In addition to that blockbuster main event, we have SCOTT NORTON meeting ECW’S BRIMSTONE in a LUMBERJACK MATCH that will see members of the Rick Rude/Curt Hennig team as well as The Dark Circle of Doom members serving as Lumberjacks, that one pwomises to get wild and wooly, to get funky like a monkey, rite here on the Superstation, live and in color, if ya wheel. Match 1
Iaukea and Rosey, Dem Aloha Boys, with the Godfather Samu in the corner took on The Silver Bullets to kick things off. Titanium and Chrome battled tough, but the Island Boys are looking to impress Magnum T.A. and join the Steiners on TEAM WCW and definitely raised some eyebrows with their Super Samoan Driver/Superfly Splash combination finisher for a big victory!

We return from break and Mauro Ranallo is standing by with the WCW Television Champion of the World Diamond Dallas Page. We see footage from a couple of weeks ago where DDP mentioned the names of Tully Blanchard, Dusty Rhodes, and Stunning Steve Austin, saying he wanted to go down as the greatest World TV Champ of all time, and then we cut to this past Wednesday on ECW Television where apparently his words had not fallen on deaf ears, and the man who NEVER said I Quit to Magnum T.A. issued a personal challenge to DDP, not one about championships, but one about pride.
DDP says that it’s quite the honor to even be mentioned in such a way by Tully Blanchard. In the early to mid 80’s, when Page was running nightclubs on the Jersey Shore he hoped to be as cool as Tully Blanchard, hell Mauro, he is the reason I went lookin’ for my first Perfect 10. All things being even Page thinks that’s a helluva idea, Tulls, DDP get’s to test himself against an all-time great, Blanchard get’s to test himself against the cream of the new crop, and when it’s over Tully, ol’ DDP will give you a high five, but it will be after you have felt the BANG!
Match 2
Don ‘the Natural’ Callous leads his Familia Nacido de Llamas to the ring for a tag team encounter against the veteran duo of Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton, The Fantastics. Rogers is able to keep pace with Psychosis and La Parka, and Fulton gets the crowd rallied after a flurry of offense. A hair pull from the outside by Psy is able to reverse the momentum of the contest and Familia finishes off Fulton in devastating fashion as La Parka has Fulton locked in the Tequila Sunrise Deathlock and Psychosis delivers his Guillotine Leg Drop to the back of his head from the top rope! Referee Randy Anderson had seen enough at that point and called for the bell!
International Wrestling and Broadcast Journalist Mauro Ranallo is now joined by WCW Vice President Magnum T.A. who mentions how excited he is about the International Dream Matches that will be coming up in just a few minutes, and how even more excited he is about WCW/ECW Showdown in Charlotte, as quite frankly this pay-per-view has set the wrestling world completely abuzz, every website, every magazine, every media outlet is all over this thing. Ric Flair vs. Arn Anderson, Steamboat vs. Savage, the Loser Trades Promotions match, The Return of the Steiner Brothers, the list goes on and on. Maggie says that after careful consideration he has decided that he will indeed give IAUKEA and ROSEY, DEM ALOHA BOYS, their first huge break and putting them on TEAM WCW as they will unite with the Steiner Brothers to take on TEAM ECW in an 8-man elimination tag team bout, now guy’s WCW has given you the stage, go out and make a name for yourself. Mauro put’s over the PPV a little bit more before the break, promising KOJI KANEMOTO AND CHRIS JERICHO ONE ON ONE WHEN WE RETURN FROM BREAK!!!

David Penzer: Ladies and gentlemen the following contest on Nitro is scheduled for one fall, once the bell rings WCW Senior Official Nick Patrick will be in charge of the action. Introducing first he hails from Yokohama, Japan and weighed in at 226 lbs. He is the reigning IWGP JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, and the 1995 Japanese United Media, Junior Heavyweight of the Year, he is, Kid Dynamite, KOJI KANEMOTO! And his opponent is from Long Island, New York and also weighs in at 226 lbs. He is the former INTER-PROMOTIONAL and TELEVISION CHAMPION OF THE WORLD; he is the LIONHEART, CHRIS JER-I-CHO!!!
Kanemoto fires early and often at Jericho, he is as educated with his feet as he is with his hands, but the Long Island Loud Mouth is well aware of how dangerous Kid Dynamite is. Jericho covers up well, catches a kick, and grounds the Japanese Jr. Heavyweight Champion. The Hart Dungeon product knows where his bread is buttered and goes to work. Kanemoto and Jericho counter, bridge, and reverse one another until Jericho catches Koji in the tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, which he quickly follows up with the Lionsault, he hooks the leg, 1……2…….NO! Jericho puts his knee in the middle of Koji’s back, and wrenches on a chinlock, but did not account for the educated feet of Kid Dynamite who blasts his way free. Jumping, spinning thrust kick to the sternum drops Jericho, Koji hits the ropes, power-drive elbow, he hooks the leg, 1…….2……….NO! Jericho kicks out.
Kanemoto locks up both of the Loud Mouth’s arms behind his back, he pops his hips, DRAGON SUPLEX, with a bridge, 1……2…… NO! Koji has one foot on the gas pedal and the other on the throat of Jericho, and that is when the former television champion shows the mean streak that brought him to the dance as he rakes the eyes, boots his opponent in the gut, and drives him face first into the mat. “C’MON BABY!” Jericho doesn’t even get a one count with his posing pinfall attempt, Kanemoto quickly hops right to his feet, grabbing the foot that was across his chest, DRAGON SCREW LEG WHIP! Kid Dynamite goes for the Inverted Muta Deathlock, but Jericho pulls him in tight, INSIDE CRADLE, 1………2……..3! He got him!
Colonel Robert E. Lee Parker welcomes everyone to the Smoking Section, his Unified Tag Team Champions of the World, Big Bubba and Tony Anthony has their smoking jacket’s on. The Stud Stable says that life sure is good from atop the wrestling world. They have emptied WCW’s stacked tag team division, and now they get to sit back, pick their shots, and beat up who we wanna beat up, when we wanna beat em up, says the Colonel. Bubba chuckles and agrees, and says that there is one so-called legend that he hasn’t beaten up since they were cartoon characters in a land far, far, away. That’s right, Dusty Rhodes, Big Bubba Rogers has decided that you deserve some hard time!
Here comes The American Dream, he has obviously had enough of the Parker and Bubba’s threats and pokes, he is waving his finger and reading the riot act to Southern Justice, when from behind the missing member of the Stud Stable, ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Eaton, jumps his long time nemesis from behind! The entire Stud Stable put the boots to Dusty, finally Ricky Steamboat, Diamond Dallas Page, and Doug Dillinger’s super security squad finally run Parker and Co. off, but the damage has been done!

The Taylor Made Man joins Zbyszko and Schiavone in the booth. Tony says that the medical staff are trying to check out the American Dream who is more mad than hurt according to all sources, and says that Parker, and the Stud Stable have made a big mistake. The guys hype the rest of the show, and especially the Randy Savage WCW appearance in the main event teaming with Ricky Steamboat. Terry Taylor runs down the list of Lumberjacks in the Scott Norton/Brimstone encounter coming up shortly and points out how interesting it is for THE ALL-AMERICAN RON SIMMONS to be lumberjacking, and yet not a part of either team for whatever match that the Dark Circle of Doom and the team of WCW World Heavyweight Champion Curt Hennig and ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude. Right now though it’s time for the 2nd International Dream Match!
DP: Introducing first, from Blackpool, England; he weighed in at 18 stone and 2 lbs., he is the former Eastern States and World Television Champion, he is WILLIAAAAAM REGAAAAL. And his opponent is from the land of the rising sun, he weighed in at 234 lbs. and is a former IWGP Jr. Heavyweight and Tag Team Champion. SHINJIRO OHHHHHTANI!
Ohtani begins tentatively but is able to avoid giving up any dominant positions to Regal, who in turn decided to strike and blasted away at Ohtani with forearms and Euro uppercuts. Ohtani returned the favor with uppercuts of his own and a leaping thrust kick that dropped Regal! Ohtani drops down and flips over, jackknife cover, 1……..2, Regal bridges up, reverses out. As the two former champions jockey for the backslide, Regal swings out again, puts his foot to the back of Shinjiro’s knee to break him down. Top wrist-lock take down from Regal who also laces the legs of his opponent and has Ohtani in a serious uncling situation as Dusty might say.
Ohtani get’s to the ropes and rolls to the floor, but is quickly followed by Regal, but he gets immediately dropkicked in the shins! Ohtani hops back up onto the apron and delivers a knee drop to the heart of Regal on the floor! The former Jr. Heavyweight Champion rolls Regal back in, and is going for the STF! But Regal is fighting it, finally he rolls to his back and kicks Ohtani away. The Japanese stand out attempts another knee drop after springboarding off the middle rope, but eats a HUGE European uppercut for his troubles! Ohtani is lying flat, and Regal locks him, REGAL STRETCH STF! Ohtani howls in pain as he reaches for the ropes, but they are just out of reach and he has no choice but to tap!

The team of Reno Riggins and The Gambler are in for a short night of work as they take on the Stinger and the Total Package, who are fired up and ready to go. Tony, Larry, and Terry discuss Sting and Luger’s incessant pleas to JJ Dillon to give them Wargames in just over 3 weeks at Fall Brawl, as the pair of former Heavyweight Champions of the World hit all of their trademark offense before getting dueling submissions with the Human Torture Rack and Scorpion Death Lock.
WCW Correspondent Kimberly is standing by with WCW Generation NeXt Champion Lance Storm and his painted pal The Fallen Angel who say that they still have their sights firmly set on the Highlight Express. Storm says that he knows that the line of challengers to his title is deep and talented and he is ready and able to defend against anyone, anytime, anyplace. Including this coming up Sunday in Charlotte at one of the biggest pay-per-views of all time.
Penzer: The following contest of Nitro is scheduled for one fall and is an ECW vs. WCW LUMBERJACK MATCH! When the bell rings your referee in charge of the action will be Randy Anderson. Introducing first, the lumberjacks. From Robbinsdale, MN ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude and the Heavyweight Champion of the World Curt Hennig. From Marietta, Georgia Buff Bagwell. From Battlecreek, MI Rob Van Dam… And from Warner-Robbins, Georgia, The All-American Ron Simmons!
Voodoo drums and lighting effect start to go off as Papa Shango and The Taskmaster lead out their Dark Circle of Doom, Hugh Morrus, Meng, Pogo the Clown, Blackjack Windham, and the Ringmaster Matt Bourne.
DP: And now your competitors. Introducing first from the Bowels of Hell, he weighs in at over 300 lbs. he is the ‘Dark Prophet’ BRIMSTONE! And his opponent hails from the great state of Minnesota and weighs in at 350 lbs., he is the former WCW United States Heavyweight Champion SCOTT NORTON!!
vs
The two bulls lock horns in the center of the ring and battle back and forth before locking up in a test of strength. Neither man is able to gain the advantage, and each man goes for a boot to the gut, which breaks up the knuckle lock. They both go to the eyes, and after a moment of recouping both men go for a clothesline that leaves both men in the middle of the ring. Ron Simmons is keeping to himself in one corner as Rude, Hennig, RVD, and Bagwell are huddled up keeping a close eye on the ominous Dark Circle of Doom. Rude approaches Simmons who only appears to be half interested in what’s being said as Papa and Sullivan ease closer and closer.
Meanwhile Norton takes the fight to Brimstone and locks the big man in a bear hug! He’s putting the squeeze on the Dark Prophet as Brimstone begins hammering away, trying to alleviate the pressure. Rude and Shango begin arguing, with only Simmons standing between them, and the Florida State Hall of Famer has had enough and tells em both, to step back. RVD takes the opportunity to get in front of the camera and do his pointing pose as a group of fans oblige him, R-V-D, and that’s when HUGH MORRUS PUNCHES HIM IN HIS SMILING FACE!
As the fight goes down on the floor, Ron Simmons washes his hands of the situation, and turns to leave. Shango grabs Hennig by the throat and unleashes his Voodoo Mist, but the Champion ducks it, and SIMMONS GETS BLINDED BY SHANGO! Big Ron is swinging wild and laying EVERYONE down at ringside! Big Scott and Brimstone take their fight to the floor and the referee finally throws the contest out, but the story here is, who is going to stop the RAMPAGING RON SIMMONS, who has clotheslined each member of the Dark Circle of Doom, before being grabbed by the monster Meng!

We return from break and Tony is talking over a replay of the fight continuing during the break, and finally being broken up by Doug Dillinger’s super security squad. Schiavone, Zbyszko, and Taylor do not envy Eric Bischoff, JJ Dillon, and Magnum T.A.’s job of having to design a contest between those groups and possibly maintain some semblance of control. Right now we are just moments away from Kevin Sullivan and Hugh Morrus meeting Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat, and the guys discuss the possible dynamics we could see between Savage and Steamboat. They mention that win or lose Steamboat will be on ECW this Wednesday Night to renew his rivalry with Chris Benoit from last fall. Zbyszko accurately points out Savage’s unpredictable history in this sport, and says that the Eastern States Champ will likely be more focused on getting his win back on Steamboat at the PPV than picking up a tag team win outside of his home promotion…
Penzer: Ladies and gentlemen this is your Nitro main event and is scheduled for one fall with tv time remaining. When the bell rings, the third man in the ring will be Randy Anderson. Introducing first, being accompanied to the ring by the Tongan Torture Machine Meng, they are HUGH MORRUS and KEVIIIIN SULLLLLIVAN! And their opponents; first from Sarasota, Fl. He weighed in at 238 lbs. and is the former Heavyweight Champion of the World. He is the current Eastern States Heavyweight Champion, he is MACHO MAN RANDYYYYY SAV-AGE! And his partner is from Charlotte, N.C. and weighed in at 233 lbs. He is also a former World Heavyweight Champion and the reigning United States Heavyweight Champion, he is THE DRAGON, RICKKKKKY STEAMBOATTT!

Savage and Steamboat stare each other in the eye as Macho politely asks to start the match, the veteran made the mistake of turning his back on Hugh Morrus. The big man has Savage down and takes him over to the waiting arms of the Taskmaster. They put Randy in the Tree of Woe and put the boots to him. Steamboat has seen enough and races across the ring taking the fight to Sullivan, but is escorted out by Anderson, leaving his partner open to the double team. Sullivan hits the double foot stomp on Savage but only gets a count of 2. Randy fires up and battles his way back into the contest, finally making it to his corner and tagging in Steamboat who comes in a house of fire.
The Dragon is only able to take the fight to Morrus and Sullivan so long before he ventures too close to the ropes and is grabbed by the monster Meng. Savage sees it and flies across the ring, and dives out onto Meng! Morrus comes up behind Steamboat, but the US Champion senses it, spins behind Morrus and rolls him up, but gets a big boot to the head from Sullivan. Now here comes Savage back to save Steamboat, and takes Sullivan to the outside. Steamboat goes back to work on Morrus and then ascends to the top rope, he is going to put Hugh away. But on the floor Savage is taking a beating at the hands of Sullivan and Meng, what will the Dragon do?
He flies off the top rope and down onto MENG AND SULLIVAN! As those four fight on the floor, Randy Anderson’s count is on, he reaches 10 and declares Morrus and Sullivan the winners of the match!
All make their way to ringside now, and Savage and Steamboat are cornered!
BUT HERE COMES MORE TROUBLE
Savage and Steamboat fight their way back into the center of the ring and are standing back to back. They turn and look one another in the eye. Savage says something, which gives Steamboat the noodle neck as he responds aggressively to say the least. Randy spins around, he throws his arms to the side, and bites down on his lip as he waves his finger in the face of the Dragon! Steamboat slaps his hand down and puts his finger right into Savage’s face! These champions and legends square off in the middle of the ring and appear to be near blows, but here comes Hugh Morrus and Buff Bagwell battling one another, right into Savage and Steamboat, who decide to take their frustrations out on the youngsters instead! They throw Hugh out on one side, Bagwell out on the other, and go nose to nose in the center of the ring…
