KENJI WAKABAYASHI and TAKASHI YAMADA open the show.
They welcome us to this week’s episode of World Wrestling Kingdom!
TIGER MASK II beats OSAMU KIDO. We get a contrast of styles here, between Kido, the shoot wrestler, and Tiger Mask who employs a more traditional wrestling style, with some high-flying moves thrown in. TMII shows that he can go hold for hold with Kido on the mat, and gains the upper hand after connecting with a top-rope dropkick! Late in the match, we even see a dive over the top rope from Tiger Mask, onto Kido on the floor!
In the end, Tiger Mask II gets the win when he pins Kido with a Tiger Suplex!
VTR: Last Week on World Wrestling Kingdom:
As the match progresses, Inoki and Fujinami gain the upper hand, and they take turns working over Baba in the ring. At one point, Baba makes it to his corner to tag out, but Tenryu refuses to tag, telling Baba to get back in there and fight!
Finally, Fujinami hits Baba with the Dragon Suplex, and gets the 1, 2, 3!
Afterwards, Tenryu berates Baba, then starts slapping him around! Baba tries to fight back, but in his weakened state, he quickly gets beat down by Tenryu. Genichiro then pulls Baba up, and hits him with an Enziguri, leaving Baba laid out on the mat!
By now, Inoki and Fujinami have returned to the ring, but Tenryu hightails it, and Inoki and Fujinami check on Baba as the show comes to a close.
END VTR
Giant Baba joins Wakabayashi and Yamada on commentary for the next match.
GENICHIRO TENRYU defeats ASHURA HARA. On commentary, Baba says that he wants a match with Tenryu, to get some payback for Tenryu attacking him after last week’s main event!
Hara and Tenryu are both veterans, and they were friends and tag team partners when Hara first signed with All Japan Pro Wrestling after leaving the IWE, and that leads to a familiarity between the two. They seem to sense what the other is going to do, before he even does it!
However, it’s Tenryu’s willingness to break the rules that gives him the advantage here, as Hara tries to keep things scientific. Tenryu gets some shots in with a closed fist, out of view of the referee, and, after wearing Hara down, Tenryu delivers a devastating Powerbomb for the pinfall victory!
After the match, Tenryu motions to Giant Baba at the commentary table, motioning for him to get into the ring. Baba walks over and stands at ringside, the two men jaw back and forth at each other, before Baba heads to the back.

ANTONIO INOKI & TATSUMI FUJINAMI battle TED DIBIASE & STAN HANSEN to a wild DOUBLE COUNT-OUT!
The fans scatter as Hansen swings his bullrope wildly as he and Dibiase make their way to the ring! Once the bell sounds, we start off with Hansen and Inoki, two of the biggest names in the sport in Japan! They’ve had classic matches in the past, and they pick up right where they left off here! Inoki tries to wrestle, but Hansen would rather pummel Inoki! Inoki tags in Fujinami, so Hansen makes the tag to Dibiase, and now we get two of the very best technical wrestlers in the sport going head to head!
Fujinami and Dibiase put on a clinic, trading holds and counterholds, each man seeming to find a counter for whatever the other tries to do!
Dibiase manages to lock Fujinami in the Figure-4 Leglock, but Inoki is in to break that up. Hansen comes in as well, and that’s when things fall apart! We have all four men brawling in the ring, and soon they make their way to the floor.
The referee starts counting, but neither team pays any attention, as they batter each other with anything they can get their hands on! The referee tries to give them some leeway, but they clearly have no interest in getting back into the ring, and finally he reaches 20 and declares the match a double count-out!
Wakabayashi and Yamada wrap things up, and hype next week’s show.

DARK MATCHES:
KEIJI MUTOH & MASAHIRO CHONO defeat DARREN MATTHEWS & KENTA KOBASHI. Matthews and Kobashi wrestled each other on last week’s debut show, and shook hands as a sign of mutual respect afterwards. Now, they’re teaming up, but they fall in defeat to Mutoh and Chono. Mutoh gets the win for the team, hitting Kobashi with a Moonsault for the pinfall.
DYNAMITE KID defeats KEIICHI YAMADA. Yamada is improving with each match, but it’s not enough for him to overcome the veteran Dynamite Kid here, and DK gets the win following the snap suplex and diving headbutt!
NOBUHIKO TAKADA defeats KAZUO YAMAZAKI. Both men are trained in the shoot style of wrestling, and that style is on full display here, as they focus on hard-hitting strikes and submissions. In the end, Takada catches Yamazaki with a brutal Tombstone Piledriver, then applies a cross armbreaker for the submission win!
SHIRO KOSHINAKA defeats FIT FINLAY by Disqualification. We go from a shoot style match, to a Jr heavyweight bout! Finlay ends up getting disqualified when he knocks the referee to the mat, after the ref tried to get him to stop choking Koshinaka in the corner.
