Montez welcomes us to another episode of “OUTLAW CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING”!
This week, we have a huge main event, as four teams square off in a tag team elimination match, with the winners being crowned the first NAWF Southwest tag team champions! The four teams involved in that match will be the Guerreros, Jim Neidhart and Steve Williams, the Masked Superstar and a newcomer to the NAWF Mr. Saito, and Iceman King Parsons and Koko Ware!
Montez talks about the match, saying this is the first time we’ll see anything like this. All four teams will be in the match at the same time. It will work like a regular tag team match, two wrestlers will be in the ring, but they can tag anyone on the outside, it doesn’t have to be their own partner. When a wrestler is pinned, made to submit, disqualified or counted out, that team is eliminated from the match! The last team remaining will be crowned the Southwest tag champions!
Montez then says that on Monday, April 1, they’ll be back at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix, and on that night, an 8-man tournament will take place to crown the NAWF Western States champion. So far, we know that Mil Mascaras and Abdullah the Butcher will be a part of that tournament. The rest of the field will be announced on next week’s show.
JAY YOUNGBLOOD defeats “DIRTY” DUTCH MANTELL. Youngblood makes his return after a month on the shelf thanks to the Dynamite Kid. Dutch tries everything he can to make sure it’s not a successful return. The Dutchman attacks Youngblood from behind before the bell, and puts the boots to him. Mantell stays on Youngblood early on, not giving him a chance to recover. Things look bleak for Youngblood, but when Dutch attempts a Piledriver, Youngblood backdrops Mantell instead, then connects with a dropkick as Dutch gets back to his feet. Youngblood stuns Dutch with several big chops, then bounces off the ropes, jumps into the air, and connects with a big overhead chop that puts Dutch on the mat. Three seconds later, Jay Youngblood is victorious!
We hear pre-recorded comments from Hector & Chavo Guerrero. They talk about the four team elimination match later today. Chavo says that with the support of these great fans, they can’t lose! Hector says that they’re up against some stiff competition, but both he and Chavo have spent their careers wrestling bigger opponents, so today will be nothing new for them.
ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER (w/ Bobby Heenan) defeats FRANKIE WILLIAMS. Poor Frankie Williams falls victim to a vicious beating at the hands of the madman from the Sudan! Abby pummels Williams with punches, chops and kicks before pulling out his trusty fork and carving Williams’ forehead up! Soon after, Abby drops the Butcher’s Axe elbowdrop on his battered and bloodied opponent for the 1, 2, 3.
Abby isn’t finished, though, after the bell, he continues to stomp Williams, then chokes him, before hitting another elbowdrop! As Heenan leads Abdullah from the ring, Frankie Williams is taken from the ring on a stretcher.
We hear pre-recorded comments from the Masked Superstar & Mr. Saito. Superstar says that he and Bobby Heenan have gone out and found the perfect tag team partner for him, a man that they call “Mr. Torture”! He says that, like him, Saito enjoys nothing more than hurting his opponents! To men like him and Saito, there’s no other sound quite like the snapping of bones, the tearing of tendons, and the screams of agony from their opponents!
Superstar says that today, when these three other teams step into the ring with him and Saiot, they are going to experience pain the likes of which they never thought possible!
We then go to pre-recorded comments from Jim Neidhart & Steve Williams. Neidhart says that none of these other teams are as tough as him and Williams, and they’re going to go through them like a hot knife through butter on their way to becoming Southwest tag team champions!
Doc says he and Neidhart are going to tear through the other three teams, just like they did to opponents on the football field, and when it’s all said and done, these other teams are all going to find themselves flat on their backs, looking up at the lights!
MIL MASCARAS defeats JOEL DEATON. Deaton gives the masked man a tough match early on, but Mil eventually gains the upper hand, and connects with a flying crossbody off the top rope for the pinfall victory.
We go to pre-recorded comments from Koko Ware & Iceman King Parsons. Koko says today is the day that he becomes a champion in the NAWF, when he and the Iceman go through three other teams and become Southwest tag team champions!
Parsons refers to the team as the Soul Patrol, and says the fans are looking at the first Southwest tag team champions!
FOUR TEAM ELIMINATION MATCH FOR THE SOUTHWEST TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
“DR. DEATH” STEVE WILLIAMS & JIM “ANVIL” NEIDHART defeat HECTOR & CHAVO GUERRERO and MASKED SUPERSTAR & MR. SAITO (w/ Bobby Heenan) and THE SOUL PATROL: KOKO WARE & ICEMAN KING PARSONS. Things start out wild and woolly in this one, and at one point early on, we have all eight men in the ring at the same time, and it seems more like a battle royal than a tag team match! After a few minutes, the referee is able to get order restored somewhat, and we start out with Steve Williams and Iceman Parsons in the ring. Williams overpowers Parsons, but the Iceman won’t stay down, every time Doc goes for the cover, Parsons is able to kick out. Frustrated, Doc charges at Parsons, who sidesteps him, then tags in Mr. Saito!
Doc and Saito tear into each other, and Williams finds he can’t overpower “Mr. Torture” like he did Parsons. Saito slows things down, taking Williams to the mat and working on his arm and shoulder. Saito twists and bends Doc’s arm in a bunch of unnatural ways, until Neidhart comes in and slugs Saito! Williams shakes out his arm while Neidhart and Saito trade punches in the middle of the ring! All hell breaks loose as the rest of the participants all jump into the ring as well! After a few minutes of that, things settle down again, and Koko Ware enters into the match, facing off with Saito.
Saito methodically wears Koko down, and eventually drops him with the Saito Suplex for the pinfall. Koko and Iceman are eliminated from the match!
This leaves the Guerreros at the mercy of the two heel teams, and Doc and Neidhart decide to join forces with Superstar and Saito to try and eliminate the Guerreros. It works for a little while, as the two heel teams take turns pummeling the Guerreros, but the tables turn when the fight moves to the outside. Saito and Chavo, the legal men, brawl on the floor, Saito has the upper hand, and whips Chavo into the ringpost. Saito then charges at him, but Chavo falls out of the way, and Saito collides with the steel ringpost, knocking himself senseless!
Chavo rolls back inside the ring, but Saito is down and he’s counted out! Mr. Saito and the Masked Superstar have been eliminated from the match!
We’re down to just the Guerreros and Doc and Neidhart! Hector and Chavo give a valiant effort, but unfortunately for them, they’ve suffered too much punishment, and eventually Neidhart and Williams take control of the match. Doc pummels Hector, then plants him with the Oklahoma Stampede for the 1, 2, 3!
Jim Neidhart and Steve Williams are the NAWF Southwest tag team champions!!!
Montez wraps things up as Doc and the Anvil celebrate in the ring. He reminds the fans that next week, they’ll have more information about the big 8-man tournament coming up on April 1 in Phoenix to crown the inaugural Western States champion!
