After a highlight & hype video package, Mike McGuirk introduces a special guest to sing our National Anthem...the great SMOKEY ROBINSON!!!



After a soulful rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” (and a HUGE ovation), the action can begin!!!



1.Magnificent Muraco (w/ the Dynasty) pins Jeff Gaylord in 6:27 after a reverse piledriver. Gaylord is game, but with Cornette, the Express, & Lawler cheering him on at ringside. The outcome is a mere formality!

2.Bob Backlund & Mike Graham go to a 15 minute draw with Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin(w/Precious) & Shane Douglas. The bell rings just as Backlund traps Douglas in the crossface chicken wing.

3.Southern Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys beat the New Breed in a title match as Jerry Sags pins Chris Champion after a high risk manuver backfires.

4.Dutch Mantel, American Starship, & Bob Armstrong beat Killer Khan, Tony Anthony, & Hollywood John Tatum(w/ Slick) in 7:59. Mantel pins Anthony after a clothesline in a wild one.

5.Kevin Sullivan, Buzz Sawyer, & Sadistic Steve Strong(w/ Fallen Angel) beat TNT, Jimmy Valiant, & Wildcat Wendell Cooley in 9:07. Sullivan pins Cooley after Sawyer nails him with his dog chain.

6.Bossman Bubba Rogers beats The Great Kokina(w/Slick) via DQ in 8:10 after Killer Khan interferes on Kokina's behalf. American Starship runs in and helps Bubba run the heels away. During the bout, the cameras show Bubba's former classmate Mort and his family cheering for Bubba.

7.In the USWA Tag Team match, special referee Bobo Brazil hasw to count out both the champion Midnight Express and the challengers The Fabulous Ones at the 22:12 mark as the brawl all over the arena! After the match, the Express release Jim Cornette from his straightjacket and the heels protest Bobo's decision. Bobby Eaton gets physical with Brazil and gets a coco butt for his trouble! Stan & Steve come to Bobo's aid and run Cornette and the Express away!

8.“Mr. Perfect” Jerry Stubbs (w/Baby Doll) beats Auistin Idol in 24:07 to win the USWA TV Title . Stubbs gets the pin after nailing Idol with a foreign object that Baby Doll handed to him! Jimmy Valiant comesd out to protest on behalf of Idol and he gets nailed by the object, too!

9.Jerry Lawler (w/Jim Cornette) pins Brad Armstrong (w/ Bob Armstrong) in 23:12. The King rolls Brad up for the pin after he is distracted by Muraco jumping Bob from behind! Austin Idol and the Fabs come out to help the Armstrongs and that lead to Bobby & Dennis joining in! We have a brawl for several minutes before referee Jerry Calhoun and his cohorts Nick Patrick and Rick Hazzard, along with USWA PresidentJim Crockett restore order! Lance catches up to the Dynasty in the locker room where they say that they are the USWA! Lawler tells Armstrong that he has nothing left to prove against him and warns Idol & the fabs to stay out of Dynasty business!

It's like can you top this on the national anthems! Smokey Robinson, I'll take it.

Magnificent Muraco here is going to be trouble for anybody that gets in The Dynasty's way. Hard to call Muraco a henchman as he's above that so I'm thinking he could take aim at some of the gold they haven't yet claimed.

The draw ending the match as Bob Backlund puts Shane Douglas in the chicken wing is a good way for a sort of visual win without it being a win. I don't know if Backlund should beat Douglas in this feud, really depends on your long term plans, so that was a great way of sort of doing it without actually doing it.

The Nasty Boys make a solid #2 for now under The Midnight Express and a great contrast. Midnights were so great while The Nasties are the opposite, just brawlers.

Dutch Mantel getting some revenge on Slick's crew is good to see but not sure if that will be enough to end the rivalry yet.

Kevin Sullivan and company are looking good as well. Interested to see what's next for Jimmy Valiant on the losing side there.

Hard to have Kokina beat Bossman Bubba Rogers here again without the Yokozuna style megapush accompanying it so a DQ lets Bossman get some revenge while he saves face. Wondering what will come of Mort and family in the crowd. I'm picturing like a Fred Ottman type or something and one day the heels take it too far so he jumps the rail for the save! lol

The tag team match would have been great and again, it protects the finish while giving something away at the same time. This feud is red hot and can draw again and then some so the double count out third from the top helps do that but then Bobo Brazil throwing out a coco butt on Bobby Eaton would be a great pop where you're not even remembering the result anymore.

Guess I didn't have to wait long on Valiant after all. Really liking what you're doing with Jerry Stubbs and he's got some great names to work with to sell the package.

I don't know what I'd have left as a fan for that main event. Jerry Lawler is really being set up to look like a million bucks here, beating Brad Armstrong, even with a ton of help. It almost seems like this is building to a War Games or something. With Muraco there, I really don't see who will be able to step up to Lawler and pose a serious threat.

After being away a few months, I see the action continues in the USWA. I enjoy seeing Jerry Stubbs with Baby Doll. And the tag match with the Midnight Express & Fabulous Ones would have brought down the house. Fun show.
I am curious about the current time frame change to Portland Wrestling though. I hope you are going to enjoy it there.
