CHRIS CRUISE opens the show from ringside, and introduces his co-host, RAYMOND ROUGEAU.
CRUISE and ROUGEAU welcome us to GM Place in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia for this special broadcast of Saturday Night Supercade!
Three NWA titles will be on the line tonight . . . the Ultimate Warrior meets Unabomb in a tournament final for the vacant NWA North American title . . . Rick and Scott Steiner defend the NWA World Tag titles against the Heavenly Bodies . . . and the big one, Terry Funk defends the NWA World heavyweight title against “Double J” Jeff Jarrett!
CRUISE says that there’s nowhere else in Canada where the fans can get matches of this calibre on free TV!
ROUGEAU notes that a familiar face is seated ringside, right by them, who’s known worldwide as one half of the Natural Disasters, and hails from right here in Vancouver . . . EARTHQUAKE!
Ray and Chris go over to where ‘Quake is sitting and chat with him.
EARTHQUAKE says that he retired from pro wrestling, and moved back home to Vancouver. He says that he’s looking forward to tonight’s show, just like he’s looking forward to watching the Vancouver Canucks win their first Stanley Cup this season!
That gets a HUGE pop from the Vancouver crowd!
CRUISE and ROUGEAU thank ‘Quake for his time, then send us to pre-recorded comments from the ULTIMATE WARRIOR regarding his match tonight.
WARRIOR says he will defeat Unabomb tonight for the North American title, and he’ll do it for all his little Warriors out there!
MATCH #1
12-MAN OVER THE TOP BATTLE ROYAL
Participants: King Kong Bundy, Jacques Rougeau, Johnny Gunn, Cowboy Rick Casey, Virgil, Steven Dunn, Cowboy Lance Cassidy, Rick Titan, Timothy Well, Pierre Rougeau, Acadian Giant and NWA TV Champ Chris Candido
A melee breaks out as soon as the bell sounds, as all 12 men attack each other, and immediately start trying to throw each other over the top rope. We don’t see any eliminations for the first few minutes, but there are a few who come close. The first two eliminations take place at the same time, around the 4-minute mark, as VIRGIL and STEVEN DUNN eliminate each other. They brawl along the ropes, each trying to push the other over the top, and both men end up tumbling over the top rope and to the floor.
About 30 seconds later, COWBOY LANCE CASSIDY is tossed over the top rope by King Kong Bundy. Just like that, we’re down to 9 wrestlers left.
JOHNNY GUNN is the next to go when Candido nails him with a dropkick that sends Gunn tumbling over the top. COWBOY RICK CASEY is eliminated next, followed by TIMOTHY WELL at around the 7-minute mark.
We’re down to the final 6 wrestlers . . . Jacques and Pierre Rougeau, King Kong Bundy, the Acadian Giant, Canadian Titan, and TV Champ Chris Candido.
RICK TITAN is the next to go, as Bundy and Candido join up to eliminate Titan. At this point, with 5 wrestlers left, the Rougeaus join forces with Acadian Giant to battle Candido and Bundy. While Bundy brawls with the Acadian Giant, Jacques and Pierre Rougeau try to eliminate Candido. They’ve got Candido up on the ropes, but Chris wisely hooks his arms and legs around the ropes, so the Rougeaus can’t get him out.
Bundy knocks the Giant down, and then comes over to help Candido. He knocks Pierre aside, then shoves both JACQUES ROUGEAU and CHRIS CANDIDO over the top! Bundy then grabs PIERRE ROUGEAU and tosses him over the top as well!
It’s down to the two biggest men in the NWA, King Kong Bundy and the nearly 7’ Acadian Giant. The two men brawl in the middle of the ring, both men making sure to stay away from the ropes. The Acadian Giant gets the upper hand, and stuns Bundy with several forearm smashes to the head. With Bundy stunned, the Giant bounces off the ropes and delivers a big boot to the chin that sends Bundy reeling.
Bundy staggers backwards, leaning up against the ropes. The Giant then charges at him, and delivers a huge clothesline . . . and Bundy goes over the top rope!!!
The Acadian Giant has won the Battle Royal!
Bundy lands on the outside just a few feet from where Earthquake is sitting. Earthquake is on his feet, cheering for his fellow Canuck, but Bundy doesn’t take too kindly to that.
Bundy gets in Earthquake’s face. The two behemoths argue . . . and Bundy sucker punches ‘Quake!
Security quickly arrives on the scene, along with several referees, and they pull Bundy.

MATCH #2:
RICK TITAN beats THE WARLORD. The powerful Warlord gives Titan some anxious moments, but in the end, the Calgary native dives off the top rope with a clothesline for the 1, 2, 3!
CHRIS CRUISE and RAY ROUGEAU talk about the next match. The only thing they know about it is that Johnny Gunn will be wrestling someone that Harvey Whippleman has brought to Canada!
Before the introductions for the match, HARVEY WHIPPLEMAN comes out to the broadcast table at ringside, and talks about his newest find, who he refers to as MORTIS. Harvey says that Mortis was a pit fighter in Malaysia, and he got his name after killing an opponent during one of his fights. He says that the man is as vicious and bloodthirsty as they come, and that Mortis’ only pleasure in life comes from making other people suffer!
VS.
MATCH #3:
MORTIS (w/ Harvey Whippleman) beats JOHNNY GUNN. Gunn hardly stands a chance against the mysterious Mortis, who uses brawling tactics, mixed with some martial arts moves, to wear Gunn down. Mortis then hits the Flatliner for the pinfall.
Mortis hits a second Flatliner after the match, and Gunn is taken from the ring on a stretcher!
Footage is shown of Rick & Scott Steiner defeating the Bruise Brothers for the SMW tag titles, which are then renamed the NWA World Tag Team titles. From there, we see the Heavenly Bodies confronting the Steiners on TV. Footage is then shown of the Heavenly Bodies in action. The video ends with a clip from a backstage interview with Prichard and Del Ray, where they challenge the Steiners to a match.

MATCH #4
NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
RICK & SCOTT STEINER (Champs) V. THE HEAVENLY BODIES (Tom Prichard & Jimmy Del Ray). This match is fast-paced and hard hitting right from the opening bell, and neither team lets up at all for the entire match. The Steiners have the early advantage, but the Bodies keep fighting back. Around the 10-minute mark, the Heavenly Bodies take over, and are able to isolate Rick in their corner. For the next few minutes, Prichard and Del Ray keep Rick in the corner, and work him over, using quick tags and plenty of double-teaming. Scott tries to come in several times to help his brother, only to be forced out of the ring by the referee, which gives the Bodies the opportunity to double-team Rick.
Rick takes a beating from the challengers, and things bleak for the Champions, but Rick seems to get his second wind, and he ducks a double clothesline attempt from the Bodies, and then bounces off the ropes and drops both Prichard and Del Ray with clotheslines. Rick rushes to his corner, and makes the hot tag to Scott, who comes in and pounds both Prichard and Del Ray into the mat.
The referee is able to get Prichard out of the ring, leaving Del Ray, the legal man, in the ring with Scott. Scott tosses Del Ray around like a ragdoll, and whips him into the corner. Scott stands on the second turnbuckle and starts punching Del Ray, but Prichard comes over, and punches Scott, causing him to fall backwards off the turnbuckle. Del Ray quickly grabs Scott’s legs and rolls him up in a pinning predicament, with both of Del Ray’s feet on the second rope for leverage. Referee Dave Hebner makes the count . . .

We see a video highlighting the recent altercations between NWA Champ Terry Funk and his challenger tonight, “Double J” Jeff Jarrett! We see Jarrett debuting a few weeks ago on television, and attacking Funk after a title defence. From there, we see footage of the two men brawling in the backstage area recently.
STAN LANE is backstage in the locker room with the new NWA World Tag Team Champions, the Heavenly Bodies. Prichard and Del Ray are ecstatic, and say that they knew it all along, that they are the superior team, and now everyone else knows it too!

MATCH #5
NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP:
TERRY FUNK (Champ) V. “DOUBLE J” JEFF JARRETT (w/ Capt. Lou Albano). There’s no feeling out process here, as Funk tears right into Jarrett as soon as the bell sounds. Jarrett wisely bails out of the ring and talks strategy with Albano at ringside, but Funk follows him out, and grabs ahold of both Albano and Jarrett, and slams their heads together, before rolling Jarrett back into the ring.
Jarrett quickly backs up, on his knees, into the corner, begging for mercy. Funk ignores him and moves in to attack, but Jarrett grabs him by the trunks and pulls Funk, head-first, into the turnbuckle. Jarrett then hits a low blow that drops Funk, and quickly makes a cover, but Funk kicks out at 1.
Jarrett stays on the offensive and he has the advantage for the next few minutes, wearing Funk down. Jarrett focuses on the knee of the Champion, looking to soften him up for the Figure-4. The first time Jarrett tries the Figure-4, Funk grabs him by the hair and rolls him up for a VERY close nearfall. Funk takes control of the match after that, and works over Jarrett for the next few minutes.
When the match moves to the floor, Capt. Lou gets involved, distracting Funk, and allowing Jarrett to attack from behind. Jarrett slams Funk on the floor, then pulls back the blue mats on the floor, and lifts Funk’s leg up, repeatedly driving it down, knee-first, into the floor. Jarrett then rolls Funk back into the ring, and from the floor, grabs Funk’s legs and drags him to the turnbuckle. Jarrett the proceeds to wrap Funk’s knee around the ringpost!
Jarrett climbs back into the ring and continues to work on the knee of the Champion. He repeatedly stomps at the knee, and drapes it over the bottom rope, jumping up and coming down with all his weight on Funk’s knee! The Champion is able to make a comeback, and stuns Jarrett with rights and lefts, but when he scoops Jarrett up for a slam, his knee gives out and Funk falls to the mat, with Jarrett landing on top of him for a close nearfall.
Funk tries to get back to his feet, but Jarrett kicks the injured leg out from under him, and then slaps on the Figure-4, right in the middle of the ring! Funk tries desperately to break the hold, but Jarrett just cinches it in even tighter. Funk passes out from the pain, falling back onto the mat, where his shoulders are counted down for the 1, 2, 3!
JEFF JARRETT IS THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!!!!
Jarrett celebrates with the belt as the referee calls for medical personnel for Terry Funk. Moments later, Funk is able to get to his feet, and limps back to the dressing room.
CRUISE and ROUGEAU talk about the fact that we’ve seen two titles change hands, and a new Champion will be crowned in the final match as well, which will feature the tournament final for the vacant NWA British Commonwealth title.

MATCH #6
TOURNAMENT FINAL FOR THE NWA NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP:
THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR V. UNABOMB (w/ Harvey Whippleman). Unabomb comes out first, then the crowd errupts as the Warrior’s music hits, and he charges down the ramp, shakes the ropes, and then climbs into the ring, where he runs around like a lunatic. Unabomb just stands in the corner, and watches.
Unabomb waits until Warrior climbs up onto the turnbuckle to acknowledge his legions of fans, and Unabomb takes the opportunity to attack Warrior from behind. Unabomb pulls Warrior off the turnbuckle by his hair, and puts the boots to him. Unabomb spends the first few minutes of the match pummeling his opponent, and Warrior just can’t seem to get any offence going.
That changes around the 6-minute mark, when Unabomb goes for a big boot, but Warrior catches his foot, then spins Unabomb around, and drops him with a clothesline. From there, Warrior runs the ropes, and when Unabomb gets to his feet, Warrior launches himself at Unabomb, and connects with the diving shoulderblock.
From there Warrior runs the ropes again, and hits the running splash! Just as Warrior connects with the splash, MORTIS hits the ring and, with Whippleman shouting instructions, Mortis delivers a kneedrop to the back of the Warrior’s head, as Warrior has Unabomb covered.
Referee Mark Curtis calls for the bell, and disqualifies Unabomb, which means that the Ultimate Warrior is the new NWA North American Champion!
Unabomb doesn’t seem to care, though. He tosses Curtis out of the ring, then Unabomb and Mortis start pounding the Warrior into the mat.
But look who’s rushing to the ring, it’s THE ACADIAN GIANT! Giant climbs into the ring and goes after Unabomb, as Warrior recovers and hits Mortis with a clothesline that sends him out of the ring.
Whippleman gets his men together on the floor, and the three of them head for the locker room, leaving the Ultimate Warrior and the Acadian Giant standing tall in the ring!
CHRIS CRUISE and RAY ROUGEAU wrap things up, and thank the fans for tuning into Saturday Night Supercade! They remind the fans to tune in next Friday night, right here on TSN, for Total Non-stop Action for all the fallout from tonight’s show!
