Gene Okerlund: Welcome to another edition of Superstars of the Ring. We have a great show this evening as you will see Ronnie Garvin and the Bulldogs in action, Gary Hart’s monsters One Man Gang and Nord the Barbarian will face the Killer Bees, and our in our huge main event, UWE Heavyweight Champion Roddy Piper and Magnum TA will take on the dangerous duo of Colonel Debeers and Doug Sommers.
We are one week away from a historic night of wrestling, as next Friday, ESPN will broadcast Prime Time Classic, a two-hour live wrestling card beginning at 9:00 PM EST. Brought right to your living room will be matches such as Roddy Piper and Magnum TA taking on Big John Studd and Jake Roberts, a four tag-team elimination tournament featuring the Bulldogs, Tommy Rich and Tracy Smothers, the Wild Samoans and the Sheepherders. The winner of that match gets an immediate title shot against the Rock and Roll Express the next week. Also on the card you will Jimmy Snuka take on Ron Bass, and UWE Television Champion Tito Santana will defend his belt against the man taking the UWE by storm, Big Van Vadar. It promises to be an amazing night of wrestling!
Our first guest will have his hands full at Prime Time Classic, as he defends his television title against the man who has been running roughshod all over the promotion, the one they call Big Van Vader. Please welcome Television Champion Tito Santana.
Tito Santana: Arriba Gene! Looks like I have one heck of a fight coming my way at Prime Time Classic. Although he may be new to this promotion, Big Van Vader has shown he’s a monster to be reckoned with. And even worse, he has Gary Hart in his corner. That’s a tough combination for anyone. But I fought too long and too hard to get this title belt. I don’t plan on giving it up anytime soon. Vader, Hart, you better be ready. I don’t care how big you are, how strong you are, it won’t be enough when you try and take this from me. Arriba!
Gene Okerlund: Tito Santana knows he has his hands full at Prime Time Classic when he takes on Big Van Vader and his manager, Gary Hart. Let’s go the ring for our first match of the evening as hands of stone Ronnie Garvin is in action. Garvin has the tough matchup next Friday against the Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff. Rod Trongard and Dutch Savage are on the call.
Match #1
Ronnie Garvin defeats Art Crews via pinfall.

Gene Okerlund: We just saw an impressive win by hands of stone Ronnie Garvin. He’ll be facing our next guest at Prime Time Classic. Please welcome the Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff.
Nikita Koloff: Impressive win. Nyet. There is nothing impressive about Garvin or anyone in this country. You are weak, you are pathetic, and you will be destroyed. Garvin will suffer the same fate as anyone who dares challenge the superiority of the USSR. The fate of destruction. I was sent here by KGB with one goal, destroy your pathetic way of life. Garvin is first step, all the rest of the cowards in his promotion, you’re next. The Russian Nightmare is not just in your dreams, it’s here, and I will not stop till you weak Americans are destroyed.
Gene Okerlund: The big Russian is sending out a warning to all those in the UWE, especially his opponent next week, Ronnie Garvin. Let’s head to the ring as the Bulldogs are in action.
Match #2
Bulldogs defeated Buddy Lane and Enrique Vera via pinfall.
---Commercial Break---
Gene Okerlund: Our next guest, known for his managerial brilliance, has assembled a team of three of the most dangerous wrestlers in the world. Joining us now is Gary Hart, flanked by his stable of One Man Gang, Nord the Barbarian and Big Van Vader.
Gary Hart: The masses are not ready for the path of destruction my men will leave in their wake. I searched high and low, in America, in Japan, all over the world, to find the three most vicious souls out there. I found them. These men have one mission, one goal, to take over the Universal Wrestling Enterprise through any means necessary. At Prime Time Classic, the monster Vader will have a chance to take down that chump Tito Santana. Big Van Vader may be young, he may be inexperienced, but there are some things you can’t teach. There are some things you are born with. The killer instinct, the inability to show mercy. Under my tutelage, this man will walk out next Friday night not just holding the Television Title, but having destroyed Tito Santana.
Gene Okerlund: Gary Hart administers a warning: you better not overlook his men or there will be a price to pay! Two of his charges are in action in our next contest.
Match #3
One Man Gang and Nord the Barbarian defeat the Killer Bees via pinfall with assistance from Hart’s interference.
---Commercial Break---
Gene Okerlund: In our main event next week, our next guests have the unenviable task of taking on two of the most popular wrestlers in the sport. Please welcome Big John Studd and Jake Roberts who will meet Roddy Piper and Magnum TA at Prime Time Classic.
Jake Roberts: A snake may attack its victim immediately, or it may lie in wait, watching, searching, for that moment of weakness. Piper and Magnum may think they’re on top of the world, but it’s an illusion. For I see the reality, I see the dissension, the conflict. I have lied in wait as the prey loses its focus. Piper and TA, you better put all this behind, all the stuff you are going through, because this snake is ready to attack next Friday night.
Big John Studd: The whole world is going to see who the toughest men in the UWE are next Friday night. There will be no running, no hiding, no ducking our challenge. We are ready to destroy you. I don’t care who’s first, who’s second, all I know is that both of you are doing down, and there is nothing these ugly, pathetic fans can do about it.
Gene Okerlund: Jake Roberts and Big John Studd are ready for their big main event match next week and remind Piper and Magnum that they better be on the top of their games. The two are in action now in our main event as they take on Doug Sommers and the dangerous Colonel Debeers.
Match #4
Magnum TA and Roddy Piper defeats Doug Sommers and Colonel Debeers via pinfall. Despite their victory, there was an incident during the match. As both men were in the ring, Magnum was fighting off Colonel Debeers when he reached around and accidentally struck Piper. The two exchanged words in the ring and Piper quickly left after the match, refusing to celebrate with TA.
Gene Okerlund: This match was suppose to show that Piper and Magnum are on the same page heading into Prime Time Classic. I’m not sure we saw that. Next week will be very interesting to see how this plays out. That’s all for tonight wrestling fans, we’ll see you next week for the two-hour live wrestling extravagance from Portland, Oregon.
