OPENING:
As the music plays, scenes from the 70's and early 80's in the wrestling promotions in St. Louis, Memphis, Indianapolis, Kansas City, & Detroit are shown.
MICHAEL ST. JOHN: (voice over) From the capital of the wrestling world, St. Louis, Missouri, it's MIDWEST CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING! For the next 60 minutes, you'll see the best action that pro wrestling has to offer! Now, down to ringside and your hosts, Michael St. John and wrestling great, Johnny Weaver!
We cut to Weaver and St. John at ringside.
ST. JOHN: We have another great hour of professional wrestling for you from the Chase Hotel in the wrestling capitol of the world, St. Louis, MO!
WEAVER: And Michael, we are just hours away from the tournament at the Kiel Arena for the Midwest Title!
ST. JOHN: One of the men who will participate in the tournament is the most poular wrestler in the Caribbean. If you got to Puerto Rico and ask a wrestling fan who their favorite wrestler is, they'll almost always name this man, Carlos Colon!
WEAVER: It was a huge signing when Dick The Bruiser contracted with Carlos Colon to wrestle in Midwest Championship Wrestling. I understand that we have a special musical look at Carlos Colon!
<video>
We see footage of Carlos Colon from Puerto Rico. There's scenes from several of Carlos' matches with top wrestlers like Abdullah the Butcher, Bruiser Brody, Harley Race, and Ric Flair.
After the video, we cut to the ring...
DINO BRAVO VS. ALI BEY:
Bravo continues his winning ways as he pins the Turk after an airplane spin. Weaver and St. John once again really put the French Canadian grappler over. They mention that he will be in the tournament tomorrow night and will take on his countryman Iron Mike Sharpe! Weaver says they might settle once and for all who Canada's Greatest Athlete truly is!
<Commercial>
One of the commercials is a promo for tomorrow's card at the Kiel with Randy Hales:
Here are the first round matches:
BLACK BART VS. KENDALL WINDHAM
MARK YOUNGBLOOD VS. THE MISSING LINK
THE GREAT KABUKI VS. IVAN PUTSKI
BULLDOG BOB BROWN VS. MASTER G
IRON MIKE SHARPE VS. DINO BRAVO
"DR. D" DAVID SHULTS VS. BRAD RHEINGANS
BORIS ZHUKOV VS. "AVALANCHE" BUZZ TYLER
CARLOS COLON VS. THE SHEIK
As you can see, we've brought in wrestlers from all over the world for this tournament! Right now, I'm joined by Iron Mike Sharpe. You are known as "Canada's Greatest Athlete, but your opponent is Dino Bravo, a great Canadian athlete in his own right!
SHARPE: Bravo pales in comparison to me! He's not in my league and I'm gonna beat him and take that beautiful championship belt you just held up! You people will have a champion you can respect and be proud of!
HALES: Good luck to you, Iron Mike Sharpe! Right now, here are prerecorded comments from "Dr. D" David Shults!
<video>
Dr. D is standing in a locker room, microphone in hand.
DR. D: I'm in this business for three reasons: to make money, win titles, and bust heads! On March 17th , in St. Louis, I git the chance to do all three of them things! Right off the bat, they put me with a man who was on our Olympic team five years ago! I know what they are thinkin'. They don't want a man like me as their champion! They'll put me in with a man who is an Olympic athlete and I won't stand a chance! This ain't amatuer rasslin', boys! I ain't gonna shake his hand and slap him on the butt when he does a fireman's carry! Brad Rheingans, I might not be a fancy Olympic team wrestler, but I'm as mean and tough as they come! I've seen more men carried out on a stretcher than you've had matches, boy, and you're standin' in my way! You're liable to take a stretcher ride yourself!
After a few more commercials, we return to ringside!
OLE & LARS ANDERSON VS. DAVID OSWALD & DON BASS: Weaver says the Andersons are the toughest men he has ever been in the ring with! Ole & Lars take their opponents apart this week. After Ole hits a shoulderbreaker on Oswald, he tags in Lars. Lars applies a stepover armbar and gets the submissio for his team.
After the match is over, Johnny Weaver joins Ole & Lars in the ring...
WEAVER: When you say "tag team wrestling", the name Minnesota Wrecking Crew is the first thing that comes to mind! Ole and Lars, welcome to Midwest Championship Wrestling! Great to have you!
LARS: John, it's great to see you again. Been a long time. I'm really excited to be in on the ground floor of a new promotion and to be back together with my brother Ole! There's a tag team title tournament in Kansas City on the 24th and we've already put our names in for that!
Hold on! Oliver Humperdink waddles down and enters the ring!
HUMPERDINK: I am here to offer you gentlemen the opportunity of a lifetime! Ole, you and I are no strangers. We've had dealings in the past. I have built the House of Humperdink into and awesome force! Names like Black Bart, Kabuki, Missing Link, the Zambuie Express, the Russians, and the Moondogs! Let me add the Minnesota Wrecking Crew to the list and I will be the most powerful man in wrestling! The sky will be the limit!
OLE: You said one thing right, Humperdink: I have had dealings with you before and it was, without a doubt, THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! The Andersons have never needed a bloodsucking leech taking a percentage of our money and we're not starting now! The best thing you can do is get out of this ring right now!
The Andersons have turned Oliver Humperdink down flat! Humperdink leaves in a huff!
<commercial break>
ZAMBUIE EXPRESS VS. MASTER G & BRICKHOUSE BROWN:
Kareem Muhammad & Elijah Akeem are accompanied by Humperdink. It looks like it will be a bad day all around for the House of Humperdink as Brown & G take it to the Express in the early going. In spite of Brickhouse and Master G's fantastic effort, the Zambuies prevail in the end after Akeem nails a corner splash on Brickhouse and gets the pin! After the fall, Humperdink orders his men to do some damage to Master G and they start double teaming him! Look out! Ole & Lars Anderson hit the ring! The Minnesota Wrecking Crfew cleans house and are left standing tall with Master G!

Randy Hales is standing by with a special guest...
HALES: I'm here with the President of Midwest Championship Wrestling, Dick The Bruiser! Bruiser is holding in his hand the Midwest Heavyweight Title belt. This belt is valued at over $20,000.00 and you will personally present it to the winner of the tournament at the Kiel tomorrow night!
BRUISER: I'm really excited about this! I want to introduce a young man who I'm very proud to have in Midwest Championship Wrestling. I've been friends with his family for many years and he's following in the footsteps of his dad and older brother! Kendall Windham, I wanna wish you good luck in the tournament, young man!
Windham walks in and shakes hands with Bruiser and Hales.
WINDHAM: Thanks for the kind words, Dick! This is going to be a huge night! There's a lot of tough guys in this tournament. I've got Black Bart right off the bat! There are guys like the Sheik, Kabuki, Dino Bravo, Carlos Colon, and a bunch more! I'm gonna do my best to win that beautiful belt that Dick is holding for all of you fans! I've not been a professional all that long and to win a major title in the early stages of my career would be a really big deal! I'm really looking forward to tomorrow night at the Kiel!
HALES: Good luck, Kendall! He mentioned a man who I think is a heavy favorite to win the belt. A man who is our next guest...Dino Bravo!
BRUISER: Dino, this is a great opportunity! Good luck, young man!
BRAVO: I am looking forward to this tournament! There are no easy opponents in this tournament! I promise all of the fans that if I am lucky enough to win that I'll be a fighting champion and make you proud.
HALES: You have to admit that it will be a tough road with the competition signed...
BRAVO: My first opponent is Iron Mike Sharpe. Sharpe has a big mouth, but he's one of the best to ever come out of my country. There's the Sheik, maybe the deadliest wrestler ever. There are wildmen like Kabuki and Missing Link. There are great scientific wrestlers like Brad Rheingans. There are guys with great power like Buzz Tyler and Master G. There are fast guys like Kendall Windham and Mark Youngblood. You are right, it will be a tough night! But I am in the best shape of my career and I'm ready for anything!
BRUISER: It's gonna be a great night in St. Louis! Get your tickets now!
MARK YOUNGBLOOD VS. BLACK BART:
Bart and Youngblood had an altercation on last week's program and this match springs from that. Oliver Humperdink is in Bart's corner. These guys seem to really hate each other and it doesn't take long for their brawl to spill to ringside. Humperdink tries to hand the branding iron to Bart, but Youngblood intercepts it! Mark starts swinging away with the weapon! Bart and Humperdink retreat! Referee Rick Hazzard calls it a no contest! As we go to break, Mark Youngblood is glaring at the camera, branding iron in hand!
<commercial break>
“AVALANCHE” BUZZ TYLER VS. BORIS ZHUKOV:
Zhukov and Alexis Smirnoff enter the ring, accompanied by Sir Oliver Humperdink. The Russians are waving Soviet flags, generating heat with the patriotic audience. Then, we hear...
Buzz Tyler boogies to the ring! The fans pop big(admittedly, it's hard to say if that's for Tyler or the music) as Buzz hits the ring! Tyler is looking for revenge for last week's altercation with the Russians. Referee Nick Patrick catches Smirnoff attempting to interfere from ringside early on ad sends him to the back! When it looks like Tyler is on the verge of victory, Humperdink waves somebody down to the ring! It's Black Bart! Bart interferes on Zhukov's behalf and Patrick calls for the DQ! Here comes Smirnoff and it's a three on one situation! Here comes Mark Youngblood with the branding iron! Ole & Lars Anderson hit the ring, too! The House Of Humperdink bails out! Buzz Tyler, Mark Youngblood, & The Minnesota Wrecking Crew are standing tall!
<commercial break>
IVAN PUTSKI VS. GARY ROYAL:
“Gorgeous” Gary is no match for the power of Putski! In spite of Royal's best efforts, Putski nails him with a “Polish Hammer” and scores the pinfall! After the match, Putski joins Johnny Weaver at ringside.
WEAVER: Big win for the Polish Power! Ivan, we're being joined by an old friend of ours!
PUTSKI: Welcome my pal, the one and only Bugsy McGraw, to Midwest Championship Wrestling!
BUGSY: The Polish Power and I have made a discovery, Johnny Weaver, and we want to share it with the world! A few months back, I was driving through the mountains of Kentucky. I had car trouble and a country boy who was squirrel hunting nearby came by and towed my car into the nearest town. That's normally no big deal, but he didn't use a truck! When I saw his amazing power, I asked if he would consider using it for a career in professional wrestling! He said, “Shore thang, I always liked a good scuffle!” So, I brought him to the gym where I train which happens to be the same place that Ivan trains! This big ol' boy likes to be called Hillbilly Jim and he's gonna be ready for his pro debut really soon! Roll that footage, Mr. DeMille!
<video>
This is a music video. It starts showing Hillbilly Jim chopping wood outside of a log cabin. Then, Bugsy McGraw pulls up in a Cadillac. Bugsy and Jim shake hands. Jim gets in the car and they drive off. Next we see Jim and Bugsy working out in the ring. Bugsy teaches Jim to fall and run the ropes. Then, we see Jim and Putski lifting weights together. There is also a scene of Putski, McGraw, & Jim riding in the back of a pickup. As they ride, Jim strums a guitar, Ivan sings, and Bugsy plays tamborine. The last scene we see is Jim flexing his muscles and then pointing at the camera with a big old grin on his face!

DINO BRAVO VS. THE GREAT KABUKI(W/SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK):
Kabuki's martial arts and rulebreaking tactics gave him the edge for most of the bout. Bravo made a remarkable comeback and it looked like he was going to win as he got Kabuki up in the airplane spin! In the midst of the spin, Kabuki's legs hit referee Roughhouse Fargo in the face and knocked him to the mat! Bravo slammed Kabuki to the canvas and covered him! There was no referee to count! Humperdink jumped into the ring with a chair! Bravo saw Humperdink coming! Bravo got up, ripped the chair out of the manager's hands and nailed Sir Oliver!
