September 2, 1988
Taped on August 28, 1988
Will Rogers Coliseum
Forth Worth, Texas
Announcer: Bill Mercer
Ring Announcer: Mark Lowrance
Interviewer/voice over talent: Doyle King
Referees: Bronko Lubich, Ralph Pulley, Rick Hazzard, & David Manning
MERCER: Welcome to Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth! We have a sensational hour of World Class Championship Wrestling! You'll see a double main event! The father/son combination of Blackjack Mulligan & Kendall Windham will take on the First Family team of American Champion Eddie Gilbert & former World Champion Terry Funk! There's no love lost between Funk and the Mulligan/Windham clan, so that should be a war! Also, Brad Armstrong teams up with the Ragin Bull against Al Perez and “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer! Also, this week, two international guests: Japan's national hero, Antonio Inoki, and one of Mexico's top stars, Perro Aguayo! All of this and much more, here this week on World Class Championship Wrestling!
COMMERCIAL
Perro Aguayo vs. Robbie Ellis: Aguayo, who will take on the Missing Link at Labor Day Star Wars, looks dominant here and finishes Ellis with a double stomp off the top rope.

Phil Apollo enters the ring. Then, we hear...
Antonio Inoki vs. Phil Apollo: Mercer works overtime putting Inoki over, saying Antonio is as popular in Japan as Babe Ruth or Muhammad Ali in the USA. Apollo looks totally outclassed and submits to Inoki's octopus hold. Doug Gilbert, Inoki's opponent at Labor Day Star Wars, comes to ringside to scout and looks intimidated and frightened. Big brother Eddie finally comes out and leads Doug away...
COMMERCIAL
Starfire (w/Scorpio) vs. Nightmare Danny Davis(w/Ken Wayne): In a preview of the American Tag Title match at Labor Day Star Wars, we see a fast paced, high flying bout. Starfire pins Davis after a missile dropkick and Mercer says if that happens at Star Wars, we have new champs!
COMMERCIAL
The Missing Link (w/ Sunshine) vs. Ken Wayne (w/Missy Hyatt): Missy and the Nightmare spend much of the match, playing hide and go seek with a foreign object, frustrating the Link, Sunshine, and referee Bronko Lubich in the process. Finally, Sunshine has had enough; she goes after Missy and we have a hair pulling, clothes tearing CATFIGHT! David Manning, Kendall Windham, & Doug Gilbert come out and manage to separate the ladies! Mercer reminds us that at Star Wars, there won't be any pulling them apart as they go at it in the mud! The Link hits a powerslam and pins Wayne soon after the ladies are ushered away...
COMMERCIAL
Ron Garvin vs. Terry Adonis: The man who will take on Eddie Gilbert on Labor Day for the American Title wrestles newcomer Adonis. Mercer informs us that Adonis has been quite successful in Vancouver, but that success doesn't translate to Texas as Ronnie manhandles his opponent before pinning him following a knockout punch.
COMMERCIAL
AL Perez & “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer(w/Gary Hart) vs. “Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez & Brad Armstrong: The Texas Title is held up between Perez and Armstrong while Sawyer and Fernandez have begun a bloody feud, so there is plenty of heat here. Hart plays a major role as he hits the Bull with a loaded sock, leading to Sawyer scoring the pin.The fight continues after until Armstrong gets a chair and clears the ring!
COMMERCIAL
Kendall Windham & Blackjack Mulligan vs. Terry Funk & “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert (w/ Missy Hyatt) : Kendall comes to the ring, swinging Dusty Rhodes' bullrope and that clears Funk & Gilbert from the ring early on. After several minutes of brawling, Funk brings in his branding iron and Windham counters with the bullrope! Referee Rick Hazzard DQs both teams, but they keep fighting for several minutes afterward!
COMMERCIAL
MERCER: Ladies and gentlemen, don't forget that International Star Wars will take place at the Convention Center in Tulsa, OK, on Labor Day! One of the greatest cards we've ever had in World Class! Tickets are still available!
Next week, on this program, an 8 man tag team MAIN EVENT, the Fabulous Blondes, all four of them, take on the super sensational quartet of Sid Vicious, the Patriot, the Missing Link, & the Iceman! I don't know if our World Class ring can hold all of the action in that one! Don't miss it!
