From DJ Peterson's Wikipedia entry: "During the mid-1980s, Peterson briefly appeared in Fritz von Erich's World Class Championship Wrestling defeating Jack Victory on February 7 and Prairie States Wrestling against Ox Baker on July 23 before wrestling in the Mid-South area and, by early 1986, for Bill Watts' Universal Wrestling Federation facing wrestlers such as Gustavo Mendoza"
Prairie States was strictly a fantasy promotion in the old WCFL. Guess it was very convincing...

I remember our old friend Polish Powder Keg saying he was friends with Jerry Jaffe/Jerry Graham Jr. on the old NWA Classics board I had written a show from Cobo Hall with Graham beating Denny Alberts. PPK said when he saw Jafffe he had printed out the show and said, "I don't think I ever wrestled Denny at Cobo."

Sometimes some of the event posters Grey Ghost had made for his WCFL Mid South shows back in '01 will turn up on a Facebook group I'm in and cause all sorts of confusion before I chime in and explain our little hobby...

Greg Price had me have a conversation with Johnny Mantell once cause Mantell was upset that we were posting fake results in the NWA Classic part of the board

Then there was the time that the late Ken Timbs showed up on Wrestling Classics demanding to know why the Fabulous Blondes weren't WCFL World Tag Team Champions!

I think it was him who complained that he and Rufus Jones weren't headlining some show in Central States.

Nah, Rufus was too big of a star and didn’t have a high enough work rate for Red, Burrhead Jones on the other hand.......

Just imagine Burrhead vs. Puppy Dog Peloquin selling out houses all over the territory.

Nah, Rufus was too big of a star and didn’t have a high enough work rate for Red, Burrhead Jones on the other hand....... Red always corrected anybody who didn't refer to Rufus as "the King". He was a huge mark for the ol' Freight Train...
