Ed Whalen and Lord James Blears remind us of the events of last week and then run down the lineup for Legends Appreciation Night on March 15 in Calgary:
Commonwealth Heavyweight Championship
Bruce Hart (c) vs. Ken Wayne Shamrock
Commonwealth Tag Team Championships
The Asian Assassins (c) vs. Hart Foundation
Commonwealth Jr. Heavyweight Championship
Nelson Royal (c) vs. Owen Hart
A legends ceremony honors Stu Hart, Angelo Mosca, the Garvins and other Canadians.[/I]
Match #1: 15 Minute TV Time Limit
Canadian Bulldogs (Ben Bassarab and Chris Benoit) defeated Bulldog Bob Brown and Kerry Brown at 11:02 when the Bulldogs came off the top rope with double diving headbutts on Kerry Brown to score the pin.
After the match, British Bruisers members Davey Boy Smith and Johnny Smith speak with Ed Whalen, and Davey says it does his heart well to see two kids inspired by the legacy of the British Bulldogs. The two are then interrupted by the Canadian Bulldogs, with Benoit insisting that they pay tribute to Dynamite Kid, not Davey Boy. Bassarab says the Smiths left Dynamite Kid high and dry when he was injured and as far as they are concerned, the Smiths are scum. Davey Boy turns serious as he warns the Canadian Bulldogs that there are some lines you just don't cross.
****COMMERCIAL BREAK****
Joe Pedicino is standing at ringside with #1 Paul Jones and Ken Wayne Shamrock to discuss the title match against Commonwealth Champion Bruce Hart at Legends Appreciation Night. Jones boasts that while the likes of Angelo Mosca and Ron Garvin might be willing to bow before the Harts, he most certainly won't and he doesn't need to because he has the best pure wrestler in the sport as his #1 client. Jones says Shamrock was a state champion amateur wrestler and chose to defer going to the Olympics in order to turn pro.
Shamrock doesn't say much but he does tell Bruce Hart that every time he goes in the ring, his goal is to break one of his opponent's bones. On March 15, it won't just be enough for Shamrock to win the Commonwealth Heavyweight Championship - he wants to claim a member of the Hart family as his first sacrifice in Wrestling International.
Match #2: 15 Minute Time Limit
Ken Wayne Shamrock (w/ #1 Paul Jones) defeated Ben Alexander in 1:02 when he came Alexander coming off the ropes with a brutal belly-to-belly suplex. Alexander had to be carried out of the ring after the match.
****COMMERCIAL BREAK****
"The Rocket" Owen Hart spoke with Joe Pedicino about his challenge for the Commonwealth Jr. Heavyweight Championship against Nelson Royal at the Legends Appreciation Night. Owen knows it's going to be a huge night for the Hart family as they honor his father Stu but he also has his mind on Nelson Royal because you cannot underestimate a man like him! Hart heard Nelson Royal promising to make him beg for mercy last week and while he has respect for Royal, it sounds like all bets will be off when the bell rings. Hart insists Royal was great decades ago but time may have passed him by.
Match #3: 15 Minute TV Time Limit
Flyin' Brian and Dan Kroffat defeated The Cuban Assassin and Sheik Ali at 6:45 when Brian came off the top rope with Air Pillman on Cuban Assassin to score a redeeming victory after last week's loss.
****COMMERCIAL BREAK****
Lord Jonathan Boyd was none too pleased at ringside that his Imperial Army haven't been featured on this week's show yet. Boyd is already "bloody sick and tired" of the Harts and their friends hogging all the TV time when the real stars are the members of his Imperial Army. Boyd leads his men to the ring for our TV main event.
Match #4: TV Time Remaining
The Imperial Army (Dave "Fit" Finlay, Lord Jonathan Boyd and Gama Singh) w/ Volkhan Singh defeated Steve Blackman, Chi Chi Cruz and Gerry Morrow when Finlay pinned Cruz with a gut wrench suplex bridged into a pin. After the match, Volkhan joined the Army in attacking the other opponents until Boyd laid down the flag of the Imperial Army on them.
Ed Whalen and Lord James Blears get one more segment in to plug the Legends Appreciation Night on March 15 in Calgary:
