We start out with an aerial shot of the National Mall in Washington, DC.
From there, the shot cuts to KEN RESNICK standing on the steps of the US Capitol Building.
RESNICK says that a brand new wrestling promotion has started up, and then introduces the man responsible, former international wrestling champion JOHNNY POWERS.
POWERS welcomes us to Universal Championship Wrestling! He says that this great city of Washington, DC has been without a wrestling promotion of it's own for many years, but that's about to change to change as Universal Championship Wrestling opens it's doors! UCW will be based right here in Washington, and he's happy to announce that he's reached a deal to air a weekly show, on Sunday afternoons, on the USA NETWORK!
POWERS then introduces the two men who will call the action every Sunday afternoon on Universal Championship Wrestling . . .
The Dean of wrestling commentators, Mr. Gordon Solie!
And his broadcast colleague, BOBBY "the Weas...er, the BRAIN" HEENAN!
HEENAN is not amused by Powers, and tells him that he's just like all these other humanoids, too stupid to appreciate his genuis!
POWERS just rolls his eyes, and says that he's brought the very best wrestlers to UCW, such as the former 7-time World's champion HARLEY RACE! Washington's very own "Soulman" ROCKY JOHNSON! WAHOO MCDANIEL! Mr. Wonderful PAUL ORNDORFF! RICK RUDE! BARRY WINDHAM! A man they call "Mr. Torture" MASA SAITO! THE MASKED SUPERSTAR! And many more!
POWERS says that Universal Championship Wrestling will debut next Sunday, May 12, on USA Network, and on that show, they'll have information about the Universal heavyweight title, the Universal tag team titles, as well as the International heavyweight and tag team titles, and the American heavyweight title!
POWERS hopes that we'll all join Universal Championship Wrestling as it kicks off on USA Network next Sunday afternoon!
