I mean physically off, we know he is always mentally off, anyway when we launched ESPN 2 seven months ago we promised you the ‘Deuce’ would be on the cutting edge of sports and entertainment programming. In just a few days we will add another program along that same line. We are partnering with ‘American Championship Wrestling’ to bring the best of professional wrestling to you on a weekly basis. Beginning on Saturday night, May 14, and every Saturday night after that ‘ACW’ will be on the ‘Deuce’. Let’s go to Craig Johnson for more information.”

Johnson, “Welcome everyone I am Craig Johnson and I am the voice of ‘ACW’. Every week I, along with my broadcast partners, Joe Pedicino and Boni Blackstone, will call the action here on ESPN 2. We are on the cutting edge of 90’s pro wrestling. With that said, wrestling has a rich history and we want to draw from that history. The man who will head ‘ACW’ is a legend in the sport, the only man to hold the World Title seven times, the Commissioner of ‘ACW’, Harley Race.”

Race comes out shakes hands with Johnson and sits down beside him.



Johnson, “Mr. Race welcome to the studio. We are glad to have someone with your reputation heading up this organization.”

Race, “Thank you Craig. It is an honor to be chosen to be the first Commissioner of ‘ACW’. The wrestling world is changing and we must change with it. With that said, wrestling owes a debt to the past and we can’t forget that. I am here to make sure we move forward, but that we honor the history of the sport as well.’

Johnson, “I know you will do just that. In the coming weeks Mr. Race will lay the groundwork of our organization. We will make several announcements in the coming days concerning event schedules, title and other important news. We need wrestlers to provide us with the in-ring action. My broadcast partner, Boni Blackstone, is with the ‘Virtual Warrior’ Wolf Hawkfield.”

We see Boni with Wolf Hawkfield.



Boni, “With me is the ‘Virtual Warrior’ Wolf Hawkfield. Wolf tell us about yourself.”

Hawkfield, “I am the ‘Virtual Warrior’ Wolf Hawkfield. I was born in the frozen wilds of Canada. I lived in the wild, I hunted, fished and lived by my wits. A wrestling trainer, on a hunting trio, found me and took me to the gym and trained me. I took to wrestling like I took to the outdoors. I am a highly trained fighting machine. I want to assure the fans I stand for honor and fair play. I will fight the evil elements of pro wrestling and I will use my skills to climb to the top of the sport. I will count on the fans support and with their help, I will reign supreme in the ring.”

Boni, “Mr. Hawkfield is very confident. I can’t wait to see him in action. Now let’s go to Joe Pedicio with Brother Love.”

Joe Pedicio is with Brother Love and his entourage, “Big Bully” Nick Busick, Tex Slazanger, Shanghai Pierce and Boy Tony.



Pedicino, “Brother Love you have brought your entourage to ‘ACW’.”

Love, “Joe Pedicio I loooove yooooou and there is so much of you to love! I have brought my men to ESPN 2. So many people have never felt the love that Brother Love can provide. My men are at the top of their games. Nick Busick is called the ‘Big Bully’. He will take on anyone and any time. My tag team if Tex Slaznager and Shanghai Pierce are a well-oiled machine and they will be at the top of tag team scene. Finally my boy Friday, Boy Tony, is a special member of my group.”

Boy Tony, “Not just Friday, but Saturday and some special Tuesday afternoons.”

Pedicino, “O.K. That’s a lot of information. Brother Love has put together a very formidable group. Let’s go back to Boni Blackstone who is with David Sammartino.”

Boni Blackstone is with David Sammartino.

Boni, “With me is David Sammartino. David you have one of the most famous names in the sport, but I know you have struck out on your own and made a name for yourself.”

Sammartino, “Yes I have Boni. My father was one of the finest wrestlers in the sport and he trained me well, but I am my own man. I’m not a rookie, I been around for a few years. This new organization is one that will give me a chance to show my abilities. I can’t wait to get started.”

Boni, “David Sammartino is ready to show the fans on ESPN 2 what he can do. Don’t miss him in action. Let’s go back to Joe Pedicino and his guests.”

Pedicino is with Billy Black and Bobby Duncum Jr.

Pedicino, “With me is the ‘Wild Bunch’ Billy Black and Bobby Duncum Jr., and believe me, they are well named.”

Black, “Shut up Pedicino, you fat hog! Bobby Duncum Jr. and myself are the ‘Wild Bunch’, and when ‘ACW’ gets going you will see why. We’ve wrestled all over the world and we beaten everyone we’ve faced. We don’t expect this to be any different. We get the chance to wrestle on national cable and those stinking fans are about to be very impressed.”

Duncum, “That’s right. I heard Sammmartino out here earlier. My dad, Bobby Duncum Sr., kicked his butt in Madison Square Garden. If that punk sticks his nose into my business, I’ll do it to him!”

Pedicino, “These two are very belligerent. That’s why they call them the ‘Wild Bunch’. Let’s go back to Craig Johnson and Harley Race.”

We go back to Johnson and Race.

Johnson, “You have now heard from some of the top stars of ‘ACW’. Those are not the only people you will see in the ring. Mr. Race. You have assembled quite a roster of talent.”

Race, “Yes we have. We searched the globe to find the best in wrestling talent and we will continue to do so.”

Johnson, “Remember Saturday night, May 14, 11:30 PM on the ‘Deuce’, ‘American Championship Wrestling’ will debut. As we leave you, take a look at the stars you will see.”

Johnson, “Welcome to ‘American Championship Wrestling’! Welcome fans on ESPN 2! A new era of professional wrestling is dawning. We are here at Battelle Hall in the lovely Ohio Center in Columbus, OH. You are about to see the most excising 90 minutes on television. You are going to see a fantastic main event on tonight’s program. David Sammartino, the second generation superstar, meets Killer Kyle. You’ll hear from Brother Love and see his men in action. You will see the ‘Redneck Rebel’ Doug Gilbert in action and you will see Wolf Hawkfield in the ring, Now Mr. Race a wrestling promotion needs Champions and we have none. Please tell us how we are going to rectify that.”

Race, “You’re right we need Champions and we don’t have any. In the coming weeks we will determine three championships, the American TV Title, the American Tag Team Titles and the American Heavyweight Title. Tournaments will begin and qualifying matches will get underway this week. I will have more information about these tournaments.”

Johnson, “Thank you Mr. Race. We have talked enough. Let’s get ‘American Championship Wrestling’ underway. Let’s go to the ring and see the ‘Redneck Rebel’ Doug Gilbert in action.”

“The Redneck Rebel” Doug Gilbert vs. Tony Stetson

Gilbert grabs the ring mike from Boni Blackstone.

Gilbert, “Look at all these, fat, hairy Northerners out there, and that’s just the women. The men look like a bunch of Yankee sissies. A hundred years ago we whipped you cowards in the ‘War Between the States’, now I’m fixing to do that to this bum.”

Boni, “With me is Wolf Hawkfield. Wolf you have arrived with a bang. People are talking about you.”

Hawkfield, “I am a humble man, but an intense man. I entered the world of professional wrestling as a challenge. When I hunted and trapped on Snow Mountain in Northern Canada I had to outwit and sometimes overpower my prey. It’s the same way in wrestling. I am here to take on the best and I’m here to beat the best. I ask no quarter and give none in return. Sign the contract to face me in the ring and you are in for the fight of your life!”

Boni, “I believe that. Let’s see Wolf Hawkfield in the ring.”

Pedicino, “Brother Love you have brought your entourage to ‘ACW’. I know how good your men are, I saw it first hand in another organization. They are good and you, and your boy-servant, are not above sticking your noses into a match.”

Love, “Brother Pedicino you seem angry. You seem to lack looooove in your life. Relax sit back and enjoy my men in action. You seem to resent my success, that’s understandable. I have chosen the right path in my life. I spread love and understanding and so do my men. You seem to reject that. Watch my men in action. Nick Busick is the toughest man in the sport and my tag team of Tex Slanzanger and Shanghai Pierce are at the top of their game. Our outlook on life makes us both great athletes and fine upstanding people.”

Pedicino, “Your men are fine wrestlers, but we all know how you go about winning matches. I don’t like it.”

Love, “Release that anger. Embrace the philosophy of love and understanding. Brother Pedicino remember that I looooove yooooou, no matter how dark your heart is.”

Pedicino, “O.K. Let’s see Slazanger and Pierce in the ring against a fine tag team, Dancing Wolf and the Navajo Warrior.”

Love, “When I was a kid I went to the movies to see the cowboys fight the Indians. The cowboys always won.”

Duncum, “That’s right missy, we do. Billy and are the two toughest men in the game. Billy is the high flyer and I’m the guy that gets it done on the ground. It doesn’t matter if it’s in a singles match, or a tag team match, the ‘Wild Bunch’ is here and everyone else is going to pay!”

Black, “You heard what Bobby said. Everyone talks about all the great wrestlers in ACW. They talk about Sammartino, Steamboat, the goof, Hawkfield, well here’ what I say about that, Bobby Duncum Jr. and I can beat them all, and in the next few weeks, we are going to prove it!”

Boni, “They sound very confident. Now let’s see Billy Black in action.”

Kirschner, “Thank you Joe. Rambo and I served our country bravely and we received top notch training that will serve us well in professional wrestling.”

Rambo, “Just what the Cpl said, we love America, we love the fans and we love wrestling. We have formed this tag team we have our eyes on those American Tag Team Titles!”

Pedicino, “You two would make fine Champions, but there are other top teams, like Slazanger and Pierce.”

Kirschner, “Two good wrestlers and you have to keep an eye on Brother Love. If we end up meeting them with the titles on the line it will be a war, but we’re ready for that.”

Pedicino, “Let’s see the ‘Green Berets’ in action.”

Sammartino, “I respect what my father did in the sport, but I wanted to make my own name. I have had some success, and I saw this new organization as a golden opportunity to move to the top of the sport.”

Boni, “There is a tournament coming up for the ACW Title. Many people see you as an early favorite.”

Sammartino, “I’d like to think I am. I know there will be many great wrestlers vying for the title, but I have placed my name in the hat, and I am confident.”

Johnson, “Mr. Race last week ACW took ESPN 2 and the world by storm. Our switchboard rang off the hook. People love the action we presented. We are a few blocks from the mighty Ohio River. We are at the beautiful Wheeling Civic Center in wild, wonderful West Virginia. Let’s go to Mr. Race.”

Race, “I am very honored to be the Commissioner of this organization and I see nothing but good things in our future.”

Johnson, “Last week we talked about the fact that ACW has no Champions. Mr. Race will address one of the titles, the American TV Title.”

Race,”The first title to be filled will be the American TV Title. This week qualifying matches will take place all over the country. When are with you next week we will have three of those spots filled. A fourth spot will be filled by a match on next week’s program. The four qualifiers will return the following week for a one night tournament to fill the vacant title.”

Johnson, “That is exciting news. We also have an exciting night of action this evening. Brother Love is back and his man, the ‘Big Bully’, Nick Busick will be in our main event. He will take on one of the most exciting rookies in professional wrestling, the Colorado Kid. When we return the ‘Wild Bunch’ will be in action.”

Hawkfield, “I have placed my name in the competition. I have said many times that I entered professional wrestling to test myself. I want to face the best in the ring. The American TV Title is a goal that I would like to achieve. There will be many worthy adversaries, but I will not step back, I will not surrender. I will fight with every ounce of courage in my being that is the way of my people. I am prepared.”

Boni, “I believe him. When we return Wolf Hawkfield will be in action.”

Gilbert, “So what you fat pig! I don’t care about you, all I care about is beating people up and making money!”

Pedicino, “Well Mr. Gilbert is very talented and very rude.”

Steamboat, “Thank you Boni. My brother, Rick, is one of the greatest wrestlers in the game. I’ve gone out on my own and I’m looking for success. It’s great to be here in ACW. It’s a young organization and one I think that is headed straight to the top of the wrestling world.”

Boni, “the fans have taken to you, especially the female ones.”

Steamboat, “I will always wrestle for the fans. I will follow the rules and be a wrestler that everyone can be proud of.”

Boni, “Let’s see Vic in the ring.”

Love, “Sister Boni I looooove yooooou! In an innocent and chaste way. All of my men have been very successful. That is because of the life we lead. We spread love and understanding and we have taken that philosophy into the ring with us. Brother Bully is a great wrestler and he is a favorite for the American Title, not just ‘a’ favorite, but ‘the’ favorite. He will take care of business in the tournament, but first he will put that youngster, Colorado Kid, in his place. Remember children should be seen and not heard.”

Boni, “O.K. Brother Love, but don’t underestimate the Kid.”

Love, “Sister Boni your lust for this Colorado Kid is showing. You are old enough to be his mother. I do not wish to listen to your lascivious thoughts, please keep them to yourself.”

Boni, “Brother Love I am a professional journalist. I am interested in the action in the ring, and that is all.”

Love, “Sister Boni I can help you replace those feelings of lust with feelings of love. Just ask for my help.”

Boni, “No thank you. When we return our main event will be in the ring.”

The young Colorado Kid gives Busick all he can handle. He gets several near falls, but the “Bully” takes over. He roughs up the Kid and wins with a heartpunch.

Johnson, “Welcome to ‘American Championship Wrestling’. We are at the Coliseum in Richfield, OH, just outside of Cleveland. Tonight is a big night in the early time of ACW. We will announce three of the semi-finalists for the TV Title tournament and the four spot will be filled by the winner of our main event. I will turn things over to Commissioner Race for more explanation.”

Race, ”Thank you Craig. This is an exciting time for us. We are very close to crowning our first Champions. As Craig said, we have three men in the semi-finals and we will introduce them as the night goes on. The fourth spot will be filled by the winner of tonight’s main event, Lou Perez vs. Wolf Hawkfield. Mr. Hawkfield has proven very popular with the fans, but Lou Perez is a stiff challenge. Whoever wins that match is certainly deserving of the TV Title.”

Johnson, “It is an exciting night. We also have a great tag team match The Green Berets take on Killer Kyle and Bull Pain. Now let’s get to our first semi-finalist. This man comes form the jungles of the South Pacific. Let’s go the ring and see the Tahitian Savage.”

Boni, “With me is the second man to qualify for the TV Title tournament Bobby Blaze. Bobby you are one of the young ‘high flyers’ in wrestling. You haven’t been wrestling very long, but you have impressed people very quickly.”

Blaze, “Thank you Miss Blackstone. Wrestling is a tough business, but I love it. When ACW was started I signed as soon as I could. I knew it was going to be a great organization. I got a chance to wrestle in the qualifying matches for the TV Title and I won them, so now I’m in the semi-finals. It won’t be easy, but I plan on winning the title.”

Boni, “Bobby Blaze has arrived in ACW and he looks ready for anything.”

Joe Pedicino is with “The Redneck Rebel” Doug Gilbert.

Pedicino, “Fans this is news that will not make you very happy. Doug Gilbert has qualified for the semi-finals of the TV Title tournament.”

Gilbert, “Pedicino I don’t care what you think and I sure don’t care what these stupid Northerners think. The ‘Redneck Rebel’ is in the semi-finals and that means everyone else is out of luck, because I’m winning that title.”

Pedicino, “Gilbert you have a big mouth, but you do back it up. There are a few great wrestlers left in the tournament. What about someone like Wolf Hawkfield?”

Gilbert, “That goofy redskin? You’ve got to be kidding. I’ll scalp him!”

Pedicino, “Let’s see Doug Gilbert in the ring.”

Boni Blackstone is with “Desperado” Joe Gomez.

Boni, “With me is Joe Gomez. Joe they call you the ‘Desperado’, why?”

Gomez, “Boni I’m like those cowboys in the old west. I give no quarter and ask for none. I’ll face anyone in the ring and I’ll give it my best. This is an exciting new wrestling promotion, and I want to be one the names people talk about. I’ve watched the first couple of shows and the talent here is fantastic. I’m ready for anything they throw at me.”

Boni, “Joe Gomez, the ‘Desperado’, is another top name in ACW. Let’s see him in the ring.”

“Desperado” Joe Gomez def. King Kahlua (7:32) w/powerslam

Joe Pedicino is with the Cpl Kirschner and Rambo, the Green Berets.

Pedicino, “Gentlemen you have arrived in ACW and quickly shown people that you are a force to be reckoned with in the tag team division.”

Rambo, “Cpl Kirschner and I are on a mission. We came here to be the best. The Army trained us for anything and we are taking that mentality in to the ring with us. We fear no men and we will stand up for the fans and all of America, the Green Berets are ready to serve!”

Kirschner, “Rambo is a brave man, that’s why I chose him as a partner. We came her to face the best, just like my partner said. We have an open contract and we will step into the ring against anyone.”

Pedicino, “There are many top tag teams in ACW. Brother Love’s team of Tex Slazanger and Shanghai Pierce have been very impressive.”

Rambo, “They are good and that little weasel Brother Love is sneaky, but Cpl Kirschner and I will not back down. If they want us, they know where to find us!

Kirschner, “Just like Rambo said, come on, we won’t back down!”

Pedicino, “When we return the Green Berets take on Killer Kyle and Bull Pain.”

The Green Berets def. Killer Kyle and Bull Pain (10:02) Kirschner w/cobra clutch vs. Pain
After the bell Tex Slaznager and Shanghai Pierce hit the ring and jump the Green Berets. Both teams brawl until wrestlers from the back break up things.

Boni Blackstone is with Wolf Hawkfield.



Boni, “With me is Wolf Hawkfield. In a few minutes you step into the ring to try to qualify for the semi-finals of the TV Title tournament. Lou Perez will be a stiff test.”

Hawkfield, “I take no one lightly. My life in the wild taught me that everyday is a challenge and I am ready. I want to win the TV Title and to do that, this is my first step.”

Boni, “You heard Doug Gilbert earlier. He had some very bad things to say about you.”

Hawkfield, “I pity a man like Gilbert. He needs to belittle others to make himself important. He is in the semi-finals, if I get there and I meet him, I will take care of him. I don’t talk a lot, I let my actions spek for me.”

Boni, “Strong words from Wolf Hawkfield. Our main event is next.”

Match #6
Qualifying Match for the American TV Title Semi-finals
Wolf Hawkfield def. Lou Perez (9:54) w/cyber spear
As Hawkfield is announced as the winner Doug Gilbert comes down the ramp. He is wearing an Indian headdress, carrying a brown bag, and making Indian war whoops. Gilbert grabs the mike.

Gilbert, “Listen to me you stupid redskin. I’ve watched you. You look ridiculous and you can’t wrestle. You may beat some bum like Perez, but when you get into the tournament you’ll have to face me. You can’t beat me, but I want to make sure you have enough courage to get in the ring. The only way you savages can get any courage is with firewater, here have some.”

Gilbert takes a bottle of whiskey from the bag and tosses it into the ring. Hawkfield takes off after Gilbert. Gilbert turns and runs up the ramp. The show ends with Gilbert running behind the curtain with Hawkfield in hot pursuit.
