EXTREME WARFARE 4/5/1996 FROM THE OLYMPIC AUDITORIUM IN LOS ANGELES, CA!!!!!!!!
Joey Styles welcomes us to another edition of Extreme Warfare here on MTV as we continue the march towards Barely Legal ‘96, live from the Spectrum in Philadelphia. We already know that on that night, Extreme World Heavyweight Champion Ron Simmons defends his gold against Shane Douglas. Also on the card, International Champion Masa Chono will face his greatest challenge yet against The Wrestling Machine Gary Albright. The Extreme World Tag Team Titles will also be on the line as Raven & Stevie Richards go up against The Eliminators. A battle of the bullies will pit Bam Bam Bigelow against Big Van Vader, while World Light Heavyweight Champion Sabu defends against Jushin Thunder Lyger.
Styles moves on to another major match as The Human Suplex Machine Taz taking on Cactus Jack. However, due to Pau Heyman’s chicanery, tonight Cactus will face off with One Man Gang and ’Prime Time’ Brian Lee in a handicap match. Joey is the interrupted as ‘Black Betty’ by Ram Jam begins playing in the arena
‘Black Betty’ brings the arrival of ‘Prime Time’ Brian Lee to the XPW Arena here in Los Angeles. Lee steps over the top rope as a confused Joey Styles asks him just what he is doing out here tonight. Lee tells Joey Styles that he wants to make one thing perfectly clear. He has an agreement with Raven, but he sure as hell doesn’t do Paul Heyman’s bidding! Lee snarls tha he doesn’t give a damn about the One Man Gang – he’d just as soon choke-slam his fat ass as he would team with him.
Brian Lee tells Joey Styles that he has one thing to make perfectly clear. He likes the idea of beating the hell out of Cactus Jack and he’ll gladly choke-slam him ass to hell, but Heyman better not try to get in his business ever again. Lee isn’t scared of “the little midget Taz” so if the so-called Human Suplex Machine tries to get involved later, he’ll get a boot to the face just as soon as Cactus Jack will. Lee ends the interview by warning One Man Gang to stay the hell out of his way… or else! Joey Styles recaps Brian Lee’s warning and then ushers Bob Artese into the ring as more music comes over the PA!
’The Hulka’ BluesTHE BRAND NEW WORLD LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION SABU IS IN THE HOUSE!!!!!!
WORLD LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
SABU
VS.
ALEX WRIGHT
15 MINUTE TIME LIMIT
REFEREE: MIKE CHIODA
Joey Styles mentions that this will be the first defense for the brand new World Heavyweight Champion Sabu! The winner of this contest will go on to face Jushin Thunder Lyger at XPW Barely Legal ’97. The opening moment saw Sabu darting around the ring, until Wright caught him with a standing dropkick. Wright pulled Sabu up and hurled him shoulder-first into the ring post and then caught him with a flying head-scissors!
Alex Wright now locks in a Boston Crab and keeps Sabu grounded for the next few moments. He eventually releases Sabu and now moves him towards the ropes, putting Sabu’s knee across the bottom rope and slamming his body into it! Wright went the move again, but referee Mike Chioda ordered Alex Wright to back away.
Wright now starts doing his annoying dance moves, but Sabu managed to use the ropes to propel himself and he caught Alex Wright with a leaping DDT! Sabu, however, couldn’t follow up, and Alex Wright seized control again by kicking Sabu’s right knee out from under him.
Alex Wright worked over the knee for several more minutes, before finally trying to hook in the Boston Crab again! Sabu was able to roll through and catch Alex Wright in a small package, but Alex Wright kicked out of the pin. A furious Wright lept to his feet and kicked Sabu’s right knee out from under him again and this time, he dropped to the canvas and began pounding on Sabu’s right knee.
Alex Wright then managed to lock Sabu in the single leg crab, but Sabu refused to quit. Sabu finally reaches the ropes and Alex Wright is forced to break the hold. As Sabu got back to his feet, Wright leveled him with a forearm to the forehead. Alex Wright then went to the top rope, looking for a moon-sault, but Sabu grabbed the ropes and shook them! Alex Wright dropped, crotch-first, onto the top rope.
This was the exact opportunity Sabu was looking for! Sabu, weak leg and all, climbed to the top rope, leapt up and CONNECTS WITH A REVERSE FRANKENSTEINER ON WRIGHT!!!!!! SABU CRAWLS OVER AND HE GETS THE COVER NOW FOR THE 1-2-3!!!! Jushin Lyger nods his head in respect, turns around and walks off as the wobbly Sabu is handed his title belt.

SINGLES MATCH
PULSAR
VS. ‘THE SICILIAN SHOOTER’ LITTLE GUIDO
15 MINUTE TIME LIMIT
REFEREE: JIMMY JETT
Joey Styles talks about Pulsar’s debut on last week’s edition of Extreme Warfare, where he earned a victory over Little Guido’s fellow Full Blooded Italians member Disco Infero. Tonight, Pulsar has a tougher challenge as he takes on The Sicilian Shooter, who is accompanied to the ring by ‘The Big Don’ Tommy Rich.
Little Guido is his arrogant self before the match as he taunts Pulsar, who remains calm, cool and collected. Pulsar manages to fluster Little Guido with a series of spinning head-scissors and arm-drags, but Guido manages to fire back with a spinning kick to the masked star’s stomach.
Guido takes the control and seems to have Pulsar on the run as The Big Don cheers out on the floor, almost getting the pin after a fisherman brain-buster. The match moves along as Pulsar rebounds and catches Little Guido with a frankensteiner and covers the man, making sure to hook both legs for extra leverage.
However, Guido is able to kick out of the pinning attempt and rallies back by landing a snap swinging neack-breaker. Pulsar keeps coming at Little Guido and even tries for a cross-body block in the final moments of the match, but Guido catches him in midair and falls backwards, hitting a Hot Shot.
Guido now sets up Pulsar on the top rope and it looks like he is going for the Sicilian Slice, but Pulsar fights him. Pulsar lands several elbow shots to the back and stands up to connect with a flying atomic drop OFF THE TOP ROPE!!!! Both men are down now as Joey Styles marvels at the move we have just seen.
Pulsar crawls over and it looks as if he will make the cover, but the bell rings as he drapes his arm over Guido’s chest! Bob Artese announces that the time limit has expired in this match!
Pulsar is now pulling himself and he is asking for five more minutes, while Little Guido also looks upset on the floor. Joey Styles mentions that a rematch is likely on the cards. Little Guido is helped to the dressing room by The Big Don Tommy Rich, while Pular looks on from the ring.

. . . . COMMERCIAL BREAK #2 . . . .
Malia Hosaka is standing in backstage area with Mikey Whipwreck. Mikey tells Malia that he will have Cactus Jack’s back tonight, just like Cactus had his back last week. The interview is interrupted by XPW President Dory Funk Jr., who tells them that he is working as hard as he can to have Paul Heyman’s power stripped away. While Heyman could legally sign a handicap match for tonight, that doesn’t mean the match can’t be added to. Dory says his brother saw a lot in Mikey – so he will let Whipwreck prove himself by teaming with Cactus Jack tonight! Mikey looks a little nervous, but says he’ll give it his best. Dory Funk Jr. also announces that right here next week, Mr. Wrestling Mike Rotundo will have a chance to put up or shut up when he teams with Abdullah The Butcher against The Sandman and Balls Mahoney! Funk thanks Malia and excuses himself, while Hosaka sends it back up to the ring for our next match.
EXTREME WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
RAVEN & STEVIE RICHARDS
VS.
HACK MYERS & THE ANGRY AMISH ROADKILL
15 MINUTE TIME LIMIT
REFEREE: MIKE CHIODA
What a difference a week makes as this week the rookie Angry Amish Roadkill finds himself teaming with ‘The Extreme Shah’ Hack Myers against the very men he attempted to align with last week, Raven and Stevie Richards. Raven steps out onto the apron and insists on letting Richards start the match. Stevie keeps the edge, but just barely as the bigger opponents get in quite a few shots on the champion.
Joey Styles even speculates that the titles could change hands as Hack Myers gets the crowd chanting “Shah” as he lands some brutal right hands and then a big clothesline on Richards. Raven senses the belts slipping away and he finally slaps a prone Stevie on the shoulder to tag himself in. Then Raven storms into the ring with a vengeance with a spear and begins drilling Myers.
Roadkill attempts to run into the ring, but Raven cuts him off with a clothesline. Raven now picks Myers up and drives him into the canvas with a pumphandle slam and then perches. Hack slowly struggles back to his feet, only to get a boot to the stomach and a Raven Effect DDT!
Raven makes the cover here and he gets the 1-2-3! The champions retain when Raven FINALLY shows some fire and delivers a successful title defense for his time, after sitting on the sidelines for most of the match.
WINNERS: EXTREME WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS RAVEN & STEVIE RICHARDS
Raven, Stevie Richards, Van Hammer and The Blue Meanie pick off Roadkill after the match and begin to work him over, with Richards connecting with a brutal Stevie Kick! Now Raven grabs Roadkill and it looks like he will plant the rookie with a Raven Effect DDT… UNTIL:
Saturn and Kronus charge down the ramp, but Raven and Richards make a quick decision to bail. Raven shoves Blue Meanie in the Eliminators’ path and now makes a bee-line out of the ring a he drags Van Hammer with him. Stevie is long gone as well as The Eliminators lay out Blue Meanie with the Total Elimination. Saturn motions that he is taking the belts as an uncharacteristically concerned Raven looks on from the crowd.
Malia Hosaka is joined backstage by Shane Douglas and his valet Francine. Hosaka hypes that Douglas will be in action against Extreme World Heavyweight Champion Ron Simmons’s best friend and former tag team partner Butch Reed. Douglas says it’s very clear to him that Ron is sending Butch to do his dirty work – but that’s just fine. Shane likes the idea of being the man who beat Doom all on his own. Shane then smiles and says not totally alone – because he has friends just like Ron Simmons does. Douglas teases that one of them just might show up later tonight if Reed and Simmons try to pull a fast one on the future Extreme World Heavyweight Champion!
. . . . COMMERCIAL BREAK . . . .
Malia Hosaka is standing outside the door of XPW President Dory Funk Jr., where Little Guido is banging on the door shouting that he wants another match with Pulsar! The Big Don Tommy Rich is also shouting as he tells “Rich Landrum” that Guido had “Tiger Mask” beat earlier tonight and deserves the chance to finish the job. Dory finally swings the door open and sternly tells Little Guido that Pulsar already asked for the rematch and it WILL happen next week with five more minutes added onto the time limit. Dory then orders Little Guido and Tommy Rich away and Malia Hosaka sends us up to the ring for our next match.
SINGLES MATCH
BUTCH REED WITH RON SIMMONS
VS.
SHANE DOUGLAS WITH FRANCINE
15 MINUTE TIME LIMIT
REFEREE: MIKE CHIODA
‘Fight the Power’ plays first as Extreme World Heavyweight Champion Ron Simmons and Butch Reed make their way to the ring. Next out is Shane Douglas with his valet Francine. Douglas steps aside as he enters the ring and lets Francine strut, just before the referee calls for the bell. Shane Douglas and Butch Reed meet in the center of the ring. They jaw a little bit and it leads to Reed giving Douglas a hard shove. Shane Douglas slaps Reed across the face. Butch Reed tackles Shane Douglas and begins pounding on Douglas’ forehead. Butch Reed sends Shane Douglas off the ropes and catches him with a big clothesline and he’s got the crowd going here as Ron Simmons rallies the fans to chant for Butch.
As Reed turns around, Shane Douglas is up and he drives his shoulder into the back of Reed’s right knee, sending Reed crumpling to the canvas. Shane stays right on him by stomping away Reed’s knee and then driving his elbows into it. Shane Douglas works over Butch Reed’s knee for the next few minutes and now looks to apply the Figure Four Leg Lock- and shows his arrogance by shouting “WOOOOO!” Douglas twirls around and goes to lock in the hold, before shouting “WOOOOOO” once again. Simmons is rallying the fans here as Douglas tries to apply the hold, but Butch Reed kicks him off and Shane crashes into the turnbuckle. Reed is limping to his feet, but he proceeds to grab Shane Douglas by the hair and bash his head into the turnbuckle several times.
Reed now lifts Shane Douglas up into the military press, but the knee is too hurt and Butch drops Shane quickly. Reed has a look of agonizing pain on his face and Shane Douglas is right there to kick his leg out from underneath him. Shane Douglas goes to over grab Butch Reed, but incredibly Reed is still fighting and he knocks Shane Douglas away. Douglas now pulls himself up just as Reed does, while Francine gets on the apron! Ron Simmons objects and he jumps on the apron and yanks her down to the floor! Simmons is telling her to hit the bricks… WHEN HE IS ATTACKED FROM BEHIND BY BAM BAM BIGELOW!!!!
The Beast from the East Bam Bam Bigelow has just bum-rushed the Extreme Heavyweight Champion at ringside and they are pounding away at each other! Bigelow has come to help out his friend Shane Douglas – and Joey Styles admits he is surprised by the move. However, the party just grows as THE MAN THEY CALL VADER RUNS DOWN THE AISLE AND BEGINS DECKING BIGELOW!!!
Ron Simmons takes exception to this and now he shoves Vader! Vader now drills Simmons! Bigelow drills Vader! Simmons drills Vader and Bigelow! We have a three-way brawl on the floor as Butch Reed looks on from the ring!
Reed finally turns around just in time to get planted with a belly-to-belly suplex by Shane Douglas! Shane covers now and referee Mike Chioda makes the count for the 1-2-3! Officials are now at ringside with Dory Funk Jr. trying to break up Bigelow, Vader and Simmons, while a furious Butch Reed pulls himself up in the ring and Shane Douglas and Francine head for higher ground.

Security then arrived on the scene to finally break up the brawl. Dory Funk Jr. joins Joey Styles at ringside and says he likes a good fight, but it needs to be sanctioned. So the main event next week will be Bam Bam Bigelow teaming up with Shane Douglas against Vader and the Extreme World Heavyweight Champion Ron Simmons! Joey Styles hypes the match, but admits he does not think Simmons and Vader can get along after what we have just seen! TV TIME REMAINING
REFEREE: JIMMY JETT
‘Born to be Wild’ plays in the arena as Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck make their way to the ring for this tag team main event. One Man Gang is out next as he threatens to squash Mikey Whipwreck, until ‘Black Betty’ by Ram Jam begins playing in the XPW Arena! Lee storms down to the ring, passes right by the Gang and begins brawling with Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck.
One Man Gang soon pounces and now we have another piersix brawl on our hands. Gang has Mikey in the corner and pounds away on him as Lee and Cactus trades rights and lefts in the ring.
Lee lands several shoots and backs up for the big boot. Lee hits the ropes for the big boot, but Cactus Jack ducks it! Cactus comes off the ropes with the Cactus Clothesline, sending himself and Brian Lee tumbling out to the floor.
One Man Gang whips Mikey across the ring now and he charges for a big splash in the corner! Mikey is able to move out to the way at the last second and Gang slams full-steam into the corner.
Mikey quickly scales the top rope for a missile dropkick that succeeds in knocking the Gang to he canvas! Mikey scurries over for the cover, but Mikey struggles out. Lee has now thrown Cactus back into the ring and now he signals for the end.
Brian Lee grips Cactus Jack for the throat and won’t let go even as Cactus lands some shots to the stomach! Cactus is trying to fight it and he is gaining some ground, but Lee rebounds with a knee to the stomach!
Brian Lee is ready to choke-slam Cactus here, but Mikey darts over… only to get gripped by Lee’s other hand. Brian Lee shows incredible strength as he lifts BOTH Cactus and Mikey up in the air with a double choke-slam that shakes the damn ring!
Lee is right back up and he looks down to pin Cactus, but instead starts to walk off. He is stopped by the One Man Gang, who wants to know what the hell Brian Lee is doing! Lee listens to him complain for a minute, before booting his own partner and laying the 450 pound One Man Gang out with a choke-slam of his own!
Brian Lee is showing that he’s nobody errand boy tonight as he climbs over the top rope and storms off to the dressing room. This match is back to Paul Heyman’s original vision of a handicap tag team match… but you have to believe this isn’t what Paul had in mind!
All three men are slow to their feet but shockingly the Gang wobbles right into a Whipper Snapper! He pops back up and wobbles around, allowing Cactus to kick him in the stomach and connect with the Double Arm DDT!
Cactus Jack motions for Mikey to make the cover and when he does… Jimmy Jett counts the 1-2-3!!!!! Cactus and Mikey win!!

EXTREME WARFARE 4/12/1996 FROM THE OLYMPIC AUDITORIUM IN LOS ANGELES, CA!!!!!!!!
Joey Styles welcomes us to another edition of Extreme Warfare here on MTV as we continue the march towards Barely Legal ‘96, live from the Spectrum in Philadelphia. Styles runs tonight’s card – which includes Cactus Jack vs. his protégé Mikey Whipwreck, Sandman and Balls Mahoney against Abdullah The Butcher and Mike Rotundo, as well as Ron Simmons teaming with Vader against Bam Bam Bigelow and Shane Douglas. Joey is then interrupted by Paul Heymanp, who makes his way down to the ring as ‘This is Extreme‘ by Harry Slash and the Slashtones plays.
Paul Heyman advises Joey Styles to leave the ring because he has some important announcements to make. Heyman wants to speak to Brian Lee, so the big man needs to get down to the ring. He doesn’t have to wait long as ‘Black Betty’ begins blaring in the arena. Lee storms to the ring and climbs into the ring. Lee immediately gets in Heyman’s face, but Paul tells him to chill out. Heyman says he understands a miscommunication occurred last week so he is willing to let bygones be bygones with Brian Lee.
Brian Lee rolls his eyes as Heyman says he willing to let everything go… as long as Lee does him a favor tonight. Paul announces that he has turned tonight’s match between Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck into a Three Way Dance… with Lee as the third man! Paul tells Lee that if he takes out both Cactus and Mikey tonight, all will be forgiven! Brian Lee stands looking at Paul Heyman… and then grabs him by the throat! Brian Lee doesn’t do Paul Heyman’s bidding and he is about to send him straight to heel with a choke-slam! Heyman is beginning for mercy and gesturing wildly as the camera spots a man climbing over the crowd barrier!
. . . . . . . .
[ IT’S 911!!!!!!!
911 IS BACK!!!!!!!
Brian Lee doesn’t see anything coming as 911 drills him from behind with a double sledge! Lee drops Heyman, who falls to the canvas. 911 hits the ropes now and he drills Lee with a boot to the face, that sends Brian tumbling out to the ramp. 911 now steps over the top rope over to the ramp and now he grips Brian Lee… and choke-slams him on the metal ramp!!!! Paul Heyman is up now and he is gloating as 911 storms back into the ring and stands at his side. Heyman grabs the microphone and says that he and his new bodyguard 911 are looking forward to see Brian Lee give his all against Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck tonight! Heyman and 911 walk off as Lee refuses any medical help and leaves on his own power.
MATCH #1:
PULSAR
VS.
LITTLE GUIDO
20 MINUTE TIME LIMIT
REFEREE: JIMMY JETT
This is a rematch from last week, when these two incredible athletes wrestled to a time limit draw. XPW President Dory Funk Jr. signed an immediate rematch – with five more minutes added to the time limit. Little Guido is accompanied as usual by ‘The Big Don’ Tommy Rich, who is raring to go here. Pulsar and Guido lock up as the bell rings, and Pulsar shoulder-drags Guido to the mat.
Little Guido pops back up and screams that Pulsar grabbed his hair. As Guido bickers with the official, Pulsar catches him across the side of the head with a dropkick. Guido bounces to the ropes and Pulsar sends him off the ropes and catches Little Guido with a spinning DDT. Little Guido struggles to get to his feet. Pulsar charges over, but Guido grabs him by the tights and hurls him to the outside. The fans boo as Guido pulls himself up and he has a big grin on his face. Gudio then gives all of the fans his Italian salute… of sorts.
Pulsar is back into the ring and Guido stomps him on the head as he gets to his knees. Guido drives down his forearms across the back. Guido drafs Pulsar up and then hoists him up in the air and power-bombs Pulsar down to the mat. Little Guido then plants Pulsar with a series of knee drops to the chest as The Big Don cheers him on.
Little Guido now goes for the cover, but once again Pulsar is able to kick out. Pulsar summons some inner-strength and pulls himself to his feet. Guido kicks Pulsar in the gut, but Pulsar responds with a super kick that rocks Guido.
Pulsar hooks Guido and drops him with a Rocker Dropper and now he covers, but this time its Guido who kicks out!!! Both men are slow to their feet after this grueling match now as Pulsar shoots Guido off the ropes. Guido ducks a clothesline attempt now – and they both come flinging off the ropes!
This time Guido goes for a Thesz Press and Pulsar goes for a cross-body – and they collide! These two men are down now, but as Jimmy Jett begins the count, the bell rings! Jett confers with Bob Artese, who announces that we have another time limit draw! Pulsar and Guido are both unhappy – this rivalry is not even close to being settled.
[ WINNER: TIME LIMIT DRAW
. . . COMMERCIAL BREAK . . .
*Extreme World Tag Team Champion Raven is joined by his Nest – Stevie Richards, The Blue Meanie and Van Hammer. Raven talks about his match next week against Saturn, which will be a preview of their Barely Legal ’97 match. Raven laments that Saturn and Kronus could have been welcomed into his Nest and served under a benevolent leader, but they seem to only desire a war of attrition. Raven cryptically says that the Nest remains open and if the Eliminators are dead-set against joining… others may take their place. Quote the Raven, nevermore.
[ MATCH #2:
THE GANGSTAS
VS. THE WILD BUNCH
15 MINUTE TIME LIMIT
REFEREE: MIKE CHIODA
‘Natural Born Killaz’ blares in the Olympic Arena as New Jack and Mustafa brind their shopping cart full of weapons down the ring. New Jack then gets on the microphone and tells the Public Enemy to watch close because he and Mustafa are about to kill two white boy punks like them! Billy Black and Joel Deaton are no slouches, but they find themselves in real trouble as New Jack and Mustafa totally disregard the rules to maul them.
The referee can barely keep control as New Jack works over Joel Delton with a chain, while Billy Black and Mustafa brawl on the floor. New Jack busts Deaton wide open with the chain and then begins choking him with it, as Mike Chioda urges him to stop. Billy Black dives into the ring to help his partner, but Mustafa is right there to bash him with a stop sign!
The Gangstas now begin working over Deaton and take turns opening up that wound even further. New Jack now grabs a steel chair from his cart and he climbs up to the top rope as Mustafa pulls Deaton up. New Jack comes flying off with a chair shot to Deaton’s head and now finally he covers to get the three count.
New Jack and Mustafa are not done, however, as they begin stomping the hell out of Billy Black as well. Soon, ‘Here Comes the Hotstepper’ begins playing as THE PUBLIC ENEMY charge down to the ring and begin fighting all over the ringside area with The Gangstas. It takes Dory Funk Jr. and a dozen prelim wrestlers and officials to break them up.
WINNERS: THE GANGSTAS
. . . COMMERCIAL BREAK . . .
*Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck are joined by Malia Hosaka backstage. Cactus tells Mikey that he doesn’t like that they have to face other… but now they have to face Brian Lee as well. Mikey tells Cactus that Heyman is trying to play games with them, but a match is match and he doesn’t want Cactus to pull any punches. Cactus hesitates and agrees – but then mentions maybe they can get the job done by not pulling any punches on Brian Lee first. Cactus then sends a message to Taz, saying that the time for these little games is almost up. He will have Taz in the ring at Barely Legal ’97 and he will out all of his anger, frustration and hatred on the Human Suplex Machine! Bang bang!
MATCH #3: CACTUS JACK
VS.
MIKEY WHIPWRECK
VS. BRIAN LEE
20 MINUTE TIME LIMIT
REFEREE: JIMMY JETT
Paul Heyman, 911 and ‘The Human Suplex Machine’ Taz are out to join Joey Styles at the commentary both before the match. Paul tells Joey that Dory Funk Jr. tried to embarrass him last week by changing his match, but tonight he will have the last laugh as Mikey, Cactus and Lee beat the hell out of each other. Taz then warns the competitors that he will be happy to choke all three of them out! Cactus and Mikey come out together and both men look concerned as Brian Lee stumbles out to the ring, looking furious.
Lee immediately makes a bee-line for 911, but he’s stopped back Cactus Jack, who begins hammering away on him. Cactus and Mikey double-team Brian Lee and connecting with a double clothesline on the big man. Cactus then whips Lee into the ropes and lands the Cactus Clothesline, that sends both Jack and Lee out to the floor. Cactus Jack pops up with a ‘bang bang’ and then slides back into the ring.
Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck are looking at each other here. Cactus throws up his arms in confusion as Mikey just nods angrily. These two friends eventually lock up, but it’s broken up as Mikey backs into the corner. They lock up again, as Mikey arm-drags Cactus to the canvas. Mikey then comes off the ropes with a dropkick that stuns Cactus, who climbs back to his feet and gives Mikey some applause.
This becomes a three-way-brawl again as Brian Lee rolls back into the ring and bashes Cactus from behind. Mikey runs over, but Lee drills him with a boot to the face. Brian is wasting no time here as he signals for the choke-slam on Cactus. Mikey is up again, but Lee boots him away!
Paul Heyman now motions to 911, who charges over to the ring and begins yelling at Lee. Brian still his Cactus gripped as he jaws with 911, only for Cactus to land a kick to the stomach! Lee releases the grip, only to get kicked again and laid out with the Double Arm DDT! Cactus covers Lee now as Mikey stands back, while the referee counts the 1-2-3! Cactus Jack wins the Three Way Dance!
Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck raise each other’s hands after the match, while Brian Lee angrily gets back to his feet. He is now daring 911 to get in the ring with him! 911 charges ahead, but Paul Heyman and Taz pull him back. Heyman then grabs the microphone from Bob Artese.
PAUL HEYMAN: “Well, THAT was quite a show. But it won’t be anything compared to next week as Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck team up… AGAINST THE GANGSTAS!!!!! And as for you Brian Lee, we will all see you get you get choked out live on MTV as you face the Human Suplex Machine Taz!”
Taz smiles and motions that he will finish off Lee next week, while Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck angrily shake their heads at Pau Heyman’s continued treachery.

Abdullah goes for the fork, but Balls Mahoney knocks it away with the chair and then bashes him across the forehead with in. Balls picks up the massive Butcher and slams him! He then drills Butcher with the chair again. Mike Rotundo doesn’t like this at all as he abandons the ring and hops out into the crowd, while both Sandman and Mahoney work over The Butcher.
Balls Mahoney is now forking Abdullah and throws the big man into a DDT from the Sandman, who is then handed a beer by Chastity. Balls then drills Abdullah with the super kick, and now signals to the top rope. Mahoney goes up top and connects with a frog splash – what a feat for the big man! REFEREE: MIKE CHIODA
Shane Douglas and Bam Bam Bigelow are out first with Francine as ‘Perfect Strangers’ by Deep Purple plays in the arena. Douglas and Francine are all smiles as they strut down to the ring, while Bam Bam Bigelo is looking as intense as ever as he storms around the ring. The Man They Call Vader is out first as he waits on the ramp, as he is soon joined by Extreme World Heavyweight Champion Ron Simmons and ‘Hacksaw’ Butch Reed. Simmons and Vade trade words, before moving up to the ring.
Bam Bam backs Ron Simmons into the corner and takes some shots to his midsection. Bam Bam hip-tosses him out of the corner and the catches a dazed Ron Simmons with a running spear. Bigelow now shakes off the impact of that spear as he looks towards Vader, who stares back at him intently.
Ron Simmons is back to his feet and he catches a cocky Bam Bam with a big right hand that rocks Bam Bam. Ron Simmons sends Bam Bam into his corner and then tags in Vader, who comes in and begins choking Bigelow. Vader manages to lift Bam Bam above his head and drop Bigelow across his knee! Vader then shouts ‘Who’s the man?’, waiting for Bam Bam to get to his feet.
Bigelow staggers up and Vader goes for a charge, but Bam Bam adjustsand catches Vader with a spine-buster! Bam Bam rolls over to his corner and tags in Shane Douglas, who charges in at the behest of Francine on the outside. Douglas is in and he works over the shoulder. Douglas picks Vader up and sends him shoulder-first into the corner and The Man They Vader is surprisingly looking vulnerable here. Douglas continues working over the shoulder.
Shane Douglas twists the arm and then begins pounding on it with elbow strikes. Vader finally manages to get out of the hold with a shot to the throat. Vader then drives Douglas into the canvas with a choke-slam, that seems to sting even the big man. Vader then gets across the ring and tags in Ron Simmons, who comes in and clocks Douglas!
Bam Bam Bigelow runs in, but he gets a right hand from Ron Simmons. Bam Bam has now tagged in, but he and Douglas are double-teaming Ron Simmons. Vader comes in and he drills Bigelow and then clotheslines him over the top rope and down to the floor. Vader follows him out to the floor and begins choking Bigelow.
In the ring, Shane Douglas shoots Ron Simmons off the ropes and goes for the belly-to-belly, but Ron dodges! Simmons connects off the opposite side with a flying shoulder-block! Ron Simmons is back on his feet now and he is furious! He is going nose to nose with Vader now! Here comes Bigelow – and he drills both men with a double diving clothesline! Bigelow is up now, but soon Vader is too and Vader avalanches him! Vader is shouting ‘Who’s the man ‘ – but it might not be him as he turns and gets speared to hell by Ron Simmons!

Plus, Malia Hosaka will speak to both Ron Simmons and Shane Douglas about their Extreme World Heavyweight Title match.
Match #1: Pulsar vs. Simon Diamond
The masked Pulsar is coming off two time limit draws against Little Guido of the Full Blooded Italians. Diamond makes a comeback, but misses a clothesline and gets drilled with a frankensteiner to give Pulsar the win.
Winner: Pulsar
*Little Guido, ‘The Big Don’ Tommy Rich and Big Vito come out after the match and surround Pulsar. Guido gets on the microphone and challenges Pulsar to meet him two weeks from tonight when Extreme Warfare returns to MTV in a match with no limit. Pulsar accepts, but soon finds the Full Blooded Italians clothesline in on him. He manages to dive away as Big Vito and Tommy Rich charge, leading to wallop each other. Pulsar then connects with a flying head-scissors and slides out of the ring to escape, as the FBI nurse their wounds in the ring.

*Malia Hosaka interviews the #1 contenders to the Extreme World Heavyweight Title, Shane Douglas and Francine. Douglas wants to keep things short and sweet. His time to reach the top of the mountain is now and destiny beckons him to Barely Legal ’97. Shane Douglas vows to “take every precaution” to ensure that Simmons and Butch Reed cannot cheat him out of becoming the next Extreme World Heavyweight Champion. He also expresses hopes that his friend Bam Bam Bigelow will beat the holy hell out of Vader at the PPV.
Match #2: The Gangstas vs. Mikey Whipwreck and Cactus Jack.
This a hell of a brawl, with all four men fighting around the ringside area as referee Pee Wee Moore tries to keep some semblances of control. The finish sees New Jack grab a crutch out of his cart and go to drill Cactus with in, but The Public Enemy make an appearance in the crowd to distract New Jack. Cactus Jack seizes the advantage, boots New Jack in the gut and connects with the Double Arm DDT to score the win… and foil another Paul Heyman plan!
Winner: Cactus Jack & Mikey Whipwreck
*Raven is sitting in the bowels of the building, with Stevie Richards, The Blue Meanie and Van Hammer surrounding him. Raven says tonight, Saturn will see what happens when you go to war with the Nest. Tonight, the elimination of the Eliminators will commence. Quote the Raven nevermore!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
*Extreme World Heavyweight Champion Ron Simmons and his friend Butch Reed are joining Malia Hosaka. Simmons responds to Shane Douglas by saying that Shane’s only destiny is getting his ass whipped in front of the entire world at Barely Legal ’97. Butch Reed assures his friend that he will be keeping an eye on Francine to make sure the “powers that be” here at XPW succeed in getting the title off a great black athlete like Ron Simmons! Simmons thanks Butch, but says he won’t need any help come Sunday.
Match #3: ‘Prime Time’ Brian Lee vs. The Human Suplex Machine Taz
Brian Lee is still nursing a neck injury from being choke-slammed on the steel ramp by 911 last week. Lee brings the fight to Taz, who to his credit does not back up even an inch. Brian uses his power to take the advantage and connects with a big boot to the face.
He looks to signal for the choke-slam, but 911 low-blows him from behind and choke-slams him while Paul Heyman distracts the referee. Taz then locks on the Taz Mission and although Lee never submits, eventually referee Pee Wee Moore calls for the bell.
Winner: Taz
*Taz and 911 continue to attack Brian Lee after the bell, as Paul Heyman looks on gleefully. That expression changes when Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck hit the ring and begin brawling with 911 and Taz. Brian Lee eventually gets back to his feet as well and clothesines 911 to the floor, with Heyman scurrying away as well. Cactus and Mikey land several shots on Taz, before he is pulled out to the floor by 911 and Paul Heyman. In the ring, Cactus Jack offers his hand to Brian Lee, who stares down both he and Mikey for several seconds. Lee nods his head ‘no’ and then leaves on his own, while Cactus and Mikey look perplexed in the ring.

Joey Styles welcomes us to the most hardcore city in the USA – Philadelphia, PA – to Xtreme Pro Wrestling’s Barely Legal ’96! Styles opens up this special PPV event by running down the card. Tonight, we will see Shane Douglas attempt to prove that he is a franchise player as challenges Extreme Heavyweight Champion Ron Simmons.
We also have ‘The Wrestling Machine’ Gary Albright attempting to unseat Masa Chono as International Heavyweight Champion. Chono faces his toughest challenger tonight here at Barely Legal ’96.
Joey moves on to promote the ‘Battle of the Beasts’ as Big Van Vader steps into the ring against Bam Bam Bigelow. These two men are two of the most destructive forces in the history of professional wrestling, but they have never squared off in the United States. The ring has been reinforced and the steel guard rails have been strengthened to be sure this match can be contained.
Raven and Stevie Richards also put their tag team titles on the line against The Eliminators in match that he has been hotly anticipated for the last several weeks. Saturn says he and Kronus are more than capable of playing Raven’s Rules and have also vowed to pin Raven right here tonight. However, how will they compete after being attacked by The Pitbulls?
We also have Cactus Jack making his first appearance on an Xtreme Pro Wrestling PPV as he tries to get revenge against The Human Suplex Machine Taz. Paul Heyman will be in Taz’s corner, which means Cactus will have to contend with two devious minds. Music video introduction airs now to the tune of ‘Thunderkiss ‘65’ by White Zombie to officially kick off Barely Legal ’96.
WORLD LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH:
SABU VS JUSHIN THUNDER LIGER
This match will pit former tag team partners against each other for the World Light Heavyweight Title. Liger is out first and he has busted out his black and white costume for this show! He stands waiting as ‘The Hulka Blues’ begins playing as Sabu darts down the ramp with the title belt strung around his neck.
Sabu is darting around the ring during the introductions as Liger stands with his hands on his hips. The two men walk towards each other, with Sabu uncharacteristically nodding his head with a sign of respect! Liger does the same and these two men now square off for what Joey Styles predicts will be a match to remember. They grapple now as Sabu shoots Liger off the ropes.
Sabu charges, but Jushin Liger gets him away with a side kick to the stomach. Jushin Liger shoots Sabu into the corner now and he vaults himself into the corner with a spinning wheel kick on Sabu! Jushin Liger climbs the ropes and he hurls Sabu to the canvas with a huracanra! Jushin Liger now goes for the cover, but Sabu is out just before three! Jushin Liger hits the ropes with a twisting elbow drop on Sabu, but Sabu moves out of the way! Liger hits hard on the canvas!
Liger slides out to the floor for a second to walk off the daze, but Sabu leaps through the top and middle rope with a suicide dive that sends Jushin Liger into the rail and Sabu into the front row! Both stars are slow to their feet, but Sabu grabs Jushin Liger, suplexes him into the air and drops him stomach-first on the steel guard rail! Now Sabu climbs onto the guard rail himself, steadies himself and leaps with a leg drop that sends Jushin Liger tumbling to the front row and Sabu falling into the ringside area.
Jushin Liger is eventually able to pull himself up and slides back over the guard rail into the ringside area. Sabu is up now and he charges with a steel chair. Jushin Liger blocks him with a kick to the gut and now he suplexes Sabu onto the chair! Sabu is down here and now Jushin Liger climbs to the top rope. Jushin Liger steadies himself and now he leaps backwards: MOONSAULT DOWN TO SABU ON THE FLOOR!!!!!!! Sabu and Jushin Liger are in tatters on the floor and they are down for several moments as Jimmy Jett tries to determine if the match can even continue.
Sabu is slow to his feet as he rolls back into the ring. Sabu rolls around on the canvas as Jushin Liger struggles to his feet. Liger slowly climbs back into the ring and tries to regroup in the corner. Sabu gets back up as well and he limps over. Sabu reaches out – AND LIGER KICKS HIM RIGHT IN THE NUTS!!!!!!
That was certainly uncharacteristic of Liger, who now scoops up Sabu and drives him into the canvas with the Liger Bomb! Liger covers now he and he gets… 1 . . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . . . 3!!!!!!!
WE HAVE A NEW CHAMPION!!!!! WE HAVE A NEW CHAMPION!!!!! WE HAVE A NEW CHAMPION!!!!!
Referee Jimmy Jet now hands the belt to Jushin Liger, who proudly straps the title around his waist! Sabu is pulling himself up now as Liger parades over and offers his hand for his former partner Sabu to shake! Joey Styles mentions that Liger wasn’t looking for sportsmanship when he kicked Sabu in the nuts at the end of that match. Sabu hesitates, but finally shakes Liger’s hand.
Jushin Liger now motions for Sabu to raise his hand in the air? That’s a bit much, Joey Styles says. Sabu looks at him incredulously… and walks off! Liger motions like he doesn’t understand and then goes back to celebrating his title win here in our opening match at Barely Legal ’96. Joey Styles sends us to an interview with Malia Hosaka backstage.
WINNER: WORLD LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION JUSHIN LIGER
Malia Hosaka is standing by with New Jack and Mustafa Saed, the team known as The Gangstas. Malia asks how they have prepared to face The Public Enemy. New Jack tells Malia to shut up and says he doesn’t some Hawaiian tramp asking him any questions. He goes on to say that unlike the Public Enemy, he and Mustafa are actually from the streets. Tonight, ‘Flyboy’ Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge find out how The Gangstas settle their grudges.
Joey Styles is back at ringside and he mentions that Jushin Liger really dragged out his victory ceremony – will he be so lucky if Sabu gets a rematch? ‘Gangstas Paradise’ by Coolio begins playing now, which means its time for what should be one hell of a fight between The Public Enemy and The Gangstas.
THE GANGSTAS VS THE PUBLIC ENEMY
New Jack and Mustafa are on their way down to the ring with the shopping cart full of weapons – WHEY THEY ARE JUMPED FROM BEHIND BY THE PUBLIC ENEMY! Flyboy Rocco is trading punches with New Jack as Mustafa brawls around ringside with Johnny Grunge. Referee Pee Wee Moore has extreme trouble getting this one under control as New Jack uses a pool cue to bash over Flyboy Rocco Rock’s back, while Johnny Grunge chokes Mustafa with one of the cable cords at ringside. The chaos finally comes to an end when New Jack misses a diving elbow drop with a chair in his hand! Rocco Rock now climbs the top rope and connects with the Drive By and makes the cover to score the three count! The Public Enemy get a big win over The Gangstas.
WINNERS: THE PUBLIC ENEMY
“Here Comes The Hot Stepper” by Ini Kamoze plays as The Public Enemy lead the crowd in raising their hands in the shuffle after the match. This victory celebration doesn’t last long as New Jack pulls a guitar out of his shopping cart and busts it over Johnny Grunge’s head from behind! Flyboy Rocco Rock is over, but Mustafa bashes him with the pool cue. The Gangstas then set Flyboy Rocco up on the table in the ring and New Jack flies off the top rope with a splash on Rock through the table! New Jack and Mustafa might have lost the match, but the Public Enemy don’t look like winners tonight! Joey Styles sends us to Malia Hosaka as medics tend to Rock and Grunge.
Malia Hosaka is standing by with the challenger for the Extreme Heavyweight Title, Shane Douglas and his valet Francine. Douglas boasts that tonight is the night that history will be made in Xtreme Pro Wrestling He will take his rightful place as the Extreme Heavyweight Champion! Douglas knows that Ron Simmons has Butch Reed watching his back. Rest assure, Shane Douglas also has someone keeping an eye on this match for him. His buddy Bam Bam Bigelow is busy with Big Van Vader tonight, but Douglas has other friends and they are always willing to lend a helping hand. Douglas smiles maniacally as Malia sends us back to Joey Styles.
Back in the arena, the Public Enemy are up on their feet and they are refusing medical help. Flyboy Rocco Rock and Johnny Gruge shove Dory Funk Jr. and the referees aside and limp off to the back with angry expressions on their faces. Next up is a hotly anticipated grudge match as Cactus Jack attempts to get revenge for his friend Terry Funk against Paul Heyman’s Human Suplex Machine Taz.
CACTUS JACK VS TAZ WITH PAUL HEYMAN
Taz perches in the corner, with Paul Heyman standing at his side. Heyman interjects when Bob Artese goes to make ring introductions by ordering Bo to announce his client as ‘Paul Heyman presenters the undefeated Human Suplex Machine Taz’! Cactus Jack warms up on the opposite side of the ring and acknowledges the fans in the front row. As Cactus throws off his leather ring jacket, Taz attacks him from behind and hurls him across the ring with a back Taz Plex in the opening seconds of this match! Taz goes for the cover just seconds in, but Cactus is able to kick out.
The Human Suplex Machine tries to apply side-headlock, but Cactus connects with a back suplex before he hooks it in. Cactus hits the ropes and connects with a running clothesline that sends both he and Taz tumbling over the top rope and to the outside. Cactus tries to pull Taz up and whip him into the guard rail, only for Taz to put in the breaks with a knee to the gut. Paul Heyman is shown looking on as Taz drills Cactus with a right hand, only for Cactus to fire back with a boot to the gut!
Cactus Jack scoops up Taz and connects with a pile-driver on the concrete floor! Cactus seems to have tweaked something and he is slowly to get up, but when he does he throws Taz back into the ring. Cactus makes the cover, but Taz is shockingly able to kick out just before the two! Paul Heyman wipes his brow and lets out a sigh of relief. Heyman is pacing around ringside and arguing with the referee as both men try to get back to their feet.
Cactus Jack is right back on Taz with some strikes, but Taz shoots him away and then connects with a belly-to-belly when Cactus Jack comes swinging back! Taz makes a cover of his own, but Cactus is able to kick out. Cactus Jack is up, but Taz drills him with a big-time clothesline! Taz goes to T-Bone Taz Plex, but Cactus Jack slides to the side and drives Taz to the canvas with the Double Arm DDT! Joey Styles shouts that it’s over as Cactus Jack covers Taz and hooks the leg!
1 . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . NO!!!! NO!!!! NO!!!!
TAZ KICKED OUT OF CACUS JACK’S PATENTED DOUBLE-ARM DDT!!!!
HE KICKED OUT!!!!!!
Cactus is stunned as he perches and he goes for another Double Arm DDT when Taz gets up, but the Human Suplex Machine sees it coming, reverses and drills Cactus with the T-Bone Taz Plex! Joey Styles is sure THAT was it as Taz slowly crawls over and makes the cover on the motionless Cactus Jack. Pee Wee Moore makes the count.
1 . . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . . 3!!!!!
NO!!!! NO!!!! NO!!!!!
CACTUS JACK GOT THE SHOULDER UP JUST IN TIME!!!!
IT WAS ONLY A TWO COUNT!!!!!!
Paul Heyman is dumb-founded out on the floor as Taz rolls off Cactus and looks back at him with an expression of pure disbelief!!!! Heyman is now telling Taz to go for the Taz Mission! Joey Styles mentions that if Taz applies the submission hold – it’s all over. Nobody in Xtreme Pro Wrestling has ever escaped the Taz Mission!!!
Taz is slow to his feet, but when he lifts Cactus… HE GETS CAUGHT!!!! Cactus Jack locks in the Mandible Claw! Cactus has the Mandible Claw on Taz!!!! This hold is just as dangerous as the Taz Mission if it is fully applied. Paul Heyman is screaming that the Mandible Claw is illegal. Joey Styles shouts back that the Claw is no more illegal than Taz’s admitted choke hold!!!! Taz is flailing here and now Cactus reaches into grab the back of the head. TAZ SLIPS OUT OF THE MANDIBLE CLAW, SLIDES BEHIND… AND APPLIES…
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
TAZ MISSION!!!!! TAZ MISSION!!!!! TAZ MISSION!!!!!
A look of pure glee spreads across Paul Heyman’s face as Taz cinches his submission hold as Cactus struggles! Taz has the hold locked in now as he bridges the legs around Cactus’s torso and drops him to the canvas! Cactus is fight – he’s fighting! Cactus has the arm up and his trying to wriggle out of the Taz Mission, but there is really nowhere for him to go!
Referee Pee Wee Moore is asking Cactus if he wants to submit, but Cactus Jack keeps shouting no. Taz really cinches back on it as white foam begins to spew out of Cactus’s life! Cactus is out cold now as Taz continues to choke the very life out of him! Finally, referee Pee Wee Moore has now choice but call for the bell.
Joey Styles: It’s over! Release the damn hold Taz! That’s enough! Heyman, get him to release the damn hold. He’s going to kill the man for god’s sake!!!
Paul Heyman steps into the ring with a big smile on his face and finally he motions for Taz to let go! Taz does and now has his hand raised by his agent Paul Heyman in the center of the ring. Love him or hate him, the fact remains that Cactus Jack was choked out tonight by Taz. However, let it be known that Cactus never submitted or tapped out – he lost consciousness.
WINNER: TAZ
Joey Styles: Cactus Jack may have lost this match. He may have been chocked out. But let it be known that Cactus Jack did not submit. He vowed to never submit to the Taz Mission. He proved tonight that he would have rather been seriously hurt than tap out. Cactus might not have got his hand raised – but he damn sure earned my respect! Let’s send it up to Malia Hosaka.
‘The Beast from the East’ Bam Bam Bigelow is standing by with Malia Hosaka backstage. Bigelow tells Hosaka that tonight we have a battle of the bulls. He knows this match is going to be nothing but a fight. It won’t be pretty. It won’t be a wrestling classic. But that’s what happens when you two monsters against each other. Bigelow knows Vader is one mean, nasty S.O.B., but tonight he will find out that there is only beast in professional wrestling. Straight up – Vader is getting beat tonight!
BIG VAN VADER VS BAM BAM BIGELOW
The crowd is buzzing as Bigelow and Vader meet in the center of the ring and jaw with one another. These two monsters are ready to go here and it looks like this one is about to explode. Vader finally has enough and he shoves Bigelow. Bigelow fires back with a series of right hands and then sends Vader off the ropes and connects with a spinning wheel kick. Incredible athleticism by the 350 pound Bam Bam Bigelow!
Bam Bam Bigelow is all over Vader and is pounding away at Vader, but Vader turns him over and begins hammering. Vader is up to his feet and kicks Bam Bam Bigelow right in the face and the sends him into the corner, where he lands some vicious chops onto the chest. Vader and Bigelow trade the momentum for the next few minutes, but just when it looks like Bigelow is down and out, he always makes a comeback and keeps fighting. Vader is able to move out of the way of a Bigelow-helmed shoulder-block and then Vader begins working over the fallen Bam Bam Bigelow.
The Man They Call Vader goes for an elbow drop, and he manages to hit two of them in a row. Vader vamps for the crowd a bit and then goes for another big elbow drop, but Bigelow manages to move out of the way! Bigelow rallies back to his feet and catches Vader with a belly-to-belly suplex and almost gets the three count, but Vader manages to kick out at the last possible second. Douglas then drops his right knee down onto Ron' forehead. Douglas jaws with the fans around ringside abit and then drops yet another knee on the face of the champion. For a third time, Douglas shouts at some the fans and then leaps into the air, but this time Simmons rolls out of the way of the knee drop! Reed is now cornering a frightened Francine, who begs off as the crowd cheers for Butch to deck here. The cameraman now catches Shane waving toward the back as Butch grabs Francine by her hair. There is a commotion now as we see THIS MAN running down the steel ramp with a wooden chair in hand: .

Joey Styles points out that it’s the wrestler formerly known as Val Venis, who has been nursing an injury for the last several weeks and publicly complaining to XPW officials that he would never wrestle under what he called “a joke of a name like Val Venis” again! Styles calls him by his real name Sean Morely as he sneaks into the ring and bashes Reed across the back with the wooden chair!
