact with their opponents, and keep diving out of the ring. Finally Trooper and Bruiser have had enough of that, and they go out to the floor after their opponents. Smiley and the Maestro realize the arena floor is the last place they want to be with these two brawlers, so they jump back into the ring, then put the boots to the Bruiser and the State Trooper as they climb back into the ring. The next few minutes see Smiley and the Maestro keep the State Trooper isolated in their corner of the ring, where they constantly double-team him.
Eventually, Trooper makes the hot tag to the Belfast Bruiser, and he cleans house. The match comes to an end when Bruiser hits Maestro with the Celtic Cross for the pinfall.
After the decision is announced, Smiley attacks Finlay from behind, but the State Trooper comes into the ring with his nightstick, and chases Smiley and Maestro from the ring.
A promo airs, hyping the upcoming release of the “NWA Warriors of the Ring” game, for both the Sega and Super Nintendo systems.
RECAP of the Acadian Giant laid out, unconscious, on the floor in the dressing room earlier in the show.
THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR comes to the ring, and cuts a promo, saying he knows that Whippleman and his men were behind the attack on the Giant, but it makes no difference to him, he’ll face both Mortis and Unabomb BY HIMSELF!
HARVEY WHIPPLEMAN leads MORTIS and UNABOMB to the ring. Harvey’s got a huge smile on his face, and says that tonight is the night they end the career of the Ultimate Warrior!
VS.
MATCH #4 - HANDICAP MATCH:
THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR fought MORTIS & UNABOMB (w/ Harvey Whippleman) to a NO CONTEST.
Warrior puts up a valiant effort, trying to fight off both Demons of Destruction, but Mortis and Unabomb gang up on the Warrior and eventually get the upper hand.
Suddenly, AMERICAN ACE hits the ring!!! Ace jumps into the ring, and joins the Warrior as he brawls with Mortis and Unabomb.
American Ace runs the ropes, and hits a diving clothesline that sends both him and Unabomb over the top rope and to the floor.
The Warrior sends Mortis over the top as well, but Mortis lands on his feet, and he and Unabomb gang up on American Ace on the floor.
Suddenly, the lights go out in the building. When they come back on, the Ultimate Warrior is standing face to face with . . .
