Ross, “Welcome everyone to ‘The Spring Spectacular’! Jess and I are with GWA President Gorilla Monsoon! Mr. President, the big night is here!”
Monsoon, “It sure is Jim! The GWA does big shows right, and tonight will be no different.”
Ross, “Tonight’s tag team match will set the stage for what happens next. Is Ric Flair ‘over the hill’?”
Ventura, “”Stop right there Ross! Ric Flair is the best in the business! He’s not ‘over the hill’!”
Monsoon, “I think he might be!”
Ventura, “”Who cares what you think!”
Ross, “Alright gentlemen, let’s get started with a popular young man returning to the GWA!”
Match #1
Iceman King Parsons vs. Dale Veasey
Parsons takes the mic from Howard Finkel.
Parsons, “Have Mercy! The Iceman is back where he belongs! I’m in the best place for me, with the best fans in the world!”
The Iceman is one of the most popular men in the sport. He meets the rugged Alaskan. The match is crisp, and goes back and forth. Veasey is very aggressive. We go back and forth until Parsons wins with the butt bump. He is back!

Ricky Santana vs. The Great Wojo
Santana is a Cuban who has come to the US. He meets the mat wrestler from Toledo. Wojo is a fine mat wrestler, and he shows it. Santana matches him on the mat. They go back and forth, and Wojo gets frustrated. He tries to rough up Ricky. Santana is ready for it. He withstands it, and wins with a sunset flip.

Milt Avruskin with General Skandor Akbar and the Bolsheviks.
Avruskin, “With me are General Skandor Akbar, and his tag team, the Bolshiviks. General Akbar, your tag team has been very impressive. Tonight, they meet two veterans, Tito Santana, Tom Zenk. That will be quite a test.”
Akbar, “My two Russian monsters are here to destroy who is in our path! The Russians and we Arabs have joined forces, and we will control the world, not just the wrestling world!”
Avruskin, “Let’s go to Howard Finkel.”
Match #3
The Bolsheviks w/General Skandor Akbar vs. Tito Santana and Tom Zenk
Finkel introduces the combatants. Volkoff takes the mic, and he and Zhukov begin to sing the Soviet National Anthem. The crowd is stunned. They begin to jeer.
The match begins. It’s Santana vs. Zhukov. Boris tries to overpower Santana, but Tito begins to rally. Zhukov is frustrated. He tags in the massive Volkoff. Nikolai starts to dish out punishment. Santana is in trouble. Tito tags in Zenk. “The Z Man” puts up a fight, but Volkoff is too big and strong. He traps Zenk in the backbreaker, and Tom submits. Akbar has a winning team on his hands.
Winners-The Bolsheviks
We see the “Piper’s Pit” set.
Roddy Piper walks out.
Piper, “Hello Buffalo! RP here! I have a special guest tonight. A lot of people are coming back to the GWA. This guy is no exception…Ted DiBiase,”
DiBiase walks out wearing his “Million Dollar Man” outfit.
Piper, “That’s a…a…a new outfit isn’t it?”
DiBiase, “Shut up Piper! I am Ted DiBiase, but I’m also one of the wealthiest men in wrestling, call me the ‘Million Dollar Man’!”
Piper, “‘Million Dollar Man’ huh?”
DiBiase, “That’s right! I’m the best wrestler in the business, and the richest. I have spent large sums of money to train, and prepare. I am ready for GWA competition!”
Piper, “Well, that’s mighty impressive…”
DiBiase, “I’m not done! As the top wrestler in the world, everyone wants a piece of me. They’ll jump me from behind, so I need a bodyguard…Virgil!”
Virgil comes out and stands beside DiBiase.
Piper, “He’s got muscles, this is pretty impressive!”

Skip Young vs. “Wild” Bill Irwin
The high flyer from Texas meets the tough biker from Minnesota. Irwin starts fast. He is very aggressive, and dishes out punishment. Young puts up a good fight, and starts to rally. Irwin pulls out the big guns, and wins with a big boot. Don’t overlook him!

Milt Avruskin is with Larry Zbyszko
Avruskin: “With me is ‘The Living Legend’ Larry Zbyszko. Mr. Zbyszko, you returned with a bang, and the fans are watching your every move.”
Zbyszko, “Of course these spud heads are impressed! After 13 glorious years in the wrestling business, I have impressed everyone!”
Avruskin, “What are your plans in the GWA?”
Zbyszko, “You’re a pushy little guy aren’t you?” I came here to go to the top, any way I can. Whoever has enough guts to step in the ring with me is next! I am going after a title, I just haven’t decided which one!”
Avruskin, “Tonight you meet the powerful Englishman Johnny Smith.”
Zbyszko, “As a student of history, I know this, we saved those Limeys twice, I’m sure not afraid of him!”
Avruskin, “Larry Zbyszko vs. Johnny Smith is next!”

Larry Zbyszko vs. Johnny Smith
The bell rings and Larry Z starts. He hesitates, stalls, and frustrates Smith. The Britt loses his cool, and that’s what Zbyszko wants. He lures Johnny in, and takes him down. Larry mat wrestles with the best of them. Smith puts up a fight, but Zbyszko uses a swinging neckbreaker for the win. Larry is a contender for any title in the GWA.
Winner-Larry Zbyszko
We see historical scenes from Philadelphia along with summer scenes. We hear a voiceover.
Saturday night, August 5, the GWA presents “Summer Sizzler”!

The Islanders w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs. The New Breed
“The Brain” leads his new tag team into action. The Islanders are young, wild, and vicious. The New Breed are very unusual, but also very talented. Champion and Tama open the action. Both men are talented and athletic, and they quickly pick up the pace. The action goes back and forth, and Heenan shouts instructions from ringside. The crowd has taken to the New Breed, and they get behind them. Haku tags in, and the bigger Islander goes to work. Royal tags in and tries his hand. He is very talented, but Haku is too much. He uses a thrust kick for the win. Heenan has a team on his hands.

Avruskin, “With me are General Skandor Akbar and the Iron Sheik. Gentlemen, we know how dangerous the Iron Sheik is. He is a former World Champion. You have set your sights on the ‘The Macho Man’, and the North American Championship. Tonight is your night.”
Akbar, “That’s right, Avruskin, it is our night! The Iron Sheik is the top wrestler of all time, and the top man in the sport! Tonight we add the North American Title to our collection, and then we move forward, the ‘Macho Man’s’ career ends tonight!”
Iron Sheik, “Iran number #1, Arabia number #1, USA hock ptuy!”
Avruskin, “”Let’s go to Jim Ross with ‘The Macho Man’ and the lovely Miss Elizabeth.”
Ross is with Savage and Miss Elizabeth.
Ross, “With me is the North American Champion and the lovely Miss Elizabeth. “Macho Man”, you heard the Iron Sheik, he seems set on destroying you, and taking your title.”
Savage, “Let him try, yea let him try! I’m the Champion, yes I am! No one, and I mean no one is taking this from me!”
Ross, “The Sheik was an Olympic wrestler, and is a former World Champion.”
Savage, “Doesn’t matter, no doesn’t matter! Mis# Elizabeth is beside me, that’s all I need…ohhhhh yeaaaaa!”

North American Championship
“Macho Man” Randy Savage (Champion) w/Miss Elizabeth vs. The Iron Sheik w/General Skandor Akbar
The Iron Sheik and Akbar wait in the ring. Savage and Miss Elizabeth come down the aisle as “Pomp and Circumstances” plays. The Champion climbs into the ring. The Sheik puts the badmouth on Savage, but he is not intimidated. Gary DeRusha is your referee. Both men start fast, and are very aggressive. The Sheik hits a big suplex, and goes for a cover. Savage kicks out at two. Elizabeth is very worried at ringside. Savage picks up the pace, and we have a brawl on our hands. Both men end up slugging it out on the arena floor. DeRusha’s count reaches ten. Both men are counted out, they will meet again.

Jim Ross is with James E. Cornette and the Midnight Express.
Ross, “I’m here with tonight’s challengers, the Midnight Express, and their manager James E. Cornette!”
Cornette, “Hold on Ross, and don’t like the way you daid my name! Show me some respect, or my Mother will buy Oklahoma, and kick you out!”
Ross, “Alright, Mr. Cornette, your men get another shot at the Freebirds tonight. You’ve come close, can they do it?”
Cornette, “Those two rednecks have used every dirty trick in the book to keep the titles! It’s not fair!”
Ross, “You blaming someone else for ‘dirty tricks?”
Cornette, “Shut up Ross! My Midnight Express are the tag team of the 90’s, the Freebirds are relics of the past! It’s time for Bobby and Dennis to wear those belts with pride, and honor!”
Ross, “Really, pride, and honor?”
Cornette, “Ross you’re trying my patience! We don’t care who, or what, the Freebirds throw at us, we will walk out of the stinking icebox with the titles! You can count on that!”
Ross, “Let’s go to Milt Avruskin and the Champions.”
Ross is with the Fabulous Freebirds.
Ross, “With me are, the Fabulous Freebirds, the Global Tag Team Champions. Michael, I’ve known you for a long time, this might be your toughest test yet.”
Hayes, “Ross, that’s what I like about you! You’re honest! Cornette is a big mouth mama’s boy, those two guys can wrestle. We know this isn’t going to be easy! You have known us for a long time, and you know we come to fight every night, and that’s what we’re doing tonight! Cornette, send those two at us, and we’ll beat ‘‘em again!”

Global Tag Team Championship
The Fabulous Freebirds (Champions) vs. The Midnight Express w/James E. Cornette
Cornette and his men arrive first. He takes the mic from Howard Finkel.
Cornette, “”Let me introduce to you, the Global Tag Team Champions, and the number one cause of divorce in America, Loverboy Dennis, Beautiful Bobby, the Midnight Express!”
The Buffalo crowd boos loudly. We hear “Badstreet”, and the Champions come to the ring. There is real excitement in the air. It will be Gordy and Roberts for the Champions. Hayes will be on the floor to counter act Cornette. Referee Robert Warren calls for the bell, and we are underway. Gordy starts for the Champions, Eaton for the challengers. Bobby hits and runs, and Gordy is frustrated. He rights himself, and begins to dish out punishment. Eaton is in retreat, and he tags in Condrey. Now he has to contend with the massive Freebird. Gordy is a house afire, and the Express take to the floor to confer with Cornette. They return to the ring, and Condrey turns to brains over brawn. Gordy tags in Roberts, and the wily veteran reaches into his bag of dirty tricks. All four men end up in the ring. Warren tries to get Gordy to his corner. This allows Cornette to climb on the ring apron, and smash the tennis racket across Buddy Jack’s back. He crumples into a heat, and Eaton covers him. Warren turns and counts 1…2…3! We have new tag team champions! Cornette and his men celebrate, and the ‘Birds are stunned.
Winners-The Midnight Express (New Global Tag Team Champions)
Milt Avruskin is with Barry Windham and Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
Avruskin, “That was travesty! Well, that was one tag team match, and we have one more. This one is very complicated. Hacksaw Jim Duggan is hot on the trail of, the television champion, Butch Reed. Barry Windham is the Global Champion, and he has Ric Flair chasing him. Gentlemen, there are no titles at stake here, but what happens will shape the GWA for some time.”
Duggan, “That’s right Milt. I’m going right after Reed. He’s good, but he’s had that title long enough! It’s time for ‘Old Hacksaw’ to take it! I’m coming for it…tough guy! Hoooooo!”
Avruskin, “Barry, you know Flair wants that title back, and he has Heenan with him. You’re in a tough spot.”
Windham, “The Champion is always in a tough spot. When I took this from Flair, I knew he’d come storming back, I’m ready for him!”
Avruskin, “Let’s go to Jim Ross.”
We see Ross with Bobby Heenan, Butch Reed and Ric Flair.
Ross, “With me are Bobby Heenan, Ric Flair, and Butch Reed. Gentlemen, this tag team match is the talk of the wrestling world. There are no titles at stake, but the winners tonight will be riding high.”
Heenan, “That’s right Ross, that’s pretty smart for you. My men are winning tonight, there is no doubt about that. If Butch pins cockeyed Duggan, he’ll go away, and we can move on to bigger and better things. If Ric pins that big Texas hick, he has to give us a title shot, and we’ll get that title back.”
Flair, “Windham, we’ve played around long enough! I let you borrow my belt, but you got Texas all over it, that has to stop! I’m talking you to school tonight, and next time, I’m taking the belt, because whether you like it, or not, learn to love it! The ‘Nature Boy’ is the best thing going today! Wooooooooo!”
Ross, “Our main event is next!”

Special Tag Team Mstch
Barry Wndham and Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. “Nature Boy” Ric Flair and Butch Reed w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan
There is a “Big Fight” feel in the Aud. All four men pace back and forth. Earl Hebner is your referee. The bell rings and we are underway. Reed and Duggan start the contest. Both big men crash into each other. Both men are aggressive and vicious. They exchange rights and lefts. Reed whips Duggan into the ropes and goes for a clothesline, but Jim ducks. He comes off the ropes with a shoulder tackle. Reed goes down, and Duggan covers him. Butch kicks out at two. If possible, the intensity picks up. Both Flair and Windham. The two best wrestlers are eye to eye. They lock up. Both men exchange holds and counter holds. Flair appears to be showing Windham he is still on top of his game. Windham matches him move for move. Heenan looks worried at ringside. Windham seems to be gaining the edge. Flair goes to the underhanded tactics. He is “The dirtiest player in the game”. The match begins to breakdown. With chaos in the ring, Flair takes Barry down, and covers him. He uses the ropes for leverage. Alphonso does not see this, and counts the fall! Ric Flair pins the Global Champion! Windham argues, but Hebner saw nothing. Heenan and his men celebrate. “The Nature Boy” is back in the conversation.

Global Tag Team Championship
The Fabulous Freebirds (Champions) vs. The Midnight Express w/James E. Cornette
Cornette and his men arrive first. He takes the mic from Howard Finkel.
Cornette, “”Let me introduce to you, the Global Tag Team Champions, and the number one cause of divorce in America, Loverboy Dennis, Beautiful Bobby, the Midnight Express!”
The Buffalo crowd boos loudly. We hear “Badstreet”, and the Champions come to the ring. There is real excitement in the air. It will be Gordy and Roberts for the Champions. Hayes will be on the floor to counter act Cornette. Referee Robert Warren calls for the bell, and we are underway. Gordy starts for the Champions, Eaton for the challengers. Bobby hits and runs, and Gordy is frustrated. He rights himself, and begins to dish out punishment. Eaton is in retreat, and he tags in Condrey. Now he has to contend with the massive Freebird. Gordy is a house afire, and the Express take to the floor to confer with Cornette. They return to the ring, and Condrey turns to brains over brawn. Gordy tags in Roberts, and the wily veteran reaches into his bag of dirty tricks. All four men end up in the ring. Warren tries to get Gordy to his corner. This allows Cornette to climb on the ring apron, and smash the tennis racket across Buddy Jack’s back. He crumples into a heat, and Eaton covers him. Warren turns and counts 1…2…3! We have new tag team champions! Cornette and his men celebrate, and the ‘Birds are stunned.
Winners-The Midnight Express (New Global Tag Team Champions)
Milt Avruskin is with Barry Windham and Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
Avruskin, “That was travesty! Well, that was one tag team match, and we have one more. This one is very complicated. Hacksaw Jim Duggan is hot on the trail of, the television champion, Butch Reed. Barry Windham is the Global Champion, and he has Ric Flair chasing him. Gentlemen, there are no titles at stake here, but what happens will shape the GWA for some time.”
Duggan, “That’s right Milt. I’m going right after Reed. He’s good, but he’s had that title long enough! It’s time for ‘Old Hacksaw’ to take it! I’m coming for it…tough guy! Hoooooo!”
Avruskin, “Barry, you know Flair wants that title back, and he has Heenan with him. You’re in a tough spot.”
Windham, “The Champion is always in a tough spot. When I took this from Flair, I knew he’d come storming back, I’m ready for him!”
Avruskin, “Let’s go to Jim Ross.”
We see Ross with Bobby Heenan, Butch Reed and Ric Flair.
Ross, “With me are Bobby Heenan, Ric Flair, and Butch Reed. Gentlemen, this tag team match is the talk of the wrestling world. There are no titles at stake, but the winners tonight will be riding high.”
Heenan, “That’s right Ross, that’s pretty smart for you. My men are winning tonight, there is no doubt about that. If Butch pins cockeyed Duggan, he’ll go away, and we can move on to bigger and better things. If Ric pins that big Texas hick, he has to give us a title shot, and we’ll get that title back.”
Flair, “Windham, we’ve played around long enough! I let you borrow my belt, but you got Texas all over it, that has to stop! I’m talking you to school tonight, and next time, I’m taking the belt, because whether you like it, or not, learn to love it! The ‘Nature Boy’ is the best thing going today! Wooooooooo!”
Ross, “Our main event is next!”

Special Tag Team Mstch
Barry Wndham and Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. “Nature Boy” Ric Flair and Butch Reed w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan
There is a “Big Fight” feel in the Aud. All four men pace back and forth. Earl Hebner is your referee. The bell rings and we are underway. Reed and Duggan start the contest. Both big men crash into each other. Both men are aggressive and vicious. They exchange rights and lefts. Reed whips Duggan into the ropes and goes for a clothesline, but Jim ducks. He comes off the ropes with a shoulder tackle. Reed goes down, and Duggan covers him. Butch kicks out at two. If possible, the intensity picks up. Both Flair and Windham. The two best wrestlers are eye to eye. They lock up. Both men exchange holds and counter holds. Flair appears to be showing Windham he is still on top of his game. Windham matches him move for move. Heenan looks worried at ringside. Windham seems to be gaining the edge. Flair goes to the underhanded tactics. He is “The dirtiest player in the game”. The match begins to breakdown. With chaos in the ring, Flair takes Barry down, and covers him. He uses the ropes for leverage. Alphonso does not see this, and counts the fall! Ric Flair pins the Global Champion! Windham argues, but Hebner saw nothing. Heenan and his men celebrate. “The Nature Boy” is back in the conversation.

Jim Ross, Jesse Ventura, and Gorilla Monsoon close the show.
Ross, “Gentlemen, what a night!”
Ventura, “Ha, don’t tell me Flair is washed up!”
Monsoon, “He cheated Jess!”
Flair barges in and grabs the mic.
Flair, “Windham, I told you! I’m the best in the game! That title is mine! Wooooooooo!”
