Taped: January 9, 1985 @ Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama @ 6 PM
Broadcast: January 13, 1985 @ 8 PM on COUNTRY MUSIC TELEVISION
Announcers: Charlie Platt, Rick Stuart

John Schneider tells all the fans to stay tuned for “Continental Wrestling Showcase on CMT”.
Highlights from the January 12 episode of “Continental Wrestling Wildfire”:
*Dream Machine cuts the hair of Porkchop Cash after getting pinned by Cash in a 6-Man match.
*A masked man defeats Scott McGhee for the Showcase TV Title. He turns out to be Eddie Gilbert.
*Scott Casey takes offense to The Flame mocking the cowboy hat Casey was given by Gene Autry.
*Due to a pre match attack by The Roses, Steve Armstrong almost submits to a Randy Rose Boston crab. The bell rings, saving the tag titles for The Armstrongs.
Match One:
Rip Rogers b. Tony Russo
Rogers tells Stuart, at ringside, that nobody needs to forget The Hustler is still around. Just because the tournaments are over doesn’t mean he is going to dry up and blow away. He says that he hears that Eddie Gilbert may be looking for “associates”.
Match Two:
Ron Starr b. Steven Regal
After the match, Starr brags to Platt about outsmarting Scott Armstrong to win the Showcase Junior Heavyweight Title. After turning around, Starr is hit by a nasty European bolo punch from Les Thornton. Starr stumbles out of the camera shot, calling Thornton, a “British pacifist coward”.
Match Three:
Steve Doll b. Yuri Gordienko
Bobby Jaggers and Alexis smirnoff end up being in the respective corners of the opponents. Doll executes a top turnbuckle sunset flip for the win. Smirnoff slams both men with a Russian flag and lays Jaggers underneath it.
Match Four:
Nick Kiniski w/Sunshine b. Ben Alexander
After the win, Tojo Yamamoto comes out and berates Sunshine again, calling her to “ go shopping or something a woman has the ability to do”. Sunshine looks ready to slap Tojo. Yamamoto stops the move, saying the “bimbo needs to be careful because he could beat her with both hands tied behind his back”. Sunshine and Kiniski leave, saying that is just what they wanted to hear.
Match Five:
Scott Armstrong b. Roy Lee Welch
Armstrong wins after ducking a shot from Welch’s crown. The crown bounces off a turnbuckle and hits its owner. One superkick later and it is all over. Welch is livid, as the ringsiders get in some intense laughter.
Charly McClain tells the fans not to miss the great wrestling on CMT next week.
