Long-time JWA and NJPW star Seiji Sakaguchi is introduced to the media and fans present at this press conference in Tokyo, Japan.
Sakaguchi says it's an honour to be named the president of this new wrestling enterprise, World Wrestling Kingdom!
He says that WWK will kick off with the Opening Battle '87 on August 21, and the first TV show will air on Saturday, August 28!
The first event, on Saturday, August 21 will take place at the home of pro wrestling in Japan, Korakuen Hall in Tokyo!
On this first show, to kick off the new venture in a big way, fans can see a "dream" match, featuring four of the biggest names in wrestling! On this show, Antonio Inoki will team up with Tatsumi Fujinami, to face Giant Baba and Genichiro Tenryu!
Inoki and Baba are the two biggest stars in Japanese wrestling, and Fujinami and Tenryu are the two men that most experts agree will lead Japanese wrestling into the future!
Sakaguchi then directs everyone's attention to four title belts set up on a side table.
First, we have the WWK World championship belt!
Next is the International championship, currently held by Rick Martel, due to his win over Tully Blanchard on June 13 in Canada. Sakaguchi notes that this is one of the most prestigious titles in wrestling, it goes back to the mid 1950s, and has been held by many legends of the sport, such as Rikidozan, Lou Thesz, and Giant Baba!
The next belt that Sakaguchi presents is the All-Asia championship belt. This is another title that was first established in the 1950s! Kintaro Ohki is the current champion, he won the title in 1981, and since then he's been defending it throughout Asia.
And finally, we have the World Tag Team championship belts.

Sakaguchi says that the World title and World tag team titles are both vacant, but those vacancies will be filled soon. The World champion will be crowned in the King's Road League, which will start on October 2, and the finals will take place on October 31 at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo!
The World tag team champions will be decided in the World Tag League, which will run from November 21 to December 11!
He hopes everyone will join them as they kick off this new venture on August 21 at Korakuen Hall!
