JACK REYNOLDS is standing behind a podium, with the NAWF logo behind him. Reynolds welcomes his co-host, “the World’s most dangerous wrestler” DICK THE BRUISER!
Reynolds and the Bruiser welcome us to another episode of “All-Star Championship Wrestling”!
Reynolds says that before we get into the show, he wants everyone to take a look back at what happened last week, when Abdullah the Butcher interjected himself into a match between Rocky Johnson and Sailor White. Earlier in the show, Rocky had come out to stop Abby from continuing to assault his opponent after the match.
VTR: Last Week on All-Star Championship Wrestling:
Rocky Johnson vs Sailor White doesn’t even get started, as Abdullah the Butcher hits the ring, and attacks Rocky from behind just as he locks up with White. With Heenan directing traffic, Abby and Sailor White put the boots to Johnson, with Abby then pulling out the fork and opening up a cut on Rocky’s forehead.
It’s not long before Johnson is wearing the crimson mask. He tries desperately to fight back, but the combination of the beating he’s received, and the loss of blood has slowed him down, and Abby and White continue to pummel him. Abby hits two Butcher’s Axe elbowdrops, and that’s all she wrote for Rocky, he’s out on the mat, but the Butcher isn’t done! Heenan throws a chair into the ring, and while the Brain and Sailor White fight off anyone who tries to help Rocky, Abdullah repeatedly drives the chair into Rocky’s ribs!
Finally, Dino Bravo, Arn Anderson, Bruno Sammartino Jr and Tony Parisi are able to get into the ring and make the save.
END VTR
Reynolds says that Rocky will not be in action this week, due to the injuries he suffered in that attack, but he should be back in action soon.
Bruiser says that Rocky Johnson is as tough as they come, he’ll be back, and when that happens, there’s going to be hell to pay for Abdullah and Heenan!
Reynolds says that after that attack last week, Rocky’s friend Dino Bravo asked for a match with Abdullah, and that will be our main event here today!
THE MASKED SUPERSTAR (w/ Bobby Heenan) beats LANNY POFFO. Poffo puts up a good fight, but the Superstar is too much for Poffo to overcome, and the masked man gets the win by pinfall with the swinging neckbreaker.
Billy Red Lyons joins Heenan and Superstar at ringside after the match. Heenan talks a little about Abdullah the Butcher’s match with Dino Bravo later today, saying that after what Abby did to Rocky Johnson last week, Bravo must be even dumber than he looks, asking for a match with the Butcher. He says Bravo’s asking to have his career cut short!
Heenan then talks about the Masked Superstar, about how dominant he’s been, and wonders when Johnny Powers and the NAWF are going to give him some real competition.
Lyons says that next week, Johnny Powers will have information about a tournament to crown the North American champion, and he would think the Superstar would definitely be among the wrestlers being considered for that tournament.
Heenan says the other wrestlers in the tournament wouldn’t stand a chance against the Superstar, and tells Lyons that he’s looking at the next North American champ!
THE FABULOUS FREEBIRDS: MICHAEL HAYES & TERRY GORDY beat BOB MARCUS & NICK DECARLO. Skynyrd’s “Freebird” plays, as Michael Hayes and Terry Gordy make their way to the ring. The Freebirds made short work of their opponents last week, and this week is no different, as Gordy pins Marcus, by placing one foot on his chest, after a devastating Powerbomb!
Billy Red Lyons is standing by with THE PYT EXPRESS: KOKO WARE & NORVELL AUSTIN. The PYTs are wearing matching red leather jackets and wearing one glove each, ala Michael Jackson. They talk about how happy they are to be wrestling in this region, the home of Motown, and not far from the hometown of their hero, Jackson, which they call “their Graceland”.
Koko says that since the start of the NAWF a few weeks ago, they’ve kept an eye on the other teams in the area, like the Midnight Express and the Freebirds, and Koko thinks that he and Austin can whip ‘em all!
Norvell says they’ll be a part of the tag team tournament on Christmas Day, and they hope that the weekend following the tournament, they’ll be able to come out here on TV, in front of these great fans, as the first North American tag team champions!
Lyons says the PYT Express will make their in-ring debut right here next week!
BRUNO SAMMARTINO JR beats JERRY NOVAK. Sammartino and his tag team partner Tony Parisi are wrestling in singles bouts today. Bruno Jr gets the win, locking Novak in a hold his father used to great success, the bearhug.
TONY “CANNONBALL” PARISI beats SAILOR WHITE. Parisi takes a beating from the vicious White early in the match, but eventually makes a comeback, and hits the Cannonball splash for the pinfall victory.
Reynolds and the Bruiser talk about what took place in our tag team main event last week, between Parisi & Sammartino Jr and the Midnight Express.
VTR: Sammartino/Parisi vs Midnight Express, JIP:
After a wild, hard-hitting match, Sammartino has Eaton in a bearhug, when Jim Cornette hands his tennis racket to Dennis Condrey.
Condrey comes into the ring and clocks Sammartino with the racket!
This brings Parisi in, and he kicks Condrey in the stomach, grabs the racket, and bashes Condrey over the head with it! Since both teams used the weapon, the referee calls for the bell, and disqualifies both of them.
END VTR
Reynolds says that, as a result, a rematch between the two teams has been signed for next week, and both teams have asked to have disqualifications waived, so the match will be a No DQ match!
Billy Red Lyons is standing by with DINO BRAVO. Dino is set to face Abdullah the Butcher in our main event. Billy Red says that he and Bravo wrestled on several cards together a few years back, up north in Toronto. He says that fans in this area will remember Dino from his run with the IWA a decade ago.
Dino says that he was just starting out then, and he really enjoyed the time that he spent in the Cleveland area with the IWA. He’s gained plenty of experience since then, and now he’s in the prime of his career, and looking to go right to the top of the NAWF! He says that he wants to throw his hat in the ring for the North American title tournament that Billy Red mentioned earlier in this show, but before he can focus on that, he’s got another goal . . . to rid the NAWF of Bobby Heenan and Abdullah the Butcher!
Billy Red says that we saw footage earlier in the show, of Abdullah’s heinous attack on Dino’s friend Rocky Johnson. He says that Dino will face the Butcher shortly, and says that last year, in 1983, matches between him and Abby sold out the 20,000+ seat Forum in Montreal. He says that if those matches were any indication, the fans are in for a real treat here today!
Dino says that Billy’s right, he and Abby have a history. He says that he beat the Butcher in Montreal, and he’ll beat him here today!
ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER (w/ Bobby Heenan) battles DINO BRAVO to a NO-CONTEST. We’re treated to a wild match between these two, that sees Bravo bleeding quite heavily from a cut on his forehead, courtesy of Abby’s fork. That doesn’t stop Bravo though, he continues to fight back, and actually seems to have the upper hand when the Masked Superstar, Abby’s stablemate, hits the ring!
The Superstar hits Bravo with the swinging neckbreaker, then holds him up while Abby repeatedly jabs at Dino’s head with his fork.
Suddenly, the fans in attendance errupt, and ROCKY JOHNSON, his ribs heavily taped, hits the ring! Johnson is wielding a chair, and he batters Abby and the Superstar with it before they wisely bail out of the ring.
As Heenan, Abby and the Superstar head for the locker room, Rocky helps Dino up, and they stand tall in the ring!
Reynolds and Bruiser then wrap things up, and Reynolds hypes next week’s show, which will feature Tony Parisi and Bruno Sammartino Jr against the Midnight Express in a no DQ match, and information about the North American heavyweight title. Plus, we’ll see the in-ring debut of the PYT Express, and the native warriors Mark and Jay Youngblood!
