RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE’S BOMBTRACK opens the broadcast as the camera pans across a jam-packed Lakefront Arena in beautiful Nawlins’!5/6/96 Welcome fans, WCW Monday Nitro is on the air! Our broadcast colleague Mauro Ranallo has the latest scoops all night long! After last week's conclusion to Nitro, a huge 6-man main event was signed for tonight’s main event! Lex Luger, Diamond Dallas Page, and Ricky Steamboat would take on Curt Hennig, Scott Norton, and Marcus Bagwell! And that we would also be hearing from The Prez! JJ Dillon, Television champion Chris Jericho returns to action as well! . . . Match 1
World Television Champion Chris Jericho w/The Highlight Express defeated Norman Smiley w/Dave Taylor in a high-paced back and forth match-up with the Lionsault. After the bout Jericho and the Highlight Express joined Mauro Ranallo, and the champ says that he is finally finished with Ricky Steamboat once and for all! JJ Dillon and the WCW “monkeys” have been stacking the deck against him since he got here! Steamboat got to pick the match of his choice, and Jericho walked out still the champion. After that Dillon gives Steamboat the advantage by forcing Jericho to go 2/3 Falls at the PPV, the “oldest of old-school matches” and that Lionheart was victorious once again. Lane and Cage give Jericho a pat on the back as Mauro says that the rumblings are that JJ Dillon is looking to talk to you Mr. Jericho in regards to that 2/3 falls title defense at Spring Stampede! “He wha?? For why? You tell me right now, Ranallo!” The champ doesn’t give Mauro a chance to speak up as he and his boys hit the bricks. . . . Commercial Break . . . Match 2 El Diablo and Gran Akuma w/La Diabolica defeated The Silver Bullets after Akuma turned out Chrome’s lights with the Shoryuken Uppercut.. . . Mauro Ranallo is joined by The Gamesmaster Kevin Sullivan and the Dungeon of Doom who have not had the best past couple of weeks. Sullivan doesn’t know who the hell Clarence Mason and Scorpio thinks they are, but nobody will get their hands on Lance Storm before Hugh Morrus does! And nothing can change the fact that the Faces of Fear are the most destructive team in all of WCW, and that they are going to prove that right now! Match 3 The Faces of Fear w/Kevin Sullivan and Hugh Morrus defeated Joey Matthews and Chuckie Haas is brutally quick fashion after a Kick of Fear from Barbarian was followed up by The Tongan Death Grip from Meng. . . Commercial Break . . . Mauro Ranallo is joined by Ricky Steamboat, Diamond Dallas Page w/Kimberly, and Lex Luger w/Miss Elizabeth to discuss the big six-man main event tonight. Luger extends thanks to both Ricky and Dallas for coming to his aid last week. Page quickly intervenes and says that it was not for Luger’s benefit at all, that he wanted to get his hands on Norton. He has respect for Luger and has always been a big admirer Steamboat, but DDP doesn’t play too well with others. Steamboat says he can respect that, and that he thinks a lot of Page, and that he also thinks a lot of Lex Luger that they’ve had some hellacious matches, and Luger has earned his respect. What he can’t respect is the actions of Marcus Bagwell, Curt Hennig, or Scott Norton. Not only that, but he saw Jericho out here earlier, and was hoping he would stick around for JJ’s interview later tonight, because while Steamboat can’t put his finger on it, something was very fishy in the final fall of his title match with Jericho at Spring Stampede. Luger says he has unfinished business with all three of their opponents tonight, but it will be extra sweet to get his hands on Bagwell tonight! . . . Match 4 Rosey w/Samu and Iaukea defeated Lenny Lane w/Christian Cage after a belly to back suplex off the top rope. It was obvious that Lane and Cage were off their game, seemingly flustered by the absence of Jericho.. . . Mauro was joined by Unified Tag Team Champions of the World Harlem Heat w/Sister Sherri, who are confident as ever following their big victory at Spring Stampede. They say there isn’t a team in the world who can hang with Harlem Heat. They heard the Nasty Boys think they want another shot since they didn’t get pinned at the PPV, and that’s just fine. They heard that Southern Justice is looking for a title shot. We got Steiners, Samoans, Express’, Renegades, hell we got em all here in WCW, but they all play second fiddle to the best tag team in the world today, Harlem Heat! “Now can you dig that? Sucka”. . . Commercial Break . . . Match 5 Scorpio w/Clarence Mason defeated David Taylor w/Norman Smiley in a ferocious match-up that saw both men go for it. Taylor’s smash-mouth, grappling based offense was an excellent foil for Scorpio’s high-risk attack, the 450 Splash proved to be the difference.. . . Commercial Break . . . Match 6 The Steiner Brothers and Southern Justice w/Col. Parker fought to a double count-out in a wild tag team match up.. . . Mauro was joined by the President of WCW, Mr. JJ Dillon who says that he regrets Chris Jericho leaving the building earlier this evening, that after reviewing the tape of his match with Ricky Steamboat at Spring Stampede, JJ agrees with Ricky, something was definitely fishy in the third fall, and that JJ has known Ricky Steamboat for almost 20 years, and while they have rarely seen eye-to-eye, one thing Ricky Steamboat is not, is a liar.JJ goes on to say that he and the competition committee could not be more impressed by GenX champion Lance Storm, or more pleased with how the tournament went down. He would like to thank Aryan Von Raschke, Tajiri, Black Magic, and El Samurai for participating in the event, and that WCW is committed to bring the best athletes from across the globe into the GenX Division. JJ says regarding Clarence Mason and Scorpio’s insinuations last week, “WCW is not out to hold anyone down. Mr. Scorpio was brought back to WCW because he is an excellent athlete who deserves the opportunities provided by WCW.” As far as dates, signings, and conspiracies go, the ground work for the GenX tournament had been laid well before Mr. Scorpio’s deal was finalized regardless of announcement dates. And that if Mr. Scorpio wants a title shot, he needs to continue winning matches. Scorpio and Clarence Mason join the fray, and Scorpio says it’s real convenient to come out here and say the tournament was set-up before Scorpio signed, but it’s still a travesty not to make room for Scorpio. Mason says that his client has more than proved himself worthy of a title shot throughout his career. JJ says that no doubt Scorpio has had a fine career, and he believes he has a solution to this dilemma. Kevin Sullivan has been pestering about a rematch for Hugh Morrus, so how about next week Scorpio takes on Hugh to determine who gets the first shot at Lance Storm? Mason clearly doesn’t like the decision and attempts to protest, but is cut-off by Scorpio, “don’t worry bout nothin’ C. Mase, I got dis. It’s all good JJ, you go tell Morrus that shit won’t be so funny next week.”. . . Main Event Lex Luger, Diamond Dallas Page, and Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat defeated World Heavyweight Champion Curt Hennig, United States Champion Scott Norton, and Marcus Bagwell by DQ when Hennig was caught using a foreign object to beat down Luger. This was a vicious encounter that saw excellent wrestling from Steamboat and Hennig, Lex get a measure of revenge on Bagwell, and DDP and Norton beat the high, holy hell out of each other.

Tonight we have a huge #1 Contender’s match-up between Scorpio and Hugh Morrus to decide who gets the first shot at Lance Storm’s Gen X title, JJ Dillon will once again attempt to corral World Television Champion Chris Jericho, all that and much much more, right now fans lets go to the ring! Match 1 The Queen’s Favorite Tag Team, Norman Smiley and Dave Taylor defeated Mr. D’Amore and the Canadian Destroyer after Taylor forced D’Amore to submit in the Regal Stretch STF. . . Commercial Break . . . Match 2 Rick Martel defeated El Diablo w/La Diabolica and Gran Akuma with the Boston Crab Maura Ranallo is joined by Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat who says that tonight in his match against Lenny Lane he will attempt to get to the bottom of Jericho’s game. Steamboat continues to say that something fishy was going on in the third fall of his title rematch against Jericho at Spring Stampede, and Jericho’s actions of later compound his assertions. Chris Jericho has done everything in his power to get one over on ol Ricky Steamboat, but the time for fun and games is coming to an end! Match 3 Ricky Steamboat defeated Lenny Lane w/Christian Cage in dynamic contest after hitting his patent high-cross body off the top-rope. After the contest The Highlight Express gained a measure of revenge by jumping the Dragon 2 on 1, but were run-off by Chris Youngblood and Kendall Windham. . . Commercial Break . . . Match 4 Marcus Bagwell w/World Champion Curt Hennig defeated Chuck Haas by pinfall after nailing him with the blockbuster top rope flipping neckbreaker. WCW President, JJ Dillon says that once again Chris Jericho is refusing to return his messages, and failed to show up at Nitro this week. JJ says that he has been plenty patient with his Television Champion, but that if Chris Jericho refuses to speak to Dillon by next Monday Nitro, he will have no choice to “hold-up the World Television Title!” Next week Ricky Steamboat will be taking on the other member of the Highlight Express, Christian Cage, and that while there is “no video evidence,” JJ believes that “Mr. Cage holds the key” to figuring out exactly what happened at Spring Stampede! Match 5 Hugh Morrus w/Kevin Sullivan and Scorpio w/Clarence Mason battled to a wild, double-disqualification. These two men matched up very well with one another, and when there was wrestling going on, it was quite entertaining. The problem for referee Mark Curtis was that both men, as well as their managers, were concentrating on getting an illegal upper-hand, and ended up taking poor Mr. Curtis out after he was unable to break a double choke-hold.. . . Commercial Break . . . Mauro Ranallo is joined by Diamond Dallas Page and the beautiful Kimberly who says that last week it felt real good to get his hands on Scott Norton, but things won’t be settled until Page is completely satisfied. That is why he went to JJ Dillon, and while he couldn’t get a title match, he did get the next best thing, a STREET-FIGHT ON NITRO!! And DDP promises that Flash Norton will. Feel. The. BAAAAANG!Main Event Unified World Tag Team Champions Harlem Heat w/Sister Sherri battled Southern Justice w/Col. Parker to a no-contest in their non-title match-up as the Steiner Brothers and the Nasty Boys got themselves involved in the match, much to the chagrin of the Colonel.

RAGE AGAINT THE MACHINE’S BOMBTRACK opens the broadcast as the camera pans across the rocking and rolling Frank Erwin Center on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin!5/20/96 Hello wrestling fans, Monday Nitro is on the air! We have a huge show in store for you tonight. The President of WCW, Mr. JJ Dillon has a big announcement regarding the #1 Contender to Lance Storm’s GenX title, and has promised to strip Chris Jericho of the World Television Title if he does not come down for his interview later in the evening. The Dragon gets his hands on Christian, the man that Steamboat says is the key to figuring out Jericho’s game. Just announced earlier today, Mauro Ranallo had this on the hotline all day today, Lex Luger and Marcus Bagwell go one on one, right here tonight! Plus as we heard last week tonight’s main event should be a barn burner as Diamond Dallas Page takes on Scott “Flash” Norton in a non-title, come dressed as you are, Red River Street Fight! If you think OU and UT battle hard, wait until you see this one, and away we go!Match 1 Beautiful Bobby w/Col. Parker gave the Col. a look early on, and the camera caught Parker replying, “I’ll do my best” and Eaton went balls to the walls with Japanese sensation El Samurai, Dusty couldn’t “belieb it,” even Tony and Terry assumed that the experienced veteran would take him down and out wrestle the man, but Beautiful Bobby had a point to prove. When Samurai would begin his impressive offense, Eaton would grab an arm, wrestle him to the ground, beat on the arm, and then turn it into high gear again. The Alabama Jam was the nail in Samurai’s cover after a great effort.. . . Commercial Break . . . The Unified Tag Team Champions of the……. “ENTIUH WORLD! The headbusta on the block, my big broth-ah, Stevie Ray” says Booker as he steals Ranallo’s mic and after his choice intro, handed the mic to big brother Stevie Ray, “I would say yous too kind, but ere body here knows how I do, but you totally left out that you the sickest in the game bro.” Sherri loves the confidence of her team, but when you are the best tag team in the entire world, and you agree to have a non-title match on free television, you expect certain things, you know maybe like WCW keeping it 2 on 2, no Steiners or Nasty Boys. Mauro finally has a mic in his hand, clearly has a few questions for Sherri, but is beaten to the punch by “Ya know something, Book, Stevie, there a lot of things my boys back here want to discuss with you inside that squared circle.” With that being said, the good Colonel goes on to say that he “is a man of his word, his word is his bond, and he would like to have at least one discussion before the 4 of you go at it.” Maybe even in the private kind he insinuates as Mauro tries to get close in with his microphone. Finally though, no sneaking was needed, as Sister Sherri grabbed Mauro Ranallo by the lapel, got all up in Col. Parker’s face and said, “Our boys are going to fight, that is going to happen, if you believe you still have business worth discussing with that in mind, then you need to talk to me. You got that?”The Col. with quite a look on his face, tipped his hat, shook Sister Sherri’s hand and quickly apologized for the misunderstanding. Mauro would like to add that he will WAY more information on what just went down as Col. Rob Parker and the Studd Stable will be my guest, call in, give us a listen, share your thoughts, the All New NITRO LINE 1-900-909-9900, call during every break, as the biggest and brightest stars of World Championship Wrestling will be talking to me all throughout the show…. Match 2 El Diablo and Gran Akuma w/La Diabolica defeated David “Backbreaker” Young and Robbie Eagle after Akuma nailed Eagle with the shoryuken uppercut as Eagle was flying at him off of the top rope, and in ASTOUNDING finish, the referee could have counted to 33. Diablo and Akuma showed some decent teamwork, including rolling monkey flips with force into the turnbuckles, as well as some more of Akuma’s unique yet dangerous striking abilities. Backbreaker Young almost had this match won early. Self-proclaimed “Messiah of the Backbreaker” delivered 3 variations of the move in quick succession, caught Diablo by surprise, if not for Akuma saving the match there with the roaring power drive elbow to the back of Young’s head it would have been over. . . . Commercial Break . . . Match 3 Rick Martel defeated The Albertan Assassin w/Mr. D’Amore after a back and forth contest. Martel was going for his famous Boston crab, but the powerful man from Alberta faught hard enough to force Martel into using the single-leg Boston crab, unlucky for him Martel is just as educated in that department as well. Mauro Ranallo is standing by Chris Jericho and one-half of the Highlight Express Christian Cage just moments before Christian goes out there, one on one with Ricky Steamboat, and is wondering how Jericho feels. “……” “My man is quite Cagey, I will be at ringside with him, he has been studying matches with me, and as we all saw back at Spring Stampede when I smashed Ricky Steamboat’s title dreams, permenately” apparently that would be good, but “Mr. Jericho do you feel the same way in regards to having a face to face meeting with JJ?” Jericho says that Dillon said it himself last week, “no visual evidence” which means that nothing “fishy” or any other “stupid politically correct word that puppet Ricky Steamboat was told to spit out!” I have passed you by Ricky Steamboat, sure, I loved you a decade ago, and you were great. But this ain’t 1986, I ain’t Don Muraco, I ain’t Jake Roberts, and I’ll refrain from the last name, but I ain’t crushing your larynx or protecting my girls from your pet ape George Steele, ok! I AM CHRIS JERICHO! THIS IS MONDAY NIGHT JERICHO! And here in Austin, TX, when CHRIS JERICHO leaves the building, me and the Highlights will be on Sixth Street. Let’s do this Christian, you got this!”Match 4 Ricky Steamboat was able to defeat young Christian Cage in a long match up that really raised the eyebrows of all who watch the match. Jericho had little interference in the match for whatever reason and these two just went at it, and went hard. The top-rope cross body block once again takes Ricky to “duh pay winduh”After the match Steamboat walks to both Christian and Jericho, shakes Christian’s hand, and says he hopes that kid gets his head together because he’s got the goods. Jericho was none too pleased with this, grabbed his buddy by the arm and the two were met by you guessed it, President JJ DILLON! JJ says that while he can’t prove anything, he airs a video of Spring Stampede that see’s Jericho slide out of the ring, and ever too quickly appear on the other side, allowing him to sneak up behind Steamboat and score the deciding fall! Jericho says, “See! Ya see! HA! That was me, I pinned Steamboat, end of story! I can bear crawl really fast, and made it under the ring in no time flat is all!” Dillon says, “Clearly that was you Mr. Jericho scoring that pinfall.” Now JJ rolls a piece of tape from earlier in the contest. That clearly establishes “Mr. Jericho going under the ring.” What Ricky Steamboat and JJ Dillon are saying, without proof, is that Chris Jericho did not come out from under the ring at this point, that it was the same man who rolled under the ring in the first video. “It is awful suspicious that the man who came out from under the ring in the first portion of video, who is the same man who went back under the ring in the second clip, is never clearly seen, and it is my feeling, Mr. Jericho, that shenanigans are afoot!”Jericho begs and pleads, but JJ is hearing none of it. From the ring Ricky Steamboat has a mic, and says that after grappling with Christian, feeling his movements, seeing his eyes, “looking into his soul,” that it was definitely “CHRISTIAN IN THE RING” for a portion of the 3rd fall, Jericho vehemently denies, JJ and Jericho look around, Christian has scampered off! . . . Commercial Break . . . Match 5 The Nasty Boys defeated Rage and Kaos, High Voltage by disqualification when, SOUTHERN JUSTICE, hit the ring and delivered a beatdown on Sags and Knobbs, an eerie message was delivered by Col. Parker into the camera as he and his boys exited the scene of the crime, “Business concluded Harlem Heat, now we want those belts!”Vice President of WCW, Magnum T.A. has joined Mauro, he says that JJ has Jericho, “by the ear” and they are “searching for Mr. Cage” as we speak. This is why Maggie is out here to announce that following Scorpio and Morrus’ match-up last week, none of WCW’s regulated officials want to referee the rematch that inevitably must occur. That is why next week on Nitro, Scorpio will once again meet Hugh Morrus with a shot at the Gen X championship at Clash of Champions: Beach Blast on June, 6th at stake, but this time the referee will be none other than: THE GEN X CHAMPION LANCE STORM!Match 6 vs
Lex Luger without the lovely Miss Elizabeth in his corner tonight exacted some revenge on his former protégé, Marcus Bagwell when he was able to reverse the Blockbuster top-rope flipping neck breaker into a power-slam to get the pinfall. After the contest though Bagwell took the fight to Luger while his back was turned and delivered not 1, not 2, but THREE BLOCKBUSTERS!. . . Commercial Break . . . Mauro Ranallo is joined once again by President JJ Dillon who says that while Christian Cage “is a slippery little rascal” it has not gotten Chris Jericho off the hook, and that per their refusal to come clean about the proceedings at Spring Stampede, “I have no other alternative but to make Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Steamboat IV for the World Television Championship at the Clash of the Champions: Beach Blast!”Main Event Non-Title vs United States Champion Scott “Flash” Norton defeated Diamond Dallas Page in a Streetfight after his buddies Marcus Bagwell and World Champion Curt Hennig joined the fight, breaking up the obvious pinfall after DDP PLANTED Norton with a Diamond Cutter on the concrete floor! The trio triple power-bombed Dallas Page in the center of the ring for the 1, 2, 3.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE’S BOMBTRACK opens the broadcast as the camera pans across the sold-out Convention Center on this hot Ft. Worth, Texas summer night!5/27/96 Welcome wrestling fans, WCW Nitro is on the air, and things are really heating up. We are just over a week away from Clash of the Champions: Beach Blast from Mobile, AL airing Live on TBS: The Superstation. In tonight’s main event we find out who challenges for the Generation Next title as the champion, Lance Storm referee’s the contest between his arch nemesis Hugh Morrus and the man simply known as Scorpio, and what an intriguing encounter that one promises to be. Last week JJ Dillon announced that Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Steamboat IV for the World Television Title will happen at the Clash will be here tonight, and announce the main event for the Clash of Champions, and fans call in right now to the all new Nitro Line, 1-900-909-9900, and WCW Insider and Broadcast Journalist has big news regarding all things Nitro and Beach Blast. The TV title participants will both be in action tonight as Ricky Steamboat meets Marcus Bagwell and Chris Jericho is set to take on a former champion, Beautiful Bobby, the first match is ready to go, David Penzer take it away!
Match 1 High Voltage took on their friends Robbie Eagle and Joe Gomez and after all 4 men shook hands a competitive little tag team match up opened up Nitro. Rage and Kaos picked up a much needed victory after catching with Shock Treatment, their version of the Doomsday Device.. . . Commercial Break . . . Match 2 Rick Martel defeated The Extraordinary Mercenary Luc Poirier by submission after locking in his dreaded Boston Crab on his much larger opponent. Martel went back to basics in this match-up out-wrestling his younger, stronger competition; Martel attempted to shake the youngsters hand after the contest but was brushed off.Mauro Ranallo was joined by The Colonel Robert E. Lee Parker and his team of Southern Justice, and Parker says that certainly is a, “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” world out there, and the attack on the Nasty Boys last week was “strictly business.” Not only that; but the Colonel fully expects Sister Sherri and Harlem Heat to “live up to their end of the bargain.” As Parker refers to Sister Sherri as “the Little Lady,” Mauro notes that he is quite sure, “Miss Martel wouldn’t like that reference one bit,” and before the Col. could respond . . . . . . . . . THE NASTY BOYS HAVE JUMPED BUBBA AND ANTHONY!All hell is breaking lose, and Mauro Ranallo has voided the premises as the four behemoths duke it out in the announce area. Head of Security Doug Dillinger and a group of wrestlers try to break things up, but they are unable to put a stop to the melee, finally Ft. Worth’s finest Riot Squad comes out in full riot gear to break up the fight that has destroyed Mauro’s set and an entire section of the guard rail at that end of the arena! . . . Commercial Break . . . Mauro has returned to his destroyed interview area and is joined by Iaukea, Rosey, and Rosey’s godfather, former Samoan Swat Team member Samu. Samu says that he has watched the cousin’s Iaukea and Rosey form a strong bond that reminds him of when he and Fatu were just getting started in the business, and that with him in their corner, guiding them, watching out for them, and helping them hone “the edge” they have “unlimited potential.” And as Rosey’s godfather he promised Rosey’s parents that he would look out for him, do what’s best for him, and that is why he has come to WCW, and that he fully expects big things from Dem Aloha Boys. Match 3 Dem Aloha Boys w/Samu picked up the biggest win of their young careers in what Tony, Dusty, and Terry all agreed to be a huge upset over The Western Renegades, Chris Youngblood and Kendall Windham. In a clean yet fiery contest Rosey and Iaukea’s precision and diverse attacked proved to be the difference as Iaukea planted Youngblood with a dropkick from the top rope, tagged in his nearly 300 lbs. partner who devastated the Renegade Warrior with a Superfly Splash for the win!. . . . . President of WCW JJ Dillon had a lot on his mind tonight, first and foremost he says that brawls such as the one that took place between the Nasty Boys and Southern Justice that not only destroy sets, endanger announcers, and fans will not be tolerated, and that each team will be fined $2,500 dollars. Also the competition committee is drawing up the papers “as we speak” to make that tag match happen at the Clash of Champions. Speaking of which, he would like to announce that once again a Clash of Champions main event would be taking place inside a steel cage, which gets a big reaction from the live audience, as “The Total Package” Lex Luger will meet Marcus Alexander Bagwell, one-on-one, this time, Curt Hennig and Scott Norton would not be able to help their buddy, and Lex Luger will finally get a fair match! Marcus Bagwell w/Heavyweight Champion of the World Curt Hennig are making their way out to ringside for action and have some nasty glares for JJ Dillon who is over-heard saying that they brought this upon themselves, which sets Bagwell off, he is having a conniption, but Hennig is able to cool him off and get him into the ring for his big match with Ricky Steamboat! Match 4 Ricky Steamboat vs. Marcus Bagwell w/Curt Hennig is scheduled to get under way, but Steamboat mysteriously doesn’t come out as his music plays. Dave Penzer and referee Nick Patrick talk about things as Dusty, Tony, and Terry speculate. The Dragon’s music plays again, but no Dragon. Tony sends us to break as they have Mauro Ranallo on the hunt for Steamer.
. . . Commercial Break . . . Match 4 Marcus Bagwell w/Curt Hennig defeated Silver Bullet Titanium in quick fashion with the blockbuster flipping top-rope neckbreaker. As Bagwell poses over his fallen masked challenger, he grabs the microphone and says that Ricky Steamboat must’ve finally grown a brain and left “this crappy town” after realizing he was in for the wrestling lesson of his life, and didn’t want to be embarrassed. Bagwell says that “Steamboat knows his stuff is weak” and tucked his tail firmly between his cheeks and headed for higher ground. Just then Tony sends it to the back as Mauro Ranallo has found Ricky Steamboat! Ranallo, Christian Cage, and Lenny Lane are all standing around an unconscious Dragon as the EMT’s arrive on scene. Mauro is accusatory towards the Highlight Express who steadfastly claim that they found Steamboat “cold as a cucumber” and that they “are like totally innocent.” As JJ Dillon and Magnum T.A. arrive, Cage and Lane decide to exit, stage right, and fast. As Chris Jericho’s music plays in the arena, Ranallo hurries to catch up to him, and finally does as Jericho is reaching ringside for his match up. As Mauro catches his breath he asks Jericho if he or the Highlight’s had anything to do with the attack on Steamboat, and Jericho says he has “no idea” what Ranallo is rambling on about in his “repulsive Canadian accent.” As Mauro informs Jericho that Steamboat was apparently attacked, Jericho says he can’t help but wonder what this does to their title match at Beach Blast, “hahahahahaha”. . . Commercial Break . . . Match 5
vs
World TV Champion Chris Jericho and former champion Beautiful Bobby w/Col. Rob Parker battled tooth and nail in one of the very best Nitro matches of the year. Eaton was able to score multiple near-falls on the “Long-Island Loud Mouth,” nearly finishing the braggadocios champion. But Jericho was able to withstand the onslaught from the quite-man from Huntsville, and in an incredible show of athleticism, Jericho hopped to his feet as Eaton flew from the top rope attempting the Alabama Jam, caught both his legs and cranked back with the Liontamer high-angled Boston Crab. The Col. pushed the bottom rope in, allowing Eaton to get the much needed break, but Jericho followed it up with the Lionsault, in ring moonsaults from the middle rope to pick a hard-fought battle. Mauro Ranallo has a special update on the condition of Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat, saying that he had just spoken to WCW Vice President Magnum T.A. who went to the hospital with Steamboat, and Maggie said that while the Dragon was conscious he was in a great deal of pain, and that E.R. doctor’s were pretty tight-lipped at the moment. Ranallo says that he will be on top of the information all night, and will have updates on the Nitro Line if not before we went off the air. Just then Mauro was joined by Lex Luger w/The Lovely Miss Elizabeth by his side once again this week. Luger says that he really hopes that Steamboat is ok, and that as soon as he is done with this pre-scheduled interview he was “heading directly to the Emergency Room to check on……” right in the middle of his sentence, Elizabeth sighs and walks off from Lex???!? Luger looks after Elizabeth, and is obviously shaken, says that things haven’t been right ever since this whole “Curt Hennig mess started,” and things have really taken their toll on Liz, but he promises after he gets his hands on Bagwell inside that steel-cage at the Clash, “the Total Package would once again be back to his old self” as scores will be settled and he will be back on track to becoming World Heavyweight Champion, “Hey Liz! Wait up…………”. . . Commercial Break . . . Match 6 The Highlight Express w/TV Champion Chris Jericho were riding high, and each sporting ear to ear grins as they dominated “The Messiah of the Backbreaker” David Young and Charlie Haas. Young was able to land one of his many backbreaker variations, but that was the only amount of offense that Bad Attitude was able to muster as Christian finished Young off with the Frog Splash.Mauro Ranallo breaks in with one last update before the main event, as it appears, “sadly” that Ricky Steamboat suffered a severe concussion; was nauseous, vomiting, and being sent for MRI’s according to Magnum T.A. Mauro mentions that Magnum specifically said while competing had not been ruled out as of yet, and they were keeping their fingers crossed, but “it’s a long-shot, at best” that we will see Ricky Steamboat competing at the Clash of Champions. Main Event
Special Guest Referee: GenX Division Champ Lance Storm
Hugh Morrus w/Kevin Sullivan and Scorpio w/Clarence Mason once again pulled no punches and pulled out all the stops, greatly frustrating Lance Storm by continuously refusing to adhere to his instructions. Morrus used his size to overpower Scorpio and lean on him early in the contest. But the veteran from Denver, Colorado used the tricks he has picked up during his career to get himself out of precarious positions, specifically going after the eyes anytime he was in trouble. Scorpio used his speed, his arsenal of kicks, and natural athleticism to his advantage, but much like he resorted to eye-gouging, Morrus’ chosen tactic for this evening was grabbing a handful of tights for additional leverage and slinging Scorpio away. The two grappling greats found themselves once again in a double-choke, the same move that got their match thrown out last week, but Storm interjected himself into the equation and physically broke the two men up, which pissed off not only Morrus and Scorpio, but Mason and Sullivan as well. After much bickering, Storm had his fill and nailed Kevin Sullivan! Lance dodged Morrus’ attack who then took down Clarence Mason by mistake, leading Scorpio to jump Storm, and that is when all hell officially broke loose! No decision for the match was ever rendered, but a sure-fire, entertaining fist fight broke out that had Duthtay on the edge of his seat, talking about how much the fight reminded him “of this one night in El Paso a priest, a rabbi, a mule, a midget, and Dick Murdoch…. Well I won’t go into details, but me and Dickie don’t go to El Paso no mo’” Terry and Tony were left speechless, and Ft. Worth’s Riot Squad made their second appearance of the night, reminding Dusty of “the poor mule’s final hours.” Tony finally saved Dusty and signed off…
