5/1/96 - The ARCO Arena Sacramento, CA"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to the ARCO Arena in Sacremento, California for another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling! Just one night before ECW's big Pay Per View event Hardcore Heaven '96! They then briefly recap last week's show where everyone seemed to be brawling with everyone as William Regal and the Four Horsemen squared off with their Hardcore Heaven opponents The Dark Circle, "Macho Man" Randy Savage attacked Papa Shango, Junkyard Dog chased Dick Murdoch off with a steel chair; and in the final assault of the evening ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude layed out the man he'll defend the Title against tomorrow night "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Must've been a full moon Okerlund surmises. Lanny however didn't see any werewolves.
They then hype tonight's huge show which will see "Macho Man" Randy Savage in action as well as the new ECW Light Heavyweight Champion Aryan von Raschke! They then inform us that Aryan won the Title this past Saturday on ECW Weekend Warriors. Check your local listings! All that and more tonight...Also Sprach Zarathustra then hits and out from the back comes "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair who has the Four Horsemen with him! He doesn't look too happy as he tells us all how last week he shut up that clown "The Ring Master" Matt Borne when he made him tap out to the figure four. And that would've been that. But into the ring, Flair was hit by a cheap shot! By that fraud of a Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude! A man with no style! No class! And unfit to wear the Eastern Heavyweight Title! But there he was at the end of last week's show putting his salacious, probably deceased hands on his betters, on his superior; an indisputable God of this sport! Well that's alright because he'll get his just due tomorrow. No it's not! Because "The Nature Boy" don't wanna wait until tomorrow baby! He wants to take Rude to chop city tonight! He wants to style on that smug face! He wants to profile all over that supposed perfect form! Cause he's gonna tear that dumb moustache off Rude's face and wear it before he's done! Cause he's "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and...!"White Train" by Tito & Tarantula then hits and out from the back swaggers ECW President Eric Bischoff! He asks Flair to calm down before he blows a blood vessel. That there's no need to go any further because while Eric can't give Ric "The Ravishing One" one on one tonight; he's decided to schedule a little Main Event he thinks Flair is gonna like. In one corner will be "The Nature Boy Ric Flair and Barry Windham! And in the other with be a man he knows Windham wants to get his hands on. The Eastern States Champion Lord William Regal!... and the ECW Champion Rick Rude! And if Flair's team wins he'll give Barry that shot at the Eastern States Championship he wants so bad!
Ric Flair then says he has only one thing to say about that! Woooo! Barry Windham then gets on the microphone and tells Regal or Brimstone, whoever is holding the Eastern States Title after Hardcore Heaven. He don't care who it is. But they'd better be ready. Because they have a date with 300 lb. Texan in their future!Joel Gertner makes the intros for the first match of the night.Match: Randy Savage vs. Mongo Vyle w/ Rhino & Papa ShangoReferee: S.D. Jones Randy Savage would have a pretty tough time with the big "Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle on any given day, but the added and constant interferece by Rhino and "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango who occasionally menaces Debbie Combs makes a bad situation worse. Mongo capitalizes on this, getting nearfalls off the Mongo Masher sitout full nelson atomic drop, a spinning side slam; and a standing splash! Savage however hangs in there and..."White Train" by Tito & Tarantula hits! And out from the back swaggers ECW President Eric Bischoff! He says that he's had enough of what's been going on and to make sure Hardcore Heaven '96 goes off without a hitch; he's ejecting "The Soul Stealer" and "The Man-Beast" from the building! All three members of The Dark Circle are pissed and complaining when out from the back comes "The Rugged One" Ronnie Garvin! Shango and Rhino swat Garvin and his security team away as they storm up the ramp. Randy Savage however is loving it! He rallies the fans who cheer the decision when Mongo Vyle grabs him from behind, kicks him in the gut and connects with a cutter! And Vyle goes for the win! 1!... 2!...
Savage kicks out! Mongo keeps on top of him, but the "Macho Man" begins rallying back! And despite Vyle's best efforts he is soon back on his feet swinging! He hammers Mongo's head into all four ring corners before whipping him across the ring and connects with the running high knee into the corner! Mongo stumbles forward and bulldog! Savage plants him! Randy then signals that he's going up top and launching himself into the air hits the Savage elbow drop! "Macho Man" hooks the leg and picks up the win! He's busy posing for the fans as ECW goes to...Back from break The Baron Von Raschke is in front of the ECW banner with his son and new ECW Light Heavy\weight Champion Aryan von Raschke! They brag about his defeat of the imecilic Cousin Jamie this past Saturday on Weekend Warriors and say that it's proof yet again that the fighting men of The Republic of Germany are made of stouter stuff than that of the typical redneck Americans!Match: Aryan von Raschke vs. Joe E. LegendReferee: Danny Davis Aryan von Raschke makes fairly short work of Joe E. Legend even with Sexton Hardcastle at ringside. He takes him out with the Sieg Heil! superkick for the win before showing off his new Title for the booing crowd.Match: Dick Murdoch vs. Jimmy CiceroReferee: S.D. Jones Jimmy Cicero gets some offense in against "Captain Redneck," but the match soon dissolves into Dick Murdoch using the younger grappler as a punching bag before finishing him off with a Brain Buster. After the match "Another One Bites the Dust" hits and out from the back comes the Junkyard Dog! He has a mic in hand and out on the ramp says the "Captain" has nothing to worry about this week. That JYD wants him, but he wants him in the ring with no way out. He wants to put a world of hurting on Dick Murdoch and he won't be satisfied until he's defeated him cleanly and decisively! Which is why he's had himself a little talk with ECW President Eric Bischoff who's granted them a match at Hardcore Heaven '96! And it won't just be any match. Oh, no. JYD don't want Murdoch running away again. So tomorrow night on Pay Per-View they'll be having a good ol' time! In a Dog Collar Match! JYD starts barking and dancing a bit, but Murdoch doesn't look happy with this turn of events at all."Mean" Gene and Lanny welcome us back from the break before reminding us that next week's show will be coming to us live from the Tucson Convention Center in Tucson, Arizona! And while tickets for that show are sold out for that event, those folks at home should be sure and tune in right here on ECW's home station of TNN The Nashville Network! But first be sure to tune in tomorrow night on May 2nd when ECW comes to Pay Per-View for their latest big event; Hardcore Heaven! They then send us to the ECW Hardcore Heaven '96 Control Center with... ECW President Eric Bischoff and the Honky Tonk Man! He says that they have an exciting show line up for us tomorrow night and he's got the 411! He then runs down the matches!"Macho Man" Randy Savage will fight "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango in a Hell in the Cell Match! With the loser not eligible for a Title shot for a full year!
In a big 6-Man brawl "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson will lead Tully Blanchard and Barry Windham against the forces of Destruction Inc. and "The Ring Master" Matt Borne when The Four (or is it three) Horsemen take on The Dark Circle in a Tornado Tag Match!
Eastern States Champion Lord William Regal will also be in action when he defends his Title against the man who took the Title from him back at King of the Mountain; "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone! And to make sure there's no outside interference in this one; ECW Head of Security "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin will be the special guest referee!
Also just signed the Junkyard Dog will be looking for his pound of flesh as he faces off with him former Tag-Team partner "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch in a Dog Collar Match!
The Women's Championship will also be on the line as "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore faces the luchadoress Tiffany in a Ladder Match!
And in a match just signed, the Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer will put their Titles on the line against "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit and Bobby Starr in a Hardcore Match!
Finally, and this is the big one; the ECW Championship will be on the line as "Ravishing" Rick Rude battles it out with "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Seven amazing matches for the low, low price of $14.95! So parents go bug your kids to order the most exciting PPV of the year ECW Hardcore Heaven '96! Call your local cable provider today!Tag-Team Match: Arn & Tully w/ Windham vs. Matt Borne & Rhino w/ Pogo the Clown & Mongo VyleReferee: Danny DavisArn Anderson starts things off with off with Rhino in this match that serves as a bit of a preview to Hardcore Heaven. Okerlund thought Rhino was banned from the building and Lanny reminds him that Eric is no "Genius" and spoke a bit hastily when he threw "The Man-Beast" out earlier in the evening forgetting about this match-up. Good thing he returned to, because Rhino looks damned impressive as he battles it out back and forth with "The Enforcer" whom he nearly puts away with a superplex off the top! After this Arn is looking to tag out but Rhino tags in Matt Borne and they cut off the ring. Rhino and Borne work Anderson over a bit before he finally manages to escape after nailing Rhino with a quick DDT! And makes the hot tag!
Tully Blanchard comes into swinging and nearly picks up and early win with the slingshot suplex on the dazed Rhino. He dominates the younger man for a bit before making a mistake and gets hit with The Gore striking spear! Blanchard is in a bit of trouble when Matt Borne gets tagged in, but slides out of "The Ring Master's" running powerbomb to the corner turnbuckle and mounts a comeback! He takes the fight to Borne, working him over when Mongo Vyle looks to get involved! Arn Anderson however is quick to enter the ring and drops Vyle with a spinebuster! Tully Blanchard meanwhile hits Matt Borne hard with a Piledriver and picks up the big win for the Four Horsemen here tonight!
Just then however Rhino, Vyle; and Pogo the Clown hit the ring! Arn and Tully look to be in trouble for a bit before Ric Flair and Barry Windham run down the ramp and even the odds! The two teams continue to brawl as ECW goes to...After the break the announcers replay a bit of what happened during the break where we see Ronnie Garvin show up with his security team and break it all up. We learn that all members of The Dark Circle who were involved in the brawl have now also been ejected from the building! As have Tully and Arn! Bischoff seems to really be tired of all the craziness here at ECW of late.Match: Yoshihiro Tajiri vs. Prince Nana Obei BandohReferee: S.D. Jones Lanny Poffo brings up the fact referee S.D. Jones teamed up with Prince Nana recently and declares this an unfair advantage. Osei Bandoh however receives no special treatment as he takes the fight right to "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri whom he hits with several body avalanches in the corner and a double underhook DDT! As impressive as the Ashanti Prince looks however, Yoshihiro Tajiri gives better than he gets, hitting the handspring back elbow, two hurrcancanranas, a flip-over DDT; and even treats Bandoh to some time in the Tarantula! Yoshihiro Tajiri picks up the win over Prince Nana when his opponent runs face first into the Buzzsaw Kick! It's lights out for Nana while Tajiri celebrates with his manager Mr. Fuji and shoots green mist into the air. After the match we're taken backstage where "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit is standing by in his sunglasses and trenchcoat with Bobby Starr and ECW Correspondent Terri Runels whom he talks to about his upcoming Tag-Team Title match at Hardcore Heaven '96! They're interrupted by Starr however who just wants to thank Chris for choosing him to be his tag-team partner. It's a great honor! Benoit just grins coldly before walking off.Match: Bobby Starr w/ Chris Benoit vs. Erin O'GradyReferee: Danny Davis Bobby Starr comes down to the ring with his new friend Chris Benoit. Starr looks a bit nervous as "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady comes down to the ring tossing his gold coins to the crowd from his cauldron. With good reason it seems as he gets in little offense while Erin beats the stuffing out of Bobby and nearly pins him with the Lucking Charm double underhook implant DDT. "The Canadian Crippler" however grabs O'Grady by the legs and pulls him outside! Erin braces himself for a pounding when Benoit backs off however, getting a warning from Davis. As Erin re-enters the ring however, Chris reaches in and trips up Davis who hits the ground while Chris Benoit rushes into the ring and grabbing "The Leprechaun" from behind nails him with a German Suplex! He rolls out as Davis brushes himself off and gets to his feet. Bobby Starr is quick to make the cover and picks up the big win! He celebrates a bit and goes outside to do the same with Benoit, but Chris smacks him in the back of the head before leading him to the back.Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's Main Event which looks to be a teaser of ECW Hardcore Heaven '96 as ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude teams with Eastern States Champ Lor William Regal against the man who will be challenging Rude for the belt "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and Barry Windham! Windham of course has had his sights set on the Eastern States Championship and has been guaranteed a shot at Regal's Title if he and Flair can pull of the win here tonight! Also Sprach Zarathustra then hits and out from the back comes...
Gertner: The following Tag-Team match is scheduled for one fall and is tonight's Main Event! Introducing first at a combined weight of 523 lbs.; they are "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and Barry Windham!
The two Horsemen head down to the ring and Flair shows off for the crowd a bit until Rude's strip theme hits.
Gertner: And introducing their opponents this evening weighing a combined 491 lbs. they are the Eastern States Champion Lord William Regal and the ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude!Tag-Team Main Event: Ric Flair & Barry Windham vs. Rick Rude & William RegalReferee: S.D. Jones William Regal starts things off with Barry Windham and there's little wrestling early on as the two men brawl about the ring with Windham taking the Eastern States Champ down to the mat with a clothesline for a quick two count. From there Barry takes over for a big, hoistint Regal to his feet and batters him about a bit before applying a headlock which he transitions into a sleeper hold. Lord William isn't having it however and battles out before taking Windham down with a snapmare and trapping him in a double chickenwing while grinding his knee into the Horseman's back. Barry eventually fights his way up to his feet and kicking Regal in the gut drops him with a scoop slam! The two men battle back and forth with Regal getting a two count following a Knee Trembler running knee lift to Windham's head; but when he gets hit by a leaping lariat from Windham, Regal makes the tag to Rick Rude!
Rude comes in swinging and the two men get a good back and forth going, but Ric Flair is anxious for the tag and he gets it! Together the duo hit Rude with a double DDT and Flair makes the cover! 1!... 2!
Rude kicks out and Flair is in full control, chopping and knee dropping his opponent as he struts about the ring! He keeps on Rick for a while, before locking in the figure four leglock! Rude screams, then grits his teeth in pain as he fights to the ropes! And he reaches them before using them for the leverage he needs to flip Ric over reversing it! Flair cries out in pain and beats the mat and he attempts to fight out! Rude gets in trouble for holding the ropes however and Barry Windham runs in with a stomp to make the save! He continues to stomp the ECW Champ out while Flair hops about the ring and William Regal comes to his partner's aide! He and Windham slug it out while Ric Flair comes back to Rude and pulls him up to his feet before jabbing him in the eyes! Referee S.D. Jones is too busy getting Windham and Regal out of the ring to see the low blow that follows! Rude drops like a sack of bricks and makes the cover! It takes Jones a while to start the count.
And he only gets to two! Ric is a crazy man as he turns ten shades of red stomping Rude out before stagger/strutting out into the ring and letting out a Wooo! He then goes for the figure four again! But Rick Rude kicks him in the face and getting to his feet hammers his opponent with a DDT! Rick Rude makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
3! Rick Rude and William Regal have won it! Barry Windham is pissed and has a few heated words with Flair before catches Regal off guard with a clothesline! Barry Windham then turns his attention to Rick Rude and hits him with the same! Ric Flair is now back up and he gets his hands on the ECW Title which he holds over the downed Rude shouting how the ECW Title is his! It belongs to "The Nature Boy!" Woooo!
Lights Fade.

He then thanks us again for coming before turning the microphone over to Joel Gertner who makes the intros for the first match of the night.
Gertner: The following Contest is scheduled for one fall and under Falls Count Anywhere Rules can be won by Pinfall or Submission only. At this time we'd like to introduce the special guest referee for this match; from Montreal, Quebec, Canada; he is "The Rugged One" Ronnie Garvin!Garvin heads down to the ring in a ref's uniform and gets a good ovation from the crowd. The lights then go out and mist fills the arena while voodoo drums play. On the ramp appears the man known only as Brimstone.Gertner: Introducing at this time the challenger, ascending from the Darkest Reaches of Hell and weighing 290 lbs. he is "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone! Brimstone plodes down to the ring where he is cheered and booed at the same time. The British national anthem then plays.
Gertner: And now introducing at this time weighing 240 lbs. from Blackpool, England; he is the Eastern States Champion Lord William Regal!Eastern States Title Anywhere Falls Match: William Regal vs. Brimstone w/ Garvin as Special Guest Referee Lord William Regal removes his robe and his Championship belt before handing it to referee Ronnie Garvin. But Brimstone moves in and grabs the belt from the ref! And he belts Regal with it! The man from Blackpool goes down hard as Brimstone continues to assault him with the Title until "The Rugged One" grabs it away from him! Undaunted, Brimstone makes the cover and a reluctant Garvin starts the count! 1!... 2!...
3! Regal kicks out! There's some arguing between Ronnie and "The Dark Prophet;" but it appears Ron is saying Regal kicks out in time! Brimstone looks pissed and begins tossing William about the ring before hurling him out through the ropes to the floor below! He then cockily wipes off his hands and climbs out onto the apron, but he gets shoved from behind?!
Brimstone bounces off the steel guardrail before looking wide-eyed up at Ronnie Garvin who's looking rather pleased with himself! Brimstone makes a throat slashing gesture before pulling Regal up to his feet and drops the Champ onto the steel guard rail! He does it again before hurling him over it into the audience! He climbs over, but this time gets a surprise from the Eastern States Champ himself who lets Brimstone have it with a steel chair over the head! And the big man crotches himself on the merciless steel! And Regal hits him with the chair again! And moving an unfolded chair into position, Regal grabs his opponent and DDTs him into it! And he makes the cover! Garvin is there with a quick count! 1! 2!
Brimstone kicks out! 3! Okerlund says that Brimstone's head must be made of solid concrete, but as he staggers to his feet we can see "The Dark Prophet" has been busted open! Blood trickles down his face as William Regal charges him and knocks him over the steel barricade with the Champ coming along for the ride! They're both down for a bit, but Lord William is up first and climbing on top of his opponent begins hammering away! Brimstone however blocks several shots before throwing Regal off of him! William is right back up and charges right into a big boot! Hung over the guardrail, Brimstone staggers over and grabbing him by the head slams him face first into it before whipping him hard into the steel ring post! Plodding over Brimstone lets Regal have it with several stomps before picking him up against the steel post and rams him into it with several shoulder thrusts! Regal spits up blood before getting out of dodge and Brimstone's own momentum sends him shoulder first into the post!
William Regal is too injured to capitalize however and wandering over to the announcer's table grabs a tv monitor off it and returning to Brimstone smashes it over his head! Brimstone falls back on his ass and Regal yanks him to his feet before whipping him into the announcer's table sending Gene and Lanny running! Poffo says this is why ECW should have a Spanish announcer's table. Regal meanwhile sets Brimstone up on it and is setting him up for the double underhook Regal Bomb! But Brimstone smacks him away and grabbing Regal by the throat, chokeslams him through the table they're both standing on! Both men are down again, but Brimstone gets to a seated position and hooks Regal's leg! Garvin makes the count! 1!... 2!...
Regal kicks out! Brimstone can't believe it and neither can anyone else! The Eastern States Champ isn't moving, but he's hung in there. Brimstone gets to his feet with some effort and grabbing him military presses Regal into the air before yelling at the people in the front row! They take him seriously and get out of there before he throws Regal onto the chairs! He craches to the gound and Okerlund says they should stop the match! Brimstone then grabs the steel barricade and waits as William Regal staggers to his feet. "The Dark Prophet" then launches himself over the guardrail with a slingshot clothesline that connects and sends more chairs flying! It's madness in San Diego as he makes another cover!
Only to have Regal kick out again! Brimstone is looking frustrated as he begins kicking Regal while he's down, knocking him through the crowd! William Regal is on the run when he grabs a beer from a fan he passes and hurls it at Brimstone! The big man is temporarily blinded while Regal goes fishing in his boots and produces the brass knuckles! And he begins hammering away on Brimstone with them! Now it's "The Dark Prophet" who's backpeddling as Regal doesn't let up, hitting the big man with hard lefts and rights! He beats him back to the guard rail where he kicks Brimstone in the guy before letting him have it with a European uppercut that sends Brimstone tumbling over it! Jumping over the barricade, Regal connects with a knee drop on the challenger before William Regal grabs a steel chair and putting Brimstone's leg through it locks in a single leg Boston Crab! The big man screams in pain and attempts to fight it; but he ends up tapping! William Regal has retained the Eastern States Championship! Garvin raises his hand in victory before leading the battered and bloody Regal to the back.
Lanny and Gene are happy when a new announcer's table is brought out and Poffo hopes that this won't be like the last Hardcore Heaven where the entire roster seemed to have a vendetta against him. They then congratulate William Regal on one hell of a victory against Brimstone whom he's been feuding against since he beat Regal for the belt back at King of the Mountain. "The Genius" doubts Brimstone will take this loss lying down.
They then hype the next match in which the two competitor's have had a seeming blood feud against one another also stemming back to King of the mountain where "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch eliminated his own tag-team partner the Junkyard Dog. Since then the two men have violently attacking one another both inside and outside the ring with Murdoch going so far as attempting to hang The Dog a couple week's ago on ECW Weekend Warriors. Inside the ring JYD has often been the victor, but has failed yet to pin the wily Murdoch; who's bailed several times when the goings got tough. Tonight however he'll have nowhere to run to as Dick Murdoch faces Junkyard Dog in a Dog Collar Match!
Gertner: The following Contest is a Dog Collar Match and can only be won by Pinfall. Introducing first from Waxahachie, Texas weighing 288 lbs. "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch!
Murdoch is booed pretty much unanymously as he waves his hat to the crowd while wearing his "Junkyard Dog History Month" t-shirt. Inside the ring referee Danny Davis refuses to shake his hand. "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen then plays and Junkyard Dog comes out on the ramp rattling his chain while barking for the crowd.
Gertner: And now introducing his opponent this evening weighing 280 lbs. from Wadesboro, North Carolina he is JYD The Junkyard Dog!Dog Collar Grudge Match: Dick Murdoch vs. Junkyard DogMatch: Danny Davis Junkyard Dog gets a good reaction from the fans as he poses in the ring. Danny Davis then puts the collars about their necks while explaining the rules and Gene tells us that JYD requested this match tonight be won by Pinfall only after being denied a clean victory over Murdoch since their feud started. Dick Murdoch doesn't seem to like being chained to the Dog however and keeps his distance early on, attempting to outmaneuver Junkyard Dog. Finally JYD gets his hands on "Captain Redneck" and pounds the hell out of him. He hits Dick with a hard right that sends him spinning into the corner where JYD hammers his head into the top turnbuckle several times before letting his opponent drop to the floor. JYD then barks victorious for the crowd!
When Dick Murdoch yanks the chain hard! And pulls JYD down to the floor by his neck! Back up to his feet Dick begins stomping his former ally out and lets him have it with a knee drop! Staying on the floor he turns JYD over and begins gouging his eyes. Only to have Junkard return the favor! The two men roll about the ring a bit throwing the odd punch before Junkyard ends up on top of things and taking the chain in his hands begins stangling Dick Murdoch! Okerlund reminds us that Hardcore Heaven is the one night of the year in ECW where there's no DQ in any of the matches. And at this moment he wouldn't have it any other way. Murdoch however reaches the ropes and Danny Davis does his best to get Junkyard to relent. But before he fully does, Dick lets JYD have it with a headbutt to the face causing blood to gush from Junkyard's nose! The Dog just gets more pissed by this and comes chasing after "Captain Redneck" who's trying to catch his breath.
Dick Murdoch gets up on his hands and knees begging Junkyard Dog off! JYD hesitates and Murdoch connects with a low blow! And scooping the big man off his feet lays Junkyard Dog flat with a brainbuster! And he makes the cover! 1!... 2!....
3! Dick Murdoch has won it?! He don't look like a winner as beaten up as he looks and Danny Davis removes his dog collar. He's about to leave the ring when he decides he isn't down and grabs the chain that's still attacked to JYD's neck! But Junkyard Dog who's already up on one knee quickly grabs "Captain Redneck" in a sideheadlock and punches him in the face! As Dick staggers back Junkyard gets to his feet and clobbers him with a vicious headbutt before laying him out with the Thump! front powerslam! The fans begin to cheer and Junkyard Dog rattles his chain, dances; and barks for the crowd over Dick Murdoch who's out cold.
While JYD is busy celebrating "Mean" Gene and Lanny hyp the next match of the night which will see the Tag-Team Titles on the line as ECW Tag Champs "The American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes and "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer defend the Titles against Dreamer's rival "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit and his hand-picked partner Bobby Starr. Lanny Poffo is kind've insulted Benoit didn't pick him and Okerlund tells him he shouldn't be. It just means Lanny isn't an idiot. "Of course not," Lanny deadpans. "I'm a Genius." Okerlund rolls his eyes.
Gertner: The following Tag-Team Championship match is scheduled for one fall and can only be won by Pinfall or Submission. Under Hardcore Rules there is No DQ! Introducing first at a combined 472 lbs. the challengers; "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit and Bobby Starr!
The two men come out on the ramp and Starr is now sporting Chris Benoit style shades which "The Crippler" takes off him and throws into the crowd. Gertner: And now introuducing their opponent this even weighing a combined 488 lbs. they are the ECW Tag-Team Champions "The American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes and "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer!Hardcore Tag-Team Championship Match: Tommy Dreamer & Dustin Rhodes (c) vs. Chris Benoit & Bobby StarrMatch: S.D. Jones Tommy Dreamer is in his neckbrace still, but Dustin Rhodes is looking alright as he starts things off with Bobby Starr who's getting a talking to from Chris Benoit who ends up starting the match instead! Benoit and Rhodes immediately lock things up and the match gets under way. Getting the early drop on Chris, Dustin hammers him into the corner and takes him down with a snapmare which he transitions into a sleeper hold! Okerlund puts Rhodes' sleeper hold over as the best in the business and it certainly looks like it, though Lanny complains it's also putting him to sleep. Chris Benoit however has no quit in him and rallies back chopping the hell out of Dustin in the corner before whipping him into the opposing corner and lets him have it with a running forearm smash! Knocking him into the corner, Benoit hammers him down to the canvas before dragging him into the center of the ring and going up top connects with the flying headbutt! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!..
And Tommy Dreamer breaks it up! With a singapore cane over Benoit's back! And he's not done either. He keeps letting Benoit have it until suddenly the cane is snatched away from him? Dreamer is wide-eyed as he turns and finds himself face to face with...
Bobby Starr?! Starr attempts to talk his way out of it and Dreamer stalks him back into the ropes. Dustin Rhodes meanwhile is back up on his feet and is working over Benoit whom he sits in the corner and running straight at him connects with a kick to the groin! Lanny tells us that blow was as low as Dreamer's IQ while Okerlund reminds us that being a Hardcore match that move is totally legal. Though he doesn't condone it one bit. While "The Crippler" clutches at his groin and rolls out of the ring, Dustin Rhodes pulls out his flask and offers some to Dreamer who leaves Starr alone. When he goes to take a sip however Bobby charges Tommy from behind! This pisses off Dreamer who quickly hoists him up onto his shoulders and powerslams him to the mat. Tommy leaves the ring while Dustin Rhodes make the cover and it's over! 1!... 2!...
Bobby Starr kicks out?! Tommy seems incredulous, but claps for his opponent out on the apron when suddenly he's yanked off! And Chris Benoit tears into him! Seeing this, Dustin Rhodes quits smacking Bobby around, only to get rolled up from behind! 1!... 2!...
Rhodes kicks out! Benoit meanwhile has whipped Dreamer hard back first into the steel barricade. He then reaches under the ring and pulls out a table! Tommy tries to stop Chris from setting it up, but Benoit smashes "The Innovator's" head into it and he slumps back on his ass. Bobby Starr meanwhile has been gaining some momentum and is taking the fight to Dustin Rhodes! Lanny says this is what he gets for drinking in the ring, but Okerlund puts Starr over as a talented and underrated wrestler. Bobby whips Rhodes into the ropes and connects with a dropkick before making a cover that doesn't quite get a two count. Chris Benoit meanwhile has draped Tommy Dreamer over the table and climbs up onto the apron.
When he gets bumped by an incoming Bobby Starr?! Chris grabs the ropes remaining on the apron, but angry with Starr argues with him before grabbing him and hiptossing him over the top rope throws him through Dreamer and the table! Lanny says now that's "Innovative." Using Starr as a weapon. Benoit chuckles to himself before turning back to the ring where he is speared right off the apron and into the steel barricade by Dustin Rhodes, who launches himself out with a tope dive! All four men are down, but it's Dustin who's up first and picking him up he rolls Bobby Starr back into the ring. He then climbs in and Tommy Dreamer hobbles to their corner where he is tagged inside! Then Irish whipping Bobby across the ring, Dustin hits him with a running bulldog which Tommy Dreamer follows up with a leg drop off the top for the three count! And the Tag-Team Champions have retained the Titles!
They celebrate their win and exit the ring while Chris Benoit gets his bearings and begins arguing with S.D. Jones? He's smacking his hand and saying that Starr wasn't the legal man! Jones is apologizing, but claims there's nothing he can do now and Benoit grabs him by the shirt collar and throws him over the top rope to the floor below! "Mean" Gene doesn't want to side with Benoit on anything, but he has a valid problem here. Nither Gene or Lanny saw Starr tagged in either. Bobby Starr meanwhile is back up on his feet and finds himself staring down at Chris Benoit who smacks him down with a chop! And as Bobby picks himself up to his feet "The Canadian Crippler" hits Bobby Starr with not one, not two; but three consecutive German Suplexes!! He then storms off obviously furious. Gene is of course disgusted by this turn of events and paramedics come in to remove the remnants of Bobby Starr from the ring. We're then brought to an advertisement by "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff and The Honky Tonk Man for ECW's Greatest Hits! vol. 6! Back from the break "Mean" Gene and Lanny begins hyping the next match on the card, chronicling the long running feud here in Eastern Championship between "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango. Which is immortalized in part on ECW's Greatest Hits! vol. 6 in stores now! Okerlund call Poffo a shill before continuing on with hyping the next huge match of the night.
They first talk about the history between "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango which stems back to mid-1994 when Shango first emerged on ECW television. He immediately made his presence felt and set his sights on the Eastern Heavyweight Championship which at the time was held by Savage. Their rivalry however didn't seem to really heat up until Shango put his hands on "Macho's" former manager Miss Elizabeth. The two men feuded with Shango earning himself a shot at the ECW Championship; which he got at ECW's PPV Hotter Than Hell on 9/21/94. Savage however got his revenge that night in a brutal Steel Cage match which saw Shango disappear from Eastern Championship TV for over a year! They replay "Macho Man" leaping off the top of the steel cage and landing the Savage Elbow on Papa Shango who was played by Charlese Wright at the time.
That was not the last time Shango was to be seen however as "The Soul Stealer" (now Brickhouse Brown) returned with a vengeance on Halloween Night, October 31st, 1995 attacking then Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude! He went on to win the Title from Rude at Wrestle Annual 2 later in the year and with the new year renewed his old rivalry with the "Macho Man" Randy Savage who once again came looking to reclaim the ECW Championship! This culminated in a Triple Threat match at King of the Mountain between Savage, Shango; and Rude which ended with "The Ravishing One" winning back the belt he lost to Shango two months earlier. Since then both Shango and Savage have made several attempts to win the Title; each time ending at one another's throat and inevitably costing them their chance at the belt. Since King of the Mountain one thing has become abundantly clear, if either man has his way; neither Papa Shango or Randy Savage will ever hold the ECW Championship again!
Which brings us tonight where each man has a chance to end the other's immediate dream of reclaiming the belt once and for all as "Macho Man" Randy Savage will face "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango in a Hell in a Cell Match! The loser of which will be unable to challenge for the ECW Championship for full year! Okerlund and Poffo then tell us that many of our veiwers may not be familiar with the rules of a Hell in a Cell Match and go over them. While they do so, the lights go out and mist fills the arena as voodoo drums pound. And on the ramp appears...
Gertner: The following Hell in a Cell Match is scheduled for one fall and can only be won by Pinfall or Submission! Introducing first from the Bowels of Hell, Delaware weighing 270 lbs. he is "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango!
Shango heads down to the ring as smoke billows from his cauldron which he shakes menacingly at the crowd. Pomp and Circumstance then hits and out from the back comes...
Gertner: And introducing his opponent this evening hailing from Sarasota, Floria and weighing 237 lbs.; "The Macho Man" Randy Savage!Savage heads down to the ring when out from the back Destruction Inc. charges in attacking him from behind! Not seeing them coming, "Macho Man" goes down hard and gets a pretty good pounding, hitting him with the Death Drop flapjack/cutter combo right on the concrete before...Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard; and Barry Windham shows up and begin brawling with the men they'll be facing here later tonight! While this is going on Papa Shango emerges from the cage and picking the battered Savage up to his feet throws him inside before ordering for Danny Davis to lock the cage door! And when he fumbles with the key a bit, Shango snatches it from him, pushes the ref to the floor; and locks it himself!Hell in A Cell Cage Match: Randy Savage vs. Papa ShangoReferee: Danny Davis While the ECW's head of security Ronnie Garvin shows up with his team to stop the brawl at ringside, the match gets underway. Randy Savage doesn't seem to know what's going on as he claws his way to his feet using the ring apron when Papa Shango grabs him by the hair and slams him head first into it! He then rolls his opponent into the ring. Shango obviously delights in stomping Randy out for a bit while the crowd boos. He then stalks his prey in the corner as Savage staggers to his feet and charging in nails him with a neckbreaker! And Papa Shango lets out a chilling war cry!
He continues beating the hell out of Randy before stalking him in the corner and when Savage gets to his feet he lets him have it with a lariat takedown! And he makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Shango stops the count and laughs at the booing crowd before pounding on Randy once again. He calls "The Soul Stealer's actions disgusting. He then pulls Savage up to a seated position and begins smashing his head in! Shango continues dismantling Savage for several minutes, hitting him with a powerslam before whipping him into the ropes! But on the rebound "Macho Man" counters with a jumping corkscrew roundhouse kick!
He's unable to capitalize however and stays down as Papa Shango gets back to his feet and pounds the slowly recovering Randy into the ropes! Papa then rolls out of the ring and grabbing him by the legs viciously crotches him on the steel ringpost! Gene is saying that someone has got to end this before "The Soul Stealer" causes some permanent damage here. Shango then rams his opponent's knee into the steel post and Randy falls out of the ring. Papa Shango wastes some time hamming it up for the crowd while Savage crawls away.
And when he turns back to his opponent, Randy Savage has a steel chair! Which he hurls at Shango! He knocks the witch doctor to the floor and slowly staggering over to him, Randy picks Papa up and slams him into the steel cage! He keeps slamming him into it! Shango attempts to escape, but Randy keeps coming until Shango drops him with a toe hold that sends Randy himself into the cage. Back in control Papa grabs Savage's leg; but Randy kicks him off and down to the ground! The two men brawl about ringside with neither having the clear advantage, when Papa Shango manages to get hold of Savage's legs and slingshots him into the unforgiving steel! And getting to his feet he does it again!
But this time Savage catches himself on the cage and as "The Soul Stealer" charges in he kicks him away before leaping off and nails him with the diving double axe handle! And up on one knee Savage begins wailing on him! He stomps him and rolls Shango into the ring where he pounds on him some more before going for a whip! Which Shango reverses and using "Macho's" one momentum hurls him over the top rope straight into the cage! And as Randy hits the ground we can see he's been busted open!
Papa Shango is down and pushes away referee Danny Davis who's busy checking on Savage. He lifts "Macho" to his feet and rolls him into the ring where he hoists him up to his feet with ill intententions. But Savage grabs him and in desperation hits and inverted atomic drop! Shango doesn't go down however and Randy lets him have it with a big chop! He stumbles after his opponent and makes the comeback! He beats on Papa a bit more before whipping him, no Shango reverses again! But this time on the rebound Savage takes him down hard with a lariat! Both men are down in the middle of the ring. But soon both men have staggered up to their feet when Savage grabs the dazed Shango and hits him with a gutwrench suplex! He's clutching his ribs and stumbling about, but Randy is signalling that he's going up top! He has some trouble getting there, but soon Savage is airborne!
But Shango has rolled out of the way and Randy crashes into the mat! Papa is on the outside and he now has the steel chair "Macho Man" used earlier. And as Randy gets up to his feet, Shango clubs him across the back with it! Randy stumbles toward the ropes and hangs onto them as Papa throws the chair away and stalks him again. Randy falls to the groud and grabbing the top rope Shango jumps and stomps Randy's head! He grinds his boot on Savage's face and cackles with glee. He shouts at the fans and Savage whom he pushes out of the ring with his boot. Then joining him down on the floor he hoists him up onto his shoulders and charging the steel cage nails him with a powerbomb right into it! He then hoists him up for another powerbomb while Randy claws in desperation trying to grab onto the cage, but only gets his back slammed into the steel once again! Shango then continues to pound and kick Savage into the corner of the cage! He's covered in blood as he crawls away from Shango who grabs him by the hair and mocks him. He rolls him into the ring and stalks about again for the booing crowd and Okerlund says that Shango is just plain torturing Savage at this point.
The fans are rallying behind "Macho Man" as he fights his way back up to his feet. But once he gets there Papa Shango grabs him by the hair and... Savage fires first! He begins hammering on Shango whom he knocks to the floor with an elbow smash! Papa gets back up only to be dropped with another clothesline before Savage grabs the steel chair again. And throwing it into Shango's face he connects with a quick dropkick onto the steel chair! And he makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Shango kicks free! Savage doesn't seem to have the energy to get back up and lies exhausted on the floor beside "The Soul Stealer." "Macho Man" is back up first however and he grabs Shango by the head pulled him up to his feet when he gets hit with...
a face full of voodoo mist! Papa Shango looks crazed as he grabs Randy Savage and hoisting him off of his feet sets him up for the Death Valley Driver! And staggers over to the steel chair before hitting it! Papa Shango makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
3! Papa Shango has defeated "Macho Man!" The fans boo as Shango stands victorious in the center of the ring! After the match we're brought to a commercial for the first ever ECW Video Game, Eastern Championship Wrestling for the Super Nintendo and Game Boy! Available at your local Funcoland, Wal-Mart or Kay Bee Toystore today!
Back from the commercial Gene says he's thanful that "Macho Man" Randy Savage was able to leave the ring under his own power. We're shown a clip of Debbie Combs and several paramedics checking on Savage following the match and "Macho Man" getting to his feet where he is helps from the ring by Combs. They then begin hyping the next match of the night which will see legendary Four Horsemen members Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard; and Barry Windham do battle with their ongoing rivals here at ECW, the villainous cabal known as The Dark Circle. They talk about "The Ring Master" Matt Borne's recent success in particular over the Horsemen having pinned both Anderson and Ric Flair on seperate occasions. The Horsemen however have gained back their momentum in recent weeks, scoring a victory over the Dark Circle on ECW Weekend Warriors and this past Saturday where Flair pinned Borne again.
Weird circus music then begins to play as the lights go out and a spotlight pans about the audience, settling on the ramp where "The Ring Master" Matt Borne leads Mongo and Rhino down to the ring.
Gertner: The following Tag-Team contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first weighing a combined 839 lbs. they are the team of "The Ring Master" Matt Borne, "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle; and "The Man-Beast" Rhino!
The Dark Circle storms down to the ring and referee S.D. Jones looks like he wishes he could be anywhere else.
Gertner: And now introducing their opponents this evening at a combined weight of 760 lbs.; they are Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham; and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson; The Four Horsemen!6-Man Tornado Tag-Team Match: The Four Horsemen vs. The Dark Circle (Borne, Rhino; & Vyle)Referee: S.D. Jones As the match gets underway Okerlund and Poffo explains to us that the rest of the Dark Circle and Ric Flair have been banned from ringside due to the nature of the Tornado Tag match. Otherwise this would quickly become an 8 on 4 handicap match. To ensure this doesn't happen, if either team receives outside interference they will be immediately disqualified. Inside the ring S.D. Jones look pretty lost as he does his best just to get out of the way as an all-out brawl ensues.
Arn Anderson squares off with Matt Borne from the get-go while Tully Blanchard locks things up with Rhino; and Barry Windham goes head to head with "The Machiavellan Mauler." They battle inside the ring, outside the ring; and up the ramp when Tully Blanchard hits Rhino with a slingshot suplex inside the ring coming away with a two. Mongo is the next two make a pin attempt when he hits the Mongo Masher sitout full nelson atomic drop on Windham and rolls him into the ring where he barely gets a one count! Okerlund reminds us that while the combatants in this match can fight wherever they like, the pinfall must occur inside the ring, if only to keep the referee sane. Windham pops right back up however and takes Mongo's head off with a lariat! And when Rhino comes charging in to his aide, he gets decapitated by the same and Windham covers him! 1!... 2!
Barry breaks the pin himself to head block go after Mongo Vyle who's charging in to make the save and hits him with a snap powerslam! Arn and Tully meanwhile have layed Matt Borne out with the double spike piledriver on the outside and rolling him into the ring are stopped from making the pin by Rhino who nails Anderson with The Gore striking spear! He and Blanchard then begin pounding on one another and Tully ducking a clothesline from "The Man-Beast," retaliates with one of his own that takes them both over the top rope to the floor below! Arn Anderson meanwhile is back up and trading punches with Matt Borne who knees "The Enforcer" in the gut and hoisting him up off his feet hits him with his parented running powerbomb onto the corner turnbuckle! He then drags him into the center of the ring where he makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Anderson kicks out and though Borne attempts to keep him down with a rear headlock, Arn is rallying back and fighting his way to his feet, hammers away on Borne before whipping him into the ropes and the Spinning Spinebuster connects! Arn Anderson is set to make the cover when he gets clotheslined clear out of his boots!
By Barry Windham?!! He's standing over his own partner as Mongo Vyle drops down to make the cover! Tully Blanchard who just saw everything runs in to make the save, but he gets met half way by Windham who drops him with a lariat! And the Dark Circle has won it!
Mongo, Rhino; and Borne get their hands raised in victory; and after brooding over his fallen allies a bit, Barry Windham joins them! Barry Windham has joined the Dark Circle! Just then the lights go out and mist fills the arena while voodoo drums play. And when the lights return on, the entire Dark Cirlce; Windham included; are gone!
Okerlund is shocked by this turn of events, though Lanny isn't. He says that Flair is a glory hound and is only surprised that all of the Horsemen haven't betrayed "'Naitch." They then discuss the next match-up where ECW Women's Champion "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore is set to defend her Title in a Ladder Match against the Luchadoress Tiffant who earned the right to face her here tonight this past Saturday on ECW Weekend Warriors which while not on this Saturday because of the PPV, will return next week on May 11th at 8pm on ECW's home station of TNN The Nashville Network!
Gertner: The following contest is for the ECW Women's Championship and can only be won by climbing the ladder and retrieving the Title first. Introducing first hailing from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon weighing 150 lbs.; Tiffany!
Tiffany comes down to the ring and poses for the fans.
Gertner: And now introducing her opponent this evening from Dallas, Texas weighing 172 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by "Too Cool" Brian Christopher; she is the ECW Women's Champion "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore!Women's Title Ladder Match: Jacqueline Moore vs. TiffanyReferee: Danny Davis ECW Women's Champ Jacqueline Moore and Tiffany size one another up a bit before locking it up; with "Miss Texas" using her surperior strength to drive her opponent back into the corner. She beats on the luchadoress a bit before Davis breaks it up and the two women lock up once again. This time Jacqueline catches Tiffany in a front headlock before throwing her into the ropes, but the quicker Tiffany reverses and on the rebound leapfrogs Moore before catching the Women's Champ with a dropkick on her return trip! Tiffany fires away with several chops before whipping Jackie across the ring, but as she hits the corner, Moor hops up onto the second rope and comes back with a springboard forearm smash! She then stomps and pounds Tiffany around a bit before attempts to take her head off with a spinning heel kick!
But Tiffany ducks it and grabbing the Champ sets her up for a double underhook sitout facebuster! But Jacqueline fights it and reversing cracks Tiffany with a backbreaker over her knee! Leaving Tiffany inside the ring, Moore goes outside to get the ladder! Tiffany however is back on her feet and chasing her opponent out, attacks her from behind and smashes her face first into the steel barricade! Tiffany then grabs the ladder and heads toward the ring. A pissed off "Miss Texas" however clubs her with a hard right before whipping Tiffany hard into the steel barrier! As Jacqueline Moore goes to get the ladder again however Tiffany climbs into the ring, charges across and springboards from the inside; landing a huge flying crossbody on Moore! Davis checks on the Champ while Tiffany grabs the ladder and throws it into the ring.
And setting it up she begins the climb! And Tiffany reaches the belt! Before being pulled back down by Jackie! The two women begin slugging it out, but Tiffany manages to whip the Champ into the corner and rushing in attempts to send her on a trip with a Monkey Flip! Jacqueline however blocks it and plants Tiffany with a spinebuster! She then heads for the ladder herself! She reaches the belt too! But gets thrown off by Tiffany who then hoists Moore to her feet and tosses her out of the ring! Tiffany looks to be about to climb when she stops and folds up the ladder?! She picks it up and heads over to throw it on top of Jacqueline! But seeing it coming the Women's Champ reaches in and grabs Tiffany causing her to fall back with the ladder on top of her! Jacqueline then pulls Tiffany out of the ring and begins beating on her. She looks like she's up to no good when she sets the ladder up on the outside and begins to climb it; but Tiffany gets back to her feet and pulls Jacqueline off! She runs her over the barricade into the audience!
Tiffany then sets the ladder back up in the middle of the ring only to have Jacqueline Moore run in and climb up the other side of it! Tiffany meets her at the top and the two women beat on one another; but Moore's greater strength wins out again, knocking the luchador from the ladder. Jacqueline however gets to the top and coming down the other side, leaps off hitting Tiffany with a Tornado DDT! She however injures herself a bit when she falls backward onto the bottom of the ladder! Davis comes to check on both women and the match continues.
Both women are back up and the women approach the ladder on opposite sides. They wrestle with it, trying to pull it away from one another when Tiffany throws it down to the floor. Jacqueline attempts to pick it up, but Tiffany kicks her in the gut and grabbing the ladder sets it up in the corner before returning to Moore whom she attempts to whip into it! But "Miss Texas" reverses it sending the luchadoress straight into the steel! As Tiffany hits the ground Jacqueline takes the ladder and sets it back up before beginning the climb! Tiffany however is back up and climbing up the other side begins to slug it out with Jacqueline Moore on the top! Moore keeps grabbing the Title as she seats herself up top and hammers Tiffany back and forth. But Tiffany grabs the Women's Champ and surprises her as she hits an Inconoclasm off the top of the ladder!
Tiffany is slow to get to her feet, but begins to climb the ladder while "Too Cool" Brian Christopher enters the ring and shakes Jacqueline awake. Moore realizes the predicament she's in as she sees Tiffany trying to unhook the Title! Davis meanwhile is trying to get Christopher out of the ring, but he's ignoring the ref and at Jackie's instruction grabs one side of the ladder while she takes the other and they dump it over!
Tiffany however hangs in there! She's still holding the Title belt and pulling herself up unstraps the belt over the ring! Jacqueline is furious and attempts to set the ladder back up; but it's too late as Tiffany drops down from above the ring the new Women's Champion! Jacqueline is pissed and attempts to attack Tiffany, but Davis steps in the way and refuses to let her have her way.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo then begin hyping tonight's huge Main Event where-in the ECW Heavyweight Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude will defend his belt which he won back on February 9th at King of the Mountain against "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Since winning the belt Rude has been a strong Champion, defending the Title against many challenges including those by "The Macho Man" Randy Savage and "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango. With those men out of the way however, a new challenger emerged as the Four Horsemen's leader Ric Flair made his intentions know that he had his eye on the ECW Championship!
Rick Rude accepted that challenge two week's ago when after Ric Flair defeated Matt Borne he climbed into the ring and hit Flair with a Rude Awakening delayed hangman's neckbreaker. This led to a tag-team match last night at the ARCO Arena where Rude pinned Flair winning the match for his team. And though it hasn't been mentioned explicitly Rude and Flair do have some history together. Before jumping ship to ECW Rude won the WCW International Heavyweight Title off of "The Nature Boy;" that Title being disbanded of course after Rude left the company. "Also sprach Zarathustra" then hits and out from the back comes "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair in his robe. Wooooo!
Gertner: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the Eastern Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first the challenger from Charlotte, North Carolina weighing 243 lbs.; he is "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair!
Flair comes down to the ring and struts about a bit while posing for the fans before Rude's strip theme hits. Okerlund mentions that Ric Flair may not be 100% on his game here tonight having witnessed the betrayal of the Four Horsemen by Barry Windham here earlier tonight. Having his mind elsewhere could cost "The Nature Boy" dearly.
Gertner: And now introducing from Robbinsdale, Minnesota weighing 251 lbs.; he is the Eastern Heavyweight Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude!Main Event ECW Title Match: Rick Rude (c) vs. Ric FlairReferee: S.D. Jones Rick Rude gets up onto the apron and gives a cocky shake of his pelvis for the ladies before entering the ring where he removes his robe and the ECW Championship. Jones starts the match and the two opponents stand off for a bit before locking up. Flair with a quick go behind catches Rude in a waist-lock; but the ECW Champ battles out with several elbows before hammering away on Flair whom he drives back into the ropes where Ric catches his hand and fires back! The two men brawl about the ring until Flair gets the drop on "The Ravishing One" and whips him across the ring! Big back body drop by Flair and he's strutting about the ring in between putting the boot down on Rude! He attempts to keep on him, but Rick fights his way up to his feet. Grabbing him, Ric goes for a swinging neckbreaker, but Rick blocks it and pushes Flair into the ropes. He then rolls him up from behind with a handful of tights! 1!... 2!...
Flair kicks out! Lanny says Rude is smart to try and end things early with a competitor as sneaky as "The Nature Boy." Ric is right back up and swinging as the two men brawl about the ring with Rude trapping Flair in the corner where he hammers him twice, kisses his bicep for luck; and then lets loose with a third punch that leaves Flair hung up on the ropes! Rick Rude is in full control as he hoists Flair up onto the top turnbuckle and hits a superplex! Float over with the pin! 1!... 2!...
Flair kicks out! Rick stomps out his challenger before going up top and connects with a knee drop! And another cover! 1!... 2!...
Flair powers out and rolls out of the ring! "'Naitch" is catching a breather on the outside, but Rude isn't having it as he follows him out. He attacks Flair, but Ric connects with a quick kick to the gut and throws the Champ onto the concrete with a gutwrench suplex! He follows this up with several knee and elbow drops on the outside before rolling back in. Flair enters the ring and begins strutting around. Woooo! He's hamming it up for the fans when Rick Rude gets back up on the apron. Flair meets him and the two men trade a few punches before Flair suplexes his opponent into the ring and makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Rude kicks out! The Champ isn't going down that easy. Flair drags Rude into the middle of the ring by his feet and goes for the figure four! But "Ravishing" fights out and kicks Flair into the ropes! Rude is back up and swings and missing with a clothesline on the rebound as Ric ducks it; and "The Ravishing One" turns right into a knife-edge Chop! And another one! Flair is taking Rude to Chop city! And he has the Champ backfooting it into the ring. He catches him in the corner, where he gets up onto the second rope and begins raining down the punches! 1! 2! 3! Rude counters by grabbing him and nails an atomic drop! Rude then throws hia opponent into the corner and begins pummeling him before grabbing him by the head and bulldog! Flair is prone in the middle of the ring as Rick grabs him by the legs and locks in the figure four! He's going to beat Flair with his own move! Ric is howling in pain and outrage!
He's beating the mat, but he's not submitting! He attempts to turn Rude over! But fails! He attempts again! But fails! Third time's the charm though and Ric has the figure four leglock reversed on him! He's gritting his teeth and growling in pain as he pounds his way toward the ropes! But Flair keeps on pulling him back! But each time Rude gets a little closer! And finally he's got it!
Davis breaks them up and both men are limping a bit as they find refuge in the ropes. Ric Flair however is in better condition and stumbles over to his opponent where he begins hammering on Rude. But Rude breaks free with an uppercut and the two men end up falling down on the mat trading punches. Rick however gets on top of Ric and pulling them both to their feet lays Flair out with a DDT! "The Nature Boy" is flattened and Rick leans on him with a cocky pin attempt. 1!... 2!...
Flair gets his shoulder up! Rude is back up and putting the boots to "'Naitch" before strutting about and gives a little dance for the ladies. When he turns round however he walks right into a low blow courtesy of the dirtiest player in the game! And Flair makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Rude kicks out! Ric Flair is looking desperate. He gets back up to his feet and hits a triple dose of shin breakers on Rude before running the ropes and hitting another! He's obviously setting Rude up for the figure four! But before he can lock it in, Rick Rude grabs him and rolls Flair up in a small package! 1!... 2!...
"The Nature Boy" kicks out! And he's back up stomping his opponent before going up top and hits the diving knee drop on Rude! 1!... 2!...
Rude kicks out! And Flair is pissed. He heads over to the corner and begins untying the turnbuckle pad. Davis goes to stop him, but Flair smacks him away! He gets it off and grabbing Rude by the legs again attempts to slingshot him into the exposed steel! Before he can hit it though Rude stops himself! Outraged Flair rushes attacking the Champ! And stepping aside, Rude lets Flair get a facefull of metal! Flair reels from the blow and grabbing him Rick Rude hits him with the Rude Awakening delayed hangman's neckbreaker! This is it! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!....
Flair kicks out?! What the hell? Rude can't believe it! Lanny and Gene can't believe it! Fifi is sitting at home and she can't believe it! "'Naitch" just won't stay down. Rude is pissed now and he hoists Flair up off his feet and looks to finish him with the overhead gutwrench backbreaker rack! Flair is screaming in pain, but he manages to worm his way free and kicks Rude right in the gut! He then runs the ropes and drops him with a lariat!
Ric Flair then seems to stop cold. Something has shaken him and Lanny says it doesn't take a "Genius" like him to realize it may be that he just used that turn-coat Windham's move. "The Nature Boy" seems to shake this off a bit however and he makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Rude kicks out! Flair can't believe it and he begins hammering and clubbing Rude in an attempt to keep him down! But Rude battles out and he's rallying back! The two men are trading punches in the middle of the ring! Rude whips Ric across the ring right into the exposed steel and as he bounces out of the corner, "The Ravishing One" sends him sailing with a huge back body drop! Flair hits the ground hard and is clutching at his leg. Meanwhile Rick Rude has climbed up top and leaping off connects with a knee drop! But at the same time Flair belts him in the face! With a pair of brass knuckles! As both men take a tumble across the ring, the knucks scatter. Ric Flair drapes his arm over the seemingly unconscious Rick Rude however and 1!... 2!...
3! Ric Flair has done it! He's the new ECW Champion! Flair goes crazy as he celebrates around the ring and soon has Arn and Tully join him. They hoist Flair up onto their shoulder as he shows off his newly won Title as the...

5/8/96 - Tucson Convention Center Tucson, AZ"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to the Tucson Convention Center, in Tucson Arizona for Eastern Championship Wrestling's very first show from the Grand Canyon State! They thank us for joining them just one week after ECW's huge PPV Hardcore Heaven '96 which they also thank us for making such a huge success! They then tell us that there's alot from the PPV to report, but they aren't giving anything away to non-subscribers; and that they'll just have to stay tuned to all the exciting ECW action as it unfolds here tonight! Also Sprach Zarathustra then hits and out from the back comes the new ECW Champion "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Woooo! He has Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard with him. Down in the ring he struts about the ring showing off the Eastern Heavyweight Championship before simply saying "I did it!" Wooo! Flair tells us how in the San Diego Sports Arena last week he did exactly what he said he was gonna do! He styled and he profiled all over the ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude! He chopped and dropped him! And he walked out of San Diego, California the new ECW Champion!
However it wasn't the night of celebration it was supposed to be. Oh no! Because a disgusting, vile, backstabbing turncoat reared his 280 lb. ugly head! And of course it saddens him to say, he's talking about his good "friend" Barry Windham! And Barry old pal, you're sadly mistaken if you don't think you have one grade A ass-kicking coming your way! Cause you haven't just crossed your friends! You haven't just crossed the Horsemen! You crossed "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Wooo! And that's just as bad as crossing God himself! The lights then go out and voodoo drums pound while mist fills the arena. In the darkness Barry Windham appears on the ramp with "The Soul Stealer" papa Shango and the entirety of the Dark Circle. Windham says he isn't surprised that Flair is out here crying over how "he" was betrayed. Because ever since he hooked up with The Four Horsemen, it was never about Tully Blanchard, it was never about Arn Anderson; and it certainly was never about Barry Windham. It wasn't even about The Four Horsemen. Since day one it's always been about one man, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. A man who doesn't care if his "friends" get his fair share, if they get their Title shots; or even if they win. And long as the world keeps revolving about his golden head. Well "Blackjack" Barry Windham has had enough of it. He's going to see that the world shatters over Flair's pompous head with his new brothers in the Dark Circle! And he's going to get what should've been his all along. That belt that's sitting around Flair's waist!
Flair gets crazy and takes off the belt swinging it about the ring. He asks if this is what Barry wants? He wants Flair's Title?! Well he's going to have to come up here and pry it over his icy, dead hands brother! But if he wants a shot at the belt! Oh he better believe he's got it! Because "The Nature Boy" is just dying to get his hands around Windham's throat and choke the life out of him! And it's gonna happen! Wooo! Because Flair already had a talk with Bischoff! And it on in two weeks in Cedar City, Utah!
Arn Anderson then gets the belt off of Flair and tells Windham that that's all well of good. But "Blackjack" owes a debt to him and Tully Blanchard for his actions last week. He stabbed him in the back, and well that doesn't sit well with "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. So while "The Nature Boy" may have promised Barry a grade A asskicking in two weeks; in tonight's Main Event he's gonna find himself faving a Double A ass-kicking as he and Tully Blanchard get their pound of flesh from "Blackjack" Barry Windham and "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle!Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Douglas WilliamsReferee: Danny Davis While the announcers talk about the two huge matches just announced Jeff Hard who has his brother Matt at ringside starts things off with a high-flying spotfest against "The U.K. Kidd" Douglas Williams who more than holds his own getting multiple pinfalls, notable after hitting the Bombs Aways diving knee drop and the Chaos Theory wasit-lock backroll tranisitioned into a bridging German suplex! After making several failed pin attempts himself, Jeff Hardy gets a break when Matt trips Douglas Williams up from the outside setting him up for the Reversal of Fate inverted facelock neckbreaker slam for the three.Tag-Team Match: The Hughes Brothers vs. Sex & Violence (Michele Starr & Joe E. Legend)Referee: S.D. Jones Spike Hughes starts things off with "Gorgeous" Michelle Starr as the match gets underway. Though Sex & Violence gives the Hughes Brothers a run for their money, Devon Hughes ends up nailing Joe E. Legend wit a huge spinebuster before picking up the win. Testify! After the match The Hughes Brothers dance a bit for the fans. After the match we're taken backstage where ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels is having a word with "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Debbie Combs about his loss to Papa Shango at Hardcore Heaven '96. Savage is dejected as he tells us how "The Soul Stealer" is an apt name for Shango, because stole the win last week is exactly what the witch doctor did brother! He stole the match and not only that, cost "Macho Man" the chance to win the ECW Title for an entire year! The thing Savage holds most dear is now beyond his grasp and... and... Randy gets more and more livid as the promo goes on and finally he grabs the camera and hurls it to the floor! We then get a sideview of the set as Randy Savage goes berserk tearing it apart while Runnels and Combs run for cover! Back from the break we're shown by Okerlund and Poffo what happened during the break where we see Randy Savage held down by Ronnie Garvin's security team while ECW President Eric Bischoff tries to talk some sense into him. We learn that "Macho Man" was convinced to leave the building of his own accord.ECW Light Heavyweight Title Match: Aryan von Raschke w/ Baron Von Raschke vs. Cousin Jamie w/Doug GilbertReferee: Danny Davis Cousin Jamie gets his rematch for the Light Heavyweight Title here in this match where the cocky Aryan von Raschke taunts the former Champ throughout. This nearly costs him the Title when after stomping Cousin jamie out a bit Aryan begins yelling at Doug Gilbert at ringside when "The Redneck Rebel" leaps up and hits the Champ with a hairpull hangman! Cousin Jamie is now back up and connects with the Paydirt single arm underhook DDT on the surprised Von Raschke!
Luckily for Aryan, his father the Baron von Raschke climbs up onto the apron to distract the ref, but Cousin Jamie had a 5 count before he kicks free! From there Cousin Jamie keeps on top of his opponent a bit before Aryan von Raschke rallies back and puts him away with a jumping Tombstone piledriver picking up the win! Aryan is then handed the Title when he suddenly attacked from behind by Doug Gilbert! Cousin Jamie is back up and soon the Bayou Boys are beating the crap out of the Lightweight Champ when they suddenly beheaded by a massive double clothesline! They hit the ground hard and when they look up their eyes fill with terror as they find themselves face to face with...The Blitzkrieg! "Mangler's Monster" is back! And grabbing the Bayou Boys by their throats, he hoists them up to their feet and drills them with a massive double Chokeslam which we learn is called the Telegraphed From Berlin. Aryan, The Baron; and The Blitzkrieg stand triumphant as ECW goes to..."Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam is seen in the back making his way down the hall with his manager David Prazak when they're approached by..."Mr. Wrestling" Steve Corino and Jason Venom?! They want to talk to Prazak and Rob tells him to go ahead, that he'll see him at ringside.
Back at ringside "Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo remind us that next week's show will be coming to us live from the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, Arizona and that while tickets for that show are sold out, those folks at home should be sure to join us right here on Eastern Championship's home station TNN The Nashville Network to catch all the action live! And this Saturday be sure to check out the return of ECW Weekend Warriors, where they've just gotten word The Bayou Boys will be facing The Ubermensch in the Main Event! Match: Rob Van Dam vs. RhinoReferee: S.D. Jones "The Man-Beast" Rhino is a stiff opponent, hitting the cocky Rob Van Dam with everything but the kitchen sink, as he scores a two count following The Gore and just misses the win after hitting "Mr. Wednesday Night" with a huge superplex off the top! Rob Van Dam isn't going down easy however and pulls monkey flips, multiple kicks, a springboard moonsault, the Rolling Thunder, a slingshot guillotine legdrop; and a tope dive onto Rhino on the outside from his impressive arsenal before going up top and connecting with the 5-Star Frog Splash off the top! He makes the cover and gets the win before getting his hand raised by Jones and his manager David Prazak who came down midway through the match.Chris Benoit comes out to the ring in his sunglasses and leather trenchcoat. He tells us how he was cheated at Hardcore Heaven '96 and would have won the match if not for the incompetence of his Tag-Team partner Bobby Starr. And even moreso because of inept referring by that hack S.D. Jones. And it wasn't the last time his sorry officiated cost someone the Title last night he might add. But that's alright because Eric Bischoff wisely has granted him another shot at the Tag-Team Titles right here next week. And this time he'll have a partner who's a little better than the caliber of Tommy Dreamer.Match: Chris Benoit vs. Ace SteelReferee: Danny Davis One thing that can be said of Ace Steel, he isn't a coward. He attacks Chris Benoit from the bell, but "The Canadian Crippler" beats the Hell out of him and finishes him off with a trio of continuous German Suplexes; the third of which he bridges for the pin. He then storms off to the back without getting his hand raised and Okerlund talks about Benoit's attitude problem which Lanny says is an understatement. Ted Bundy, now that guy had an attitude problem. The Dark Circle are gathered around a cauldron in a darkened room with red lighting. "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango is surrouned by Brimstone, Barry Windham, Matt Borne, Pogo the Clown, Luna Vachon, Mongo Vyle; and Rhino as he cuts a promo about The Dark Circle standing victorious at ECW Hardcore Heaven '96! Not only did they bury the career, the very soul of the "Macho Man" Randy Savage, but also rent asunder The Four Horsemen forever! And now as the Dark Lord has foreseen, "The Widow Maker" Barry Windham shall return the ECW Championship within The Dark Circle's chilling embrace! Shango then blows voodoo smoke at the camera as he begins cackling maniacally.Match: Brimstone w/ Papa Shango vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri w/ Mr FujiReferee: S.D. Jones Papa Shango spends his time stalking Mr. Fuji on the outside during this match, but Fuji isn't having it and threatens "The Soul Stealer" menacingly with his cane. This keeps Yoshihiro Tajiri on guard during the match, but he does manage to impress with his offense once again, hitting the hand spring elbow and a hurrancanrana off the top rope on "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone before the big man who's dominated the majority of the match finishes Tajiri off with a Chokeslam from Hell.
After the match Brimstone gets the microphone and Okerlund quips that this is Lanny's favorite part of the show when...Lord William Regal comes out onto the ramp with the Eastern States Title draped over his shoulder! He says that'll be enough Sunshine, before cutting his own promo about how at ECW Hardcore Heaven Britain's favorite son Lord William Regal once again rose to a monstrous challenge and overcame it when he made "The Dark Poof" Brimstone tap out. Cheerio.
Brimstone's eyes bug out of his head and Poffo says that Regal isn't being smart here poking the bear.Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's huge Main Event! This one stems right out of last week's Pay Per View in which "Blackjack" Barry Windham betrayed his Tag-Team partners Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard in their match with The Dark Circle, clotheslining a stunned Arn Anderson who was then pinned by Mongo Vyle. Windham had joined The Dark Circle! Earlier in the evening he claimed he turned on the Horsemen because of Ric Flair, claiming maybe rightfully so that he uses The Four Horsemen to serve his own ends without caring about the careers of Windham, Blanchard; or Anderson. Wanting some payback against Windham, Ric Flair has agreed to put the ECW Title on the line against him in just two weeks! Tonight's Main Event however isn't about Titles. It's about pure revenge. And tonight "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard will be looking to give the devil his due.
Gertner: The following Tag-Team Contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first at a combined weight of 480 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by the ECW Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair; they are the team of Tully Blanchard and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson!
The Horsemen come down to the ring and none of them look happy. Anderson is having some words with Flair before the lights go out, smoke fills the arena and voodoo drums pound ominously.
Gertner: And now introducing at this time their challengers weighing a combined 606 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango; they are Dark Circle members "Blackjack" Barry Windham and "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle!Main Event: Match: Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard vs. Barry Windham & Mongo VyleReferee: Danny Davis Arn Anderson gets in the ring and he wants Barry Windham bad. "Blackjack" refuses him however and things start off with "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle in the ring! "The Enforcer's" visible frustration with this gets Mongo a couple shots in, but Arn quickly recovers and gives Vyle the beating Barry had coming before slamming him into the mat with a spinebuster! He doesn't make the cover however and instead order Windham to get his ass into the ring! This however gives Mong Vyle enough time to recover and he clocks Arn from behind with a bionic elbow! Anderson falls forward into the ropes and "The Mauler" lays into Arn with several punches before whipping him into the ring and tags in Barry Windham!
And they drop "The Enforcer" with a double clothesline! Barry hooks the leg looking to end things early! But Tully Blanchard dives in and makes the save! Tully begins clobbering both Barry and Mongo, giving Arn enough time to recover. Anderson is back up just in time as Blanchard begins taking a beating and the four men brawl about the ring! Davis does his best to remove Blanchard and Vyle from the ring. Meanwhile on the outside, every time Papa Shango attempts to interfere in the match, Ric Flair chases him off around ringside. Order restored, Arn Anderson and Barry Windham are going at it with neither man having the upper hand for a while, but Barry catchs Double A with a knee to the gut and flattens him with a gutwrench kneeling powerbomb and the pin! 1!... 2!...
Arn kicks out! Barry punishes his former ally as he hammers him about the ring, but Arn manages to surprise Blackjack with a sitout jawbreaker over his head! With Windham recovering from the blow, Arn tags in Tully Blanchard! Blanchard immediately goes up top and connects with a sunset flip! 1!... 2!...
Windham kicks out! Tully does his best to keep the big man down with knee drops, fist drops; and stomps. He's successful for a while, capturing Barry in a headlock on the ground; and works over his neck but Windham begins making a comeback and fighting his way to his feet hammers away on Tully's ribs with some big back elbows before throwing him to the mat with a snapmare. And as Blanchard stumbles up to his feet, Barry grabs him and nails him with a flapjack before making the cover! 1!... 2!
Tully kicks out! Barry puts the boots for him and hoists him to his feet before throwing him up onto his shoulder and attempt to hit him with a Snak Eyes! Tully however wiggles free and falling behind him pushes him into the turnbuckle before tagging back in Arn Anderson! And as Barry Windham turns toward them, Tully and Arn kick him in the gut and nail him with a double spike piledriver! Arn with the cover! 1!.... 2!....
Barry just kicks out! Arn attempts to stomp the big man out, but Windham grabs him by the foot and catching him off balance, throws Anderson down to the floor. He then heads to his corner and tags in Mongo Vyle! Windham appears to have a headache and consults with Papa Shango on the outside while Mongo pounches on Arn and begins throwing him about the ring! He hurls Anderson into the corner, hanging him up to dry and begins pounding on "The Enforcer!" Arn however has had enough and grabbing Vyle by the head reverses their rolls and hammering away on "The Mauler!" He then climbs up to the second rope and begins raining down the punches! 1! 2! 3! 4! 5! 6! 7! 8!
Arn is thrown down to the mat while Mongo's ass takes a seat in the corner. It's Papa Shango and Barry Windham who're now up on the apron and hopping down they grab Anderson by either leg and introduce his groin to the post! Arn and Mongo are both out of commission now and far from their corners. Barry Windham returns to his and begins calling for Mongo to wake up! Arn meanwhile is back up and in pain as he begins the slow crawl to his corner. Vyle is staggering around and seems to be in dreamland, but is head toward Barry! And Arn makes the tag first!
Tully Blanchard is inside the ring and he stops the tag from being made! Mongo is in trouble as Blanchard unloads on him! He beats "The Mauler" about the ring before grabbing him and going for the spike piledriver! But he's unable to lift him! He gets him up on the second try however and caves Mongo Vyle's skull in! Tully Blanchard makes the cover! 1!...
Barry Windham has entered the ring behind the ref to break up the count! 2!.... "The Nature Boy" is in the ring! And he has the ECW Title! Which he brains Windham with! Barry goes down hard and falls out of the ring!
3! Tully Blanchard has won it! Arn and Ric join him in the ring to celebrate while a crazed Papa Shango goes batshit crazy on the outside! He's soon joined by Windham and the rest of the Dark Circle appear on the ramp! The Horsemen decide that discretion is the better part of valor and retreat through the audience as the Dark Circle joins Shango and Windham as ringside while Vyle wakes up from his nap and the...

They're happy to be back after a week off-air thanks to ECW's latest Pay Per-View event Hardcore Heaven '96! The event was a huge success thanks to you the fans. They have an action-packed show for us tonight; but first they have an extra special announcement to make and that's the debut of th fourth set of ECW action figures! Unforunately there's no Honky Tonk figure... yet. But in this all-star line-up you can now add the long awaited "Soul Stealer" Papa Shango to you collections! Also the Baron Von Raschke will now be available as well as his charge "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg! Former tag-team Champions The Killers Bees B. Brian Blair and "Jumping" Jim Brunzell will also be immortalized in plastic and finally; the lovely Miss Beulah McGillicutty! HTM says he sure would like to get his hands on her. Wouldn't we all. They then tell us that we can find these figures in our local Wal-Mart, Kay Bee and Toys R Us stores! Or as usual you can order them direct by calling 1-800-BUYECW! Collect them all!Joel Gertner then makes the announcements for the first match of the evening, with Danny Davis officiating all the matches.Match: Debbie Combs vs. La Diabolica "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs doesn't have the "Macho Man" Randy Savage out here tonight in this fast-paced opening contest which sees both women make several pin attempts with La Diabolica hitting her opponent with a sitout powerbomb off the top. Debbie Combs rallies back however and hits the masked woman with a swinging neckbreaker and makes the cover for the win. After the break we're taken to a promo where "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore who's with "Too Cool" Brian Christopher says Tiffany got lucky at Hardcore Heaven '96 when she defeated her for the Women's Championship. But she hopes her Visa is in order, because next week Jacqueline gets her rematch and will be showing to her just why "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore is the most dominant women's wrestler in the business today!Match: B. Brian Blair w/ Jim Brunzell vs. Battle Kat "Jumping" Jim Brunzell is in The New Daisy Theater? He isn't out of retirement, but does have his old Killer Bees jacket on over his street clothes as he comes out to the ring with his former Tag-Team partner "THE Killer Bee" B. Brian Blair. And he's holding the new Killer Bees action figures?! He's showing them off to the crowd with Blair before "THE Killer" gets into the ring to face off against the masked Battle Kat.
At rinside HTM says this company is ridiculous putting out an action figure of Brunzell, when they don't even have Honky Tonk Man who's actually on the roster. Zumhoff says that as former Tag-Team Champs; the Killer Bees are part of ECW's heritage. But Honky thinks the fans are too stupid to remember two weeks ago, let alone who held the Titles over a year ago. Inside the ring Battle Kat gives Blair a run for his money, but B. Brian Blair locks in the Boston Crab and gets the win here by Submission."Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch delivers a promo bragging about his defeat of the Junkyard Dog at Hardcore Heaven '96! He says that everyone knew he'd win. The folks in the arena, people watching on tv; hell even the Pope called to wish him luck but changed his damned fool mind saying the good Captain didn't need it. But he's buried that bone. Now it's time to move on to bigger and better things. Namely winnings titles!Match: Dick Murdoch vs. Ace Darling Ace Darling gets in some offense here with a Frankensteiner and Tornado DDT; but this is mostly "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch's show. And he finishes off his opponent with a brainbuster. After the match we're taken back stage for Honky Tonk Man's first ever "Shake, Rattle; and Roll" segment where he invites us to party with a good friend of his; the true "King of Memphis" Elvis Presley! Elvis Presley - Jailhouse Rock (Music Video)Buck Zumhoff and the Honky Tonk Man welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's big Main Event. They remind us that it was Aryan von Raschke who finally defeated Bayou Boy Cousin Jamie for the ECW Light Heavyweight Title after an impressive four month reign as Champ right here on ECW Weekend Warriors two weeks ago! This past week Jamie got his rematch which proved unsuccessful after some liberal outside interference by Aryan's manager the Baron Von Raschke. Of course the real surprised came when "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg returned after a four month absence and decimated the Boys! Tonight's match was requested by The Bayou Boys who're looking to get a little revenge on the former Tag-Team Champions The Ubermensch! This just proves to HTM that Doug Gilbert and his Cousin Jamie are batshit crazy.
Gertner: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from the Mississippi Bayou weighing a combined 442 lbs. they are the team of Cousin Jamie and "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert; The Bayou Boys!
Some banjo music then plays and out from the back come the Bayou Boys slapping high fives with the audience before entering the ring and having their little hoedown! The festivities are cut short however when "Ich tu der weh" by Rammstein hits!
Gertner: And now introducing the challengers hailing from The Republic of Germany weighing a combined 546 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by the Baron Von Raschke; "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg and Light Heavyeight Champion Aryan von Raschke; The Ubermensch!Main Event: The Bayou Boys vs. The Ubermensch The arrogant Aryan von Raschke starts things out against the man he beat for the Lightweight belt, Cousin Jamie! And Jamie is all fired up taking Aryan down several times with clotheslines before landing a bulldog and making the cover! He only gets a two however. Jame continues pounding on von Raschke, but Aryan rallies back and ends up slingshotting Jamie into the top turnbuckle. And when the Bayou Boy goes down, von Raschke stomps him about the ring before choking Cousin Jamie out against the bottom rope as he grinds the heel of his jackboot into the top of his opponent's head. This gets Aryan in trouble with Davis who pulls him away giving Cousin Jamie a breather. And springing to his feet, he attacks von Raschke! The attack however is short-lived and Jamie ends up on the receiving end of the Sieg Heil! superkick!
But Aryan doesn't make the cover?! Instead he yells at the fans and Jamie as he struts about the ring before running in to take Jamie's head off with a football punt! But he gets dropped with a toe hold instead which Cousin Jamie transitions into a single-leg Boston Crab! Aryan is in trouble and shouting obscenities in German as Jamie puts on the pressure! But before he can tap the Blitzkrieg has entered the ring and drops Jamie with a running forearm smash! Davis isn't dumb enough to get in the way of "Mangler's Monster;" instead yelling at the Baron to keep his man in control. Blitzkrieg heads out of the ring, but his interference doesn't help much when Cousin Jamie makes the tag to Doug Gilbert!
Inside the ring Doug works Aryan over, trapping him for a while in the Clawhold. The Bayou Boys prove to have some intelligence when they use quick tags as they cut off the ring, keeping Aryan inside as they work him over together. When Doug Gilbert whips Aryan into the turnbuckle, setting him up for the dosey doe however, von Raschke hits the turnbuckle and flips over it Flair-style! He ends up on the apron and hops up top as Gilbert swings Cousin Jamie in for the body avalanche! But Aryan goes airborne and takes the Boys' head off with a missile dropkick before hitting the ground himself! Both men are down while Davis orders "The Redneck Rebel" who isn't the legal man to his corner. Gilbert and the Baron try to rally their team on while The Blitzkrieg just looks on menacingly! And Jamie gets the tag!
But so does Aryan! And "Mangler's Monster" comes in like a thunderbolt! He drops Dougie with a clothesline before bludgeoning him about the ring! He works Gilbert over with several slams before hitting the Telegraph from Berling chokeslam! And it's over! 1!... 2!...
3! The Ubermensch have won it here! But Cousin Jamie isn't going down without a fight and climbing up top hits The Blitzkrieg with a flying crossbody only to get caught in mid-air by "The Monster" who drops him with a huge backbreaker over his knee! The Baron raises his team's hands in victory as the...

Jones Steve Blackman comes out with his manager Captain Lou Albano who makes a nuisance of himself at ringside while "The Silent Assassin" squares off against "The U.K. Kidd" Douglas Williams. Both men get in alot of offense in this opponent bout which sees Williams get a two count utilizing a Euopean uppercut and a nearfall following a Tornado DDT. Steve Blackman hangs in there however and after getting several nearfalls of his own, ends up putting Douglas Williams away with a birdged Fisherman's suplex.Match: Barry Windham w/ Papa Shango vs. Prince Nana Osei BandohReferee: Danny Davis During this match a split screen comes up where Terri Runnels is in front of the ECW banner with Barry Windham and Papa Shango. Barry talks about his past with "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and how more than anyone in the world he knows how the ECW Champ operates. Which is why he has no doubts that next week he'll defeat Flair. "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango agrees and says that the Dark Lord has decreed that next week the ECW Championship will be right back where it belongs, within the cold embrace of the Dark Circle! Mwahaha!
Inside the ring Prince Nana Osei Bandoh does his best, but is simply out-classed by Barry Windham who punishes the young upstart a bit before laying him out with a vicious lariat to pick up the win.Match: Dean Malenko vs. Rhino w/ Mongo VyleReferee: S. D. Jones "The Man-Beast" Rhino gives Dean Malenko a tough contest here, hitting him with a superplex off the top for two and a running powerslam for another. Malenko gives as good as he gets however, hittin Rhino with several suplexes and trapping him for a while in a single leg Boston Crab. Rhino however reaches the ropes with a little help from Mongo Vyle, causing Dean to argue with him and get trapped in a vicious headlock, chickenwing combo!
Malenko grits his teeth however and hangs in there, fighting his way out. The two men battle about the ring for several more minutes before Rhino whips Malenko into the corner and connects with The Gore striking spear! Right into the steel ringpost when Malenko pulls himself onto the top turnbuckle! Grabbing his opponent while on the second rope, Dean Malenko hits a sitout powerbomb and picks up a big win. This doesn't sit well with "The Machiavellan Mauler" however and Mongo Vyle storms the ring!
Caught off-guard Dean gets the hell stomped out of him before he smartly rolls out of the ring! He argues with Mongo and Rhino as he backs his way up the ramp. After the match we're brought in front of the ECW banner where the ECW Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer tells Terri Runnels that they aren't afraid of "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit who is a violent, petty man. They say they defeated Benoit at Hardcore Heaven and will do so again here tonight. And to all those teams out there who think like Benoit and think they can take the Titles off them; well all Dreamer and Rhodes has to say to them is two simple words. Bring it!"Mean" Gene and Lanny welcome us back from the break before reminding us that next week's show will be coming to us live from the Centrum Center in Cedar City, Utah and that while tickets for that show are sold out; those folks at home should tune in right here on ECW's homstation TNN The Nashville Network as usual to catch all the Eastern Championship action live! But before then they encourage us to tune in this Saturday night to ECW Weekend Warriors where Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes will fighting in the Main Event! Whether or not they'll still be holding the Tag-Team Titles however is a question that will be answered in our next match of the night!Tag-Team Title Match: Chris Benoit & Chris Chetti vs. Tommy Dreamer & Dustin RhodesReferee: Danny Davis Chris Benoit starts things out and beats the crap out of Tommy Dreamer for a bit while the announcers talk about how "The Canadian Crippler" demanded S.D. Jones didn't ref his match tonight after costing him the belt at Hardcore Heaven. Okerlund thinks this is nonsense while Benoit drops Tommy on his head and makes the cover. 1!... 2!...
Dreamer kicks out! Benoit continues to manhandle his opponent, working over his neck with a rear headlock as Tommy reaches in vain for his partner. We're taken to a split screen again where Chris Benoit tells us how his new partner Chris Chetti is an upgrade. That he made a mistake at Hardcore Heaven selecting someone as incompetent as Tommy Dreamer to tag with him. That tonight he rectifies that mistake by getting a partner as incompetent as Dustin Rhodes. He chuckles evilly while inside the ring "The Canadian Crippler" Irish whips Dreamer across the ring and takes him down with a springboard shoulder tackle! He hooks the leg! 1!... 2!...
Tommy kicks out! Lanny suggests Dreamer should really stay home for a bit and recuperate his injured neck before his dumb ass gets himself killed. Benoit is working over Tommy's neck yet again with a side headlock, but the "Innovator of Violence" rallies back and hoisting Benoit up from behind, he drops him with a suplex! And not making the cover, Dreamer hurries to his corner! But Benoit is right back up and catches him from behind! Dreamer desperately tries to make the tag while Chris chokes him back! But he fights out with several elbows and a snapmare! And Tommy gets the tag!
Dustin Rhodes grabs the top rope and hopping over immediately hits Benoit with a leg drop! And Dustin is on fire as he takes the fight right to Chris! He hits a sidewalke slam getting a one count before whipping him into the ropes and clubbing him to the floor with a huge bionic elbow! Then hoisting "The Crippler" up to his feet he hits him with the Shock Treatment snap scoop powerslam pin! 1!... 2!...
Benoit kicks out! Dustin keeps on top of Benoit, but it isn't long before "The Canadian Crippler" begins firing back! He hits several suplexes on Rhodes, but "The American Nightmare" keeps on coming and gives as good as he gets until Benoit whips him into the ropes and connects with a back body... nothing, cause Dustin Rhodes hits the floor and nails Chris with an uppercut! And getting back to his feet Dustin sets Chris up for the Schizophrenic vertical suplex dropped into a snap swinging neckbreaker! And he makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
3! No wait! Benoit just got his shoulder up! Dustin helps his opponent to his feet before dragging him to his corner where he tags in Tommy Dreamer! Dustin throws "The Crippler" into the corner where they let him have it with several punches, before stomping him into the ground! They then share a drink from Dustin's flask before pulling Benoit to his feet and together they whip him into the opposing corner! And on the rebound they grab Chris Benoit and hammer him into the canvas with a double DDT!
Dreamer makes the cover! But Danny Davis stops him?! He informs the Tag-Team Champs that Chris Chetti made the blind tag when they whipped Benoit into his corner! Dreamer turns to face Chetti and walks right into a missile dropkick! And he makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Tommy kicks out! 3! Chetti keeps on top of the stunned Tommy Dreamer while Davis orders Dustin from the ring. Benoit also sits up and looks particularly pissed off to see his Tag-Team partner in the ring! Tommy Dreamer is pulling himself up with the ropes when Chris Beoit gets right in Chetti's face and pushes him! Chetti then says something, but Benoit slaps the taste out of his mouth! Danny Davis is ordering "The Crippler" to leave the ring when Benoit grabs him by the shirt and throws him down to the ground! He then kicks Chetti in the gut and slams him to the mat with a falling powerbomb! Danny Davis scrambles his ass across the ring getting as far away from Benoit as he can as he calls for the bell!
Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes have won the match via DQ! And Chris Beoit's eyes go blank as he storms across the ring after Davis! But he's met halfway by Rhodes and Dreamer! And the three men begin slugging it out! Getting the drop on him, the Tag Champs whip Chris across the ring! But he comes charging back with a double clothesline! He stomps the Champs out a bit before looking around for Davis who was smart enough to get out of the ring. Chris Benoit storms up the ramp as ECW goes to...Back from break The Baron von Raschke cuts a promo with his son the Lightweight Champ Aryan von Raschke and the returning "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg! The Baron is glad to have him back in the fold and tells of the path of destruction soon to be wrought on the helpless prey that is the ECW roster! But the very first order of business is to reclaim the ECW Tag-Team Titles from those talentless, drunk Americans Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer!Match: The Blitzkrieg w/ Aryan & The Baron vs. Brian Christopher w/ JacquelineReferee: S.D. Jones "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg gets his first vict... opponent since his return against "Too Cool" Brian Christopher who looks like he'd like to be anywhere else than in the ring with the big man. To his credit he doesn't run (Lanny thinks he should); but he gets absolutely manhandled in this one before The Blitzkrieg hoists Brian Christopher up onto his shoulder and nails him with a Muscle Buster for the win. After the match we're brought in front of the ECW banner with ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels who's talking with the ECW Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Wooo! He's with Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard as he cuts a promo on The Dark Circle, telling us that they may be big, they may be bad; and they're certainly scary. But "'Naitch" has dealt with bigger, badder; and scarier before. And has always come away with the big win brother! Which is exactly what he intends to do next week when he faces the traitorous "Blackjack" Barry Windham! Woooooo!Match: William Regal vs. Pogo the Clown w/ Matt Borne & Luna VachonReferee: Danny Davis The Eastern States Champion Sir William Regal has faced off against the monstrous Pogo the Clown before and each time has been taken to the limit. This time is no different and Regal gets a good pounding from Pogo who is often aided by "The Ring Master" Matt Borne and "Mad Dog" Luna Vachon at ringside. The trio cheat often and Pogo attempts to pin Regal after a standing splash that gets him as close to a three count as you can get without getting one. When Luna distacts referee Danny Davis allowing Borne to hop up onto the apron and crack Regal over the back with his bullwhip causing Sir William to almost get Buried in the Basement; the Eastern States Champion has had enough! Regal slips out of the ring and gets himself a steel chair! He smacks Borne with it on his way to the ring where he clobbers Pogo the Clown with it as well!
Davis DQs Regal, but William doesn't care and hammers Pogo down to the mat before Borne and Vachon enter the ring! Seeing them coming he turns and wards them off with the chair when he suddenly grabbed from behind and dropping the chair; receives a Chokeslam from Hell right on top of it! "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone is now inside the ring and he gets on the microphone demanding another match with Regal for the Eastern States Championship!Just then "White Train" by Tito & Tarantula hits and out from the back swaggers ECW Preseident Eric Bischoff! "All-Class" tells Brimstone that he'd love to see Regal and Brimstone face off again; and that he soon might get that chance! Because he's just scheduled a Tournament to determine the # 1 contender for the Eastern States Championship! And Brimstone will be in it!Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's Main Event which will see the ECW Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair take on up and coming superstar "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri!
Gertner: The following non-Title contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Tokyo, Japan weighing 210 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by Mr. Fuji; he is "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri!
Tajiri stalks his way down to the ring before posing for the fans on the ropes and spits his green mist up into the air before Also Sprach Zarathustra hits. And out from the back comes...
Gertner: And now introducing at this time his opponent from Charlotte, North Carolina weighing 243 lbs.; he is the Eastern Heavyweight Champion; "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair!Main Event: Ric Flair vs. Yoshihiro TajiriReferee S.D. Jones Ric Flair comes down in his robe with the ECW Title around his waste and struts about before Woooing for the crowd. Jones starts the match and in the early going Ric has some trouble keeping up with Yoshihiro Tajiri who drops the ECW Champ with a hurrancanrana, a hand spring back elbow; and a Flip-Over DDT to counter a powerbomb by Flair which gets "The Japanese Buzzsaw" a two count.
"The Nature Boy" rallies back however and slows Tajiri down considerably by focusing on his legs with several shinbreakers, knee drops; and a Boston Crab before going for the Figure-Four! Wooo! Ooops! Tajiri doesn't allow the hold to be locked in as he pushes Flair away and into the ropes with his feet! And following "'Naitch" in he locks in the Tarantula! Ric really sells the move for all he's worth before the ref breaks it up.
From here the hobbling "Japanese Buzzsaw" attempts to keep Flair ground with knee and elbow strikes before looking to take the Champ's head off with The Shining Wizard! Flair ducks it however and rallies back, taking Tajiri to chop city as he beats him about the ring and droppoing Yoshihir Tajiri with a chop block, softens him up with a couple stomps to the knees before grabbing his feet, lets out a Wooo!; and locks in the figure four leglock! Tajiri screams in pain and reaches for the ropes, but ends up tapping out!
Ric Flair is then handed his ECW Title and poses for the fans victorious.
Lights Fade.

After getting hit by the hangman, Barr staggers around right into the Twist of Fate which gets Hardy the pin.
After the match we're taken to a video clip featuring snippets from matches that took place this past Wednesday on the main show. We see Rhino executing a suplex on Dean Malenko, Malenko pounding Rhino with a sitout powerbomb from the top rope, Chris Benoit hit the falling powerbomb on Chris Chetti, Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes lay Benoit out with a Double DDT, The Blitzkrieg decimate Brian Christopher with a Muscle Buster, Barry Windham decapitating Prince Nana with a lariat; and finally Ric Flair locking in the figure four on Yoshihiro Tajiri! The ECW Wednesday Nights logo then appears.Back from the break Buck and Honky discuss the Ladder Match that took place for the Women's Championship back at ECW Hardcore Heaven '96 and how dangerous those matches are, particularly for women. HTM calls Zumhoff sexist.Women's Championship Match: Tiffany vs. Jacqueline Moore w/ Brian Christopher "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore dominates most of this rematch for the Title which sees her hits a bridged German Suplex for her first nearfall. She also hits a float-over DDT, a spear, a spinning heel kick; and even punishes the Women's Champion Tiffany by locking her in a guillotine choke with bodyscissors. Tiffany just barely hangs in there, but takes the beating like a Champ as she hits an occasional surprise hurrancanrana, dropkick; and at one point lock Jacqueline into the La Cavernaria for several seconds. In the ends though it is a double underhook sitout facebuster that gets Tiffany the win over an overconfident Jacqueline Moore here.
After the match we're taken back stage for Buck Zumhoff's first ever "Rock 'N Rolling" segment where he invites us to party with Buck's favorite band The Scorpions as they "Rock You Like a Hurricane"!Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane (PCM Version)Buck Zumhoff and Honky Tonk Man welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's big Main Event! They talk up the ECW Tag-Team Champions who just this past week beat "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit and Chris Chetti to retain their Titles. Tonight they will compete in a non-Title contest against The Green Berets Corporal Kirchner and Sgt. Craig Pittman. They inform us that Kirchner's normal tag-team partner is under contract with another company and in the meantime the Corporal is testing out a new recruit.
Gertner: The following non-Title tag-team contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first on loan from the US Army weighing a combined 513 lbs. they are Corporal Kirchner and Sergeant Craig Pittman; The Green Berets! The Berets come marching down waving the US flag as the National Anthem plays.
Gertner: And now introducing their opponents this evening weighing a combined 498 lbs.; they are the ECW Tag-Team Champions "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer and "The American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes!Tag-Team Main Event: Dustin Rhodes & Tommy Dreamer vs. The Green Berets (Kirchner & Pittman) After Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes share a drink from Rhodes' flask, the match gets underway. The Berets do well against the Tag-Team Champs with Dreamer spending some time stuck in the Code Red! He manages to fight his way out however and drops Pittman with a DDT for a two count and a sidewalk slam for one that doesn't even get there. Craig Pittman gives as good as he gets and when the two men collide in the middle of the ring with a double lariat takedown, they're both looking for the tag.
And they both get it at just about the same time! Corporal Kirchner gets the early advantage on Dustin Rhodes, using several power moves against the "American Nightmare." But when he goes for a back body drop, the tide turns when Rhodes hits the canvas and connects with an uppercut! From there he works Kirchner over a bit, giving the Corporal a stay in the sleeper hold. He eventually tags in Tommy Dreamer and the duo whip Kirchner into the ropes before knocking his beret off with a Double dose of DDT! Tommy makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Kirchner kicks free! Tommy attempts to keep him down, but Corporal Kirchner gets a second wind and battles out to make the hot tag to Pittman! Craig Pittman at first succeeds in keeping Dreamer off his feet with a series of shoulder tackles, but "The Innovator" is soon matching the Sergeant shot for shot and when Craig Pittman attempts to superplex Dreamer off the top; Tommy Dreamer blocks it and regaining control hits a Tornado DDT off the top before making the cover and picks up the win! The Tag-Team Champions celebrate with their Titles and long droughts from Rhode's flask. Then the...

[/b] Referee: Danny Davis On last week's show we witnessed "Too Cool" Brian Christopher squashed by the returning "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg. Tonight he faces his tag-team partner and Light Heavyweight Champion Aryan von Raschke. Brian looks much more impressive here as he gets a two count off a sunset flip off the apron into the ring on Aryan as well as two more after hitting a superkick and the Hip Hop Drop guillotine leg drop. This doesn't matter however, because after making several failed pin attempts himself, Aryan von Raschke nails Brian Christopher with his own Sieg Heil! superkick for the win!
After they celebrate his win, the Baron delivers a promo on how his son is already the greatest Light Heavyweight Champ this company, nein this business has ever seen before ordering The Blitzkrieg to punish Brian Christopher further with a Muscle Buster; but Jacqueline Moore enters the ring and pleads for her man. For a moment it looks like "The Monster" will give Jackie one too, but Aryan instead gets his father's attention and leads them from the ring. Back from the break we're brought in front of the ECW banner where "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair in a white suit has the ECW Title draped over his shoulder as he stands by with "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard as he talks with ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels about his match tonight with their former ally "Blackjack" Barry Windham! He calls Windham a Judas and that he hopes he spent his thirty pieces of silver brother, because the buck stops there. Cause Barry did the unthinkable when he crossed the very best in this sport, a veritable God of this industry and if he thinks he's gonna equate that silver to gold he's dreaming sister. Cause tonight he's gonna show "Blackjack" what happens when you betray the one true Lord "Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Woooo! And you better believe that when the smoke clears and Ric steps down from the mountain it's gonna be with the ECW Title firmly around his waste!Match: Tully Blanchard w/ Arn Anderson vs. Michele Starr w/ Joe E. LegendReferee: S.D. Jones The wily and flambouyant "Gorgeous" Michele Starr does his best here to steal a win over Tully Blanchard, but the Horseman has the match well in hand throughout before finishing Starr off with a piledriver. When Michele's new tag-team partner Joe E. Legend gets involved, he eats a knuckle sandwich from "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson for his troubles.Match: Chris Benoit vs. Dean MalenkoReferee: Danny Davis Davis just gets the match underway, but Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko don't even have time to lock up before..."White Train" by Tito & Tarantula hits! And out from the back swaggers ECW President Eric Bischoff who has Ronnie Garvin and his security team with him. He says that he's sorry to interrupt, but before this match gets underway he has an announcement to make. And that is he's been keeping a close eye on "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit's antics both inside and outside the ring since he got here. And over the past several weeks Benoit has gone to far! He won't have wrestlers putting their hands of officials and to make this point perfectly clear for those who don't understand him; starting today he is suspending Chris Benoit!
Benoit is fuming and hops out of the ring before plodding up the ramp toward the ECW President! But before he can get close, Garvin's security team pounces on him! "The Crippler" does his best to fend them off and takes down several of them before the numbers game catches up to him and he ends up getting dragged to the back screaming at Bischoff by Garvin and co.!
After this is done, Bischoff apologizes to Dean Malenko who gets a microphone from Joel Gertner. "Mean" Dean says he wouldn't mind busting Benoit's head open. But seeing as that isn't happening tonight he has a request. Because there's somone whom Malenko would like to find out just how "Mean" he is sooner rather than later. And that man is, "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle! Bischoff says he's got it and then calls for Vyle to get his ass out here!"Fucking Hostile" by Pantera then hits and out from the back storms Mongo Vyle with Rhino in tow! Before he can get in the ring, Davis warns Rhino to stay outside while Vyle explodes into the ring and begins trading punches with Malenko! The two men are slugging it out, when Dean gets the drop on Mongo whom he hurls into the corner and going up to the second rope begins pounding on! 1! 2! 3! 4! 5! 6!
Mongo pulls Malenko up off his feet and plants him with a sitout spinebuster! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!....Match: Dean Malenko vs. Mongo Vyle w/ RhinoReferee: Danny Davis Okerlund apologizes for the commercial interruption of this unplanned match. Inside the ring Dean Malenko is back in control and running Vyle into the corner begins slamming his head into the top turnbuckle! While Malenko whips "The Mauler" across the ring, Gene brings up a split screen where we see Dean Malenko regain control of the match by dropping Mongo to his knees with a toe hold which he follows up with a springboard dropkick off the second rope! Inside the ring Vyle has hit the ropes and on the rebound "Mean" Dean attacks him with a rolling cross armbreaker! Vyle is screaming in pain and looks like he's on the verge of tapping when...
"The Man-Beast" Rhino charges the ring and stomps Malenko freeing his Destruction Inc. partner! Davis calls for a DQ while the two men then put the boots to Dean. After several seconds Vyle orders Rhino out of the ring and he returns with a table! Together they set it up before dragging Malenko to the corner where they superplex him through it! Just then Ronnie Garvin returns on the ramp with his security team as ECW goes to..."Mean" Gene and Lanny welcome us back from the break before reminding us that next week's show will be coming to us live from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah and while some tickets are still available for that show, those folks not in the area should tune in right here on Eastern Championship's home station TNN The Nashville Network to catch all the ECW action live! Before then though they want us to be right here this Saturday night for another episode of ECW Weekend Warriors where they've gotten word both the ECW Light Heavyweight Champ Aryan von Raschke and the Women's Champ Tiffany will be in action!Match: Randy Savage vs. Erin O'GradyReferee: S.D. Jones "Macho Man" Randy Savage seems a bit dejected as he comes down to the ring with "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs, which may be a contributing factor in why "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady does so well against him early on in the match getting a two count off a corner springboard bulldog he hits after tossing a surprised Savage with a hurrancanrana! Savage however seems to wake up and after a short back and forth contest he leaps up onto the top rope from the apron, taking O'Grady down with a leaping clothesline that changes the course of the match in his favor. From there Rany Savage dominates Erin O'Grady, at one point choking him out with the bottom rope before finally finishing him off with a Piledriver. After the match the announcers talk a bit about Chris Benoit who was escorted from the building after being suspended earlier in the evening. Apparently he didn't go quietly as we're brought to footage backstage where he's being led down the hallway by Garvin and his security team when they pass by Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes who're talking with Beulah McGillicutty.Seeing them sets Benoit off again however and he breaks free of security's grip and attacks the Tag-Team Champions! Dustin and Tommy aren't having it however and fight back until security once again subdues "The Canadian Crippler." But Benoit breaks free again! And grabbing Dreamer begins choking him out from behind! "The Rugged One" and his security team are right on top of it though and immediately pull Chris off, dragging him down the hallway kicking and screaming. As he is carted out of the building Beulah comments on how crazy "The Crippler" is while Dreamer and Rhodes just shake their head in seeming relief.Back from the break Dave Prazak is already inside the ring with "Mr. Wednesday Night Rob Van Dam. He now also has "Mr. Wrestling" Steve Corino and Jason Venom with him as he tells us about his new clients. He says that Venom is one of the biggest big men in the sport today and should be dominating any company he is in, however to ECW booking he seems an afterthought! But that isn't even the greatest crime perpetrated by this company. Oh no. Because inside the ring with him today is not only a former ECW Champion, but the youngest Heavyweight Champion in this industry's history! The future of the sport! "Mr. Wrestling" Steve Corino! Someone for whom getting matches shouldn't be a problem. Someone who should be a staple in the Title picture. A man who one the Eastern Heavyweight Championship at only 22 years old. A man who not only beat "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson for the Title, but "Macho Man" Randy Savage as well! Where is this man's accolades? Where is his t-shirts? His action figures? His souvenir mugs? Dave Prazak is going to tell you where. They're buried. In a land fill! Along with this young superstar's career, because ECW management is too busy promoting 47 year old "Nature BOYS" and savages who're more interested in promoting meat by-products than winning wrestling matches! Well Prazak has news for all of us. He isn't going to stand for it and neither are the men assembled in this ring! These injustices will end starting today!Tag-Team Match: Steve Corino & Jason Venom vs. The Hughes BrothersReferee: Danny DavisPrazak and Rob Van Dam remain at ringside for Steve Corino and Jason Venom's match. The fans are squarely in the corner of the Hughes Brothers, who take the fight right to the former Omega Horsemen members, with little Spike hitting his corner springboard cutter on "Mr. Wrestling" and Devon Hughes laying Venom flat with a big spinebuster! Testify!
Everytime they get some momentum going however either Prazak or RVD (who points to his shoulders getting the fans to chant his name throughout the match) interfere and kill it. In the ring with Spike Hughes, Jason Venom throws him about like a ragdoll for a bit and hits several power moves which Spike keeps resiliently kicking out of before finally making the hot tag to Devon! Hughes fairs well for a while, bu Jason tags in Steve Corino and the duo double team him for a bit. Steve Corino finally ends the match after dropping Devon Hughes to his knees with a chop block and running the ropes nails him with the Sliding C Special lariat. When Okerlund ponders what the C stands for, "The Genius" tells him Corino of course."Blackjack" Barry Windham is with "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango, "The Dark Propher" Brimstone and the rest of the Dark Circle as mist fills the air. Windham says that he didn't "betray" anybody. That he simply woke up. Spending time with the Four Horsemen was a joke. He was never going to go anywhere. Never get a shot at a Title. But now look at him, part of the most dominant cabal in wrestling today. So he doesn't care what the fans or his former "friends" call him: traitor, judas, turncoat; because after tonight they can add one more name to that list. ECW Champion!Match: William Regal vs. Yoshihiro TajiriReferee: S.D. Jones William Regal and Yoshihiro Tajiri pull out all the stops in this one, nailing one another with several suplexes and submission holds throughout. As usual "The Japanese Buzzsaw" gets in alot of his unorthodox offense including the handspring back elbow, a springboard hurrancanrana off the top rope; and a Shining Wizard that looks to have taken the Eastern States Champion's head clean off. Sir William however keeps on fighting back, giving as good as he gets with a Knee Trembler running knee lift to Tajiri's head, a European uppercut; and even trapping Yoshihiro in the Regal Stretch arm trap coss-legged STF for a bit before his opponent reaches the ropes. Tajiri's manager Mr. Fuji nearly becomes the deciding factor later in the match when Regal goes for a powerbomb and the ref distracts him, allowing "The Buzzsaw" to hit a float-over DDT on the Champ! Both men are looking pretty worn out when the end finally comes when William Regal catches Yoshihiro Tajiri from behind and nails the Regal-Plex bridging leg hook belly to back suplex for the three count.
After the break William Regal gets on the microphone and tells us that he doesn't care who wins Eric Bischoff's little tourney. Because the end result will be the same. He'll walk away the Eastern States Champion! But he hopes from Brimstone's sake that he does win it, because he already has one hell of a beating coming his way. And he'd hate to see him ending up getting two. Cheerio.Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's huge Main Event. They talk about the Four Horsemen's arrival in ECW coming to the aide of "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson last year leading to a brutal War Games match between them and the now defunct Omega Horsemen. They won the match and were set to move on to bigger and better things as a force to be reckoned with in Eastern Championship; taking on and often defeating all-comers. This led to May 2nd, 1996 at ECW's Pay Per-View event Hardcore Heaven '96 earlier this month where "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair defeated then Champ "Ravishing" Rick Rude to win the ECW Championship! All was not well in the Horsemen's camp however as earlier that night one of the Horsemen's own "Blackjack" Barry Windham cost them the win in a six-man Tag-Team match when Windham betrayed Anderson and Tully Blanchard by nailing both men with lariats. Since then the ECW Champ "Nature Boy" Ric Flair has wanted revenge at any cost, even going so far as to put his newly won Eastern Heavyweight Championship on the line! And that match takes place right here tonight!
Mist then fills the arena as the lights go out and voodoo drums begin to pound. A strobe flickers and on the stage is...
Gertner: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the Eastern Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first from the Sweetwater, Texas weighing in at 280 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango; he is the challenger; "Blackjack" Barry Windham!
Windham takes to the ring and poses for the crowd until Also Sprach Zarathustra hits and out from the back storms "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair who isn't wearing his robe today as he heads to the ring with...
Gertner: And now introducing from Charlotte, North Carolina weighing 243 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson; he is the Eastern Heavyeight Champion "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair!ECW Championship Match: Ric Flair vs. Barry WindhamReferee: Danny Davis Ric Flair enters the ring and doesn't even wait for Davis to start the match, when Barry Windham starts talking trash to him he chops him across the face! Windham leaps on Flair, grabbing him in a headlock and pounds on him, but "Naitch" runs him back into the ropes and whips him across the ring. On the rebound however Flair hits a brick wall in Windham and Barry runs the ropes looking for the lariat; but Ric drops to the floor allowing Barry to pass right over him. And on the second pass Flair leapfrogs Windham before trying for a hip toss on the third; only to be countered by Windham to hurls Ric down to the mat with a hip toss of his own. And when Flair pops back up he charges right into a body slam!
Flair rolls out of the ring and he's talking strategy with Arn Anderson at ringside while Barry Windham makes it clear he wants his ass back inside the ring. Finally Flair gets back up onto the apron where he takes his time getting back in before Barry Windham catches him and pulls him over the ropes, throwing him back into the ring! And he stomps Flair out a bit before trapping "Naitch" in a headlock! Okerlund suggests Flair stop playing games here or we may very well be looking at a new Champ here tonight. Barry however keeps Ric down every time he tries to rally back, transitioning the headlock to an armbar, then an armwrench when necessary. Finally however "Nature Boy" gets some momentum going and pushing "Blackjack" into the corner, begins unloading on him! But it's short-lived as Barry kicks Flair in the gut. Barry attempts to keep on Flair once again, but Ric fights back and ends up capturing Windham briefly in a headlock. The two men trade several holds before Barry Windham finally locks Ric Flair in a Clawhold!
Flair screams in pain down on his knees, but refuses to surrender, finally pushing Windham off and takes him down to one knee with a chop block. He's unable to capitalize further however, instead catching his breath before the two men once again circle about the ring before locking it up. Barry Windham catches Flair in another headlock, using his superior size to work over the Champ's neck before Flair manages to back into the ropes breaking the hold. The second Davis breaks it up though Ric attacks Barry! But "Blackjack" catches him and whips him hard into the corner sending him up onto it and down back into the ring where Barry begins putting the boots to the Champ! When the ref complains however, Barry grabs "Nature Boy" and punishes him further with an arm wrench! Not for long though, because Ric connects with a knee to the gut! He then chops Barry down flat on his back! "Blackjack" is right back up however and the two men begin trading punches in the middle of the ring! Flair is taking the brunt of it however and escapes into the corner pleading him off.
Barry Windham then mugs for the crowd a bit, laughing at Flair when Ric attacks him from behind! He whips Barry into the ropes, but on the rebound "Blackjack" connects with a sunset flip! 1!... 2!...
Flair kicks out! Both men are soon back up and once again locked up, when Flair uses a headlock takedown on Barry, only to get trapped in a head scissors by Windham. He once again works on the Champ's neck while Ric struggles to free himself which he eventually does. "Naitch" attempts several unsuccessful and unorthodox holds in an attempt to keep Windham down, using the ropes for leverage whenever he can get away with it. Eventually however he's unable to keep Barry down and struggles with the big man who ends up in the corner where Flair lets him have it with a chop! Windham however returns the favor with a hard right! Flair lets loose with several chops! But Barry is hammering back now! And "Blackjack" continues to hit them home while Flair looks like he doesn't know what state he's in! And he hits the mat hard!
Barry isn't done however and pulls Flair up to his knees and begins raining down the punches! Flair smacks him off and staggers back into the corner where Windham just follows him in and begins pounding away once again! And when Davis gets Barry to back off, Flair falls down on his ass in the corner. And as Ric gets back up to his feet, Barry knocks him right back down with another hard right before turning Flair over and locks in the Boston Crab! This could be it! Davis is asking Flair if it is, but "Naitch" keeps shaking his head as he attempts to inch his way toward the ropes! Barry keeps pulling Ric away however, but finally Flair grabs it...
but "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango rolls into the ring distracting Danny Davis! And into the ring comes "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson right after him! The ref orders them to leave which they do as quick as they entered; but it's given Barry Windham enough time to pull Ric Flair screaming back into the ring! But "The Nature Boy" still isn't quitting! And he attempts to turn himself over, but fails. And tries it again! But fails again. On the third time however Flair does it and tossing Barry Windham off of him!
Ric is in pain and crawling toward the ropes but Windham isn't cutting him any slack and as he helps Flair up to his feet he elbows him in the midsection before dropping him with a vertical suplex! And Barry makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Flair got his foot up onto the bottom rope! Barry can't believe it and pulls Flair up by his hair before locking in an abdominal stretch! Flair is screaming in pain and Okerlund is saying that somebody should stop this before "Nature Boy" is permanently injured here. But Ric begins rallying back and takes Barry up and over with a snapmare! The ECW Champ then collapses on the floor as Windham gets back up to his feet. He whips Flair into the corner and charges in only to get kicked in the nuts by Flair! Both men are now having trouble getting to their feet, but it's Ric who's up first and lifting Barry Windham into the air gets taken right back down with a lateral press and another two count! The announcers begin talking about how the ECW Champ can't seem to catch a break in this one, when an obvously frustrated Flair runs Barry Windham into the ropes and throws him out of the ring!
Flair catches a breather before joining Windham on the outside where he takes "Blackjack" to chop city! He beats Barry into the guardrail before clobbering his head into it! He'd probably have gone farther too, had he not been suddenly attacked from behind by Papa Shango! And clobbering Flair for a bit, "The Soul Stealer" whips Ric hard back first into the ring! Arn Anderson however isn't having anymore of this and pounces on Shango, clobbering him about the ring while Ric Flair slides back inside and lies on his back for a bit.
Barry Windham is having trouble getting back into the ring and is noticeably busted open while Davis gets midway through the 10 count! "Blackjack" crawls his way up onto the apron where Ric helps him up before hitting him with a hairpull hangman on the inside. Windham drops and rolls into the ring where Ric grabs him by the head and pulls him up to his knees where he hammers away on his bloody face! Ric drops his challenger with a snapmare before heading into the corner to build momentum as he nails a kneedrop to the head of Windham! And then another! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
But Barry kicks out! Ric then picks Barry up and putting him in the corner begins beating the hell out of him! Windham however is looking to escape and heads to the middle of the ring where Flair drops him with another snapmare before running the ropes and hitting another knee drop! This time into the canvas as Barry gets out of the way! And Barry is back up and grabbing the Champ's legs locks in the figure four! He's looking to beat "The Nature Boy" with his own move! And Flair is screaming in pain! Ric attempts to turn Windham over to counter the move, bu Barry keeps fighting it. Barry is putting the pressure on however and Flair still refuses to submit! He's reaching for the ropes, but isn't close enough!
But Ric inches his way closer...
And he gets it! Davis is ordering Windham to break the hold, but it takes "Blackjack" a while to do so. Flair crawls into the corner and he's begging Windham off as the challenger comes in after him! Windham grabs Ric by the foot to pull him into the ring, but Flair grabs the ropes! Another yank however has "The Nature Boy" back in the middle of the ring where Windham begins punishing Flair's now injured leg with several elbow drops! And knee drops! He's looking to breaks Ric's leg! And climbing on top of Ric he begins hammering his skull in! And pulling him up to his knees; "Blackjack" lets "Naitch" have it with a vicious headbutt! And now Flair has broken open! Barry makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Flair kicks out just before the 3! Barry begins punching Ric's head in! There's blood everywhere! Ric gains himself some room by pushing Windham away and crawls to the ropes where Barry Windham kicks the crap out of him some more and hiptosses him back into the middle of the ring! Flair staggers back up to his feet and "Blackjack" runs in for a dropkick! But Ric falls back out of his way into the corner! Both men are down but it's Ric Flair who hobbles up to his feet first! And lifting Windham up to his feet he attempts a suplex! But it gets blocked! He tries again, only to once again get denied when Barry Windham rolls him up into a small package! 1!... 2!...
Flair kicks out! And it's Flair who's up first again. Barry is up right after him, but soon finds himself dropped by another snapmare before getting himself locked into a headscissors by the Champ! Windham is fighting to free himself! But he begins to fade! He gets free though and traps the Champ in a headlock! But Ric is rallying back! He's staggering up to his feet and grabbing Barry Windham up into the air hits a side suplex! And "The Nature Boy" is up on his feet! Woooo! He's styling! He's profiling! And he's strutting about the ring! Ric Flair grabs Barry Windham by the legs and locks in the figure four leglock! Barry is is fighting it though! He's attempting to turn Flair over! And he's gonna do it!
But Ric Flair keeps the hold and Barry Windham taps out! Flair has retained the ECW Championship! He has trouble getting to his feet and into the ring pounces "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango! But into the ring charges "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson who wards off any further attacks by him or Windham, raising "The Nature Boy's" hand in victory as the...

Jeff Hardy makes the save however and the match is a good showcase for the Hardy Boyz' unorthodoz moveset as they hit Jimmy Cicero with the Poetry in Motion in the corner followed by a Twist of Fate from Matt for a two count and later Jeff wiping out both Wiseguys when he charges across the ring and lands a plancha on the duo. Matt Hardy spends the last of the match working over Guido Falcone before having to tag in his brother when the big man drops him with a powebomb countering a hurrancanrana and pummels him in the corner a bit. Jeff Hardy explodes on Falcone however and finishes him off with the Whisper in the Wind for the three count. After the match the Hardy Boyz join ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels in front of the ECW banner where Matt and Jeff tell her that the Wiseguys just learned a lesson in the Extreme!Match: Aryan von Raschke vs. Sean Royal The cocky ECW Lightweight Champion Aryan von Raschke shows off his Title to the booing fans as he heads down to ringside with the Baron and The Blitzkrieg. He doesn't need either man however to beat up Sean Royal however, hitting him with both a side Russian legsweep and DDT; both times arrogantly not making the cover to the annoyance of the fans before Sean Royal schoolboys him from behind! 1!... 2!...
Aryan kicks out! And he's pissed! While Royal does some fighting back, von Raschke once again dominates as he hammers Sean Royal into the floor, stomps him out for a bit; and hoisting him to his feet hits a sitout powerbomb for the win.
After the match we're taken to a video clip featuring snippets from matches that took place this past Wednesday on the main show. We see Aryan von Raschke nails Brian Christopher with a Sieg Heil! superkick, Tully Blanchard flatten Michele Starr with a Piledriver, Chris Benoit's encounter with Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes backstage before he is dragged off, Destruction Inc. superplex Dean Malenko through a table, Randy Savage hitting a springboard clothesline off the top rope onto Erin O'Grady, Jason Venom sending Devon Hughes to the chiropractor with a huge spinebuster, William Regal land the Regal-Plex on Yoshihiro Tajiri, Barry Windham punishing the ECW Champ Ric Flair in a Boston Crab; and finally Flair retaining the Title against Windham with the figure four leglock! She has proven her win at Hardcore Heaven was not a fluke and dedicates her recent success to the good people of Mexico!Match: Tiffany vs. Rockin' Robin Tiffany and Rockin' Robin have a good back and forth contest which comes to an end when Tiffany nails Robin with an Iconoclasm off the top. Tiffany then poses with her Title for the fans. After the match we're taken back stage for Honky Tonk Man's first ever "Shake, Rattle; and Roll" segment where he invites us to rock' n roll with the one and only Ray Charles as everybody does the "Mess Around!"Ray Charles .. Mess AroundBuck Zumhoff and the Honky Tonk Man welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's main event which will see two top contenders fight it out (HTM asks if Buck is suggesting Royal wasn't a top contender) with former Eastern States Champion "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam squaring off against "The Silent Assassin" Steve Blackman here in New Jersey! Blackman's music then hits...
Gertner: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Annville, Pennsylvania, weighing 246 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by Captain Lou Albano, he is "The Silent Assassin" Steve Blackman!
Blackman enters the ring and gives a demonstration with his kendo sticks while Lou Albano joins an unenthusiastic Zumhoff and HTM as ringside. They "thank" him for joining them and The Captain hypes up his man as the true future of his sport, saying that he's a master of 64 fighting styles and can decimate anyone in the ring. He then puts over Rob Van Dam as being a bum from the slums. He says that the only good thing that ever came out of Michigan was KISS. "Poundcake" by Van Halen then hits.
Gertner: And now introducing his challenger this evening from Battle Creek, Michigan weighing 235 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by David Prazak; he is "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam!Match: Rob Van Dam w/ Dave Prazak vs. Steve Blackman Inside the ring Rob Van Dam points to his shoulders as he poses and walks around while they chant his name. This goes on a bit overly long and the chants get lower and lower. As the two competitors kick things off (literally) in the ring, Buck and Honky talk about both men's martial arts backgrounds and both their managers big mouths. Albano who's still at ringside takes offense to this. Inside the ring the action is fast paced with lots of holds and reversals as the two men continually try to one up each other. They use a variety of kicks before Rob Van Dam scores the first true hit when he runs Steve Blackman into the corner and connects with a monkey flip! From there RVD runs across the ring and drops Steve with a crossbody before running the ropes and landing a springboard moonsault on Blackman for a two count. Steve isn't going down so easy and though Rob tries to keep him down with a head scissors, "The Silent Assassin" rallies back and gaining some room with a thrust kick, runs the ropes and connects with a scissors kick for a two count of him own!
The action continues to go back and forth with Van Dam making several more pin attempts after hitting a cross body press, a spinning heel kick; and a springboard corkscrew legdrop. Blackman reliates in kind with a crucifix armbar, a fisherman's suplex; and a vicious looking brainbuster. Steve makes the cover while his manager Captain Lou continues to annoy the commentary team who wonder if he's concerned about leaving David Prazak along at ringside during the match. Albano doesn't however, saying that Prazak is a gentleman. Gentle like a lamb Albano can slaughter if he so wishes. Rob however just kicks out of the brainbuster! But he's in trouble as Steve lets him have it with several kicks, wearing down "Mr. Wednesday Night." But when he whips Rob into the ropes and goes for a roundhouse kick, Van Dam slides under the kick, bounces up; hits the ropes and takes Blackman down with a leapfrog bulldog on the rebound! From there he rallies back and takes the fight to Steve Blackman who he hits with a fireman's carry slam. Rob Van Dam then runs the ropes and hits a springboard moonsault off the second rope onto Steve Blackman for the three count causing Albano to choke on his gum.
Prazak enters the ring and raises Van Dam's hand in victory before he begins posing for the fans as he points to his shoulders and they chant his name as the...

Legend connects with an electic chair facebuster on "The Ring Master" following interference from "Gorgeous" Michele Starr which "Mean" Gene says should come with a blur bar. Lanny claims Starr should just have a blur bar fixed on him permanently as the menacingly Pogo the Clown takes off after "The Gorgeous One." Jeff rallies back and hits the Whisper in the Wind for two and a sitout jawbreaker for another. The end comes when suddenly Jim Brunzell hops up onto the apron apparently bragging about how they have figures and the Hardys don't. Jeff Hardy grabs the figure Brunzell is holding and hurls it into the audience before pushing him off the apron and turns right into a roll up by B. Brian Blair who traps him in the small package for the three! Brian then hops out of the ring and celebrates with Brunzell as we're taken to...A promo down in the boiler room of The Delta Center where a fired up Brimstone cuts a promo on how the Eastern States Champion William Regal may talk a good game, but in the end even he fears the Reaper!Match: Brian Lawler w/ Jacqueline vs. Spike Hughes w/ Devon HughesReferee: S.D. "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle is as tough as they come and runs havoc on "The American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes early on, plowing him down with several body avalanches and nailing him with a bionic elbow before hitting a standing splash for the first cover which gets him a close two. Dustin Rhodes however rallies back and the match evens out with both men battling back and forth; Mongo getting another two count after hitting the Mongo Masher sitout full nelson atomic drop and Dustin Rhodes getting one of his own following a running bulldog. From there "The Nightmare" treats Mongo to a sleeper hold which Okerlund says is the best in the business, but it gets broken up by "The Man-Beast" Rhino! Tommy Dreamer is quick to come to his partner's aide however and he and Rhino's brawl quickly spills to the outside.
Inside the ring Mongo Vyle regains control of the match however and stomps Dustin out before throwing him around the ring a bit. When he attempts a running body avalanche into the corner however, Dustin Rhodes connects with a kick to the face and hopping up onto the second rope drops "The Mauler" with a flying bionic elbow! Things have calmed down at ringside while Mongo and Dustin battle it out again with Dustin hitting a DDT and Mongo a sidewalk slam; both of which fail to put their opponent away. Vyle has regained control however and is pounding Dustin about the ring when there's another disturbance at ringside?! Only this time it's Dean Malenko! And he's hammering away on Rhino! Mongo Vyle stops pounding the stuffing out of Rhodes in the corner and looks pissed when Dustin grabs him and thows him into the corner before running into the middle of the ring while the ref is distracted and connects with a running kick to the groin! Vyle hits the canvas hard and Dusin Rhodes makes the cover! 1! 2! 3! Rhodes has won it! He and Dreamer celebrate the win with a drink from Dustin's flask as we go to... ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels is in front of the ECW banner talking with the ECW Heavyweight Champ "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Woo! He has Arn and Tully with him and he tells us how The Four Horsemen have been running wild here in Eastern Championship! Well, yes Terri you're absolutely right. There are only three Horsemen. They should really correct that. But that ain't what they're thinking about right now baby. Windham is old news. Beat him last week and dumped him like a bad habit. Next week however is exciting! Next week ECW is in Las Vegas baby! And the Horsemen plan to eat caviar! They plans to play the stakes and do whatever it takes! Corino nearly gets the win for his team when he hits Aryan von Raschke with the Sliding C Special lariat; but Von Raschke rallies back and tags in The Blitzkrieg who ends up hitting Steve Corino with the Muscle Buster for the three count. Back from the break we're taken backstage where Steve Corino has an icepack on his neck and complains to Dave Prazak about their loss out there. Just then however the arrogant "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam approaches the trio and interrupts telling Prazak that as the longest reigning Eastern States Champion, he wants in on the Tournament to determine the #1 contender. David beams however when he tells Van Dam that won't be a problem, because he already made that happen! Van Dam gets his match next week! Rob shakes his head approvingly as Prazak turns back to Corino and Jason Venom telling them that his job it to only get them the opportunity, not win the matches for them.Match: Dean Malenko vs. RhinoReferee: Danny Davis A video clip is shown of Destruction Inc. putting Dean through the table last week. He's pissed as he stalks about the ring until "Fucking Hostile" by Pantera hits and out from the back comes "The Man-Beast" Rhino with Mongo Vyle in tow. Vyle is talking trash to Malenko as he heads down the ramp and as they get toward the ring, "Mean" Dean charges across the ring and launches himself out with a tope dive onto Destruction Inc.! He has the advantage early on as he takes the fight to the duo, but soon the two large men are pounding away on Malenko whom Mongo whips hard into the steel barricade where Rhino connects with The Gore striking spear! Dean looks to begins to pull a table out from under the ring when..."Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam charges out from the back?! He hits a spinning heel kick on the table Mongo is carrying, smashing "The Mauler" back into the ring! Alone with Rhino now, Dean Malenko takes him down with a toe hold and begins hammering him with knee drops and punches before pulling him up to his feet and hits him with a snap suplex on the outside! He makes the cover and picks up the win.
With Rhino defeated and Mongo down, Rob Van Dam enters the ring to raise Malenko's hand, but Dean brushes him off. Rob shrugs and climbing the turnbuckle points to his shoulders as the fans chant his name while Dean Malenko rolls out of the ring and heads to the back.Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's Main Event, which is the second match in the Tournament to determine the # 1 contender for the Eastern States Championship where "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone is set to take on "The U.K. Kidd" Douglas Williams. They put over the two men and "The American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes who qualified to enter the second round of the Tournament earlier this evening. They then remind us that the third match in the series will take place on ECW Weekend Warriors and will see "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch battle it out with "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady. So don't miss it. The lights then go out and voodoo drums begin to sound as mist fills the arena.
Gertner: The following Tournament match is scheduled for one fall, with the winner moving on to the second round. Introducing first accompanied to the ring by "The Sou Stealer" Papa Shango weighing 290 lbs.; from Devil's Island he is "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone!
Inside the ring Brimstone stalks about the ring and makes S.D. Jones nervous as Papa Shango hams it up with some voodoo shenanigans riling up the crowd. "God Save the Queen" by The Sex Pistols then plays.
Gertner: And now headed to the ring from Manchester, England weighing 225 lbs.; his opponent "The U.K. Kidd" Douglas Williams!Main Event Tournament Match # 2: Brimstone w/ Papa Shango vs. Douglas WilliamsReferee: S.D. Jones "The U.K. Kidd" Douglas Williams is hungry for a Title and holds his own against "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone early on with his fast-paced, sometimes high-flying style. Brimstone however is alot faster than he looks and after flooring Williams with a big boot, he heads out onto the apron and waits for "The Kidd" to get to his feet before slingshoting himself over the top rope and takes Douglas Williams head off with a massive clothesline for the 1! 2!...
Williams kicks out?! Brimstone can't believe it and stomps his opponent out before locking in an inverted Boston Crab! He only uses it to punish Doug however and proceeds to throw him about the ring. He needs no help dominating his opponent from Papa Shango who "summons the spirits" at ringside.
Whipping "The U.K. Kidd" hard into the corner, he runs in with a clothesline! But Doug catches "The Dark Prophet" with a boot to the face! And hopping up to the second rope he strikes with a double axe handle! But Brimstone catches him by the throat in mid-air and puts him away with a Chokeslam from Hell! He then makes the cover and picks up the win.
