US champion Terry Taylor is here as Lance announces he will team with Jimmy Garvin versus Manny Fernandez and Wahoo McDaniel at Starrcade on Tour 3/6 in Augusta. Terry says he does not understand why he is being embroiled in this feud, he won via DQ versus Wahoo in Jacksonville, but he plans to huddle with Jimmy Garvin and Precious and come up with a winning gameplan!

Footage of Jerry Lawler’s first World title defense with Luna at ringside versus Dusty Rhodes in Jacksonville is shown. The match is chock full of Luna interference, between raking the Dream’s eyes, grabbing his foot and distracting the referee, the usual tricks. Rhodes cannot take anymore, and pulls the ropes and Luna flies in, but the ref gets between Luna and Dusty, reminding Dusty of the consequences of striking a woman in WWW! WAIT! This allows Lawler to get behind and roll up Rhodes for the cheap win, 1-2-3!

Dave: “Fans, next week right here on World Wide Wrestling .. . . .. DUSTY RHODES WILL HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT WHAT WE JUST SAW!

My first World Wide episode and I have to say, I love the opening music. Short and repetitive but it got me hooked, capturing some of the terrible music from the era. Loved it. I will say, the graphic however drove me crazy, looking at it for the entire 1:12 as the music played with the huge spacing between the W's and the second letter of each word. Being in printing and working in graphics, I was screaming in my head to tighten up that spacing!

Following the music and seeing we are in Atlanta with Starrcade dates listed for the Eastern corridor from Virginia to Florida, I'm thinking this is NWA/WCW with the labels filed off but then two things stick out with Lance Russell on commentary and Jerry Lawler as your top guy which makes this even more interesting. I'm liking this as it opens up more possibilities. Some Atlanta mixing with Memphis should be pretty good.

Back to Starrcade - I'm thinking Jimmy Valiant pissed off someone to find himself in a Sudanese Death Stretcher match with Abdullah the Butcher. Lawler taking on Rhodes looks like a good one and I can imagine the two of them going back and forth on the mic. The rest of the matches look pretty good to me.

Nice seeing the highlights of the Lawler/Rhodes match so I now understand the dynamics between them. Lawler and Luna is an odd pairing but I like it. Looking forward to their next match. Having Lawler talk made it all clear to a first timer as to what is going on between him and Dusty. Even mentions Baby Doll, so now I know all the players.

Okay, my postcard is on it's way to the Center Stage Theater. Loved the bit and I am thinking they are going to be inundated with postcards from the fans. I think you can really have some fun with this between Garvin and Fernandez.

Simple and clean. I really enjoyed this.
