On Memorial Day 1984, we will be holding a tournament at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago, Illinois to crown the World Heavyweight Champion. 8 men will compete and all 8 men have been recognized at one point or another as the World Heavyweight Champion. We are talking about men like Pedro Morales, the Iron Sheik, Bob Backlund, The Funk Brothers, Nick Bockwinkel, the man who defeated me to become a World Champion Bruno Sammartino and the “American Dream” himself, Dusty Rhodes. Plus for next several weeks you will be able to witness the quarter finals of the World Tag Team Championship Tournament here on Wednesday Night Warriors. Then on Memorial Day we will hold the semi finals and the finals at the Rosemont Horizon. This historical card will be available nationwide via closed circuit, I hope fans everywhere will join us. My brother and I have spent our entire lives in the wrestling ring and we know what a World Wrestling Champion looks like and it doesn’t look like that, FAT, BLEACHED BLONDE, FLUKE!!!! And on Memorial Day, in the Rosemont Horizon my brother is gonna face that OBNOXIOUS, OVERBEARING, EGG SUCKING DOG in the first round. Gorilla Monsoon: Two double tough gentlemen making their way to the ring, but next week they will be facing two men in the Tag Team tournament who are just as tough, AND ARE SITTING IN THE FRONT ROW!!! Because next week, they are going to battle “The Natural” Butch Reed and Jesse “The Body” Ventura in the World Tag Title Tournament!!!
The bell rings and Manny Fernandez is in the ring with Charlie Fulton and the two are feeling each other out and Vince says next week’s match is gonna be one heck of a fight!!! Fulton and Lee are able to get Manny Fernandez trapped in the ring for a short time, and hold their own but when Lee tries to get into a chopping match with Wahoo it’s all she wrote. Fernandez puts Lee away when he catches him with a Flying Burrito flush to the mush before covering him for the three count and the victory!!!!!

Vince: The Ragin Bull and the Chief with the big win here on Wednesday Night Warriors, but wait a minute Gorilla, look at what’s happening down at ringside!!!
Gorilla: I see it Vince, Fernandez and Wahoo may be scheduled to face the The Body and Reed next week but they might be in a street fight RIGHT NOW!!!!!!
Down at ringside Wahoo and The Bull have gone to where Ventura and Reed are seated, Ventura is waving them off and Reed can be heard yelling that they are blocking the view!!!! Ventura says that someone needs to get them out of there, he and Reed can beat them up later right now they want to finish their popcorn. Officials rush out to get Wahoo and The Bull to the back as Gorilla throws us to a commercial break!

Now we find ourselves here on Wednesday Night Warriors, bay bay and it might just be time to end this long war if you know what I mean. You say you got a surprise for the Dweam??? Well the Dweam will be here next week jack, riding into the arena on the end of a LIGHTNING BOLT!!!!! The real question is Funks, ARE YOU GONNA BE READY FOR THE BULL A DA WOODS?

Vince and Gorilla put over both men, Garea for his numerous World Tag Title reigns and Bockwinkel for being one of the best wrestlers on the planet and talk about how he will face Pedro Morales in the World Title Tournament in Chicago at the Rosemont Horizon on Memorial Day. Garea and Bock trade nearfalls, with Garea coming close to pulling off the upset but Bock gets his knees up when Garea tries for a splash!!! Bock then locks Garea in a Boston Crab and while Garea does his best to fight it being trapped in an abdominal stretch earlier in the match and then crashing into Bock’s knees did more than enough damage to weaken Garea and force him to submit!!!

Ventura:You know what Tony Schiavone I RESENT THAT my man!!!! "The Natural" and I just wanted to come out and watch the show, and we spent our own money on buying these front row tickets so we could come out and have a good night and all these wrestlers who are jealous of the way the Natural and The Body look have to try and get in our business and ruin our good time!!!
Reed: YOU BETTER LISTEN TO THE BODY TONY SCHIAVONE!!!!! AND NEXT WEEK, MANNY "NOTHIN HAPPEN" FERNANDEZ AND HIS PARTNER CHIEF DUMDUM MCDANIELS ARE GONNA PAY FOR TRYING TO RUIN OUR GOOD TIME!!

VIDEOTAPE REPLAY: Andre and Blackwell are on the floor brawling!!!! In the ring, the Sheik is pulling Backlund up by the hair and taunting him!!! The Sheik slaps Backlund in the face!!! He does it a second time!!! UH-OH!!! THAT WOKE BACKLUND UP!!!!! Backlund blocks a third slap and decks The Sheik!!!!! Backlund locks Sheik Adnan in a Crossface Chicken Wing!!!! Adnan has no choice but to give it up!!! Blackwell was still brawling with Andre in the aisle and didn’t see what was happening until the bell rang!!!!!

For years I have let Adnan guide my career I have worn this stupid turbin (Blackwell holds up a turbin and rips it in half!!! Then throws the pieces down!) I have done whatever he asked me to do, and it makes me sick to my stomach to think about the man I was, the man I let him turn me into!!!! Well, NO MORE!!!!!!! Adnan take a good look at me, take a good look at THE MOUNTAIN FROM STONE MOUNTAIN!!!!! This country boy is done playing your games Adnan, HE IS DONE BEING YOUR LACKEY!!!!!! My plans, Tony??? MY PLAN IS TO GET MY HANDS ON ADNAN AND SQUASH HIM LIKE THE BLOOD SUCKING BUG HE IS!!!!!! So what I did Tony Schiavone, what I did was I went to Buddy Rogers and I told him I am a former World Tag Team Champion so I want a place in the World Tag Team Title Tournament and I want the Pacific Powers in the first round, so Buddy Rogers told me to go find a partner and I COULD HAVE THE SLOT!!!!! So Muraco, Haku, Adnan, just you wait because in only a couple weeks me and my partner are gonna rip you apart!!!!!!Tony: I would not want to be Sheik Adnan El-Kassie that much is for sure, speaking of Adnan he is heading to the ring now with his newest charge, The Iron Sheik for our next match!!!!!
In the ring the bell has rung as the George Wells is ready to battle the Iron Sheik
W/Wells starts off fast against the former World Champion!!! Wells is unloading!!! Wells looks good until he misses a dropkick and Sheik makes him pay for it. Sheik is punishing Wells when Vince says that we have some prerecorded comments from the man who will face the Iron Sheik on Memorial Day at the Rosemont Horizon in the World Title Tournament, Bob Backlund!!!!
Bob Backlund: Iron Sheik, you know and I know that I owe you for what you did to me last year. All the fans know that you robbed me of something that meant a lot to me and this is going to be my first chance at getting some payback, and I promise you on Memorial Day at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago I will get my revenge!!!!
The box fades away and we go back to a full screen of action as the Iron Sheik hits a gutwrench suplex on George Wells. Sheik stomps on the small of Wells back several times before kicking him in the side of the head!!!! Sheik then locks on the Camel Clutch!!! Wells is out cold and can’t even respond as referee Gary DeRusha calls for the bell and awards the match to The Iron Sheik!!!!!!!

The Iron Sheik and Sheik Adnan El Kassie get in the ring and wave their respective flags. At ringside Ventura and Reed stand and applaud them. Vince calls it a disgusting display, Gorilla then sends us to the locker room and Tony Schiavone!!!
Tony: Thank you Gorilla, I’m standing back here with “Chief” Wahoo McDaniels and “The Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez and they are fired up from their confrontation with the two men they will meet next week Jesse Ventura and Butch Reed!!! Wahoo, it seemed like things might start a week early for a second there!!!
Wahoo: YOU ARE DAMN RIGHT TONY!!!! VENTURA!!! REED!!!! You two have real big mouths, but you are looking at the two men with fists big enough to shut ‘em!!!
Manny: That’s right!!! The Bull and The Chief are Raging daddy!!!!! Ventura, Reed, watching you two stand up and applaud two men like the Iron Shiek and Adnana MAKES US SICK TO OUR STOMACH!!! THIS IS THE U.S.A, JACK!!!! NEXT WEEK, YOU TWO ARE GONNA GET THE HORNS!!!!!!

INTRODUCING FIRST FROM OMAHA, NEBRASKA, TED DIBIASE!!!!!!!!!!! AND HIS PARTNER, FROM HONOLULU, HAWAII……..RICKY STEAMBOAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Things are pretty even to start as the four men tag in and out and show off their technical expertise. 5 minutes in and the action quickly picks up when Steamboat hits a series of arm drags on Dick Slater, leading to Orton running in and getting tossed by Steamboat’s deep arm drags as well!!!! Steamboat then dropkicks Slater down and flattens Orton with a huge chop!! Dibiase quickly jumps into the ring as well!!!! All four men are brawling!!! Earl Hebner is trying to break it up!!!! Dibiase clotheslines Orton over the top rope!!!
Hebner is forcing Dibiase out of the ring, Orton has grabbed a steel chair and WHACKS Steamboat in the back as Steamboat hits the ropes!!!!!

Slater tags out to Orton and they beat Steamboat down into the corner!!!!!! Orton then suplexes Steamboat and makes the cover but only gets a two count!!!! Orton hooks Steamboat into a rear chinlock as Vince tells us we have to take a commercial break!!!

STEAMBOAT KICKS OUT!!!
Orton and Slater tag in and out, keeping the pressure on Steamboat and hitting several double team moves, every time Steamboat hits the canvas he arches his back and the pain is evident on his face!!! Dibiase is banging the top turnbuckle begging Steamboat to make the tag!!! Orton and Slater keep cutting Steamboat off before he can do it!!!!
Slater grabs Steamboat and locks him in a abdominal stretch!!! The referee doesn’t see Orton reaching in to grab Slater’s hand to give him more leverage!!!! Dibiase jumps in the ring and Hebner has to push him out, allowing Orton and Slater to continue cheating. Hebner gets back in and asks Steamboat if he gives up, Steamboat is refusing!!! Orton reaches back in and grabs Slater’s hand again but this time Hebner sees it!!!! Hebner kicks their arms apart!!! Steamboat hip tosses Slater!!!!!
Dibiase is rapid on the apron asking for the tag!!! Steamboat is slowly crawling over!!!!! Slater tags out to Orton, Orton cuts Steamboat off by grabbing his foot, Steamboat gets to his feet with Orton still holding onto his left foot!!!! ENZIGURI!!!! STEAMBOAT CRACKS ORTON IN THE SIDE OF THE HEAD!!!!!
STEAMBOAT LUNGES TO THE CORNER AND MAKES THE TAG!!!!
DIBIASE IS IN THE RING AND IS A HOUSE OF FIRE!!!!
Dibaise unloads on Orton!!!!! Slater rushes into the ring and Dibiase backdrops him!!!!! Steamboat jumps back into the ring and lights Slater up with chops!!! Steamboat and Slater are brawling!!!! Hebner is trying to break it up, Dibiase reaches into his boot and pulls out a black glove!!! Dibiase puts the glove on and catches Orton flush in the mush!!! Orton goes down!!!! Dibiase makes the cover, Hebner turns to see it and makes the three count!!! Steamboat and Dibiase advance!!!!
