BROADCAST LIVE FROM THE LAKEFRONT ARENA IN NEW ORLEANS, LA



CHRIS CRUISE opens the show from the broadcast location, and introduces his co-hosts, STAN LANE and JIM CORNETTE.

They welcome us to the return of the National Wrestling Alliance to national television, right here on TNT, with TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION. Cruise says the name is fitting, because they’ve got an action-packed show ahead!

CRUISE runs down what we’ll see on this debut episode of NWA TNA . . . Brutus Beefcake will be in action . . . the masked American Ace will see singles action . . . the 6’9, nearly 500 lbs. Big Daddy Knight will be in action . . . and in the main event, NWA World Tag Team Champs Rick & Scott Steiner will defend the titles against Ron & Don, the Bruise Brothers!

VS.

MATCH #1:
THE AMERICAN ACE beats “DIRTY” DICK SLATER. Slater turns this match into a brawl right from the get-go. Ace shows that, while he prefers a scientific, and occasionally high-flying, style, he can handle himself in a brawl as well. The masked man picks up the win at the 6-minute mark after a fallaway slam.


CHRIS CRUISE talks about the NWA reviving an old title, the NWA International title. He says that some of the biggest names in wrestling, both in America, and Japan, have held the title in the past. There will be a tournament held in the coming weeks to crown a new International Champion.


LANCE RUSSELL conducts a ringside interview with DR. DEATH STEVE WILLIAMS. Williams, a star in the old UWF promotion, gets a loud welcome from the New Orleans fans. Williams thanks the fans for their support.

RUSSELL runs down some of Steve’s accomplishments, for anyone who may be watching that isn’t familiar with Dr. Death. Lance talks about Williams’ days as an Oklahoma Sooner, at OU, where he was a football All-American. He’s also an amateur wrestling stand-out, and has held titles all over the World since turning pro.

WILLIAMS says that he’s had a lot of success in his career, and he couldn’t have done it without all of the fans cheering him on.




CRUISE, LANE and CORNETTE talk about the reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion TERRY FUNK.

We see a lengthy video of Terry Funk in action, focusing on his recent title defences, mostly in the Smoky Mountain region. The video ends with footage of Funk defending the title against NWA TV Champ Chris Candido on the final episode of NWA Smoky Mountain Wrestling, including Candido SPITTING IN THE CHAMPION’S FACE!!


LANCE RUSSELL is in the ring with NWA World Champion TERRY FUNK. Funk talks about the tough challenges he’s faced since winning this belt. He then talks about Chris Candido, and says that Candido will pay dearly for disrespecting him like that.

At that point, DUTCH MANTELL, Candido’s manager, comes out to the ring.

RUSSELL gets in between the two, telling them that he doesn’t want any trouble from them. Mantell says that Terry Funk comes out here, and he lies to these people, he tells them about all the things he’s going to do to Chris Candido when he gets his hands on him, BUT, what these fans don’t know is that Funk has repeatedly ducked Candido!

FUNK denies this, but Mantell cuts him off and continues. Dutch says that Candido has been trying to get a rematch with Funk since their match in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, but Funk continues to duck the TV Champ.

TERRY says that’s bullshit, he’ll face Candido any time, any place.

MANTELL says he was hoping Funk would say that, and challenges the Champion to face Candido, for the belt, RIGHT HERE TONIGHT ON TNA!!

FUNK accepts this challenge, and says he’ll see Candido later tonight.

VS.

MATCH #2:
BRUTUS “THE BARBER” BEEFCAKE beats MIKE ENOS. Enos is as tough as they come, and he pummels the Barber early on, but Brutus turns the tables when Enos whips him into the corner, but Brutus comes flying back out of the corner, and catches Enos with a kneelift that puts the big man on the mat. From there, Brutus wears down his opponent, and eventually locks on the Sleeperhold for the win at 6:44.

VS.

MATCH #3:
BIG DADDY KNIGHT (w/ Harvey Whippleman) beats ADAM BIRCH. Birch, the rookie, shows what he’s made of, tearing into the massive 500 lbs. Knight as soon as the bell rings, but unfortunately for Birch, he made the mistake of trying a bodypress, and Knight caught him, then fell forwards, squashing Birch. That would have been enough for a 3-count itself, but Knight wants to punish the rookie some more, and runs the ropes, delivering a big splash, then another, before covering Birch for the 1, 2, 3 at the 2-minute mark.

After the match, Whippleman comes in and kicks Birch a few times for good measure. Whippleman then snatches the house mic right out of Mike McGuirk’s hand, and says that there’s no way the NWA should have hired a woman to do the ring announcing. He then announces Knight as the victor, and says that not only is Big Daddy Knight unbeatable, but he doubts there’s anyone in the NWA that can even take the big man off his feet!

Whippleman drops the mic at McGuirk’s feet, leaving her to pick it up as boos rain down from every corner of the Lakefront Arena.


CRUISE, LANE and CORNETTE talk about a television special from the NWA, SATURDAY NIGHT SUPERCADE, coming up on Saturday, September 7, live on TNT! Matches for this 2-hour live special will be announced in the coming weeks here on Total Non-stop Action!

MATCH #4
NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
RICK & SCOTT STEINER (Champions) defeat THE BRUISE BROTHERS. These two teams are no strangers to each other, as the Steiners beat the Bruise Brothers in the old Smoky Mountain territory for the World Tag Team Titles. The Harris boys pummel the Steiners early on, but Rick and Scott soon return the favour. These two teams aren’t interested in scientific wrestling, they just want to beat the hell out of each other! Rick drops both Ron and Don right on their heads with a pair of belly to belly suplexes, then Scott goes to the top rope, and catches Ron with a Bulldog off the top. Scott covers Ron, while Rick brawls with Don, and Scott gets the 1, 2, 3!

Late in the match, former NWA World Tag Champs THE HEAVENLY BODIES walk down the ramp, and watch the ending of the match. After getting their hands raised, the Steiners challenge Prichard and Del Ray to come on into the ring, but the Bodies just walk back down the ramp and to the locker room.




Backstage, DEBRA MICELI catches up with TOM PRICHARD & JIMMY DEL RAY. Miceli asks them what business they had, coming out during the Steiners match. Prichard says that they held the NWA Tag titles once before, and they want them back. Del Ray says the Steiners are just a couple of muscleheads, while he and Prichard are tag team PERFECTION! He says that there’s never been a tag team the calibre of the Heavenly Bodies, and that includes the Steiners!




Chris Candido comes to the ring to AC/DC’s “Back in Black”, while “Desperado” by the Eagles brings the Heavyweight Champion of the World, Terry Funk, to the ring.

VS.

MATCH #5
NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP:
TERRY FUNK (Champion) V. CHRIS CANDIDO (w/ Dutch Mantell). Candido’s NWA TV title is not on the line for this match.

Funk goes right at Candido as soon as the bell sounds, but Candido quickly bails out of the ring, and takes a moment to talk with Mantell at ringside, while Funk paces like a caged animal inside the ring. Finally, Funk has waited long enough, Candido is close enough to the ring that Funk can reach through the ropes and grab him by the hair! The World Champ pulls Candido up onto the apron by his hair, then suplexes him into the ring.

The next few minutes are all Terry Funk, as he pummels Candido. Funk doesn’t even attempt to pin the challenger, he just wants to punish him. The momentum shifts a few minutes later, after a well-placed thumb to the eye by Candido stops Funk dead in his tracks. Candido bounces off the ropes and drops the World Champ with a clothesline, then stomps away at him.

Funk eventually turns the tables again, and starts hitting Candido with stiff rights and lefts, that leave the TV Champ reeling. Funk sets Candido up for the Piledriver, but Dutch Mantell gets up on the apron, distracting Funk. Terry drops Candido, and charges at Mantell, who wisely drops back to the floor.

Funk and Mantell jaw back and forth a little bit, which gives Candido a chance to recover, and he drives a knee into the back of the Champion.

Dutch Mantell gets up on the apron again, and distracts the referee, allowing Candido to pull what looks to be a piece of rope out of one of his kneepads, and he starts choking Funk with it!

Suddenly, STEVE WILLIAMS charges down the ramp, to ringside, and grabs Mantell. Williams hits Mantell several punches, then drops Dutch with a big haymaker.

This has caught Chris Candido’s attention, and he stops choking Funk and yells at Williams, saying he has no business out there. While that’s going on, Funk crawls over behind Candido, and swings his arm up, hitting a low blow on Candido.

Funk then rolls Candido up for the 1, 2, 3!!

Candido goes to check on Mantell, then grabs his NWA TV title belt, and bashes Funk in the back of the head with it, before storming off with Dutch Mantell.


CHRIS CRUISE, STAN LANE & JIM CORNETTE wrap up the show, and recap what took place. Cruise hypes next week’s show, which will see TV Champion Chris Candido defend the title against Steve “Dr. Death” Williams in the main event!

CHRIS CRUISE opens the show from the broadcast location, and introduces his co-host, RAYMOND ROUGEAU.

CRUISE and ROUGEAU welcome us to the nation’s capital, Ottawa, Ontario, for the return of the National Wrestling Alliance to Canada . . . it’s TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION!!!

CRUISE talks about what we’ll see on tonight’s show . . . in a battle of David vs Goliath, Chavo Guerrero Jr, from the legendary Guerrero family, takes on the Warlord . . . another giant will be in action, as King Kong Bundy makes his NWA TNA debut . . . NWA World Tag Team Champions the Steiner Brothers will defend the titles against the double-tough duo of Mike Enos and “Dirty” Dick Slater . . . and in the main event, NWA TV Champ Chris Candido gets another shot at Terry Funk and the NWA World Title. We’ll also take a look at a recent incident between Funk and Candido that led to this rematch.

ROUGEAU talks about the BRITISH COMMONWEALTH TITLE, and says that a 4-man tournament will start tonight, with the finals being held on Saturday night, September 7, at Saturday Night Supercade, a live 2-hour special, right here on TSN!

VS.

MATCH #1:
CHAVO GUERRERO JR beats THE WARLORD. Warlord uses his size and strength advantage to control the early going, but Chavo turns things around, and has the big man reeling with several dropkicks. With the Warlord momentarily stunned, Chavo goes to the top rope, jumps off, delivers a Huracanrana, and picks up the 1, 2, 3!




STAN LANE hosts an NWA Control Centre segment. Lane talks about the National Wrestling Alliance making the move to Canada, and says that the great fans in Canada can see Total Non-stop Action from coast to coast on TSN!

LANE then talks about SATURDAY NIGHT SUPERCADE, coming up on Saturday night, September 7, from GM Place in Vancouver, BC. The show will air live on TSN!

Some matches have been signed, including the finals of the NWA British Commonwealth Title tournament, and the Heavenly Bodies will challenge the Steiner Brothers for the NWA World Tag Team Titles.

VS.

MATCH #2:
KING KONG BUNDY beats LOUIE SPICOLLI. Bundy makes short work of Spicolli, and finishes Louie off with the Atlantic City Avalanche for the 1, 2, 3. Afterwards, Bundy runs the ropes and splashes his fallen opponent for good measure.




STAN LANE conducts a backstage interview with SHANE SEWELL. Sewell talks about growing up a few hours from here, in Toronto, and says that he’s been wrestling mainly in Puerto Rico for the last few years, but coming back to Canada and working for the National Wrestling Alliance, the most prestigious wrestling organization in the World, is a dream come true.

SHANE then talks about his British Commonwealth tournament match later on against Unabomb. He says that not much is known about this monster, but that doesn’t matter to him, all he knows is, the bigger they are, the harder they fall!

STAN LANE is then joined by NWA TV Champion CHRIS CANDIDO. Candido talks about his match coming up in the main event against Terry Funk, and says that Funk is a washed up has-been, and Candido will leave the ring tonight with BOTH belts!


CRUISE and ROUGEAU are joined at ringside by UNABOMB, and his manager HARVEY WHIPPLEMAN. Whippleman says that the Unabomb is unstoppable, and on September 7, he will be crowned British Commonwealth Champion!

UNABOMB says he will destroy the puny Canadian Shane Sewell tonight, and go on to win the tournament.

VS.

MATCH #3
NWA BRITISH COMMONWEALTH TITLE TOURNAMENT, SEMI FINALS:
UNABOMB (w/ Harvey Whippleman) beats SHANE SEWELL. The Ottawa crowd is behind the young man from Toronto as he goes toe to toe with the monster Unabomb. Sewell puts up a good fight, but Harvey Whippleman distracts Sewell, allowing Unabomb to attack from behind, and that’s all she wrote for Sewell. The monster Unabomb pounds Sewell into the mat, and drops him with a huge Chokeslam for the pinfall.


Footage airs from the NWA show on TNT, two weeks prior to the switch to Canada. We see Terry Funk defending the NWA title against Chris Candido, and the match ends when Candido becomes distracted by Steve Williams brawling with Dutch Mantell, who had come out to lend support to Candido, allowing Funk to get the pinfall. Footage is then shown of Candido laying Funk out with his NWA TV title belt after the decision is announced.




STAN LANE conducts a backstage interview with NWA World Champion TERRY FUNK and STEVE WILLIAMS. Funk talks about the match tonight with Candido, saying he’ll beat Candido, right in the middle of the ring, and Candido won’t have any more excuses. Williams says that after Funk is finished with the TV Champ tonight, he wants a shot at Candido as well.

VS.

MATCH #4:
THE HEAVENLY BODIES (w/ Jim Cornette) defeat THE FANTASTICS (Tommy Rogers & Bobby Fulton). These two teams give the fans a great match, with non-stop, back and forth action. In the end, the Bodies get the win when Prichard hoists Fulton up on his shoulders, in sitting position, and Del Ray jumps off the top rope, delivering a Bulldog in the process, just like Rick and Scott Steiner do. Del Ray then covers Fulton for the 1, 2, 3!

Jim Cornette takes the mic from Gary Michael Cappetta after the match, and says that the Heavenly Bodies are still the greatest tag team in wrestling today, and the Steiners days as Champions are numbered!

VS.

MATCH #5
NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
RICK & SCOTT STEINER (Champs) battle ROUGH N’ READY (Dick Slater & Mike Enos) to a Double Count-out. After several minutes of wild, hard-hitting action, the two teams leave the ring and don’t return. They brawl all around the ring on the floor, and Rick and Enos make their way up onto the ramp that leads to the ring, and battle up and down the ramp. Eventually the two teams are separated.


A video airs, chronicling past wrestling events across Canada. We see clips of men like Whipper Billy Watson, Gene Kiniski, the Sheik, Abdullah the Butcher, Nick Bockwinkel, the Hart family, and many others.


CHRIS CRUISE and RAYMOND ROUGEAU talk about tonight’s main event and they both make predictions. Cruise thinks Funk will retain the World title, but Rougeau thinks that Candido’s got the Funker’s number, and even though he’d like to see Funk retain the title, he thinks Candido will win.

They send us up to the ring, and it’s time for the main event!

VS.

MATCH #6
NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP, CANDIDO’S TV TITLE IS NOT ON THE LINE:
TERRY FUNK (Champ) V. CHRIS CANDIDO. This may be the best match yet between these two, as both men lay it all on the line. The action is non-stop, and the momentum shifts back and forth. Both men get several nearfalls.

Late in the match, Candido charges at Funk, who’s standing against the ropes, holding himself up. As Candido reaches him, Funk falls to the mat, and Candido tumbles right over the top and to the floor. A moment later, Funk goes goes out after him, and they brawl around ringside for a moment before Funk rolls Candido back into the ring, then follows him in. Funk hits a back suplex for a nearfall. Candido hits a low blow that puts Funk on the mat, then delivers a running kneedrop off the ropes, but only gets 2 on that. What follows is a flurry of offence, from both men, that results in a bunch of nearfalls, but neither man can put the other away.

Candido gets another VERY close nearfall, which he thinks should have been 3, and he argues with referee Dave Hebner. This allows Funk to get to his feet, and the two men trade punches in the middle of the ring. Funk gets the better of the exchange, so Candido jabs a thumb in the Champion’s eye. Candido takes the opportunity to drop Funk with a clothesline, then presses his boot down on Funk’s throat, choking him! Candido hits a suplex for a nearfall, then throws Funk to the floor. The announcers question the wisdom of that, as Candido can’t win the belt on the floor, but Candido uses the referee’s count to inflict punishment on the Funker, using the ringpost and the steel guardrail separating the fans from the ring.

Candido rolls Funk back into the ring, then gets up on the apron, but Funk quickly gets to his feet, and hooks Candido for a suplex, bringing him back into the ring that way. Back inside the ring, Funk whips Candido into the corner, and delivers the 10-count punch, with the fans counting along. Funk then whips Candido into the opposite corner, and as Candido staggers out of the corner, Funk charges and drops him with a Lariat. Funk gets a nearfall, but Candido somehow manages to get a shoulder up.

Funk picks Candido up, and cinches him up for the Piledriver, but Candido manages to block it, and delivers a backdrop instead. Candido stomps Funk a few times, then goes to the top rope! Candido jumps off the top rope with his New Jersey Jam legdrop . . . but Funk rolls out of the way at the last second!

Funk recovers enough to crawl over and hook Candido’s leg. Referee Dave Hebner starts his count . . .

After the match, CHRIS CRUISE climbs into the ring to interview Funk on his hard-fought victory. As Funk is talking, someone makes their way down the ramp to the ring . . .



IT’S JEFF JARRETT!!!

JARRETT climbs into the ring, and asks for the microphone from Chris Cruise. Cruise relunctantly gives him the mic.

JARRETT says that he just wants to congratulate Funk on his win, and offers his hand, which Funk shakes.

JEFF talks about what he’s doing here, saying he was held down by the WWF. Despite the fact that he was the greatest Intercontinental Champion off ALL-TIME, he was never given the opportunity to challenge for the WWF title. He says that he left New York and came to Canada, because his dream is to be World Heavyweight Champion, to hold the World Title of the most prestigious wrestling organization that’s ever existed.

JARRETT puts Funk over as a great Champion, and then politely asks for a title match.

FUNK takes the mic, and says that he’d love to wrestle someone as talented as Jarrett, but as far as defending the title against him, it’s up to the Championship Committee, and he says that Jarrett would have to work his way up to title contention.

JARRETT nods, and then offers his hand again. Funk shakes his hand, but this time, Jarrett sucker punched the Champion! Jarrett tossed Funk out onto the ramp, then followed him out. After stomping him a few times, Jarrett picks Funk up . . . and DROPS HIM WITH A PILEDRIVER ON THE RAMP!!!

JARRETT grabs a chair from the floor, climbs back up onto the ramp, and repeatedly hits Funk with the chair, as Funk lays motionless on the wooden ramp. Finally the babyface locker room empties and several wrestlers chase Jarrett off!


CRUISE and ROUGEAU can’t believe what we just witnessed, and Chris Cruise hopes that we can get an update on the condition of the World Champion on next week’s show. He quickly hypes next week’s show before signing off.

The show opens with footage of JEFF JARRETT making his shocking debut last week, where he attacked World Champ Terry Funk.




CHRIS CRUISE opens the show from the broadcast location, and introduces his co-host, RAYMOND ROUGEAU.

CRUISE and ROUGEAU welcome us to historic Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Ontario for another exciting episode of NWA TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION WRESTLING!

This week . . . Timothy Well and Steven Dunn, collectively known as Well Dunn, make their return to Canada, as each of them will be in singles action . . . Brutus Beefcake will be in action . . . King Kong Bundy meets Johnny Gunn . . . Pierre Rougeau, Ray’s cousin, will be in action against the Warlord . . . a new tag team on the scene, from the foothills of the Canadian rockies, the Cowboys, Rick Casey and Lance Cassidy, will face the Heavenly Bodies . . . and in the main event, it’s the other semi final match of the British Commonwealth title tournament, with the winner going on to meet Unabomb at Saturday Night Supercade on September 7.

CRUISE and ROUGEAU talk about the British Commonwealth semi final match. Reigning TV Champion Chris Candido will meet this man . . .

Ultimate Warrior Custom Entrance Video

THE UUUUUUULLLLLTIMATE WARRIOR!!!!


WARRIOR comes out and cuts a promo on facing Candido in the British Commonwealth title tournament. Warrior’s promo is a tad bit more coherent than we’re used to, but not by much.

VS.

MATCH #1:
STEVEN DOLL (w/ Timothy Well) beats VIRGIL. Virgil gives Dunn all he can handle here, and uses his boxing skills to his advantage. After stunning Dunn with a flurry of jabs, Virgil runs the ropes, but Timothy Well trips him from the floor. When Virgil gets up, he turns his attention to Well at ringside, allowing Dunn to roll Virgil up, and with his feet on the ropes, Dunn gets the 1, 2, 3!

After the decision is announced, Virgil goes after Dunn, who wisely bails out of the ring and then taunts Virgil from the ramp.


We see a vignette of the Cowboys, RICK CASEY and LANCE CASSIDY. We see them working at a ranch, and during a cattle drive. Casey says that the National Wrestling Alliance is the pinnacle of professional wrestling, it’s the one promotion that everyone in this sport wants to be a part of. Cassidy talks about facing the Heavenly Bodies in their first NWA match, and says that the Bodies are a tough team, but he and Casey are tougher.

STAN LANE is backstage with JEFF JARRETT. Lane asks Jarrett why he did what he did last week.

JARRETT says that he came to the NWA for one reason, and one reason only, to fulfill his destiny and become the World Heavyweight Champion. He was backstage, signing his NWA contract, and he decided that there was no better time to make his debut and make his intentions known.

JEFF says that he asked Funk, like a man, to give him a shot at the title, to prove that he’s a fighting Champion, and what did Funk do? He brushed Jeff off, he said he wasn’t in line for a title shot! Him, Jeff Jarrett, the greatest wrestler the World has ever known, and Funk says he doesn’t deserve a title shot? Who the hell does that washed up old bastard think he is?

JEFF then chuckles to himself, and says that Funk himself did the very same thing 7 years ago in the Carolinas, when Ric Flair refused to give Funk a shot at the title. Back then, Funk had a fire within him, he had the eye of the tiger, and he knew what it took to get the job done. Now, Funk’s resting on his laurels, and he’s lost his edge. It’s time for Funk to step aside and make room for the future of the National Wrestling Alliance, JEFF JARRETT!

VS.

MATCH #3:
KING KONG BUNDY beats JOHNNY GUNN. Gunn uses his speed to his advantage, using a hit-and-run style against the monster Bundy. It works well for him in the early going, but once Bundy gets ahold of him, things go downhill quickly for Gunn. Bundy tosses Gunn around like a ragdoll, and hits the Atlantic City Avalanche to put Gunn down for the 1, 2, 3.


CHRIS CRUISE and RAY ROUGEAU talk about the next match, featuring Ray’s cousin, Pierre Rougeau. Ray puts Pierre over, saying that the young man just might be the most talented of all the Rougeau’s, and that includes Ray himself.

VS.

MATCH #4:
PIERRE ROUGEAU beats THE WARLORD. After a wild brawl, Pierre gets the win after hitting Warlord with three consecutive running clotheslines, then Pierre goes to the top rope and hits the Cannonball for the 1, 2, 3.

STAN LANE hosts a Control Centre segment. Lane talks about SATURDAY NIGHT SUPERCADE, coming up in two weeks time, on Saturday night, September 7 from GM Place in Vancouver, BC. The show will air live on TSN!

LANE runs down the full line-up:

* The show will open with a 12-man Battle Royal, featuring some of the biggest names in wrestling, like King Kong Bundy, Well Dunn, the Acadian giant, Pierre Rougeau, and many more.

* A new team in the NWA, High Voltage, consisting of Kenny Kaos and Robbie Rage, will face the Fantastics.

* The Canadian Titan, from Calgary, Alberta, will take on the Warlord.

* Another giant, the neary 7’ tall Acadian Giant will face Steven Dunn.

* The Steiner Brothers will defend the World Tag Team titles against the Heavenly Bodies.

* NWA Champion Terry Funk will defend the title.

* The Finals of the British Commonwealth title tournament will take place, as Unabomb will face the winner of tonight’s Ultimate Warrior vs Chris Candido match.




As we come back from the Control Centre segment, Chris Cruise says that something’s going on backstage, and they’ve sent a camera man to the back to check it out.


Backstage, we see TERRY FUNK brawling with JEFF JARRETT! The two men brawl all over the place, and hit each other with everything they can get their hands on, before security personnel pull them apart!


CRUISE and ROUGEAU talk about what we just saw, and say that Jeff Jarrett may have made a huge mistake, picking a fight with the World Champ.

VS.

MATCH #5:
THE HEAVENLY BODIES (Tom Prichard & Jimmy Del Ray) beat THE COWBOYS (Rick Casey & Lance Cassidy). These two teams give the fans a great match, it’s fast-paced from bell to bell. Casey and Cassidy work well together, and come close to winning the match on several occasions. In the end, though, it’s the Heavenly Bodies who get their hands raised, after Casey went to the top rope, preparing to jump off onto a prone Jimmy Del Ray, when Tom Prichard shook the ropes, causing Casey to fall and crotch himself on the top turnbuckle.

From there, Del Ray recovers, and suplexes Casey off the top rope, then hits a Moonsault on Casey for the pinfall.

Prichard takes the house mic from Gary Michael Cappetta, and tells the Steiner Brothers that they’re coming for them next Saturday night in Vancouver!

MATCH #6
NWA BRITISH COMMONWEALTH TITLE TOURNAMENT, SEMI FINALS:
THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR beats CHRIS CANDIDO. Candido’s TV title is not on the line in this match. Warrior tears into Candido to start, but a well-placed thumb to the eye by Candido stops the Warrior in his tracks. Candido takes Warrior down to the mat, and works him over, but the advantage is short-lived. Warrior fights his way back to his feet, then whips Candido into the ropes, bounces off the opposite ropes, and drops Candido with a running clothesline. From there, the Warrior picks Candido up, then presses him over his head, and tosses Candido to the mat.

The Warrior then runs the ropes, and as Candido gets to his feet, Warrior launches at him with a flying shoulderblock! With Candido flat on his back on the mat, Warrior runs the ropes again, and delivers the Splash for the 1, 2, 3!

The Ultimate Warrior has advanced to the finals of the British Commonwealth title tournament, and he’ll face Unabomb for the title next Saturday night at Saturday Night Supercade, live on TSN!


CRUISE and ROUGEAU wrap things up, and recap what we saw on tonight’s show. Cruise quickly hypes next week’s show before signing off.
