Portland Wrestling Presents:
THANKSGIVING SPECTACULAR
November 25, 1987
Portland Memorial Coliseum
1. “Dirty”Dutch Mantel pins Bad News Brooks(w/Tennessee Stud”) in 6:47 after a short clothesline.
2.Iceman King Parsons, Bad Leroy Brown, Sam Houston, & Cowboy Scott Casey beat Steve DiSalvo, Kevin Kelly, Akio Sato, & Tarzan Goto(w/Mr.Saito) in 9:22 as Iceman pins Sato after a Butt bump.
3.In a match where Kendo Nagasaki's manager Mr. Fuji is locked in a small cage at ringside, Nagasaki pins Ron Garvin in 10:39 after Ron Fuller interfered on Nagasaki's behalf. The Black Ninja and Tennessee Stud left together, abandoning Fuji in the cage. After a ring attendant finally unlocked the cage, Fuji grabbed a house mic and yelled in Japanese for a few minutes, evidently at Nagasaki. Then, he left the arena, hanging his head...
4.“Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez takes on the Grappler (with /Ron Fuller) in a match where the Bull's hair is on the line against the Grappler's mask! Grappler uses the foreign object in the mask to headbutt Manny to a bloody mess. The Bull comes back, though, and hits the flying burrito for the pin! After the match, the Grappler is true to his word and unmasks, but as soon as the mask comes off, Fuller wraps a towel around Grappler's head and leads him out of the arena!
5.POLE MATCH: Ken Patera vs. Jos LeDuc: A duffle bag containing the $5,000.00 prize that LeDuc offered to anybody who could beat him at arm wrestling is placed at the top of a ten foot pole in one of the corners of the ring. The only way to win is recover the money. LeDuc and Patera basically take turns beating on each other. It looks like curtains for Patera when LeDuc cinches in the bearhug. Amazingly, Patera reverses the hold and squeezes the big Canadian until his body goes limp. Patera drops the seemingly lifeless LeDuc to the canvas! Patera climbs the pole and recovers the money! Ken throws a handfull to the crowd before leaving the arena! In the ring, LeDuc slowly climbs back to his feet. He looks depressed as he climbs out of the ring. Bill Dundee approaches him and they talk for a few minutes, then leave together.
6.Tom Prichard & Cowgirl Wendi Richter vs. Exotic Adrian Street & Miss Linda: A fast paced and exciting match. When the ladies are in, Wendi spends most of her time tossing Linda around by her hair. When the guys are in, it's a wild brawl that continues the feud between Street and Prichard. The end comes when Prichard nails Street with an enzuguri and scores the pin!
7.UNDISPUTED WORLD TITLE MATCH: Dangerous Dan Spivey © vs. Billy Jack Haynes: It's like two Roman gladiators fighting to the death! It looks like Haynes will win as he executes an overhead press slam on Spivey. The World Champion rolls out of the ring and Haynes pursues him, of course. That's a mistake as Spivey slams Haynes facefirst into the ringpost! Haynes is bloody and semiconscious! Spivey powerbombs Haynes ON THE CONCRETE FLOOR!!! Spivey rolls back into the ring and barely beats referee David Manning's count! Spivey retains by countout, but Billy is seriously hurt! Ken Patera, Scott Casey, Ron Garvin, & Sam Houston come out to check on Billy and end up helping EMTs load him onto a gurney! This is unbelieveable. Spivey acts nonchalant about the thing as he holds his title belt above his head and parades around the ring. Is this the end of Portland's favorite son? The crowd is nearly silent as their hero is wheeled out of the arena!
8.BUNKHOUSE BRAWL: As the competitors are introduced, the fans seem to liven up a bit. Most of the wrestlers are dressed in jeans, T shirts, cowboy boots, and have fists taped. Bad News Brooks has his chain, Both Mr. Fuji and Kendo Nagasaki bring kendo sticks. Ronnie Garvin wears a hard hat. Mike Miller wields a 2x4. The bell rings and here we go!!!
ORDER OF ELIMINATION:
1.Adrian Street(by Tom Prichard)
2.Mr. Fuji (by Kendo Nagasaki & Bad News Brooks)
3.CW Bergstrom (by Mike Miller)
At this point, Ron Fuller enters the arena, followed closely by his cousin Jimmy Golden. They are both dressed for the match, but don't enter right away(even though Manny Fernandez holds the ropes open and invites them in). Fuller grabs the house mic...
