Match #2
The Masked Marvel vs. Armand Rougeau
The masked man from France enters the ring in a very arrogant fashion. The youngest Rougeau brother has the fans behind him. The Marvel is very powerful, and uses his strength to control the early action. The masked man hammers away, and Rougeau is in trouble. Armand fights back, and now the Marvel is in trouble. Rougeau seems to run out of steam, and the Marvel clamps on the full Nelson, rougeau fights, but he has to submit.
Winner-The Masked Marvel
Match #3
Randy Scott and John Bonello vs. The Kelly Twins
This should be a good tag team encounter. Pat starts for the Kellys, Scott for his side. Bonello and Scott are the fan favorites, and they have the crowd on their feet. They tag in and out, and dish out punishment. Pat is in trouble, and he tags in Mike. The big lumberjack throws big rights, and lefts. We have a pier six brawl on our hands. Scott gets a two count on Mike, but he kicks out. All four men end up on the ring. Referee Andre Roy escorts Bonello out of the ring. This allows the Kellys to double bodyslam Scott. Pat makes the cover and Roy counts the fall.
Winners-The Kelly Twins
Match #4
Gino Brito vs. Richard Charland
Two Quebec veterans meet in this one. Brito is the fan favorite. He uses his experience to control the action. Brito slaps on the sleeper, but Charland gets to the ropes. Referee Omer Marchessault calls for the break. Brito is confident, but Charland lands a boot that is low. Now he has control. Charland traps Brito in the corner, and puts the boots to the poplar star. The Verdun crowd crowd gets behind Gino. He fires out of the corner. He throws rights, and lefts, now a Charland is in trouble. Now Charland fires back. In the confusion, Gino rolls up Charland. Marchessault counts the fall. Charland argues, but the crowd cheers Brito.
Winner-Gino Brito
Intermission
The Rougeaus, The Britos, and Vachon come out and sell autographed photos.
Match #5
Mad Dog Vachon vs. Jerry Valiant
The mad man from Algeria meets the former WWF Tag Team Champion. This is a brawl. Vachon is one of the foremost brawlers in the sport, and Valiant can hold his own. The early moments belong to Valiant. He chokes Vachon, and expertly hides it from referee Omer Marchessault. Vachon seems to be trouble. The crowd tries to alert the referee about Valiant underhanded tactics, but he stops when Marchessault checks. Vachon has had enough. If Valiant wants to break rules, Vachon can match him move for move. The momentum swings to Vachon. He gets Jerry up, and hits the piledriver for the win.
Winner-Mad Dog Vachon
Match #6
The Rougeau Brothers vs. Sailor White and Pierre Lefebvre w/Tarzan Tyler
One team is loved in Quebec, the other hated. Tyler puts the bad mouth on both Rougeaus. The manager could be the difference tonight. Referee Andre Roy has a tough task ahead of him. Raymond starts with Lefebvre. “Mad Dog” Lefebvre is one of the wildest wrestlers in Canada, and he wrestles like it. He punches, kicks, chokes, and bites, and Rougeau is in trouble. The big sailor tags in. He may be more vicious than Lefebvre. Raymond is in trouble. Every time Jacques tries to help, Roy stoops, him, and the villains double team. Tyler is very confident at ringside. Finally, Raymond escapes, he tags in Jacques. The younger Rougeau is a house afire. He clears the ring. White, and Lefebvre take to the floor and confer with Tyler. They return, and the action continues. Raymond catches Lefebvre in the abdominal stretch. Tyler tosses his cane to White. Sailor attacks Raymond. Roy calls for the bell, and disqualifies Tyler’s team. It takes wrestlers from the back to tear the four men apart.
Winners-The Rougeau Brothers (Disqualification)
*While preparing a TV taping for Montreal, I noticed a lot of Montreal, and other Canadian, wrestlers on the free agent list. This show was promoted by Gino Brito.
