Gorilla Monsoon, and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan open the show.
Monsoon, “Welcome to ‘Wrestling Challenge’, I’m here with the manager of the ‘former’ Intercontinental Champion!”
Heenan, “Oh, you think that’s funny! Now tell the humanoids what happened, Rick Rude didn’t lose the title, mob boss Jack Tunney stole it from him!”
Monsoon, “You liar! Your man was stripped of his title because you interfered you piece of garbage! Today, Jack Tunney will announce how the vacant title will be filled. Now let’s talk about the Royal Rumble, Bad News Brown was the winner. That catapults him right into the thick of any title chase in the WWF! Finally, I don’t think the ‘co-manager’ idea is working for the Hulkster.”
Heenan, “I know, Elizabeth cost them against my men, but they weren’t going to win anyway.”
Monsoon, “Elizabeth did not, you couldn’t tell the truth if your life depended on it! Sherri threw that chair in the ring!”
Heenan, “That’s not how I heard it happened. I didn’t see it, I was busy.”
Monsoon, “Of course not. Let’s go to the ring.”
Match #1
Dino Bravo w/Frenchy Martin vs. Chris Carter
Bravo gave a good account of himself in the Royal Rumble. He takes on the popular Carter. Chris wrestles well, but Bravo is so powerful. He pounds away and wins with a side suplex.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts vs. The Brooklyn Brawler
“The Snake” is still on top of his game. The Brawler is rugged, and tries every dirty trick in the book. Roberts is ready for anything. He is methodical, and vicious. He wins with the DDT. He then drapes Damien over the Brawler.

Billy Jack Haynes vs. Pete Doherty
Haynes and Rick Rude are embroiled in a controversy over the Intercontinental Title. We will find out today how that will be decided. The “Duke of Dorchester”will be a good test. The Duke jumps Billy before the bell. He punches and kicks, and Billy is in trouble. Haynes begins to rally. He throws rights and lefts, and now Doherty is in retreat. Haynes locks in the full and,son, and Pete gives up.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund is seated in front of a “Main Event” banner.
Okerlund, “Fans, St. Patrick’s Day is a day of celebration, and this year, in the WWF, it will ba a night of action! The ‘Main Event’ returns. To NBC. We will be live, at 8:00 PM. The action will emanate from the home of the Fighting Irish, the campus of the University of Notre Dame! Our last live broadcast provided great action, and this show will be no different. We can announce one match so far. Let’s look at some action from the Royal Rumble.”
We see Bobby Heenan interfere after Billy Jack Haynes has the full Nelson applied on Champion Rick Rude. Tony Garea then announces that Rude has been stripped of the Title, and the Title declared vacant.
Okerlund, “Let’s go to WWF President Jack Tunney.”
We see Jack Tunney seated at his desk.
Tunney, “Hello Fans. The WWF Board of Directors met for several hours and discussed several ways to decide the Championship. Finally, it was decided that Rick Rude, and Billy Jack Haynes would meet in a one fall to a finish match. That solved part of the problem, but the big question was, what to do about Bobby Heenan? One idea was to bar him from ringside. That was dismissed because, as devious as Heenan is, he would still find a way to interfere. It was decided that Heenan would be allowed at ringside, but he will be handcuffed to Big John Studd. We feel this will allow us to have a fair match. This match will take place, live on NBC, on the ‘Main Event’ on March 17.”
Okerlund, “What a bombshell, the ‘Weasel’ handcuffed to Big John Studd! Stay tuned for more information about the ‘Main Event’!”
We go to Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan.
Monsoon, “You did it now Brain! You and John Studd. You’ve got some dues to pay!”
Heenan, “Heeeee can’t do that! Lllllisten Tunney, my lawyers will be on you like white on rice! This is an outrage,”
Monsoon, “You seemed worked up!”
Heenan, “I’m going backstage to call my lawyer!”
Monsoon, “You’re staying right here. We have a match to call.”
Match #4
The Rougeau Brothers w/Frenchy Martin vs. Calypso Jim and Gino Carabello
The talented French Canadiens are one of the top teams in the WWF. Jacques and Jim open the contest. Jacques is very aggressive, and pounds away. Raymond tags in and continues the assault. He continues the attack. Carabello tags in. He is no match for Raymond and a Rougeau Bomb ends things.
Winners-The Rougeau Brothers
Sean Mooney is with “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Miss Elizabeth, and Sensational Sherri.
Mooney, “With are three of the most important people in wrestling, but we are missing one person. Where is Hulk Hogan? Is he still angry over the Royal Rumble?”
Savage, “Don’t worry about that Sean Mooney, that’s the Hulkster’s business yes it is! All the water is under the bridge.”
Mooney, “Alright, this combination with Sherri, and Elizabeth, is it working?.
Savage, “100%, 100%, That's What it is! We’re all on the same page yes we are! I’m happy, Sherri’s happy, and so is Elizabeth!”
Mooney, “Elizabeth, is that true?”
Sherri, “I’ll answer that, she’s happy! Who wouldn’t be happy around the Macho Man? Elizabeth knows she made a mistake at the Royal Rumble.”
Mooney, “Elizabeth, is that true?”
Elizabeth, “Well..”
Sherri, “I just answered that!”
Savage, “Sean Mooney, the Hulkster, and myself, are the driving force in wrestling! Yes we are, ohhhhh yeaaaaa!”
Mooney, “I still want to know where the Hulkster is.”
Match #5
The British Bulldogs vs. Jerry Allen and Joe Mirto
The Bulldogs have returned with a bang. The Dynamite Kid and Allen start things. Allen is very strong, and he holds his own for a time. The Kid’s quickness takes over. He controls the action, and tags in Smith. Davey Boy goes to work. Allen tags in Mirto, and things go downhill fast. Smith uses a powerslam for the win.

Match #6
Bad News Brown vs. S.D. Jones
Bad News is coming off the big win in the Royal Rumble. The veteran Antigua starts fast. He hits and moves, and Brown is frustrated. He begins to slow the pace of the match. Brown is now the hunter. He takes the fight to S.D. Bad News is at his vicious best. He hits the ghetto blaster, and Jones is out. Bad News grabs the mic.
Brown, “”Listen to me you beer bellied sharecroppers! I beat twenty nine fools in the Royal Rumble, but there’s one man I didn’t get to beat! That’s the so called WWF Champion, the Macho Man! Savage, stop hiding behind those two women’s skirts, and put that title on the line! Let me take it!”
Winner-Bad News Brown
Gorilla Monsoon, and Bobby Heenan, close the show.
Monsoon, “Bad News has set his sights on the Champion, Brain, What does that mean?”
Heenan, “They can’t handcuff me to Studd! I’ll call President Reagan, I’ll call President Bush, I’ll call ...Ollie North, he’ll fix this!”
Monsoon, “This piece of work is out of it. With everything that is going on, you don’t want to miss one minute of WWF action!”
