Tony Schiavone welcomes viewers to the first new WCW Worldwide of 1993 - and welcomes his brand new co-host Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan:
*Bobby Heenan tells Schiavone that he has finally come to World Championship Wrestling because this is 'where the Big Boys Play'.
*Heenan reminds Schiavone that he is the premiere 'broadcast journalist' in the sport today - and he plans to break the biggest news stories in World Championship Wrestling.
*At Schiavone's prompting, Heenan announces he's heard one of the biggest stars in WCW history has signed on the dotted line to return to the promotion. Heenan hints this person is a 'close, personal friend'.
*Schiavone reveals that, tonight here on WCW Worldwide, 'The Man Called Sting' will get his chance at the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion Van Vader after winning the King of Cable tournament at Starrcade.
*Plus, WCW World Television Champion Scott Steiner will defend the championship for the first time this year.
Tony and Bobby are then joined by the brand new WCW Executive Vice President Eric Bischoff for some major announcements.
*Bischoff reveals that some major changes are afoot to make this the best year yet for World Championship Wrestling.
*It is announced that Turner Broadcasting has terminated its relationship with Bill Watts and is in the process of appointing a new commissioner - to be announced within weeks.
*Bischoff can confirm what Bobby Heenan mentioned earlier - one of the 'most notable' stars in the history of World Championship Wrestling has signed a deal to return to the company and will arrive imminently.
*The new WCW executive Vice President also confirms that several other high-profile free agents will be coming to World Championship Wrestling - including right here, right now.
*Bischoff then announces the challenge for Scott Steiner's WCW World Television Championship...
MATCH #1: WCW World Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner (w/Rick Steiner) fought Road Warrior Hawk (w/Road Warrior Animal) to a no contest in 6:45.
*The crowd at Disney MGM Studios in Orlando exploded as the Road Warriors made their return to World Championship Wrestling.
*The Steiners made quite an entrance of their own on Harley Davidson motorcycles, but were jumped by the Road Warriors as they were taking off their gear.
*The match never really gets going officially as the Road Warriors and the Steiners brawled all over the ringside area.
*Road Warrior Animal eventually pulled off one of his spiked arm pads and leveled Scotty Steiner in the eye with it.
*Blood started to pour from Steiner's right eye as he violently swung to try to fight off the Road Warriors.
*WCW officials flooded the ringside area to break up the brawl while 'The Dog-Faced Gremlin' rushed to his brother's side.
*Post match, The Road Warriors stomped away while medics tended to the blood pouring from Scott Steiner's right eye.

RICK RUDE: "The more things change around here in World Championship Wrestling, the more they stay the same. The brass at WCW always try to stick it to the Ravishing One - and I'm sick of it. MIKE TENAY: "I'm not sure what you're talking about? The Eye of the Beast? The Taskmaster."
KEVIN SULLIVAN: "The Taskmaster has had the wisdom of the beetle nut and it has opened my third eye! Steiners, Road Warriors, Steamboat and Douglas, the raging seas are crashing on the shore! The madman is coming..."

MATCH #4: Sting defeated WCW World Heavyweight Champion Big Van Vader (w/ Harley Race) at 10:08 when he forced Vader to submit to the Scorpion Deathlock.
*During the introductions, the announcers were stunned as 'The Total Package' Lex Luger was shown taking a seat at ringside to watch the match. Luger hasn't been seen in WCW since he lost the World Heavyweight Champion to Sting last year!
*Race tried to take advantage of Sting's distraction by having Vader bum-rush him in the corner and lay in some stiff shots.
*Vader managed to lay out Sting with the powerbomb but was shocked when Stinger kicked out of the pin.
*The WCW World Heavyweight Champion pulled Sting up and slammed him, then went for a moonsault off the top rope. Sting rolled away at the last minute.
*Sting then came off the ropes with a high knee lift and whipped him into the corner for three straight Stinger Splashes.
*Vader was trapped in the Scorpion Deathlock and had no choice but to tap out!
*Post match, Sting celebrated becoming the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion as he was handed the title by official Ole Anderson.
-
-
-
*Following the title change, Lex Luger stood up from his ringside seat and as he made eye contact with Sting, Ole Anderson pulled the champion around and pointed to the entrance.
As Sting stood dumbfounded in the ring, Tony Schiavone absolutely lost it on commentary leading up to the appearance of...
'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair arriving at the entrance and strutting towards the ring.
Sting set down the title and motioned for Flair to bring it as the Nature Boy walked that aisle and stepped onto the ring apron.
With Lex Luger looking on from feet away, Flair stepped back off the apron and rejoined Ole Anderson on the floor - where he let out a "WOOOO!"
BOBBY HEENAN: "I told you, Tony! I told you my close, personal friend would be here - and The Brain always delivers!"
TONY SCHIAVONE: "Fans, we are out of time but I cannot believe what I am seeing. Lex Luger has returned to World Championship Wrestling, we have a new WCW World Heavyweight Champion... and the Nature Boy is back!"
