MAGNUM: Terry Funk defends his Undisputed Heavyweight Championship of the World against Bad News Brown! Also, the Fabulous Freebird, Michael Hayes defends against Terry’s brother, a former NWA World Champion, the great Dory Funk, Jr.!
MARSHALL: A big night for the Funk family, make no mistake! Fomer World Champion Vader will be here tonight and he’s scheduled to wrestle the World Champion at our Winter Warfare paqy per view on February 20th in a Texas Death match!
MAGNUM: A lot of things are happening in the UWA! That’s why I believe it’s the greates in professional wrestling! Right now, we have a young man with a bright future waiting in the ring!
TODD CHAMPION VS. LOU WINSTON: The impressive looking Champion meets a Memphis mainstay in big Lou Winston. Winston uses every dirty trick he knows, but Champion lands a flying elbow and scores a 1-2-3!
BONI: I’m here with the World Junior Heavyweight Champion “Gentlemen” Chris Adams. Chris, it seems more and more wrestlers in the 230 pounds and under weight class are mKing their way to the UWA and it looks like the former champion Dean Malenko is at the top of the list!
CHRIS: It seems like Dean, who is a great wrestler, has a chip on his shoulder and he’s taking this whole situation personally! At Winter Warfare, he’s even agreed to wrestle me on my own terms, Boni. He’s agreed to compete under English rules. 10 five minute rounds. The match goes until we have two falls or a knockout. I’ve wrestled hundreds of matches under that system, but it will be new to Dean, but he’s so obsessed with this belt that he’ll do it!
BONI: We’re about to see Japan’s El Samurai in a match. He’s another highly rated contender!
ADAMS: Yes, you’ll be very impressed by what he can do. I’ll be scouting that match, I promise you! Chavo Guerrero is another great junior heavyweight coming to the UWA! It’s not going to be easy to hold onto this title, Boni!

EL SAMURAI VS. DAVEY RICH: The masked grappler out of Japan faces the very capable Rich. Davey gives an excellent effort tonight and scores several near falls before Samurai locks ion the Samurai clutch and scores an impresive pin.

GENTLEMAN CHRIS ADAMS VS. MAX THRASHER: Thrasher just looks mean and tough. He attacks the World Junior Heavyweight Champion before the bell and the Englishman takes quite a beating. WATTS: I’d like to interject something here: Over a decade before, there was another Texas Death match for a World Championship. I was the challenger and Funk was NWA World Champion! I was big and I was tough and I was confident. I am secure enough in my manhood to admit that Terry Funk found a way to win that match and keep his title! Vader, don’t get overconfident, big fella! Funk is hard to beat in a Texas Death Match!
LOWRANCE: Well said! I’m sure that we’ll have more announcements here next week!

SGT. SLAUGHTER, RANGER ROSS, & HACKSAW BUTCH REED VS. HANGMAN BOBBY JAGGERS, RICK LINK, & STEVE LOMBARDI: Slaughter and company have three experienced and capable opponents tonight. Even though Jaggers is able to go toe to toe with the faces, he has to tag out eventually! Slaughter gets the duke for his team as he puts Lombardi away with the Cobra Clutch!

Gaylord wrestles very aggressively, jumping on Vader before the bell, but Vader just takes over and dominates the action. Vader hits a powerbomb, but refuses to cover Gaylord! Vader hits a second powerbomb and again refuses a cover! What’s he doing? He’s yelling and gesturing at referee Sandy Barr. Oh, I get it- he’s having Barr give Gaylord a ten count! Gaylord can’t answer! If vader gets Terry Funk in that position, we’ll have a new World Champion! Wait a sec, Vader want’s the ring mic!

UWA TV TITLE MATCH: MICHAEL HAYES © VS. DORY FUNK, JR.: For the early portion of the match, the legendary Funk gives the Freebird a wrestling lesson. Terry Gordy comes to ringside and starts cheering his Freebird brother on! Terry Funk comes down and stands on the other side of the ring to counter Gordy. Roberts also comes out and, before long, Gordy and Roberts jump Terry! Dory sees what’s happening and leaves the ring to help his brother! As the Funks brawl with Hayes and Roberts, Hayes leans against the turnbuckles and watches, acting bored! Referee David Manning calls for the bell! He’s calling it a DQ on Hayes! An irate Hayes pushes Manning down! Hayes leaves the ring, grabs Funk from behind and posts him! Terry Funk is busted open! And he has to defend his belt tonight! Kevin Von Erich runs out with a chair! The Freebirds get outta Dodge! Will Terry be able to defend his belt? We’ll find out next!!!

Brown miscalculates a charge into the corner, Funk moves and Brown’s knee hits the turnbuckles! Funk starts working the leg of Bad News and eventually cinches in the spinning toehold! Vader comes into the ring and attacks Funk for the DQ! Vader powerbombs Funk! Dory runs in and he gets a powerbomb as well! Vader has laid waste to both Funks! This doesn’t bode well for WINTER WARFARE!
