Reynolds and the Bruiser welcome us to another episode of “All-Star Championship Wrestling”!
Reynolds says they’re on their new home, the USA Network, bringing the NAWF into the homes of wrestling fans from coast to coast! He also takes a moment to welcome the great Canadian wrestling fans, watching on The Sports Network. He says that the NAWF is dedicated to bringing fans across the North America the very best in professional wrestling action!

Reynolds and Bruiser then discuss what took place last week, as Dino Bravo squared off with Abdullah the Butcher.
VTR: Last Week on All-Star Championship Wrestling:
We’re treated to a wild match between these two, that sees Bravo bleeding quite heavily from a cut on his forehead, courtesy of Abby’s fork. That doesn’t stop Bravo though, he continues to fight back, and actually seems to have the upper hand when the Masked Superstar, Abby’s stablemate, hits the ring!
The Superstar hits Bravo with the swinging neckbreaker, then holds him up while Abby repeatedly jabs at Dino’s head with his fork.
Suddenly, the fans in attendance errupt, and ROCKY JOHNSON, his ribs heavily taped, hits the ring! Johnson is wielding a chair, and he batters Abby and the Superstar with it before they wisely bail out of the ring.
As Heenan, Abby and the Superstar head for the locker room, Rocky helps Dino up, and they stand tall in the ring!
END VTR
When the video ends, Reynolds and Bruiser have been joined by Rocky Johnson and Dino Bravo.
Reynolds says that Rocky has been cleared to return to the ring for the Christmas Day show at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena, and on that show, he’s going to go one on one with the Madman from the Sudan, Abdullah the Butcher! Also on that card, Bravo will face Abby’s stablemate, the Masked Superstar!
Rocky says that he didn’t want to wait until Christmas to get his hands on the Butcher, but the doctors won’t clear him to get back in the ring any sooner. He says that means all he’s done since that attack was sit and think, think about what the Butcher did to him, and think about what he’s going to do to Abby when he gets him in the ring on Christmas Day at the Civic Arena! He says that he hopes Abby is listening, he holds up his right fist, and says when they meet at the Civic Arena, it’s going to be lights out for the Butcher!
Dino Bravo says that the Masked Superstar talks awfully tough for a guy that jumps people from behind while they’re in the middle of a match. He says that we’ll see just how tough the Superstar is when he has to face Bravo in the ring, and he can’t jump him from behind!
THE MASKED SUPERSTAR (w/ Bobby Heenan) beats NICK DECARLO. DeCarlo fares about as well as the Superstar’s other opponents have in recent weeks, as the Superstar hits him with the Swinging Neckbreaker, and pins DeCarlo by placing a foot on his chest.
We see a video of “Dr. Death” Steve Williams. First we see clips of him wrestling at Oklahoma University, then working out in the gym, and finally clips from his pro career, of Doc planting several opponents with his devastating Oklahoma Stampede!
Reynolds and the Bruiser talk about Steve Williams, with Reynolds saying that he’ll debut in two weeks here on All-Star Championship Wrestling. Bruiser says that this kid has the ability to be a big star, and he can’t wait to see him compete here in the NAWF.
DINO BRAVO beats JERRY MONTI. Bravo gets the win after an Airplane Spin. Late in the match, the Masked Superstar comes out and watches from ringside, but leaves as Bravo gets his hand raised.
Billy Red Lyons is backstage with Bobby Heenan, Abdullah the Butcher and the Masked Superstar. Heenan says that Rocky Johnson is even dumber than he looks if he thinks he even stands a chance against Abdullah the Butcher! He tells Billy Red that Abby nearly ended Rocky’s career already, and that will pale in comparison to what happens to Johnson on Christmas night at the Civic Arena! He says that Abby is unstoppable, and Rocky Johnson is just going to the be latest in a long trail of broken bodies that the Butcher will leave in his wake!
The Masked Superstar then talks about his match with Dino Bravo. He says that he’s going to take his time dismantling Dino Bravo on Christmas night, he’s going to enjoy inflicting as much punishment on Bravo as he can, and he’s going to take Dino apart, piece by piece! Superstar says that while Christmas is a time of joy for most, it’s going to be the worst day of Dino Bravo’s life!
ARN ANDERSON beats SNAKE BROWN. Anderson gets the win after a spinebuster.
THE PYT EXPRESS: KOKO WARE & NORVELL AUSTIN beat LANNY POFFO & AL SNOW. We get a good, clean scientific match here between these two teams. The PYTs get the win when Koko connects with a missile dropkick off the top rope on Al Snow for the pinfall. Afterwards, the two team shake hands.
Reynolds and the Bruiser talk about a man that’s on his way to the NAWF, a man that’s known throughout the wrestling world as “the Universal Hearthrob” ... Austin Idol! Reynolds says that they have a video of Austin Idol, from his time wrestling in Memphis, to introduce him to the NAWF fans.
THE FABULOUS FREEBIRDS: MICHAEL HAYES & TERRY GORDY beat JAY & MARK YOUNGBLOOD. The Youngbloods give the Freebirds a tough challenge, and a few times throughout the match, they look like they may be on their way to victory. But, in the end, the ‘Birds get their hands raised after Gordy drives Mark into the mat with a brutal Powerbomb for the 1, 2, 3.
Reynolds and Bruiser talk about the tag team tournament coming up on Christmas night at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena, to crown North American tag team champions. We already know that the Midnight Express, the PYT Express of Norvell Austin and Koko Ware, and the team of Bruno Sammartino Jr and Tony Parisi will be involved. Plus, the two teams we just saw in action, the Freebirds and the Youngbloods, will also be a part of the tournament. Reynolds says that 5 of the 8 teams, and the final three teams are:
The Moondogs: Rex and Spot
The Rougeau Brothers: Jacques and Raymond
The British Bruisers: Dynamite Kid and Marc Rocco
Reynolds says that it’s going to be a great tournament, and a great card overall, on Christmas night at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena!
Billy Red Lyons is standing by with NAWF Commissioner Johnny Powers. Powers says that we just heard the full field of 8 teams that will take part in a one-night tournament on Christmas night in Pittsburgh. He’s here now to talk about a tournament to crown the first NAWF North American champion! He says that the “Road to the Gold” tournament will take place over the first several weeks of January. The quarter-finals and semi-finals of the 8-man tournament will air right here on All-Star Championship Wrestling, with the finals set to take place at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena on Friday, February 1, 1985!
Powers says that they’ll have more information on the 8 men who will be a part of this tournament in the coming weeks.
NO DQ MATCH:
THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS: BOBBY EATON & DENNIS CONDREY (w/ Jim Cornette) beat TONY PARISI & BRUNO SAMMARTINO JR. The MX get the win after a wild match, when, as Tony Parisi heads to the top rope for the Cannonball Splash, Cornette tosses his tennis racket to Bobby Eaton, who clobbers Parisi with it, knocking him off the top rope. Dennis Condrey, who was on the mat, crawls over and covers Parisi, while Eaton charges into the ring and stops Sammartino from breaking up the count.
Reynolds says that Eaton and Condrey have stolen a victory from Parisi and Sammartino, but the two teams could meet again on Christmas night as part of the North American tag team title tournament, and if that happens, could we see a different result?
Reynolds and the Bruiser then wrap things up and hype next week’s show.
