Feel free to move this thread, if this isn't the place for it. I was wondering what everyone is thinking (without divulging deep, dark secrets). What kind of promotions are you trying to create?
I will tell you that I am taking Kerry with the number one pick. I want to push him, beginning in Texas, and then Nationwide. I have the luxury of having a clean and sober star every night. I want the idea of World Class, but on a larger scale. How the draft develops will determine where I initially go.
I'm also interested in what kind of TV, and house shows you are planning. I'm thinking about going with a weekly syndicated show, like the Sportatorium shows, but make it two hours, and maybe incorporate the two out three falls from the Ft. Worth shows.
If you'd like to discuss your plans, I'd love to read them.

I've put a big list together, and hopefully I can put a roster together that fits my vision.

Having a promotion based out of Los Angeles, we need to have a level of "flash", while at the same time emphasizing the in-ring product. I think the draft is going to determine the direction we go. I have names I think we can build around, but if certain superstars are still there when our pick comes, may have to call an audible!

I switched from the Amarillo promotion I was planning to a Canadian one. Like Tom, I want to start with eastern Canada, mainly just southern Ontario and Quebec, possibly with occasional forays into US cities like Detroit and Buffalo, and maybe into New England. Eventually, the idea is to expand right across Canada.
When I was going to do the west Texas promotion, my thought was I wanted it to be like the "wild west" of wrestling, just wild, crazy brawls, lots of bloody gimmick matches, that kind of thing. With the move to Canada, I'm bringing that idea with me, probably toned down a little bit, but I'm thinking like a mix between the Amarillo promotion back in the day, and Watts' Mid-South, just a wild, hard-hitting rough and rugged style of wrestling.
I'm hoping to add some of the smaller Canadian guys in the draft, so the undercards will probably be more mat-wrestling oriented, with less of the brawling and blood.

And since my promotion is the Universal Wrestling Enterprise (UWE), had to change my avatar to the legendary Uwe Blab.

Who, or what, is a Uwe Blab?!?!

All Pro Wrestling will start out with a 1 hour syndicated show, taped at various arenas throughout the Southeast. Right now, I'm leaning toward a Watts/Crockett hybrid, heavy on clean finishes, but a lot depends on who I'm able to draft.

Blab was a 7-0 Center out of West Germany who played collegiately at Indiana. He was a very good offensive big man in college. I thought he would be a good pro. He was not.

I thought he meant Uwe Boll.

Uwe Boll would have worked too!

In case I missed you when I sent out messages earlier, Jesse Ventura was moved from the staff draft to the wrestlers draft

APW's heavyweight title picture is shaping up nicely with Flair, Windham, & Brody.

I had no thought of taking the Road Warriors, but I couldn’t pass on them. My first thought was, I don’t know what to do with them. The easy answer is, toss them into the middle of your tag team picture. It’s not rocket science.

People used to fantasize about Ellering bringing Hawk & Animal to Dallas to go after Kerry & Kevin

All in all, a very good draft, I'm happy with the way things turned out. I didn't expect to get some of the guys I did, and I think my plans may change now, with the way things went tonight.

Just curious about what sort of titles you guys are planning on. Will your main title be a World Title or a regional type title?

Mine are going to be Canadian titles. I might introduce a World title down the road, though.

No World Title for me. I plan to have a National Heavyweight Title, Southeastern Heavyweight Title and Southeastern Tag Team Titles.

I’m going to go with American Titles. They match the organization’s name, and are also names used in World Class. I am also considering a “Unique” title, but I haven’t decided. I will also toss in some type of six man title, another Texas staple.

There are a few surprising undrafted wrestlers, most notably an Immortal, and a King.

I was thinking that my main singles and tag titles might be International, Global, or Universal titles. Something that indicates that it's really big without using the phrase"World Title". It's probably gonna be held by Flair or Race to start off, so it needs to be an NWA level thing. I also will probably do a TV Title to be defended on TV on a regular basis. If somebody had drafted davey Boy after I picked up Dynamite, I would have made Dynamite my Junior Heavyweight champ. That didn't happen, though.

There are a few surprising undrafted wrestlers, most notably an Immortal, and a King. My sources were telling me Hulk might go really early tonight. Since I'm based in the Volunteer State, I'm sure conventional wisdom had me snatching Lawler early on, but Memphis isn't really what I have in mind.
