The ring at the Sam Houston Coliseum is filled and surrounded by the entire babyface roster, the announcers, the referees, WCCW President Fritz Von Erich and his son Chris, as well as Houston wrestling mainstays Paul Boesch and Peter Birkholz. Mark Lowrance addresses the crowd...
LOWRANCE: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm sure you've heard the tragic news of the death of one of professional wrestling's true superstars, Frank Goodish, who wrestled under the name Bruiser Brody. Brody was only 42 years old and he leaves behind his lovely wife Barbara and his son Geoffrey. Out of respect for the memory of this great athlete, we ask that you all rise and observe a moment of silence as the bell is tolled ten times in Frank's memory.
You can hear a pin drop as the fans stand. Then...

MERCER: Wrestling fans, we have a sensational program for you today with two title matches! But, first, a musical tribute to the legacy of the late Bruiser Brody!
VTR:
Music video set to the above tune. It starts out with still photos from Brody's childhood and teenage years. This is followed by grainy footage from his early wrestling career. There is also home movie footage of Brody with his wife and son as well as clips of him in action from World Class. We see scenes of him with the Von Erichs. The last pieces of footage are of Brody making his legendary ring entrance in Japan, followed by Brody paying his respects at David Von Erich's funeral. The last image is a still of Brody with his wife and son with “Bruiser Brody” Frank Goodish(1946-1988) and “We'll never forget you, Bruise!” on the bottom of the screen.

Starfire & Scorpio vs. Goldie Rogers & Gama Singh: Paul Boesch & Peter Birkholz join Mercer on commentary and both say that Rogers & Singh are a team that are highly reccomended by Stu Hart. Reccomended or not, they are no match for Starfire & Scorpio. Starfire pins Rogers after a missile dropkick and all the commntators agree that this young team will be trouble for whoever wins today's American tag Title match.

Hacksaw Butch Reed vs. Mongolian Stomper (w/Skandor Akbar): Chris Von Erich joins Mercer for commentary and comes across more like a typical teenage mark than somebody who was raised in the business. Mercer asks Chris if he aspires to be a wrestler just as Reed press slams Stomper. The youngest Von Erich says he wants no part of that kind of punishment as Hacksaw gets the pin. Chris also says that Kerry & Kevin love being WWF tag team champions, but miss Texas and will make trips home as their schedule permits.

Sid Vicious vs. Eric Embry (w/ “Mr. Magnificent” Kevin Kelly): Sid's feud with the Fabulous Blondes continues. Embry uses his sneaky rulebreaking tactics to stay in the match, but he has no counter when Sid applies the cobra clutch! Kelly attacks Sid to save Embry, getting him disqualified in the process!

Kendall Windham, Ron Garvin, & Missing Link (w/Sunshine) vs. “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert, “Dangerous” Doug Gilbert, & Terry Funk(w/Missy Hyatt): With Fritz Von Erich joining Mercer on commentary, the next match is a wild, memphis style brawl with heavy interference and catfighting from the valets. Garvin, still wearing the mask to protect his burnt face, scores another pinfall on the American champ as he pins Eddie Gilbert after a backslide! After the bout, Eddie and Missy approach the announce position!
GILBERT: Fritz Von Erich, just the man I'm looking for! I've just been waiting for the opportunity to get in your face and air a few grievances!
FRITZ: I'm all ears, pardner! Speak your peace!
GILBERT: First off, I'm the American Heavyweight Champion! You held this title over a dozen times and I bet they never once stuck you in six man tag team matches on TV against the guy who you beat half to death for the title!
MISSY: THAT'S RIGHT!
FRITZ: Ronnie Garvin has been asking to get his hands on you any way possible! After you burnt him to win that belt, I just happen to think he'e entitled to get his hands on you!
GILBERT: Well, I see whose side you're on! Number two, somebody signed the open contract that I signed for Labor Day Star Wars! How can I train for a match when I don't know my opponent?
FRITZ: Fair enough! At Star Wars in Tulsa, you'll defend that American Title against the former champion Ronnie Garvin and it will be a no disqualification, no countout, no time limit match!
EDDIE: WHAT?
MISSY: NO FAIR!
FRITZ: No stopping the match for any reason! THERE MUST BE A WINNER!
EDDIE: How long have you been on Ronnie Garvin's payroll? Can I ask you that?
FRITZ: (standing up) Young man, I would advise you to find some other place to be!
EDDIE: It's ok! No disqualification means I can do anything that I want to do! That should scare you to death, Ron Garvin!
Eddie & Missy stalk away!

AMERICAN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Steve & Shaun Simpson(c) vs. The Nightmares(Ken Wayne & Danny Davis)(w/Eddie Gilbert): Both teams use quick tags and teamwork in a fast paced match. TEXAS TITLE MATCH: Al Perez © (w/Gary Hart) vs. Brad Armstrong: These two young men are very evenly matched and manage to wrestle within the rules for the most part. After about five minutes of action, Buzz Sawyer comes to ringside and stands beside Hart. A few minutes later, Manny Fernandez comes down and stands on the other side of the ring. The Ragin Bull and the Mad Dog stare each other down at first, then yell insults and threats at one another! When Armstrong hits the Russian leg sweep on Perez, Sawyer interferes, leading to the Texas Champ being disqualified! After the match, Sawyer and Fernandez brawl with Armstrong and Perez eventually getting involved! The battle is still going on as we run out of TV time and Mercer reminds us to tune in next week!
