I don't have a lot of info on Stampede just prior to the sale to the WWF in 84 / 85, but from the little bit I've been able to find, and looking at my Stampede results, here's what seems to have been going on...
As Summer turned to Fall, Bret Hart returned to Stampede, and joined forces with Dynamite Kid and North American Champ Davey Boy Smith to battle the man Smith won the NA title from, Bad News Allen, along with Ron Starr and Kerry Brown. During this feud, Dynamite Kid and Ron Starr battled in a series of gimmick matches, including some very bloody Chain matches.
The Great Gama and Bruce Hart occasionally got involved in the main feud as well.
I can't find much on the Tag Team title situation at the time, other than the fact that Davey Boy and Dynamite Kid were the Champions.

Yea Chito, take the info you can find, blend it with the roster you ended up with and run with it. Make the history work for what you want to do. Kayfabe is alive and well once again brother, lol.
That being said, I can't wait to see Davey, Bret, and Randy under your pencil. Western Canada will be rocking and rolling son.

Stampede is probably the territory I know the least about. I always like Chito's work, so I know this will be good.

Sorry guys, I think I misunderstood the point, I thought we were using this to fill everyone else in on what had gone on in our promotion, IRL, leading up to when we start booking it. That's why I just put that little bit, instead of making up my own programs.

You did it right Chito! I think the others were just advising you to make your own programs from here on out if you can't find out more info on the real-life feuds.

That's the way I took it too Commish. I've always enjoyed Chito's promotions. And I'm sure this one will be no different. Look forward to reading Savage every week.

Except for a brief stay, on my part, in another land with Chito. This will be my real first experience reading his shows and I am stoked at the prospects of reading his work . Best of luck

I am a huge Chito mark, and Stampede the more I learned about it, the more I wanted to be watching in this period so this is must see for me.
