Airs across Japan on Saturday, March 4, 1993 on:
Taped on February 28, 1993 at the Nakajima Sports Center in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan
Announcers: Kenji Wakabayashi and Kosuke Takeuchi
Ring Announcer: Takashi Yamada
Referees: Red Shoes Unno, Tiger Hattori and Kyohei Wada
The show opens with footage from the end of last week’s show:
Tatsumi Fujinami, Riki Choshu, Hiroshi Hase and Masahiro Chono climb into the ring!
All four are wearing New Japan Pro Wrestling jackets, and Choshu takes the house mic from Takashi Yamada.
Choshu says that since 1972, there has been a rivalry between Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki, and by extension, between All Japan Pro Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
He says that All Japan seems quite content to just go along, and do their own thing, apparently completely oblivious to the fact that they’re a distant second to New Japan!
He says that now, the best wrestlers from New Japan Pro Wrestling are here, they’ve grown bored with the way things are, so they’re here to shake things up!
Tenryu gets in Choshu’s face, and there’s plenty of jawing going on back and forth between them.
Fujinami, Hase and Chono step up to Choshu’s side, causing the other five AJPW wrestlers in the ring to stand beside Tenryu!
There’s plenty of talk going back and forth, but officials and several wrestlers are able to get in between the two sides and separate them before things get physical!

KENJI WAKABAYASHI and KOSUKE TAKEUCHI open the show.
They welcome us to this week’s episode of “All Japan Pro Wrestling”!
The “Fighting Spirit ‘93” tour kicks off with this show, and we’ve got some big matches on tap today!
As we saw at the top of the program, several wrestlers from New Japan Pro Wrestling have shown up, and have made their intentions clear, they are here to prove their superiority over the stars here in All Japan Pro Wrestling!
We’ll see some of those NJPW wrestlers in action today! Tatsumi Fujinami will square off with former Olympian Yoshiaki Yatsu!
And our main event will see Triple Crown champion Mitsuharu Misawa team up with Toshiaki Kawada and Tsuyoshi Kikuchi to face Riki Choshu, Hiroshi Hase and Masahiro Chono!
Also on today’s show, we’ll see the Miracle Violence Connection face Akira Taue and Kenta Kobashi!
Genichiro Tenryu meets Jun Akiyama!
And, our opening bout will be a junior heavyweight match, as Jushin Thunder Liger meets Bobby Fulton!
JUSHIN THUNDER LIGER defeats BOBBY FULTON. Fulton holds his own against the World Jr Heavyweight champion, but in the end, Liger delivers a devastating Brainbuster from the top rope for the 1, 2, 3!
GENICHIRO TENRYU defeats JUN AKIYAMA. The “super rookie” continues to impress as he takes the fight right to the veteran Tenryu. Akiyama hits several different suplex variations, and gets a few very close nearfalls throughout the match.
However, Tenryu turns the tables when he catches Akiyama with an Enziguri, then drives him into the mat with the Folding Powerbomb for the 1, 2, 3!
Wakabayashi says that the first tour of the year ended last week with another big match between the Super Generation Army and Tsuruta-Gun. However, with the appearance of the New Japan wrestlers, those two groups have put their differences aside in order to provide a united front against these outsiders.
THE MIRACLE VIOLENCE CONNECTION: STEVE WILLIAMS & TERRY GORDY defeat AKIRA TAUE & KENTA KOBASHI. Taue and Kobashi were on opposite sides during the rivalry between Tsuruta-Gun and the Super Generation Army, but now that those two groups have put their differences aside, Taue and Kobashi join forces here to battle the World tag champs Gordy and Williams in a non-title match.
These are two hard-hitting teams, and the fans are treated to a real slobberknocker!
During the match, the commentators announce that Steve Williams, as a result of his pinning Misawa to win the tag titles a few weeks ago, will get the next shot at Misawa’s Triple Crown, at “Hyper Battle in Rainbow Hall” in Nagoya on April 11!
The action is fast and furious. Late in the match, the Miracle Violence Connection have the upper hand. Williams pummels Akira Taue, and then drives him into the mat with the Oklahoma Stampede! However, Taue gets a shoulder up at the very last second, shocking Doc and the fans in attendance!
Williams doesn’t let up, he continues to pummel Taue, and this time hits the Doctor Bomb! That does it, and Taue doesn’t kick out this time!
ALL JAPAN VS NEW JAPAN:
“THE DRAGON” TATSUMI FUJINAMI (NJPW) defeats YOSHIAKI YATSU (AJPW). These two have wrestled several times before, as Yatsu started his career in New Japan, before coming over to AJPW in the mid-80s. Yatsu shows that he can go hold for hold with The Dragon, but in the end, Fujinami connects with the Dragon Suplex for the 1, 2, 3!
ALL JAPAN VS NEW JAPAN:
RIKI CHOSHU & HIROSHI HASE & MASAHIRO CHONO (NJPW) defeat MITSUHARU MISAWA & TOSHIAKI KAWADA & TSUYOSHI KIKUCHI (AJPW). Three of All Japan’s top stars face off against three of the best from New Japan in today’s main event! You can cut the tension with a knife here, as both teams want to prove their superiority over the other.
The match starts off slowly, with a feeling out process, both teams looking for weaknesses in the other. Things pick up quickly though, and we’re treated to a fast-paced, hard-hitting match that sees plenty of offense from both teams!
In the end, it’s the youngster Kikuchi that goes down in defeat, after Riki Choshu nearly takes his head off with a vicious Lariat! While the other four men brawl outside the ring, Choshu covers Kikuchi for the 1, 2, 3.
Afterwards, Misawa and Kawada have to help Kikuchi to the back, while the New Japan wrestlers celebrate in the ring!
Wakabayashi and Takeuchi wrap things up, and hype next week’s show.
