World Championship Wrestling presents...
================
WCW SATURDAY NIGHT
================
01/21/1993
Airing on TBS
From: Center Stage, Atlanta, Georgia
Episode #3
*Opening credits
Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan talk about all of the questions surrounding WCW World Heavyweight Champion Sting, Lex Luger and Ric Flair. Tony points out that The Brain couldn't get any answers from Luger last week about whether he's in league with Flair. Heenan promises he will get answers tonight when he has the first interview with Flair since his return to WCW.
The announcers also announce that Kevin Sullivan and his Tazmaniac will be in action tonight against the Cole Twins, plus new WCW World Television Champion Arn Anderson defends against Johnny B. Badd.
WCW executive vice president Eric Bischoff joins the announces to discuss the situation surrounding the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. Bischoff explains that the decision to strip "Ravishing" Rick Rude was made by his predecessor, but clearly Rude is now able to compete. Bischoff then announces that since the 30 days have passed since the last defense of the title, Rude will face top contender Cactus Jack right here next week on WCW Saturday Night to crown the new champion.
Match #1
Barry Windham vs. Disco Inferno
Windham comes out looking sharp, as he methodically takes apart Disco and eventually pins him with a running lariat.
Winner: Barry Windham

When 'WCW Saturday Night' returns on TBS, Bobby Heenan is joined by Lord Steven Regal and Sir William. Heenan welcomes Lord Regal to World Championship Wrestling, but Regal says it's no pleasure to be here. Between last week, and what he just saw with some "dimestore cowboy", Lord Steven Regal is unimpressed with American professional wrestling.
Regal boasts about wrestling in the Albert Hall in front of Her Majesty and Prince Phillip - and now he's here in this dingy Center Stage studio. As far as Regal is concerned, Atlanta, Georgia doesn't hold a candle to the London! Regal is interrupted by Barry Windham, who says he heard what Regal had to say about him.
What Barry Windham wants to know is if Regal is so disgusted by American wrestling, why is he here in WCW? Regal scoffs, telling Windham that he doesn't have to answer to him or any American. If Windham wants 'the trashing of his life', he can step into the ring against Lord Regal next week! Windham doesn't hesitate before accepting the match.
Match #2
The Eliminators w/ Missy Hyatt vs. The Ding-Dongs
Missy Hyatt's Eliminators bum-rush the ring and absolutely obliterate the masked Ding-Dongs. Eventually, Saturn gets one of the Ding-Dongs on his shoulder as Kronus comes off the top and destroys him with a missile dropkick.
Winner: The Eliminators

Mike Tenay is joined in the locker-room by WCW World Tag Team Champions Ricky Steamboat and Shane Douglas.
Douglas: "Dragon, last week, the Eliminators embarrassed us when they threw the rules out the window. I respect your way, Dragon, but this time, I think we have to fight fire with fire."
Steamboat: "Shane, you're young and I understand you can be hot-headed. I ask you to trust me here - we can beat these Eliminators and do it the right way."
Douglas: "I trust you, Dragon. Alright, we'll try it your way."
Match #4
Konnan vs. Roadblock
The Mexican sensation Kennan makes a big reappearance here in WCW and he manages to take down the larger Roadblock. Konnan eventually forces Roadblock to submit to the elevated Single-Leg Crab.
Winner: Konnan

WCW World Heavyweight Champion Sting joins Tony Schiavone on the set to respond to Lex Luger's comments last week.
Sting: "I heard what Lex had to say, Tony. Look, Lex and The Stinger had some good times - I trusted the guy! But he turned his back on me - just like Ric Flair has turned his back on me more times than once."
Schiavone: "I guess that means you won't be hanging around with Luger any time soon, Sting!"
Sting: "Actions speak louder than words, Tony. Lex, you gotta prove yourself to the Stinger!"
Schiavone: "We know we will see Lex Luger in action next week here on WCW Saturday Night as he faces Alex Wright."
Sting: "You want to be my friend again, Lex? No dirty tricks next week."
The Stinger is then interrupted by none other than 'The Mouth of the South' Jimmy Hart!
Hart: "Sting, I can promise you, baby, Lex is on the level. He brought me in to manage his career - and he has told me, his #1 goal is to make things right with you!"
Sting: "Hart, I don't trust you as far as I can throw you! If Lex is working with you, that's all I need to know!"
Jimmy Hart huffs and puffs when Sting walks away angry.
Match #5
WCW World Television Championship
Arn Anderson vs. Johnny B. Badd
Badd seems to have Anderson on the ropes and even looks ready to hit The Kiss That Don't Miss, until Anderson headbutts him low and throws him to the floor. Anderson argues with referee Nick Patrick while Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko hit ringside and stomp on Badd. They back off so the referee can make the count to officially count-out Badd!
Winner: WCW World Television Champion Arn Anderson

A taped promo airs from Hawk and Animal, The Road Warriors.
Animal: "Steiner Brothers, I think you've finally figured out that you can't run from the Road Warriors anymore. Are you mad that Scotty isn't TV Champion any more? You want to do something about it. Me and Hawk aren't hard to find."
Hawk: "WELLLLLLLLL... the way I see it, the Steiners cried like the empty-headed babies they truly are! Well, me and Animal, we ain't babysitters. We're gonna shut these babies up... for good! OHHHHHHH WHAT A RUUUUUSH!"
Match #6
Kevin Sullivan and Tazmaniac vs. The Cole Twins
Sullivan takes a beating from the Coles, and bounces around the ring for them. He makes the tag to Tazmaniac, who comes in and dumps both Coles on their heads with overhead suplexes. Tag then comes off the top with a big splash on Keith (?) for the victory.
Winners: Kevin Sullivan and Tazmaniac

In the closing moments, Bobby Heenan is joined by Ric Flair.
Heenan: "Ric, what a pleasure to have your first TV interview since returning to WCW!"
Flair: "Bobby, you know it was only ever gonna be The Brain getting this scoop."
Heenan: "The world wants to know what has brought you back to WCW?"
Flair: "I think you know the answer. The WCW World Heavyweight Championship is my title - I never actually lost it. As far as I'm concerned, I am the uncrowned World Champion whether Sting likes it or not!"
Heenan: "There you have it! I agree, you're the Undisputed Champion, Ric!"
Flair: "You've always been a wise man, Bobby. Stinger, I know you've seen all the talk about the Horsemen. All you need to worry about is The Nature Boy walking that aisle once agin - to take back what's mine!"
Heenan: "What about Lex Luger? Is he a member of the Horsemen?
Flair: "I saw Jimmy Hart out here earlier saying he represented Lex. I think you should ask him, Brain."
Heenan: "Come on, Ric! It's me!"
Flair: "All due respect, Bobby, but some things aren't for public consumption. What I'm here to say is that the Horsemen are back, we have two young bucks joining me and Arn. Sting, WCW will always be Horsemen country and that's bad news for you. Wooooo!"
That's all for this week - next week, we will have Barry Windham squaring off against Lord Steven Regal on 'WCW Saturday Night'! For the US Heavyweight Title, it will be Ravishing Rick Rude vs Cactus Jack
