Watching President Biden lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier(that's as political as this will get) triggered a childhood memory.

When I was a little boy, I'd read these comics:


I was dumb enough to believe they were true stories and the star of these comics was buried in Washington as an honored hero!

As someone who sells comics nowadays I can tell ya Grigs you aren’t the only one! I have heard that same story at several conventions!

On a somewhat related note, I used to coach basketball with a guy that had been a guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns. He was also a member of the President’s honor guard. He was an older gentleman, our head Coach always said, “Yea, Boehmer used to guard the President, but they fired him when Lincoln got shot.”
