AUDITORIUM ARENA IN DENVER, COLORADO
YOUNG LIONS CUP MATCH:
JOHNNY SMITH defeats WILD PEGASUS. Smith gets the win and his first two points of the Young Lions Cup when he pins Pegasus after a missile dropkick.
MIKE ROTUNDA beats BLACK BART. Bart is a tough customer, but in the end, Rotunda gets the win after the Airplane Spin.
STEVE “DR. DEATH” WILLIAMS & GARY ALBRIGHT defeat THE PLAYBOYS: TOM PRITCHARD & JIMMY DEL RAY (w/ Diamond Dallas Page). The Playboys use every underhanded tactic they can to gain an advantage, but eventually the former World champion and his young protégé simply overpower them, and Williams plants Del Ray with the Oklahoma Stampede for the pinfall.
AWA World TV champion TERRY TAYLOR beats “COWBOY” BOB ORTON JR (w/ Jimmy Hart). Orton looks to regain the TV title from Taylor here, and gives the champion a tough match. They go 15 minutes before Taylor connects with the diving forearm smash off the ropes for the pinfall victory.
AWA World Tag Team champions BRET HART & JIM NEIDHART (w/ Jimmy Hart) battle THE CAN-AM EXPRESS: TOM ZENK & PHIL LAFLEUR to a DRAW at the 30-minute mark.
AWA America’s champion SGT. SLAUGHTER battles ”THE UGANDAN HEADHUNTER” KAMALA (w/ Jimmy Hart & Kimchee) to a DOUBLE COUNT-OUT. The Denver fans have been treated to top-notch technical wrestling in most of the matches so far tonight, but there aren’t many wrestling holds or counterholds to be found in this one! This match is a slobberknocker from start to finish! Slaughter is looking for revenge after Kamala attacked him just over a week ago in St. Paul, and Kamala, as always, is more interested in hurting his opponent than winning the match.
Late in the match, the battle moves to the floor, where Kamala busts Slaughter open by ramming his head into the steel ringpost. Slaughter bounces back, though, and with blood running down his face, he takes the fight to the Ugandan warrior. Neither man pays any attention to the referee’s count, and after giving them some leeway, the referee starts his count, reaches 10, and calls for the bell. Nothing was settled here, and the two continue to brawl around ringside long after the bell.

CIVIC AUDITORIUM IN OMAHA, NEBRASKA
YOUNG LIONS CUP MATCH:
OWEN HART defeats FUJI YAMADA. Hart takes the lead in the tournament with this win over the man who was leading the pack prior to tonight. The fans are on the edge of their seats by the time this one is over, as we get one nearfall after another coming into the final few minutes of the match. As we pass the 15-minute mark, Owen heads to the top rope, hits a missile dropkick, and then as he lands on the mat, in one fluid motion, he kips up to his feet. The impact of the dropkick sent Yamada staggering towards the ropes, and he tumbles through the ropes and to the floor. Owen doesn’t waste any time, he runs the ropes, and attempts a suicide dive through the ropes, but Yamada moves out of the way, and Owen crashes into the ringside barrier. Yamada then rolls Owen back in, and heads to the top rope. He goes for the Shooting Star Press, but Owen rolls out of the way at the last second, and Yamada crashes to the mat. Owen quickly covers Yamada, and gets the 1, 2, 3!
TOSHIAKI KAWADA & TIGER MASK (w/ Mr. Matsuda) beat THE YOUNG STALLIONS: PAUL ROMA & JIM POWERS. These are two talented young teams, and they give it their all here for the Omaha fans. Mr. Matsuda’s duo get the win when both Kawada and Tiger Mask hit Roma in the face with a double spinning heel kick. Kawada then covers Roma for the 1, 2, 3.
JIM NEIDHART (w/ Jimmy Hart) beats PHIL LAFLEUR (w/ Tom Zenk). Bret Hart accompanies Neidhart and Jimmy Hart to the ring, and Bret and Neidhart jump Lafleur before the bell! They give him a beating until Tom Zenk makes the save, and chases Bret to the back. As a result, Lafleur is in bad shape when the actual match begins. He fights valiantly, but in his weakened state, he’s not match for the powerhouse Neidhart. Neidhart pummels Lafleur and hits him with a vicious powerslam for the 1, 2, 3.
BRET HART (w/ Jimmy Hart) beats TOM ZENK. Bret targets Zenk’s leg early on, slowing the Z-Man down, and keeping him on the mat. Zenk battles back and the two wrestle a mostly clean, scientific match. In the end, after Bret does further damage, Zenk’s leg gives out when he attempts to suplex Hart, and Zenk falls to the mat, with Bret landing on top of him in a pinning predicament. Zenk can’t kick out, and Bret picks up the pinfall victory.
STEVE “DR. DEATH” WILLIAMS battles “MR. WONDERFUL” PAUL ORNDORFF (w/ Jimmy Hart) to a DRAW at the 20-minute mark. While fans may not care for Orndorff’s attitude, there’s no denying that he’s one of the top wrestlers in the game today, and he shows it here, going 20 minutes with the former AWA World champion! Williams has the advantage as the match ends, but he can’t put Orndorff away before the time runs out and the match is declared a draw.
AWA America’s champion SGT. SLAUGHTER battles ”THE UGANDAN HEADHUNTER” KAMALA (w/ Jimmy Hart & Kimchee) to a DOUBLE DQ. Slaughter is led to the ring by a USMC drum group, waving the American flag proudly as he comes down the aisle. The fans are solidly behind the “Real American Hero” here, as he takes the fight to Kamala as soon as the bell sounds! Slaughter has the big man reeling with rights and lefts, but Kamala turns the tables, driving a jab into Slaughter’s throat, then delivering some vicious chops that put Sarge on the mat. Kamala gleefully stomps away at Slaughter, and then bounces off the ropes and splashes Sarge. Kamala covers him, but Slaughter manages to kick out at the last second. The fans are worried, as Slaughter only just got his shoulder up at the very last possible second, and it seems as though Kamala might be just too much for the former Marine to overcome.
As the match progresses, Kamala doesn’t seem interested in pinning Sarge, he’s enjoying himself just inflicting punishment on Slaughter. However, the tables turn when Kamala again goes for the splash off the ropes, but Slaughter gets his knees up to block the move. With Kamala doubled over, Sarge digs down deep, and finds the strength to take the fight to Kamala once again. He stuns Kamala with a series of elbow strikes to the head, that back Kamala up against the ropes, and Slaughter then charges, and delivers a running clothesline that sends Kamala through the ropes and out to the floor.
Slaughter follows him out, grabbing Kamala, and repeatedly slamming his head into the ring apron. Kamala is stunned, but only for a moment, then he recovers, and drives a knee into Slaughter’s midsection, and delivers a vicious headbutt. Kamala then shoves the timekeeper aside, and grabs his chair! Kamala brings the chair down across the head of Slaughter, but the Sarge is able to get his hands up to block most of the impact. Slaughter then boots Kamala in the gut, and grabs the chair, battering the Ugandan warrior with it!
Kamala rolls back into the ring, and Slaughter follows him back in, with the chair! Slaughter goes to hit Kamala again, but Kamala grabs the chair, and the two men fight over it for a moment, but Kamala wins out, and clobbers Slaughter with the chair. The referee calls for the bell, and disqualifies both men!
The two men continue to battle in the ring, until officials and other wrestlers come out and separate them.
