Rocky Johnson is the UWF World's Heavyweight Champ after beating champ Greg 'Hammer' Valentine in New Orleans in a steel cage match at the Lakefront Arena with manager Baby Doll handcuffed to former Women's Champ Wendi Richter ringside. Johnson was out of action courtest of bounty hunters Harley Race & Dory Funk Jr. who teamed up to collected Greg Valentine's $25,000 bounty on Johnson's head. Funk & Races partnership erupted quickly when Race kept the check & cashed it giving none to Junior. Race eventually ran Dory out of the UWF in a loser leaves town match in Shreveport, La. A week later, Johnson returned to action to injure Harley who has not been seen in the area for weeks. While champ Valentine held off challenges from Outlaw' Ron Bass, 'Killer' Tim Brooks, D.J. Peterson & 'Cowboy' Scott Casey.
The UWF Tag Team Champions Masahiro Chono & Great Kabuki w/mgr. Sunshine exchanged the tag belts with former champs DJ Peterson & Don Diamond near the end of April in Biloxi, Miss. then regained them in early April in Jackson, Miss. The Pit Bulls challenged Peterson & Diamond as well as Rock Hunter's new masked tag team of Dante & Mephisto before the Asian team regained the belts.
'Gentleman'' Chris Adams w/mgr. Sunshine finally won the UWF World's Junior Belt from the Ultimo Dragon in New Orleans, La. 3 weeks ago. They battled in different stipulation matches with Ultimo holding on to the belt until 3 weeks ago. Nelson Royal, Ron Starr & Steve Regal are after Adams as well as the Dragon.
UWF Women's Champion Rockin Robin w/mgr. Baby Doll took the title off of Wendi Richter in Baton Rouge during the first week of April. Richter had regained the belt from Lelani Kai in a handicap match with Kai & Baby Doll in Hattiesburg, Miss. the third week of March. Richter & Doll are in a heated rivalry with Robin caught in the middle.
'Bruiser'Bob Sweetan & 'Killer' Tim Brooks tried again at tag teaming but could not get along & had a violent falling out two weeks gago. .Both vowed the UWF is not big enough for them.
'Outlaw' Ron Bass is engaged in a wild series of matches with 'Wild' Bill Irwin, from come as you are matches, brass knuckles matches & bullrope contests.
