Steve defers to Bill Watts who says Championship Wrestling and its TV network has received an unprecedented amount of postcards, letters and angry phone calls about a video shown last week.
Bill Watts: “Steve Stack, the fans have spoken, and I am not ashamed to say that we here at Championship Wrestling from Houston . . . . . . . goofed. I can assure you that John Tatum is a very exciting wrestler, and in an effort to generate excitement and buzz around his debut here, he sent in a comedic tape. We aired that video segment, and we take full responsibility for the negative reaction to it. After speaking extensively with Mr. Tatum, I can assure you this was a one time video and that John Tatum is not what he portrays on that footage.
“I am proud to be a Christian man, Steve Stack and looking back that video is not in line with my belief and values, nor that of the World Wrestling Union, Championship Wrestling for Houston, or our affiliates. No one is in trouble, no one gets fired, because the buck stops with me, Bill Watts. Once again, on behalf of Championship Wrestling from Houston I would like to offer our full apologies to our viewers, fans, and television affiliates, it was a prank gone wrong, and won’t happen again.

Buddy Roberts and Baby Doll join us! Steve announces the rematch for the Southwest Heavyweight Championship will be held between Roberts and Bob Sweetan in Corpus Christi! Roberts is confident in his sunglasses and suit! He acknowledges scuttle butt about him being all talk, and not a worthy Southwestern Heavyweight Champion.
Roberts: "With the Perfect 10 baby Doll by my side, I will shut up the doubters, I will quiet that haters, I will defeat Bob Sweetan in front of a full arena in Corpus Christie October 6 and show to the entire nation that Buddy Roberts is not only a better man than Bob Sweetan, but the worthy Southwest Heavyweight Champion and let me say one more thing Bob Sweetan.
“You sir are a ZERO TRYING TO BE A ONE because you disgraced, humiliated and embarrassed the Perfect 10 here, Baby Doll, by losing your cool after I beat you fair and square in New Orleans, and placing her in a trash dumpster! Its great back and forth action and Murdoch and Sam have the heels on the back foot! But Sam gets isolated, abused by the heels, and they play keep away from Dick Murdoch building heat until Sam makes the HOT TAG and at the 8-minute mark Murdoch and Sam clean house, and the heels are on the outside of the ring, looking in!

MARK VAN HALEN, TIGER CONWAY JR, MR OLYMPIA ALL ENTER THE RING AS MURDOCH THROWS AWAY THE CHAIR AND PUTS A CHINLOCK ON NAGASAKI, WHO FINALLY LET’S GO, BUT SWINGS AT MURDOCH AND MURDOCH GOES AFTER NAGASAKI BUT THE FACES GET IN BETWEEN THEM AS VOLKOFF AND VON RASCHKE ENTER THE RING AND HOLD THE SPIDER CLAW MASTER BACK TOO AS THE ANNOUNCER SAYS THE REFEREE HAS DISQUALIFIED THEM!
FANS: MURDOCH WANTS NAGASAKI! NAGASAKI WANTS THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!! WE ARE OUT OF TIME!!! SEE YOU FROM GILLEY'S!!!!
