Bob: “Mid-South Wrestling is ON THE AIR fans, and this hour Matt Borne, Terry Funk, both wrestle in singles action and Larry Zybysko and Dutch Mantell in tag team action, as well as Ron Simmons will wrestle!
Bill: “I have big news too Bob Caudle: next week we will review details about tournaments for the UWF World Heavyweight AND Mid-South Tag Team Championships!
Bob: “Not only that Bill but we will find out this week the first member of Tod Gordon’s so-called ‘Diamond Mine’ and speaking managers and stables, the Natural has promised to produce STAN HANSEN! Let’s go to the ring, fans!

Chris: “Tod Gordon you hired this man Sheik Adnan Al-Laissie to assemble a stable of wrestlers for you!
Tod: “That’s right, as I said last week, I am paying this man Sheik Adnan a lot of money to scour the ends of the Earth to bring me, The World’s Most Reliable Pawnbroker, the true diamonds of professional wrestling here to Mid-South to fill my Diamond Mine! Sheik Adnan, you promised me my first wrestler this week, who do you have for me, I can’t wait!
Sheik Adnan: “Tod Gordon, you will be very very pleased with my find: from the Isle of Tonga, at 6’2” and 300 pounds:

Tod: “I’m not just thrilled, Chris Cruise, I’m ECSTATIC, and I want to put Bill Watts on notice: I want this men entered into whatever championship tournament you have, the Barbarian is going to lead the Diamond Mine to the ultimate jewel: THE UWF championship!

Steve: “Did I hear correctly? Did my ears fail me? Did I just hear Bill Watts is having a UWF World title . . .TOURNAMENT? WHY? It’s clear as day there is only one champion in Mid-South, man, and that is ME, STUNNING STEVE AUSTIN! It should just be handed to me on a silver platter!
“But OK, so that’s now not gonna happen. So, I am gonna do what Steve Austin has had to do all his life when something he deserves isn’t handed to him: TAKE IT! Bill Watts, put whoever you want in front of me, I’m gonna kick, scratch and punch and do whatever it takes to prove I am #1 and and win that UWF belt and THAT . . . . is the BOTTOM LINE!

STAN HANSEN, IN A COWBOY HAT, WEARING A JACKET WITH A WHITE SHIRT AND BOLO TIE, SPITTING TOBACCO ALL OVER HIS SHIRT, AND SLAPPING A BULLROPE ONTO THE FLOOR! Clearly, HE IS NOT HAPPY!
Chris: “Ladies and gentlemen, he is here. . . . STAN HANSEN!
Hansen immediately leans into the mike and pulls out a document as Chris Cruise leans away in slight disgust!
Stan addresses the Natural!
“WELLLLLL, WELLLLL, WEEEEEEEELL SO YOU ARE THE BIG-SHOT FANCY PANTS that purchased my contract from Japan, are you?
Natural: “Mr. Hansen, please allow me to explain . . .
Hansen: “DID I TELL YOU TO SPEAK YET, BOY?
“Now ah never heard of you, son, but you look like if ah painted you red from head to toe you’d look like a thermometer, you don’t even look like you did an honest day of work in your life! Here’s the bottom line, you pencil necked geek: you may own mah management contract, but if you don’t have a plan for Stan Hansen to win titles and make LOTS OF MONEY: AH WILL OWN YOU!
Natural: “Permission to speak, please Mr. Hansen!

“I do INDEED have a plan, and that is for you to be one half of the MID-SOUTH TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!
Stan: “TAG TEAM!!! Does it look like ah need a partner, BOY?
Natural: “No of course not, sir! But Mr. Hansen, if you sir, can give me ONE week, next week I promise I will get you a tag team partner you will not just WANT to work with . . . BUT WILL GUARANTEE YOU TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS!
Hansen: “Is that so, SKINNY? Well ah will tell you what, son, ah will give you one week. But this tag team partner better be REALLY, REALLY GOOD, Pretty, because if he AIN’T . . . .
Hansen holds his strap up to Natural’s face!

Chris: “OH MY FANS, MAYBE the Natural has bitten off more than he can chew by bringing STAN HANSEN TO MID-SOUTH WRESTLING! Let’s go to the ring!

Bob: “Whatever this tag team tam tournament is going to look like, I imagine that tag team of Mantell and Zybysko will be a big part of it.
Bob: “Fans, let’s go this editorial by Bill Watts!
Bill: “Thank you Bob Caudle. I know as much as anyone that there are these so-called ‘national’ promotions some of which may be promoting even here in Mid-South Wrestling's coverage area. By national promotions, they are on these big cable TV networks, and will fly their wrestlers from Los Angeles, to Miami, to New York, to St. Louis night after night.
“This begs the question, Bill Watts—if Mid-South Wrestling is such a big deal, why isn’t it a so-called big time ‘national’ promotion?
“That’s a great question and I have three answers to that question Jim, the first is, I’ve already tried that with Mid-South Wrestling, and let me assure you it’s a great way for a promotion to quickly lose a LOT of money. So, fans, while I would never discourage anyone from getting behind any wrestling product they want, when you see one of these big time promotions in your backyard, ask one question: when will they be back again? Will they even be back again? Or am I investing money in a promoter that might be out of business 30 days later? I’ve seen it, and it happened to me. It won’t happen to me again.
“Second, just remember fans when you go to see a card from one of these so-called national promotions, remember the wrestlers you are seeing are exhausted. They most likely have been criss-crossing the country for days, away from their families, with little time to workout or train. The result? In many cases you are seeing some very talented wrestlers but not at their best. Here in Mid-South while no one ever said the travel was easy, most nights, our wrestlers get home to their families after their matches. They have time to workout, and to train. When they get to the ring, they are physically and mentally ready to give you, the ticket paying fan, what you deserve: 100% effort in the ring, the pride and desire to prove who is the best and to win titles.
“Now this begs the third question, Bill Watts, will Mid-South expand in the future? Let me assure the viewers we are committed to promoting wrestling in three states and three states only: Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas. If a promoter from outside these three states wants Mid-South to provide talent, we will have to take that on a case by case basis, with the best interests of our talent, the fans here, and the fans in that city in mind. For instance Bob Caudle let’s say a promoter in Los Angeles wants to book a card of Mid-South Wrestling. Well, they had best be willing to pay top dollar and provide the most comfortable traveling accommodations available as well as compensate our wrestlers for the days missed making money in our local rings so they have enough travel time to get to and back from California.

Bob: “Fans next week on Mid-South Wrestling, tentatively scheduled we will have the brackets for both title tournaments announced PLUS the announcement of the first live card of wrestling in the area. Steve Austin will be in action, and matches featuring Butch Reed and Gary Albright, first time as a tag team in that one, Ron Simmons will wrestle and Larry Zybysko and Dutch Mantell tag once again.
Bill: “That’s right Bob Caudle, and don’t forget, we will see if the Natural can weasel out of his predicament with Stan Hansen by providing him a tag team partner of his liking!

Cruise: “Terry Funk, after that big win against John Nord, I can only say: you still have it!
Terry: “Well thank you for that Crispy Cruiser, that man John Nord is just one example of why Mid-South has the best talent in the world! I was lucky enough to get my hand raised after that match. You know, I have been ALL AROUND THE WORLD, but the one territory in wrestling I have never spent a lot of time in is right here in Mid-South. And I have never held the Mid-South Heavyweight Championship or the UWF World Heavyweight Championship.
“I may have a few fights left in me, but I know I have only one more run, and it sure would mean a lot to me if I were to end my career knowing I won that title belt, so Mr. Watts, I see you over there with Bob Caudle at the announce desk, I sure would be grateful if you would consider me for a spot in that tournament.
