ST.VALENTINE’S DAY SHOWDOWN
Houston County County Farm Center Dothan, Alabama February 10, 1985
LIVE ON CMT @ 7 PM with Charlie Platt and Rick Stuart
Referees: Pee Wee Anderson, Tommy Weathers, Mac McMurray
SIX-MAN MATCH
Chris Colt/Rip Rogers/Roy Lee Welch vs. Checkmate/Davey Rich/Scott Armstrong
Checkmate suplexes Colt back into the ring from the apron late and tags in Rich. Davey lets loose with a flying body press on Colt to win this action packed opener. (A)
GOOD BOOK ON A POLE MATCH
Tommy Lane/Mike Davis vs. Doug Vines/Jeff Sword w/Izzy Slapowitz
During the match, Vines tries to scale the pole where the good book is left hanging. The pole bends allowing Davis to grab the advantage with a Samoan Drop. He and Lane double team Vines while Izzy and Sword try to bend the pole even more. Eventually they get the pole low enough to formulate a plan. Slapowitz gets the attention of referee Tommy Weathers. Sword comes into the ring and knees Lane in the back. Jeff runs Lane into the pole, clotheslining him. The book falls to the mat. In the resulting melee, Davis clocks Sword with it and pins him. (W)
FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE
Tony Atlas vs. Ron Fuller
Atlas gains a bit of revenge, trapping Fuller in a sleeper and putting him out in the stands for a win. However, it does come at a price. Fuller has injured the right leg of the strongman enough to give him a noticeable limp, as he goes to the back. (M)
COWARD WAVES THE FLAG MATCH
Yuri Gordienko/Alexis Smirnoff w/Tojo Yamamoto vs. Bobby Jaggers/Steve Doll
Sunshine comes out and holds the flag for Jaggers and Doll. Smirnoff throws a heart punch on Doll several minutes in the match. Instead of pinning the youngster, The Russians beat him down. Sunshine tries to rally here troops and it works enough to get Jaggers to tag in. Doll, exhausted, falls through the ropes to the floor. Eventually, Jaggers is worn down, too. Doll makes it up to the corner and makes a blind tag. He runs right into a double clothesline. Yamamoto takes the Russian flag off of the pole. He does get it off but waves it to get the attention of Gordienko. He wants to choke out Doll. Pee Wee Anderson sees the wave and calls for the bell.
YAMAMOTO HAS SURRENDERED FOR HIS TEAM. (A)
The fans go nuts. Jaggers, Doll, and Sunshine leave, pointing to “the losers” all the way to the locker room.
HAIR vs.MASK
Porkchop Cash vs. Dream Machine w/Izzy Slapowitz
Cash is blindsided by Dream on his way to the ring. The masked man uses the golden scissors to bust open Cash. Referee Mac McMurray threatens to DQ The Machine, which would cause him to lose his mask. The heels head to the ring very confident they will win. Slowly but surely, so does Cash.
Cash is on the defensive until Dream Machine tries for a diving head butt. Cash rolls out of the way. Dream is literally on Dream Street. Cash lifts him up into a body slam position and drops him throat first over the top rope. Cash drives several knees into the throat and Izzy is beside himself. He jumps on the apron and Csah forearms him off. Dream gets in from behind and tries for a German bridge suplex. He doesn’t have enough energy to get Cash up very high but it does put the shoulders down. Unfortunately, so are The Dream Machine’s. 1 2 shoulder up 3. (W)
WHO WAS PINNED???
The referee ruled that Porkchop got his shoulder up. Dream Machine has to remove the mask. He does…
BUT THERE IS ANOTHER MASK UNDERNEATH.
Cash is exhausted but he doesn’t like this one bit. Slapowitz is laughing and Cash grabs him. PILEDRIVER by Dream. The heels leave while medical personnel check on Cash.
INTERMISSION
Kevin Kelly/Nick Kiniski w/Sunshine vs. Virgil-San/Banzai w/Tojo Yamamoto
IF TOJO’S TEAM WINS, SUNSHINE LEAVES CWS
IF SUNSHINE’S TEAM WINS, SUNSHINE GETS 5 MINUTES WITH TOJO WITH BOTH HANDS BEHIND HIS BACK
This one is crazy from the start. Both Kevin Kelly and Phil Hickerson strain their backs and are hurt by Boston Crabs by Nick Kiniski and Virgil-San. In the end, Kiniski and Virgil-San are fighting on one side of the ring. Kelly and Hickerson, the legal men, are fighting on the other. Kelly looks to be pulling himself in to beat the count. But, in reaching, his back cramps up. He falls back down. McMurray reaches a 10 count. The match is a DOUBLE COUNTOUT. (M)
Sunshine stays and Tojo doesn’t have his hands tied to face a woman. Stalemate. The person who is hot, though, is Sunshine. She blames Kelly for the loss. On the house mike, Sunshine says she wanted to put that “sawed off runt in his place and this musclehead cost me that chance”. Sunshine walks to the back on her own.
SHOWCASE JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE
Ron Starr © vs. Les Thornton (A)
Thornton wins the title clean with a backslide at the 18 minute mark. What happened afterwards will be one of the talks of the parking lot. Starr attacked Thornton, as he was receiving the belt from Pee Wee Anderson. Starr throws the new champ to the floor. Taking a chair from ringslide and sliding it back in, Starr rolls Thornton under the rope. Tying the new champ up, Starr wails away with the chair. Special deputies break things up.
CONTINENTAL HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

Casey misses a top rope elbow into this too close to call bout. The Flame, eventually, is able to execute a shoulder breaker and lift the cowboy into his flying hammerlock. Casey passes out, giving the champ the successful title defense.
SHOWCASE TV TITLE
Eddie Gilbert © vs. Scott McGhee (M)
As the 15-minute arena time limit winds down, McGhee catches Gilbert is with own hold, dropping Eddie with a hot shot over the top rope. McGhee clamps on a Texas Cloverleaf. The crowd rises and starts a roar. Sunshine comes down the ramp. She looks to be cheering McGhee on when…
SHE SPRAYS SOMETHING INTO McGHEE”S FACE.
Whatever was contained in the hairspray made McGhee let go. Mac Murray calls for the bell. Gilbert crawls out and hugs the woman who helped him keep his belt on a DQ. SUNSHINE IS EDDIE GILBERT’S ADDITION. The fans hear the warning about throwing trash at the wrestlers, as the two evildoers leave.
