4/3/96 - Key Arena Seattle, WA"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington for another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling! They then talk a bit about last week's show focusing on the Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer's successful Title defense against The Nasty Boys and the huge Main Event in which ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude defeated "Macho Man" Randy Savage with the Title on the line. With a slight assist from "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango of course.
Rick Rude has no time to celebrate however as in tonight's own monstrous Main Event; "Ravishing" Rick Rude will now defend the Title against the very man who helped him last week; "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango! Lanny wonders whay kind of game Shango is playing at. Okerlund isn't sure, but gurantees it isn't the good kind. They then run down the rest of tonight's card which will see former partners Junk Yard Dog and Dick Murdoch square off in what is quickly becoming a heated rivalry. Also tonight, the Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer will be in non-Title action as will the ECW Light Heavyweight Champion Cousin Jamie! Poffo says that surely Gene means the "Double" Lightweight Champs; but Okerlund says he can assure him he didn't.Just then "White Train" by Tito & Tarantula hits and out from the back swaggers ECW President Eric Bischoff who reminds us that when "Easy E" is in the ring it can only mean one thing; that business is at hand! And he has alot of business here tonight. First up as we all know by now; this Saturday night ECW's new show ECW Weekend Warriors will premiere right here on TNN The Nashville Network! So be sure to check your local listings. However he has new news as well which he promises is just as huge! And that's the announcement of ECW's next Pay-Per View! Coming On May 2nd will be ECW Hardcore Heaven '96! He has no matches to announce at present; but can assure us of one thing. All seven matches will be huge! And all of them will have some of the most brutal stipulations in this business! More on that in the week's to come. And finally he has one last piece of business to announce. And it's that he thinks it's pretty obvious to everyone here and the folks at home that things have been getting pretty out of hand here at ECW of late. Between The Dark Circle, the Four Horsemen; and "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit the body toll has really been mounting. So to help prevent such things in the future he's hired someone to keep everyone in line backstage. Because while Eric Bischoff is a third degree black belt; he needs a little help now and then. To that end he's hired a new Head of Security! And that man is..."Rugged" Ronnie Garvin steps out from the back and joins Eric inside the ring. He thanks Eric for the opportunity before addressing the fans. He says that he's sure alot of people out there have noticed the inevitable. "The Rugged One" is getting pretty old. And to be honest, when he got put down with that Chokeslam from Hell a couple week's ago he felt it. But Garvin isn't going to be giving any tear jerking speeches. The chapter of his life as a professional wrestler is now over. But he's still got alot to offer. He's still one tough son of a bitch and he's warning anyone in the back from here on out. You get out of line? And you'll have an appointment with "The Hands of Stone."Match: Yoshihiro Tajiri vs. Devon Hughes Yoshihiro Tajiri has seemed charged up of late and as he steps into the ring with with Devon Hughes we see this in no exception. The two men tear into one another, pulling out all the stops with Tajiri hitting a handspring back elbow, a roundhouse kick and a springboard hurrancanrana off the top rope as he makes several pin attempts. Devon proves to be no slouch hitting his 360 corkscrew back elbow smash, an inverted DDT; and a thrust spinebuster on "The Japanese Buzzsaw." At ringside Spikes Hughes thwarts Mr. Fuji's attempts to interfere throughout. Battling Devon into the corner Tajiri climbs up to the second rope and rains down several punches on Hughes before sending him sailing with a monkey flip! As Devon Hughes lands on his ass and bounces up to his feet; Yoshihiro Tajiri goes up top and leaps off with missile dropkick taking his opponent's head off. He hooks the leg and picks up the win from referee Danny Davis.After the match we're taken to a promo by Lord William Regal who tells us that back at King of the Mountain Brimstone had his day. But this Saturday on ECW Weekend Warriors that day is done when he regains the Eastern States Championship! Back from break Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer who's still in a neckbrace talk to ECW correspondent Terri Runnels in front of the ECW banner about their recent defeat of The Nasty Boys. They put Knobs and Sags over as one of the toughest teams in wrestling; but tell Terri they've proved themselves to be the tougher of the two. But now with them out of the way; it's time to get Nasty with a continual thorn in their side. And that thorn goes by the name of "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit!Match: Cousin Jamie w/ Doug Gilbert vs. Douglas Williams "The U.K. Kidd" Douglas Williams does his best against the "Double" Lightweight Champs as he squares off with Cousin Jamie. He does well early on; but the constant interference of Doug Gilbert takes it's toll and Cousin Jamie pulls off the win with a belly to back suplex on a distracted Douglas Williams to get the win while Danny Davis makes the count.Match: Dustin Rhodes w/ Tommy Dreamer vs. Steve Corino w/ Jason Venom Dustin Rhodes brings his Tag-Team partner Tommy Dreamer to the ring as he faces off against former ECW Champ "Mr. Wrestling" Steve Corino. The two men have a good back and forth contest with Dustin dominating Corino at several points and goes for the pin following a running bulldog, a diving clothesline; and a snap scoop powerslam. Though Steve has gotten in a good amount of offense of his own; he's clearly playing defense when Chris Benoit's music hits?! Benoit appears on the ramp distacting damn near everyone including referee S.D. Jones as he heads down to the ring.
But not Jason Venom who slides in and nails Dustin Rhodes with a running clothesline before sliding back out! And Corino makes the cover picking up the win!
Benoit isn't done however and meeting Tommy Dreamer halfway up the ramp begins slugging it out with him! Dreamer is holding his own until the sadistic "Canadian Crippler" begins focusing his attacks on Tommy's injured neck! With Tommy down; Chris Benoit removes his neckbrace and begins stomping him in the head and neck! Okerlund is disgusted saying Chris has gone too far with this. He's going to kill Dreamer. Lanny thinks that's exactly what he is intending to do however. Benoit keeps on stomping until finally Dustin Rhodes attacks him from behind with a steel chair! Chris goes down, but keeps trying to get up and it takes several shots with the chair until Benoit seems out of it. As ECW goes to commercial break the new head of security Ronnie Garvin appears on the ramp with several security guards and paramedics and takes the steel chair off a furious Rhodes."Mean" Gene and Lanny welcome us back from the break before reminding us that next week's show will be coming to us live from the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland Oregon! But first be sure to tune in this Saturday for the inaugural broadcast of ECW's newest show ECW Weekend Warriors where we'll see Lord William Regal battle the villainous Brimstone for the Eastern States Championship in the Main Event! They then inform us that the tickets for both these shows are sold out; but that those folks at home can can all the exciting action live on Eastern Championship Wrestling home station TNN The Nashville Network!Match: Junkyard Dog vs. Dick Murdoch Junkyard Dog has been itching to get his hands on his old buddy "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch and it shows here as the two men tear into one another before the match even starts. There's no real wrestling as the two men pound on one another with referee Danny Davis having to break them up several times. Midway through the match JYD has gotten the drop on Murdoch and hits him hard with a Thump! front powerslam! Before he can make the cover however a dazed Dick Murdoch hightails it out of the ring and stumbles up the ramp while JYD shouts for him to get his ass back inside the ring. He doesn't and Junkyard Dog win this one via Count Out. He's obviously not satisfied however.After the ring is cleared Rick Rude's strip theme hits and out from the back swaggers the ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude. He has the Title about his waist and shows it off to the crowd before telling everyone to "Shut the Hell up. The Champ is about to speak." He then tells them that he finds it ironic that this state has an old woman on their flag. Because he sould've heeded the warning that the state of Washington was full of hags with wooden teeth. He's sure that there's at least one woman in this audience who'd be a "5" anywhere else; so which one is it gonna be to help the Champ remove his robe?
Surprisingly he doesn't get too big a reaction after that speech, but he ends up selecting a woman from the audience whom he tells not to come to close to him. He doesn't want to get any splinters. She then removes his robe and he plants her with a Rude Awakening, kissing her deeply. He then sends her on her way. Rude then tells the fans that by and by, they may've noticed that last week he defeated everyone's "hero" the "Macho Man" Randy Savage. And that the Eastern States Championship is still around the waist of the one truly perfect Champion in this sport. "Ravishing" Rick Rude. And much like that little Martha Dandridge whom he just sent on her way the luckiest woman in this State; he's done with Savage. And tonight when he puts down "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango once and for all; he's moving on to new challengers. Because after tonight he'll have proven that he deserves this Title, that he not only won it two times; but successfully held it; and is the true ECW Heavyweight Champion!"The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango is apparently in the boiler room of the Key Arena with The Dark Circle where they sit under a harsh red light. Shango tells a different story than Rude. One of darkness and destruction! That tonight Papa Shango shall break the Champion and pave the way for The Dark Circle to dominate ECW forever! Matt Borne also has a say here laughing at the so-called Four Horsemen! He says that the Flair and his bunch of fools brag about "beating" The Dark Circle?! Well by his estimation this month they've defeated them 2-0! And Borne himself pinned the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Yes he did! Woooo!Tag-Team Match: Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson vs. Sex & Violence Everyone gets some ring time here as Joe E. Legend starts things off with Tully Blanchard. Legend and Sexton Hardcastle do surprisingly well against the veterans; but Tully and Arn Anderson keep control most of the match before nailing Sexton Hardcastle with the Double Spike Piledeiver! Arn makes the cover while S.D. Jones delivers the count.The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult, I vowed revenge. You, who so well know the nature of my soul, will not suppose, however, that I gave utterance to a threat. At length, I would be avenged; this was a point definitively settled--The Eastern States Champion Brimstone turns toward a startled Terri Runnels in front of the ECW banner. He delivers a promo mocking that fool William Regal, the former Eastern States Champion. He says that he put Regal down like a sick dog once. And this Saturday on ECW Weekend Warriors "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone shall do so again!Match: Chris Benoit vs. Steve Blackman Referee Danny Davis starts the match with "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit looking a little worse for wear. This gives "The Silent Assassin" Steve Blackman the advantage he needs and he doesn't waste it as he attempts to put Benoit down with first a thrust kick and laster his patented bridged Fisherman's suplex while his manager Captain Lou Albano rallies him on. Though down, Chris Benoit isn't out and dishes out just as much punishment as he recieves before finishing Steve Blackman off with a flying headbutt off the top. As Chris Benoit exits the ring however...Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer attack him! Hitting the floor Benoit gets a pretty good stomping before he battles his way up to his feet and starts slugging it out with both Rhodes and Dreamer! He soon has both of the Tag-Team Champs back-peddling and grabbing Dreamer by the arm whips him into the steel barricade where the "Innovator" tumbles over it and into the audience! Left along with him Chris Benoit manages to grab Dustin Rhodes from behind and exacts some revenge by taking him out with a half Nelson choke with bodyscissors! Dustin is turning blue by the time Ronnie Garvin makes it down to ringside with several security guards to break it up.Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's huge Main Event which will see the ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude defend his Title against the villainous "Soul Stealer" Papa Shango! They then outline the rivalry between the two men starting with Shango ruining Rude's chance to win the ECW Championship from "Macho Man" Randy Savage back on August 31st,1994. Rude would later return the favor at Hotter than Hell; after which Papa Shango wouldn't be seen in a wrestling ring for over a year! He finally returned on October 31st, Halloween night attacking then ECW Champ Rick Rude. And would continue to be a thorn in his side until winning the Title from "The Ravishing One" at Wrestle Annual 2! Rude has since regained the belt at King of the Mountain '96 in a Triple Threat match against Shango and Savage and retained the belt when Shango attempted to regain it. That may have been the end of it too, had Papa Shango not recently pinned Rick Rude in a Tag-Team Match earning himself this Title shot here tonight!
Voodoo drums then pound as the lights go out and mist fills the arena. Lighting crashes and on the ramp appears "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango!
Gertner: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the Eastern Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first the challenger from the Bowels of Hell, Delaware weighing 270 lbs.; he is "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango!
Shango hits the ring spooking S.D. Jones a bit as he gives some voodoo theatrics for the fans before Rick Rude's strip theme hits.
Gertner: And now introducing at this time weighing 251 lbs. from Robbinsdale, Minnesota he is the Eastern Heavyweight Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude!ECW Title Match: Rick Rude vs. Papa Shango "Ravishing" Rick Rude swaggers down to the ring and as he removes his belt to give to Jones, Papa Shango attacks him from behind! This affords Shango an early advantage and he works Rude over with several clotheslines. The ECW Champ however rallies back while trapped in a rear headlock and takes the fight right back to Shango! The two men battle it out with Rude getting a two count off a delayed backbreaker and at one point traps "The Soul Stealer" in the figure four! Shango however crawls his way to the ropes breaking the hold and goes on to get a two count of his own with a swinging neckbreaker.
The battle goes back and forth with Papa Shango getting a nearfall when he hits a sunset flip off the top rope on a stunned Rude. Rick kicks out just before the three however and goes on to get another two with a belly to back suplex. Back in control Shango goes for the Voodoo inverted shoulder breaker; but the Champ escapes and locks him in a sleeper! "The Soul Stealer" refuses to rest however! He battles back and this time hits the Voodoo Driver slingshot suplex! And he hooks the leg! 1!... 2!...
S.D. Jones has stopped the count? He's too busy arguing with "Macho Man" Randy Savage who just grabbed his leg on the outside! Rude kicks out! Papa Shango glares at Savage as he attempts to keep him down with an STF; but Rude battles out and battles his way back. From here he dominates Shango; beating the voodoo priest from pillar to post before nailing the Rude Awakening delayed hangman's neckbreaker! Rick Rude covers Papa Shango! And he picks up the win! Rick Rude remains the ECW Champion! Jones hands him the Title and raises his hand in victory as the...

4/10/96 - Veterans Memorial Coliseum Portland, OR"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to another exciting episode of Eastern Championship Wrestling this time coming to you live from the Veteran's Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon! Poffo says that the only good thing that's come out of Oregon is The Oregon Trail videogame. They then talk briefly about last week's show including "The Candian Crippler" Chris Benoit's ongoing feud with the Tag-Team Champs Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer, the Junk Yard Dog defeating the cowardly Dick Murdoch by Count Out and of course the huge Main Event in which ECW Champ "Ravishing" Rick Rude defeated "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango to retain the Title! With no small help from"Macho Man" Randy Savage Lanny reminds us. Gene agrees and says we're sure to hear more about all that and more here tonight! They then say they'd be remiss not to mention that this past Saturday on the inaugural broadcast of ECW Weekend Warriors Sir William Regal defeated "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone to regain the Eastern States Championship! They thank everyone who tuned in and made Weekend Warriors such a huge success and remind us that another episode will be airing each and every Saturday; and you never know what could happen! So be sure to keep watching! They then run down tonight's big card which will see "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit go one on one with "The American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes, the new Eastern States Champion William Regal will be in action as well; and in the huge Main Event the ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude will take on one half of the "Double" Lightweight Champions in "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert! He has the entire Dark Circle with him as he leads Brimstone, Destruction Inc.; and the Circus of Doom down to the ring! Okerlund says this is one scary set of dudes and he fears for anyone who crosses their path. Poffo says they should count themselves lucky then that Shango only has a problem with that Savage jerk at the moment.And indeed it is "Macho Man" Randy Savage that Papa Shango begins ranting about! He is pissed about his interference in his match last week, saying that he was robbed of his Title! That the belt that belongs around "The Ravishing One" should be in the possession of The Dark Lord! And it will be! But first he intends to make Randy Savage pay the piper here tonight! He's going to tear Savage's very soul asunder and dance upon his grave! And when he's through Macho Madness won't just be dead, it'll be a vague whisper, an urban legend, a fairytale that mothers quietly tell their children for fear that "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango will come down their chimneys and feast upon their very hearts! And he's going to do it tonight! Shango lets out a war cry and even a few members of the Dark Circle seem a bit fearful of him. Just then however..."White Train" by Tito & Tarantula hits and ECW President Eric Bischoff comes out from the back. He doesn't get into the ring with the Dark Circle; wisely according to Gene; but stays on the ramp as he apologizes for interrupting Shango's little tirade. He says that as we all know by now, when Eric Bischoff is out here it can only mean one thing. And that's business is at hand! And he has some big business on the horizon, namely ECW's next PPV event Hardcore Heaven '96! Now he hears Shango about wanting revenge on Savage. He's seen the two of them consistently cost one another the Eastern Heavyweight Title. And he would love to see the two of them tear one another apart. But he isn't wasting that match for tonight on free tv. Oh no, instead he's scheduling it for Hardcore Heaven! And because it's gotta be Hardcore and he's sure it'll be one Hell of a match; he can think of nothing better than making "Macho Man" Randy Savage versus "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango in a Hell in the Cell Match! That's right! Shango will face Savage again in a Steel Cage!Joel Gertner makes the intros for the first match of the night.Match: Dean Malenko vs. B. Brian Blair "THE Killer Bee" B. Brian Blair does his best against "Mean" Dean Malenko in this match officiated by Danny Davis. Despite getting in some good offense, he's no match for Malenko who flattens Blair with a double underhook powerbomb which he transitions into the Texas Cloverleaf, forcing Blair to tap out.ECW President Eric Bischoff enters his office backstage only to find in his seat... "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair?! Wooo! Bischoff wants to know what Ric wants and Flair asks him if that's the way he should be speaking to such an honored guest boyo? And it doesn't matter what "'Naitch" wants. Cause whatever "Naitch" wants, "Naitch" gets. Now he heard about that little match between Shango and Savage at Hardcore Heaven '96. And that's just what Flair wants! But Ric wants something more! He wants a shot at the ECW Title baby! He wants the gold! And he don't care if he's gotta go through Savage or Shango to get it! So make it happen Bischoff! The Four Horsemen have already manhandled The Dark Circle! Styled and profiled on the lot of 'em! And now he wants to cut off their head! Ric Flair wants "The Soul Stealer!" Woooo!
Eric says he has no problem making that happen, in fact he likes the idea so much he's going to sign it for next week! At the Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Oregon "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair will face "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango! And if he wins; he'll get his shot at the gold! Wooo!
Ric Flair looks cross at Eric for "Wooing" and tells him to never do that again.We're then taken back to ringside where the former Eastern States Champion Rob Van Dam is posing for the crowd and he's not alone! The sharply dressed man at his side introduces himself as David Prazak. He tells us that he's here to represent his first client in ECW; "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam! Now why does someone as talented, as charismatic; the very first and longest reigning Eastern States Champion in this company's history even need a representative you ask? Good question! But over the last year Van Dam's talented have gone to waste, have not been appreciated; and Dave Prazak is here to ensure you that will end today! Match: Rob Van Dam w/ David Prazak vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri w/ Mr. Fuji S.D. Jones starts the match and can barely keep up as Rob Van Dam and Yoshihiro Tajiri tear one another apart. Neither man dominates as they battle back and forth with "The Japanese Buzzsaw" landing a handspring back elbow, a bridged dragon suplex and even a springboard hurrancanrana onto RVD on the outside! Rob of course is no slouch and hits the Rolling Thunder, a springboard DDT, a standing moonsault; and even wipes Tajiri and his manager Mr. Fuji out with a suicide dive! Tajiri and Van Dam are tearing it up on the outside when RVD connects with a step-up enziguiri on "The Buzzsaw" off the steel barricade. Mr. Fuji however strikes Rob with his cane before he can go any further!
Dave Prazak however backs Rob up, fending Fuji off with his clipboard! "Mr. Wednesday Night" meanwhile roles Yoshihiro back into the ring and scaling the ringpost from the outside goes for the 5-Star Frog Splash! But Tajiri rolls out of the way and as Van Dam bounces up off the mat, Yoshihiro flattens him with a Tornado DDT! He hooks the leg! 1!... 2!
Rob kicks out! Tajiri keeps on Rob with several kicks and even locks in the Octopus Stretch! But Van Dam still battles his way out! And they begin trading punches until Rob runs the ropes and clobbers "The Buzzsaw" with a dropkick! And he runs the ropes again! Rolling Thunder! And it connects! And this time he picks up the win!Match: Cousin Jamie w/ Doug Gilbert vs. Brian Lawler w/ Jacqueline Cousin Jamie and "Too Cool" Brian Christopher have a good back and forth match going with several pin attempts made when..."White Train" by Tito & Tarantula hits! And out come ECW President Eric Bischoff! Lanny quips that if this keeps up we'll have to start calling this "The Eric Bischoff Show." The fighting in the ring stops as all eyes turn to Eric who tells The Bayou Boys that he's glad they found ol' Eric Bitchoff's "punishment" amusing. He just hopes they find Title shots funny too, because he forsees alot of them in Cousin Jamie's future... starting with this one!
Jamie doesn't think this is fair and starts screaming at Eric while Brian Christopher rolls him up from behind! 1!... 2!...
Cousin Jamie kicks out in the nick of time! The thought of gaining the Title seems to have given Brian Christopher a second wind and he takes Cousin Jamie's head off with a diving guillotine legdrop he calls the Def Jam! But again Jamie kicks out! He looks to be in trouble as Brian has him running defense when Cousin Jamie hits the Paydirt single underhook DDT and just sqeaks out a victory here while Danny Davis makes the count. Neither of the Bayou Boys seem happy as they head out of the ring."Mean" Gene and Lanny welcome us back from the break before reminding us that next week's show will be coming to us live from the Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Oregon! They tell us that while a few tickets are still available for the show, those folks not in the area should tune in right here on ECW's home station of TNN The Nashville Network to catch all the ECW action live! They also encourage us to watch ECW Weekend Warriors this Saturday saying that after the break ECW President Eric Bischoff signed a Light Heavyweight Championship Match for this weekend; which will see the Champ Cousin Jamie defend his Title against "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri!Match: Chris Benoit vs. Dustin Rhodes Tommy Dreamer is still sporting a neckbrace as he comes down to the ring with his Tag-Team partner "The American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes. Lanny suggests "The Innovator" stay home and recover while he still has a neck to break. The Talking Heads then plays and out comes "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit! He wastes no time sliding into the ring and begins pounding on Dustin. It takes a while for Rhodes to recover and Benoit dominates the match early on, with Poffo suggesting maybe Ronnie Garvin should come save him again. Eventually however Chris Benoit whips Dustin Rhodes across the ring and Dustin drops to the floor and connects with an uppercut staggering Chris!
From there Dustin holds his own, making pins attempts following a Tornado DDT off the top, reversing Benoit's superplex and a bulldog off the second rope. He even traps "The Canadian Crippler" in a sleeper hold for a bit. No matter what he does though Chris Benoit keeps coming and punishes Rhodes throughout with various suplexes and submission holds! Tommy Dreamer does his best to interfere, but it doesn't help and Dustin Rhodes gets put down via a kneeling belly to belly piledriver off the second rope. Not satisfied however Benoit begins putting the boots to him! S.D. Jones does his best to break it up as does Tommy Dreamer who recieves a vicious jab to the throat dropping him, but "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin is forced to show up with his security team. With one last defiant kick to Rhodes' head, Benoit backs off. We're then brought in front of the ECW banner where ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels is soon joined by "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit. Chris jokes about the post-match "beating" he received at the Tag-Champs last week. He says that out there tonight he proved once again he's the only unstoppable force in this company. This business. And now he's done softening up Dreamer and Rhodes. Now... it's time to move in for the kill. He laughs disturbingly and Terri appears uncomfortable. Lord William Regal is in front of the ECW banner with Terri Runnels and over his shoulder he has the Eastern States Championship! Regal tells her that he knew it was only a matter of time before the belt would be back where it rightfully belongs. He says he's slew many monsters in this business including The Blitzkrieg and Pogo the Clown; but "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone has been his toughest challenge yet. But last week, he rose to the occasion and put him down for the count. And he knows that Brimstone will come back looking for the belt. But this time, Regal is ready for him.Match: William Regal vs. Steve Blackman Danny Davis starts the match. "The Silent Assassin" Steve Blackman holds his own against Regal, hitting his Fisherman's Suplex on him for a two and a thrust kick for barely a one. It isn't enough and neither is the interfering tricks of his manager Captain Lou Albano as Lord William Regal forces Steve Blackman to tap out using the Regal Stretch arm trap cross-legged STF.After the match we're brought to a promo from the Junk Yard Dog! Woof! Woof! Woof! Last week Junkyard Dog got himself a taste of Dick Murdoch. But he won't settkle for no win by Count Out. He...Into the promo walks "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch?! Murdoch tells JYD that that's his people's problem. They're never satisfied. Always looking for a handout. Well, that's okay with him. Because he's ready for another go and will be more than happy to tan his hide this Saturday on ECW Weekend Warriors!Tag-Team Match: Matt Borne & Pogo the Clown vs. The Hughes Brothers The Hughes Brothers get some good offense in on Matt Borne as they tag in and out in this match officiated by S.D. Jones. That is until "The Ring Master" tags in his partner Pogo the Clown whom he slaps across the face before unleashing him on poor little Spike Hughes. Both Spike and Devon Hughes get Buried in the Basement with Devon rolling out to the floor and Spike taking the pinfall. Matt and Pogo are about to celebrate their win with Luna Vachon when...The Four Horsemen attack! They dog pile Pogo the Clown with Arn and Tully taking him out with a double Spike Piledriver before Barry Windham cuts Matt Borne's head off with a clothesline and Flair lays in the figure four! After the beatdown Ric even goes to hold off on Luna! Arn Anderson stops this however and delivers a promo on The Dark Circle. "The Enforcer" tells Luna she'd best tell her boys when they wake up that they shoulda kept their damned mouths shut last week. That now The Four Horsemen have The Dark Circle locked in their crosshairs and that's one place you don't ever want to be. You can bet on that.Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's Main Event which will see ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude take on one half of the "Double" Lightweight Champs in "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert. Okerlund clarifies that Gilber really isn't the Champion of anything. Lanny goes to argue when The Bayou Boys' music hits!
Gertner: The following non-Title contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from the Mississippi Bayou weighing 240 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by Cousin Jamie; he is "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert!
Doug and Jamie have their little Hoe Down in the middle of the ring before showing off their respective half of the ECW Light Heavyweight Title they destroyed. Just then Rick Rude's strip theme hits!
Gertner: And introducing their opponent this evening from Robbinsdale, Minnesota weighing 251 lbs.; he is the Eastern Heavyweight Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude!Rude comes out from the back with a microphone in hand. Out on the ramp he orders for the Banjo music to be cut. He doesn't like feeling like he's in Deliverence. However he hopes that his opponent or the good people in Portland, Oregon don't mind if he has himself a little Hoe Down himself! Because he really don't care if they do anyway. He tells us that it feels good being in the Beaver State. Because if there's one thing Rude likes other than having this Title around his waste; it's a good beaver. He then asks which of the women in the audience out there is going to help the Champ with his robe? You? You? You! That one right there!Security then leads the woman he chose up the ramp where she removes his robes and he gives a little dance for the crowd before sweeping her into his arms and treating her to the Rude Awakening. Released from Rude's kiss, the woman looks like she's going to faint.Main Event: Rick Rude vs. Doug Gilbert w/ Cousin Jamie Rick Rude and Doug Gilbert are all business in the ring. "The Redneck Rebel" holds his own early on, hitting the Hot Shot dropped into a hangman and midway through the match applies the Claw Hold on the Champ. Rick Rude fights his way out however and drops Doug with a DDT. Before he can make his fourth pin attempt of the night however; Cousin Jamie jumps up on the apron and the two men begin arguing before Rude grabs the Lightweight Champ by the head and pulling him over the top rope throws him inside! And as Jamie bounces up to his feet his gets treated to a Rude Awakening delayed hangman's neckbreaker! Doug Gilbert then attacks Rude from behind! But Rude sees him coming and begins battering Gilbert about the ring! Rick Rude dominates the remainder of the match before hitting the Rude Awakening delayed hangman's neckbreaker on "The Redneck Rebel" as well and gets the win while Danny Davis makes the count and raises the ECW Champ's hand in victory.

4/13/96 - Brendan Byrne Arena East Rutherford, NJBuck Zumhoff and The Honky Tonk Man welcome us to another rocking and rolling edition of ECW Weekend Warriors! They have a huge show lined up for us here at the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey! Stemming from this past Wednesday's ECW broadcast, ECW President Eric Bischoff has arranged another Light Heavyweight Title defense for Cousin Jamie and tonight's he'll face "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri! And in tonight's Main Event the Junk Yard Dog will face off against his former Tag-Team partner Dick Murdoch!
Joel Gertner makes the intros and Danny Davis is referee in all matches.Match: Rhino w/ Mongo Vyle vs. Steve Blackman w/ Captain Lou Albano HTM says that these Dark Circle fellas give him the heebee jeebees if you know what he means. They are no picnic for "The Silent Assassin" Steve Blackman either. He and "The Man-Beast" are evenly matched and Blackman hits his signature Fisherman's suplex; failing to get the three when Mongo Vyle breaks the count! He gets a warning from the ref and a furious Albano berates Vyle; getting right in "The Machiavellan Mauler's" face! Annoyed Mongo grabs Albano's finger crushing it; but comes short of letting him have it. Inside the ring meanwhile Rhino hits The Gore striking spear on Steve Blackman and hooking his leg picks up the win! He and Vyle aren't done however and Rhino drags Blackman to the corner while Mongo Vyle sets up a table? Seating him up on the top rope Rhino then proceeds to superplex "The Silent Assassin" through the table! After the break we see a recap of Cousin Jamie's match with "Too Cool" Brian Christopher from this past Wednesday."White Train" by Tito & Tarantula hits! And out come ECW President Eric Bischoff! Eric tells The Bayou Boys that he's glad they found ol' Eric Bitchoff's "punishment" amusing. He just hopes they find Title shots funny too, because he forsees alot of them in Cousin Jamie's future... starting with this one! Jamie doesn't think this is fair and starts screaming at Eric while Brian Christopher rolls him up from behind! 1!... 2!...
Cousin Jamie kicks out in the knick of time! He looks to be in trouble as Brian has him running defense when Cousin Jamie hits the Paydirt single underhook DDT and just sqeaks out a victory here while Danny Davis makes the count.ECW Light Heavyweight Title Match: Cousin Jamie w/ Doug Gilbert vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri w/ Mr. Fuji There's no Dosey Doeing before this match. Cousin Jamie and his cousin Doug Gilbert look a bit worried as "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri heads to the ring with his manager Mr. Fuji. And they should be. Tajiri looks as impressive as ever as he nails Jamie with the handspring back elbow, a vicious Brain Buster, a springboard dropkick off the apron to the inside, several hurrancanranas; and a bridged Dragon Suplex. Halfway through the match Cousin Jamie slides out to catch his breath and Tajiri launches himself across the ring and takes out both of the Bayou Boys with a tope dive! Though Cousin Jamie has gotten in his share of offense, "The Japanese Buzzsaw" has clearly been dominating the match when he locks in the illegal Tarantula hold while Mr. Fuji distracts the ref! Doug Gilbert however takes advantage of this and cracks Tajiri across the back with a steel chair! Released from the hold, Cousin Jamie is up first and connects with a sitout double underhook powerbomb to pull of the win! The Bayou Boys have escaped with the Title again!Buck doesn't think Eric Bischoff is going to be too happy with the outcome of that last one. Honky says if the ECW President really wanted to get the Title off those boys, he should've contacted the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all-time.Match: Debbie Combs vs. Velvet McIntyre After a decent back and forth contest Debbie Combs puts Velvet McIntyre down with a swinging neckbreaker and Honky says that he thinks he may've just found himself a new Peggy Sue. Zumhoff says he'd better keep looking if he doesn't want to feel the wrath of Macho Madness. HTM says he's not afraid of Randy Savage. And that Randy will never appear on this show, cause he knows he'll end up getting "Shake, Rattled; & Rolled."Buck and HTM talk welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before playing a video package of Dick Murdoch and Junkyard Dog's time together as a Tag-Team. The tone of the video then turns when "Captain Redneck" eliminates JYD from the King of the Mountain match! We see Junkyard's look of surprise and later anger as ol' tricky Dick unveils his "Great Moments in Black History" segments. We then see JYD cost Murdoch a match against O'Grady and Dick delivering a promo about no longer wanting to carry around The Dog as "excess baggage." We then see Murdoch's phony apology to JYD where he clubbed him with the microphone and finally Junkyard Dog beating Dick Murdoch by Count Out last week. "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen then plays.
Gertner: The following contest is scheduled for one fall introducing first from Charlotte, North Carolina weighing 280 lbs. he is JYD The Junk Yard Dog! JYD comes out rattling his chains and barks for the crowd as he heads down to the ring while the fans cheer.
Gertner: And now introducing his opponent this evening from Waxahachie, Texas weighing in at 288 lbs.; "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch!Main Event: Dick Murdoch vs. Junkyard Dog Dick Murdoch is wearing his "Junkyard Dog History Month" t-shirt to the ring. But not for long as the Junkyard Dog immediately attacks and tears it off him! JYD begins choking him out with it! But Danny Davis grabs the shirt off him and warns Junkyard. The early match belongs to The Dog as he hammers "Captain Redneck" about the ring. Eventually Dick gets an opening however and begins fighting back. The two men trade punches about the ring in little more than a brawl until Murdoch begins slamming JYD's head into the turnbuckle! The Dog however breaks free and gives "Redneck" some of his own medicine before dropping him with a DDT! He makes the cover but only gets a two.
He keeps on top of Murdoch for a bit, trapping him on the ground with stomps, knee drops; and even bites him a bit before Davis puts a stop to it. He then pulls Dick up looking for the Thump! powerslam; but Murdoch lets JYD have it with a headbutt! He gains control of the match as he begins hammering Junkyard about the ring! Dick is pissed and uses the top rope to choke Junkyard out against it! Davis tries to stop him, but Murdoch pushes the ref away and traps Junkyard's head in the top to ropes! Davis calls for the bell DQing "Captain Redneck" when Dick Murdoch hoists JYD up over the top rope and out of the ring; hanging him with the top ropes! The Junkyard Dog screams in terror and in desperation grabs the ropes as he goes over! Luckily he manages to land on the apron! But Dick isn't done and tries to kick the Dog off! Murdoch is going too far! He's going to kill the Junkyard Dog! But before he gets the chance "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin charges down from the back and tackles Dick Murdoch while his security team help Junkyard Dog untangle himself from the ropes! Garvin then orders his team to take Murdoch to the back, which they do as he kicks and screams the whole way. Garvin and Davis check on JYD as the...

4/17/96 - Gill Coliseum Corvallis, OR"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to the Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Oregon for another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling! They the briefly talk about last week's show including Eric Bischoff making Cousin Jamie's match with Brian Lawler for the Lightweight Title, "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit's brutal encounter with Dustin Rhodes, The Four Horseman's attack on the Circus of Doom; and ECW Champ Rick Rude's defeat of "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert in the Main Event.
They then hype tonight's huge card which will see Lightweight Champ Cousin Jamie defend his Title against "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff! Also Chris Benoit will meet the other half of the Tag-Team Champs as he goes one on one with Tommy Dreamer, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard of The Four Horsemen will battle The Circus of Doom; and in a match set-up last week "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair will face "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango! And is Flair wins he will go on to face Rude for the ECW Title at Hardcore Heaven '96!Just then "Ravishing" Rick Rude's strip theme hits! And out from the back swaggers the ECW Champion! He has the Title on his waist and a mic in his hand as he orders for them to cut the music. He then says that he's proven he's no paper Champion. It's taken down "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango. Now "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair wants a shot at his belt? Well if Ric Flair wants to be the next man to experience the Rude Awakening, so be it.After Rude heads to the back Dave Prazak leads "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam to the ring and says that it's typical an old washed-up, backstage bureaucrat like "The Nature Boy" gets a shot at the ECW Championship instead of a young, virile up and comer like his associate Rob Van Dam. A man who held and defended the Eastern States Championship for an entire year! But he guesses that getting tv time two weeks in a row is an improvement. Rome wasn't built in a day after all.
Joel Gertner then makes with the intros for the first match of the night.Match: Rob Van Dam w/ Dave Prazak vs. Jeff Hardy w/ Matt HardyReferee: S.D. Jones Jeff Hardy who has his brother Matt Hardy at ringside gives "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam all he can handle in this fast paced, high flying bout which sees Jeff hit the Whisper in the Wind with an interfering Matt Hardy midway through the match. This sets Rob up for a bulldog before Jeff Hardy goes up top and hits the high angle Senton Bomb! Right onto "Mr. Wednesday Night's" knees! From there it is all Rob Van Dam as he uses a monkey flip, a spinning heel kick; and a standing moonsault amongst others before nailing Jeff Hardy with the 5-Star Frog Splash! Matt attempts to enter and make the save, but gets hit upside the head by David Prazak's clipboard! This only angers Matt who chases the manager around the ring as RVD picks up the win.
Rob poses for the crowd until he sees Matt chasing Prazak and running across the ring launches himself onto Matt with a somesault plancha! He then pounds Matt a bit on the floor before pointing to his shoulders while the fans shout "Rob!... Van... Dam!" as he and his manager exit.Match: Yoshihiro Tajiri w/ Mr. Fuji vs. Michele StarrReferee: Danny Davis "Gorgeous" Michele Starr does his best to out wrestle and trip Yoshihiro Tajiri up with sex sexual antics. He simply outclassed however and "The Japanese Buzzsaw" tears him apart before ending the match with a Buzzsaw Kick to the head of the kneeling Michele Starr.After the match we're brought to a promo by "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch who's wearing his Junkyard Dog History t-shirt. He's unrepentent about what he did to his old friend JYD last week and in fact says that The Dog got what was coming to him. The only thing Murdoch regrets is that he didn't walk out of New Jersey the winner of that match! And that Junkyard didn't go to that big scrap heap in the sky!Junkyard Dog comes in and decks Dick Murdoch with a hard right! He beats "Captain Redneck" down to the floor where he tears his shirt off again asking where the hell he keeps getting them from in frustration before storming off.Back from the break Lanny Poffo says he'd like to know where Dick Murdoch keeps getting those Junkyard Dog shirts from too. He called 1-800-BUYECW, but they weren't any help.The Bayou Boys are in the ring and are on the mic. Doug Gilbert says that ol' Easy E has tried to steal their Lightweight Title two times now! And both times he failed! And now he sends in "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff?! Who's next, Lanny Poffo?! Okerlund laughs but says these two never learn. "The Genius" however says he could win the Title off them... if he wanted to that is.ECW Light Heavyweight Title Match: Cousin Jamie w/ Doug Gilbert vs. Buck ZumhoffReferee: S.D. Jones "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff would've had this match won after hitting the Rocking and Rolling springboard DDT after an intense back and forth contest. Doug Gilbert however deemed it fit to reach in and grabbing Zumhoff by the leg, pulled him off to break up the count. This bought Cousin Jamie a second chance and when Zumhoff charged the recovering Light Heavyweight Champ as he used the ropes to lean on; Jamie back dropped "The Original Rock 'N Roller" out of the ring! "The Redneck Rebel" was quick to pounce and beat Zumhoff up a bit before rolling him back into the ring where Cousin Jamie hit him with a bridged Northern Lights Suplex for them win."Mean" Gene and Lanny welcome us back from the break before reminding us that next week's show will be coming to us live from the Lawlor Events Center in Reno, Nevada; ECW's first show ever in the Silver State. They say that while tickets for that show are sold out, those folks at home should be sure and tune in right here on Eastern Championship's home station TNN The Nashville Network to catch all the ECW action live! But before that they should tune in here this Saturday for ECW Weekend Warriors! During the break ECW President Eric Bischoff signed off on a match pitting Cousin Jamie against Sexton Hardcastle for the ECW Light Heavyweight Championship!Match: Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard vs. Matt Borne & Pogo the ClownReferee: Danny Davis Matt Borne seems to have taken offense to the manhandling he received at the hands of The Four Horsemen last week and comes at Arn Anderson strong. He gets a two count offa Whoopie Cushion seated senton and even locks "The Enforcer" in the Stump Puller single leg inverted Boston Crab. Arn has given as good as he got with a spinebuster and DDT on Borne along with several poundings; but his legs are a bit wobbly after the Stump Puller and he tags out to Tully Blanchard!
Blanchard fairs well early on, getting a two count after hitting "The Ring Master" with a slingshot suplex and getting another with a sunset flip to counter a whip from Borne. It's Matt Borne's night however as he counters a swinging neckbreaker and hits a running powerslam on Tully. He continues beating on the Horseman whom he hits with a bridged Northern lights suplex for another two. Borne attempts to keep on Tully; but he fights his way out and making it to his corner tags Arn Anderson back in.
Tully remains in the ring and the duo pound Matt Borne into the corner for a bit before laying him out with the double Spike Piledriver! But Borne kicks out just before the three! Matt may've saved himself from the pin, but he's in a daze the remainder of the match as he attempts to tag out only to continually get pulled back to the Horsemen's corner by Arn and Tully who tag in and out repeatedly to keep themselves fresh. Eventually however Borne manages to make the hot tag to Pogo the Clown!
"The Monster of Merriment" as Lanny calls him comes in clobbering both Tully and Arn. As soon as each man gets up they're sent back down to the canvas with a clothesline! This happens several times before Pogo lays Tully flat with a front powerslam and goes for a standing splash! Arn however pulls Blanchard out of the way and Tully rallies back; taking the fight to Pogo before tagging in Arn again. Anderson targets the Clown's legs with shoulder blocks and dropkicks before getting him down on the ground and locking in the figure four! The Clown is now laughing maniacally and Matt Borne stomps Arn out to make the save! Tully however isn't having it and running in clotheslines Borne; taking both himself and "The Ringmaster" over the top rope!
Arn Anderson is back up and begins clobbering Pogo the Clown who is down on one knee. The monsterous Clown however keeps coming and back on it's feet claps "The Enforcer" hard over both ears before hoisting him up and Burying Him in the Basement! And "The Ring Master" Matt Borne wants the tag! He gets it and climbs up top where he hits the Whoopie Cushion seated senton and makes the cover! And he gets it! The Circus of Doom have defeated The Four Horsemen! Borne jovially holds up three fingers as Luna Vachon enters the ring to celebrate! The Dark Circle has beaten the Horsemen three times! And Okerlund is sure that they'll never hear the end of it either. ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels is in front of the ECW banner with "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham; and Ric Flair. Arn says that every dog has his day. And tonight that day obvious belonged to the Circus of Doom. But that streak is gonna be broken; because he just got out of ECW President Eric Bischoff's office and he's scheduled a match for this Saturday Night. This Saturday on Weekend Warriors The Four Horsemen will be facing The Dark Circle in an 8-man tag-team match! Ric Flair then steps forward and says that's right baby! Tonight Flair is gonna send Papa Shango back to his tiki hut in the deepest darkest jungle he can find! And then on Saturday him and the Horsemen are gonna style and profile all over the shattered remnants of the Dark Circle! Wooo!Match: Chris Benoit vs. Tommy DreamerReferee: S.D. Jones Chris Benoit is stalking about the ring waiting for his vic-, opponent and after a short pause Tag-Team Champion Tommy Dreamer emerges from the back with his Titlte over his shoulder. He's still wearing the neckbrace and Lanny says that he's in no condition to compete. Gene agrees and says that there's a thin line between bravery and stupidity. Poffo says that Dreamer lives on the stupid side. Unlike "The Genius." They're right too. Every time "The Innovator of Violence" gets some offense going, Chris Benoit goes right back to targeting his neck. He smiles sadistically as he forces Dreamer to submit with a rear chinlock and refuses to break the hold until Ronnie Garvin shows up on the ramp with his security team. Benoit gives Dreamer who's down on his knees gasping for air one last kick, knocking him over before storming off. Okerlund says he doesn't like "The Canadian Crippler." For him it's not about winning. It's about hurting people.Match: Brimstone w/ Papa Shango vs. Brian Lawler w/ JacquelineReferee: Danny Davis "Too Cool" Brian Christopher puts up an impressive front and holds his own using his speed to his advantage early on against the much larger man. When Papa Shango confronts Jacqueline Moore on the outside however, Brian loses focus and Brimstone completely wipes the ring with him with several biel throws before flattening him with a Chokeslam from Hell and making the cover.
After the match Brimstone gets on the mic and Gene says that Lanny should like this part; to which Poffo says he's already called his lawyer for copyright infringement.I was angry with my friend: I told my wrath, my wrath did end. Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that The Four Horsemen and Shango's cabal The Dark Circle have been tearing it up here in ECW for some time. Recently Ric Flair has made it known that he wants a shot at the ECW Title. And not only that, he wants the Dark Circle's leader Papa Shango one on one in the ring. To this end ECW President Eric Bischoff gave him this match here tonight. He gets his first wish to face off against Papa Shango tonight! And if he wins he'll be granted his second request and challenge ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude for the Eastern Heavyweight Championship at ECW's next Pay Per View Event; Hardcore Heaven '96! Lanny cautions that we all know what's said about wishes. And facing Shango, Flair might regret his here tonight. Just then the lights go out, voodoo drums begin to pound; and mist fills the arena while on the ramp appears...
Gertner: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from the Bowels of Hell weighing 270 lbs. he is "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango! Shango rolls into the ring and lets out a war cry as he gives the fans another crazy show of voodoo theatrics. Also sprach Zarathustra then sounds.
Gertner: And introducing his opponent this evening from Charlotte, North Carolina weighing 243 lbs.; "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair!Main Event: Ric Flair vs. Papa ShangoReferee: S.D. Jones The match starts and the two men circle the ring, feeling one another out before locking it up in the middle of the ring! Papa Shango however proves himself too poweful for "The Nature Boy" who takes a tumble as "The Soul Stealer" throws him across the ring. And charging in he keeps up the attack! He pounds Flair back into the ropes and hurls him into the corner where he keeps it up. But Ric soon reverses their roles and begins chopping away! Shango escapes the corner, but Flair keeps on chopping and driving Shango into the ropes he whips him across the ring! But on the rebound "The Soul Stealer" responds with a big boot! But Flair ducks it! And Papa hits the ropes hard, bouncing off and Flair sends him flying with a beautiful back body drop! Wooo! "The Nature Boy" is strutting about the ring. Returning to Shango he hits several knee drops before grabbing Shango's legs and locks in the...
Shango kicks him away! Flair stumbles into the ropes and "The Soul Stealer" grabs him from behind and hits a backbreaker over his knee! He proceeds to stomp Flair out a bit before hoisting him up, clobbering him the whole time before laying him back out with a suplex! And he makes the cover! But barely gets a one! Papa Shango keeps on "Naitch" and locks in the Anaconda Vise! Ric grits his teeth and will not quit however! But he can't make it to the ropes! He fights his way out however and makes it up to one knee before Shango begins pounding on him again! But Flair is rallying back and fights his way to his feet! Soon the two men are trading punches and chops about the ring and Ric Flair rakes Shango's eyes! Okerlund isn't sure if "The Soul Stealer" has ever been in the ring with someone willing to play as dirty as him before. Flair is now in control and works Shango over a bit. He encounters some trouble in the corner with Shango reversing and Irish whip and the witch doctor runs in clobbering Flair with a huge body avalanche! He then hoists "Naitch" up onto the corner; but Flair fights back and knocks Shango back into the ring! And standing on the second rope Ric nails his opponent with a diving knee drop! He makes the cover!
But only gets a two! Ric keeps on top of Shango stomping and punching him down into the mat; but "The Soul Stealer" turns the tables with a shoulder thrust! He hits another to Flair's stomach and taking him off his feet nails him with a Spinebuster! He hooks the leg! 1! 2!
Flair kicks out! Flair is in a bit of trouble and Shango uses several moves including the Voodoo Driver slingshot suplex and sidewalke slam to put Flair away. "The Nature Boy" keeps on keeping on however and after getting hit with a dropkick from "The Soul Stealer," Ric plays a bit of opossum and when Papa makes the cover; he rolls him up! 1! With a handful of tights! 2!
Shango kicks free! Both men shoot back up to their feet and Flair takes his opponent down to the ring with a lariat! Back up Flair hoists Shango up to a seated position and begins pounding away while holding him in a headlock! The fans count along as he delivers eight punches before slamming Papa down into the mat where he stomps him. Flair then grabs Shango by the legs and hits a knee drop to the groin before locking in the figure four! And Papa Shango is screaming in pain! Jones is asking if he wants to submit; but "The Soul Stealer" refuses! He attempts to escape several times! But he can't get out as Flair puts on the pressure!
And Shango in desperation throws Ric over, reversing the figure four! Now it's Flair's turn to suffer! But Ric is much closer to the ropes and breaks the hold. He's a bit shaky however and uses the ropes to get up while Papa Shango does the same on the opposing side of the ring with not as much success. "The Soul Stealer" is looking in a bad way as Ric Flair charges him! But Shango dodges and throws Flair over the top rope to the floor below! Ric hits the ground hard and looks to be in trouble as S.D. Jones begins the count. Papa Shango meanwhile limps about the ring and taunts the crowd. But while the ref is dealing with Flair on the outside, into the ring storms the "Macho Man" Randy Savage!And he clobbers Papa Shango knocking him to the floor! He then hoists Papa Shango up to his feet and lays him out with a DDT before rolling out! Flair is back up and a bit wobbly just makes it back into the ring at 9. He sees Shango sprawled out and crawling over to him makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Shango kicks out! Ric Flair looks exhausted as he gets up to his feet, but Papa Shango is up almost as fast and lands the first blow! He hammers on Flair for a bit and drives him into the ropes before whipping him across the ring! He goes for a back body drop; but too early; and Flair kicks him in the chops! He then fires away with a gutwrench suplex! Both men are down as the move has seemingly taken away the last of "The Nature Boy's" energy. But he manages to get up and stumble over to Papa Shango where he grabs his feet and locks in the figure four leglock! Shango screams in pain and attempts to grab the ropes! But he comes up short and taps out! Ric Flair has won it!
"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair will face "Ravishing" Rick Rude for the ECW Championship at Hardcore Heaven '96!

4/20/96 - Hartford Civic Center Hartford, CTBuck Zumhoff and The Honky Tonk Man welcome us to another rocking and rolling edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling! Tonight live from the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut! They then talk about tonight's big show where they have an enormous Main Event for us lined up as the greatest stable in wrestling history; The Four Horsemen are in the house! They're set to do battle with the villainous cabal known as The Dark Circle in a big 8-Man Tag Match! Also lined up the ECW Light Heavyweight Title will be on the line as The Bayou Boy's Cousin Jamie defends the bettler against Sexton Hardcastle! But first:
Joel Gertner makes the intros and Danny Davis is referee in all matches.Match: Steve Blackman w/ Lou Albano vs. Jeff Hardy w/ Matt Hardy The young former ECW Lightweight Champ Jeff Hardy gives "The Silent Assassin" Steve Blackman all he can handle with his high-flying, fast-paced offense while Captain Lou and Matt Hardy makes nuisances of themselves at ringside. Then end comes when Jeff Hardy staggers Steve Blackman and running the ropes, charges back right into a roundhouse kick to the head! HTM says that Hardy just learned that only "Fools Rush In" while Blackman picks up the win.After the break The Bayou Boys finish up their little Hoedown in the middle of the ring before bragging about how many times they've defended the ECW Light Heavyweight Title! They never seem to learn as they mock Mr. Bitchoff who just can't kept the job done, because night after night The Bayou Boys have walked away victorious!ECW Light Heavyweight Title Match: Cousin Jamie w/ Doug Gilbert vs. Sexton Hardcastle w/ Joe E. Legend Sexton Hardcastle freaks the ECW Light Heavyweight Champ Cousin Jamie out a bit when he attempts to sex him up early in the match before attempting to make the pin with a schoolboy! He fails to get anything more than a handful of Jamie's ass and the two men have a good back and forth contest with Joe E. Legend attempting to interfere at one point only to be stopped by "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert! Cousin Jamie wins the match after nailing Sexton Hardcastle with a sitout double underhook powerbomb."The original Rock 'N Roller" Buck Zumhoff and The Honky Tonk Man have a couple of the ECW action figures on their table and are playing with them. HTM says it's a crime that they haven't released the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time yet! Zumhoff says he's sure they're hard at work on it already. Right after they release Bobby Starr he's sure.
Honky Tonk doesn't know who this Starr fella is, but isn't amused and questions why Zumhoff's promoting the toys here and not on Slammin' Saturdays! with that fool Albano. Buck says that there isn't a return date for ECW Slammin' Saturday! which is in re-runs every Saturday morning; but there is a new set of ECW figures on the horizon! He then shows off the first three series that have been released including "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff himself!Match: Tiffany vs. La Diabolica The masked luchadoress La Diabolica seems to have Tiffany defeated on several occassions, hitting her with a powerbomb for a near three and attempting to get her to submit using the Gory Special. Tiffany however pulls off the win using the Iconoclasm!Zumhoff and HTM welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's main event! They talk about how the Dark Circle are on a seeming path of destruction of late; having defeated the Four Horsemen not once but three times in as many weeks! They then replay the clip of this past Wednesday's show where "The Ring Master" Matt Borne pinned former ECW Champion "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson!Main Event: The Four Horsemen vs. The Dark Circle Matt Borne starts things off and taunts the Horsemen, leading to "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson entering the ring. He hammers Borne around the ring and attempts to end things early with a spinebuster! Borne however kicks out and tags in "The Man-Beast" Rhino! Arn and Rhino go at it for a bit, trading punches before he tags in Tully Blanchard. The duo double-team Rhino for a bit before Davis orders Arn out! Blanchard gets a nearfall on Rhino using the slingshot suplex and tags in Barry Windham!
The Horsemen tag in and out, keeping Rhino away from his own corner until Ric whips "The Man-Beast" hard into the corner and begins strutting about the ring! He shouldn't have been so cocky however as Rhino charges him and connects with The Gore striking spear! Rolling to his feet Rhino tags out to "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle! Mongo makes the cover, but Flair kicks out before two. Mongo proceeds to dominate Flair for a bit and makes another pin attempt after hitting the Mongo Masher sit-out full nelson atomic drop! "The Nature Boy" however rallies back and takes Vyle to chop school! He batters Mongo into his corner where he tags in Barry Windham who hits the big man with a backbreaker over his knee and while he holds him over it; Flair goes up top and hits a diving knee drop on "The Mauler!" Windham makes the cover! 1!... 2!
Matt Borne breaks up the count! Tully Blanchard however comes to the rescue and battles it out with "The Ring Master!" Windham keeps on top of Mongo while Davis restores some order to the ring, tossing the big man around like he's a rag doll until Mongo Vyle connects with a surprise cutter! He then makes the hot tag to Pogo the Clown! Pogo enters the ring and attacks Barry! Windham however isn't having it and the two men brawl about the ring with Barry ramming the Clown's head repeatedly into the top turnbuckle! Windham then allows Pogo to head back to his corner befor cutting him off and taunting the furious Dark Circle! Matt Borne seemingly has had enough of this however and enters the ring attacks...
Pogo the Clown?! He lets his own teammate have it with a slap across the face! The Clown begins laughing maniacally whil Barry Windham clotheslines Borne out of the ring! Pogo however turns the tables on Windham and ends up Burying Him in the Basement! And Matt Borne wants the tag in! He's already pinned Anderson and Flair! He's now wants to add Windham to that list as he climbs the turnbuckle and goes airborne!
And lands the Whoopie Cushion seated senton with an ass full of canvas! Barry Windham has rolled out of the way and he makes the tag to Arn Anderson! Together the duo work Borne over a bit before hitting "The Ring Master" with a double spike piledriver! Arn makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
3! Arn Anderson has picked up the win and broken The Dark Circle's momentum! The Four Horsemen stand victorious on ECW Weekend Warriors!

4/24/96 - Lawlor Events Center Reno, NV"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to the Lawlor Events Center in Reno, Nevada for another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling! They have a huge show lined up for us here tonight just two weeks before ECW's PPV event Hardcore Heaven '96; but first run down last week's show including the Circus of Doom's defeat of the Four Horsemen when "The Ring Master" Matt Borne defeated "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, Chris Benoit's continuing war with the Tag-Team Champs Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer; and five-star Main Event in which "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair defeated "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango to earn a shot at the ECW Title at Hardcore Heaven '96!
They then begin to hype tonight's show when..."White Train" by Tito & Tarantula hits and out from the back swaggers ECW President Eric Bischoff! Eric thanks us all for joining them here tonight for Eastern Championship's first show ever from the Battle Born state. And speaking of battling Bornes he has one hell of a Main Event lined up for us tonight because the #1 contender "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair requested a match here tonight against the man who pinned him several weeks ago; "The Ring Master" Matt Borne! But as we all know when "Easy E" is out in the ring it can only mean one thing; business is at hand! And today's business of course is a special edition of the ECW Hardcore Heaven '96 control center! Because he has some exciting announcements regarding the Pay Per View which costs only a measly $14.95! So be sure to call your local cable provider to order the PPV on May 2nd!
He then informs us of a match just signed for the PPV which will see three members of the Four Horsemen: Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard; & Barry Windham do battle with the team of Destruction Inc. and "The Ring Master" Matt Borne in a Tornado Tag Tables Match! The winner being the first team to put a member of the other team through a table! Also already on the card the Eastern States Championship will be on the line as William Regal defends his Title against "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone in an Iron Man Match! And of course that brings him to two of the biggest matches on the card so far! First up will be where "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "The Soul Stealer" will face off in a Hell in the Cell Match! Bischoff then calls the two men out to the ring!"Pomp and Cicumstance" hits and out comes "Macho Man" Randy Savage! He hits the ring with "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs and poses for the crowd before the voodoo drums begin to beat, mist fills the arena; and the lights go out. When they return on the ramp "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango has appeared! Eric Bischoff is glad both men could join us and then tells them as they're already aware they'll be facing one another in the first ever of it's kind, Hell in a Cell match at Hardcore Heaven '96! But Eric is thinking that there needs to be a little extra spice added to the match, a special little...
"Macho Man" Randy Savage snatches the microphone from Bischoff! He says to spit it out little man. That Randy Savage doesn't care if he's got to do it in a wrestling ring or a steel cage. Hell, he'll mow down the very gates of Hell brother! Just too get his hands, wrap them around the throat of "The Soul Stealer." Dig it! He then slams the mic back into the shaken up hands of Bischoff who informs us he's added a special stipulation to their match because he's noticed the duo seem to like interfering in one another's matches and costing each other their chance at the ECW Title! So he's sure they'll like a chance to screw one another over big time, because the loser of the Hell in a Cell match will face a severe penalty here at ECW! Because the loser of the match will be banned from challenging for the Eastern Heavyweight Title for an entire year! Neither man seems to like this turn of events as ECW goes to... After the break we're brought backstage where ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels is having a word with "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen! Flair tells us we might've noticed that "Easy E" had nothing to say about his match at ECW Hardcore Heaven '96! Well that's because it's too big for him! No, a match of this caliber, of this grandeur can only be discussed, only come from the lips of the most high flying, jet ridingest; and profilingest man in all this sport! And that's "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Now "Ravishing" Rick Rude may fancy himself a ladies man, he may fancy himself a wresting great brother. And Ric has seen him out there, thinking he has some of Flair's swagger. Seen him out there thinking he's the cock of the walk struttin' about like he's "The Nature Boy." Well he's got news for "The Ravishing One" brother! He ain't no "Nature Boy!" He ain't in the same league of the "Nature Boy!" And he never will be! He's just a cheap imitation, just as cheap as his women. And on May 2nd at ECW Hardcore Heaven "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair is gonna walk out of the San Diego Sports Arena the ECW Champ-eee-onn! Wooo!
Joel Gertner makes the intros for the first match of the night.Match: Tully Blanchard vs. Buck ZumhoffReferee: Danny Davis Tully Blanchard is joined at ringside by "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. Once the match is underway "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff gives Blanchard a good fight, getting a two count off a sunset flip and another with the Rocking and Rolling springboard DDT! Tully Blanchard hands Buck a beating at several points however and though Zumhoff gets his leg up on the ropes after being hit with a slingshot suplex; Tully Blanchard knocks his opponent's lights out for good with a piledriver to pick up the win.Match: Dean Malenko vs. Douglas WilliamsReferee: S.D. Jones The young "U.K. Kidd" Douglas Williams seems to catch the veteran "Mean" Dean Malenko offguard at first with his impressive offense including a dropkick, the Bombs Away diving knee drop; and ends up locking Malenko in a Cravate, striking him in the face several times with his knees. Despite this Dean seems in no danger of losing and punishes his opponent every chance he gets with a snap suplex, a leg lariat; and a powerbomb. Williams surprises one more time with Malenko locks in the Boston Crab and "The U.K. Kidd" makes it to the ropes! Dean Malenko seems to have had enough however and after softening him up a bit, hits Douglas Williams with a sitout double underhook powerbomb off the second rope for the win. After the match we're brought before the ECW banner where ECW Corrsepondent has a few words with "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit whom she is clearly repulsed by. Chris removes his sunglasses and Runnels jumps a little when he casually calls her "Terri." He tells her that he's already proven himself the better man against the Tag-Team Champions Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes. Over and over again. And to be honest he's running out of ideas how to hurt them. So he's decided that next week at ECW Hardcore Heaven '96 he will challenge them for the ECW Tag-Team Titles! Terri is about to say something when...The Tag-Team Champs show up! Tommy Dreamer has his neck braced up still and Dustin Rhodes has him arm wrapped up. They tell Chris Benoit that they've proven they're not afraid of him and want to end this once and for all. So if Chris wants their Tag-Team Titles? He just needs to find himself a partner and meet them in the ring at Hardcore Heaven! Cause he's on! Benoit laughs disturbingly and says that won't be a problem. Finding a partner as skilled as Tommy Dreamer won't be a problem.Match: William Regal vs. Jason Venom w/ Steve CorinoReferee: Danny Davis Jason Venom is a big man and gives William Regal some trouble early on, pounding the Eastern States Champion about the ring and even hits him with a powerbomb! This mostly due to the interference by the former ECW Champion Steve Corino whom Regal had to knock off the apron with a hard left hook! Regal kicks out at two and fights his way back, dismantling the larger man whom he pins with the Regal-Plex bridging leg hook belly to back suplex.
After the match William Regal gets on the microphone and says that Brimstone can recite all the poofy poetry he wants while brooding in a coffee shop; but that's not going to help him come next Thursday when he punches his death down his throat and walks out of the San Diego Sports Arena still the Eastern States Champion!"The Dark Prophet" Brimstone then appears on the ramp and he has Destruction Inc. and the Circus of Doom with him! Regal isn't deterred and tells him that he doesn't care if they wait until Hardcore Heaven or not. He'll fight him and his tosser buddies right here! Right now!
Not one to back down from a challenge Brimstone charges down to the ring and begins slugging it out with Regal! Soon the rest of the Dark Circle has joined him however and they begin pounding Regal about the ring a bit before...The Four Horsemen show up and entering the ring! Regal and the Horsemen brawl with the Dark Circle until..."Rugged" Ronnie Garvin appears with his security team! It takes them a while, but they appear to be breaking the two groups up as ECW goes to..."Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us back from the break before reminding us that next week's show will be coming to us live from the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California just one day before ECW's big PPV Hardcore Heaven '96! They then tell us while ECW's first show in the Golden State are sold out, those folks at home should tune in right here on Eastern Championship's home station TNN The Nashville Network to catch all the action live! They then remind us also to be sure and tune in for ECW Weekend Warriors this Saturday on TNN where they've been told the Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer will be in non-Title action against The Hughes Brothers!Match: Papa Shango vs. Erin O'GradyReferee: S.D. Jones Papa Shango comes out with "Mad Dog" Luna Vachon and we learn the rest of the Dark Circle as well as The Four Horsemen themselves; except for Flair and Borne who have a match later tonight; were kicked out of the building following the brawl between the two groups. They play a clip of Garvin's men subduing them after the commercial break while "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady heads out to the ring tossing gold coins from his cauldron to the fans. O'Grady fairs well early on in the match while he and Papa Shango have a nice fast-paced back and forth battle which seeing Erin get a two count following a running stunner. He's no match however for the former ECW Champion and "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango takes him out with the Voodoo inverted shoulderbreaker.
Papa Shango gives a little voodoo victory mumbo jumbo for the fans when "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Debbie Combs head down to the ring attacking Shango and Luna Vachon! Catching the duo by surprise Savage and Combs beat them down. Afterward Savage gets on the microphone and says that he doesn't care about Bischoff's stipulation because at Hardcore Heaven '96 there can only be one winner. And that winner will be the "Macho Man" Randy Savage! Oooooh Yeah!Match: Junkyard Dog vs. Dick MurdochReferee: Danny Davis While this match gets underway "Mean" Gene and Lanny discuss how Junkyard Dog and Dick Murdoch's rivalry is one of the most heated in wrestling in recent memory. Poffo says there's no denying that, "Captain Redneck" nearly killed JYD two weeks ago on Weekend Warriors! Inside the ring the two men are evenly matched as they brawl about the ring. JYD staggers Dick toward the end of the match with a massive headbutt and hits him with the Thump! front powerslam! 1!... 2!...
Dick kicks out! Just barely and fighting the advancing JYD off tries to collect himself in the corner where he reaches into his boot taking something out. Davis doesn't see it and neither does Junkyard Dog whom Dick Murdoch hammers with it! JYD hits the mat flat and Dick Murdoch makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Davis has stopped the count?! He's yelling at Dick Murdoch! He's seen the foreign object! Murdoch however is claiming he doesn't have it and obviously tosses it out of the ring! Davis disqualifies him awarding another match to Junkyard Dog; but Murdoch doesn't even seem mad as he rolls out of the ring.
Murdoch is smiling?! He heads over to the announcers desk and says that he don't give a shit about winning or losing. It was worth it to knock that fat shit Dog on his ass. He then tells Lanny he has something for him and gives him the Junkyard Dog History Month shirt he wore to the ring! Okerlund thinks the two of them are disgusting for laughing about such vile actions. Poffo tells him he's just jealous he didn't get a shirt.
Inside the ring however Junkyard Dog has gotten back to his feet and while Dick Murdoch is yucking it up at ringside, JYD grabs a steel chair and lets Murdoch have it with it! Dick goes down hard, but stumbles up to his feet only to get hit with the chair again! No longer laughing Dick Murdoch runs to the back while Junkyard Dog chases him down, swinging the chair at him!ECW Light Heavyweight Title Match: Cousin Jamie vs. Spike HughesReferee: S.D. Jones The announcers talk a bit about Eric Bischoff's giving Lightweight Champ Cousin Jamie Title shots every chance he gets and how the Bayou Boys' luck has to run out sometime. Maybe tonight's the night as Devon Hughes joins the challengers Spike Hughes at ringside, evening the odds of Cousin Jamie's own tag-team partner and "Double" champion Doug Gilbert who's also at ringside. Little Spike does well against Cousin Jamie in this back and forth contest which sees Hughes hit a double foot stomp off the top, a Frankenstiener and the often fatal corner springboard cutter! And Spike would've had the match won too if not for that infernal Doug Gilbert who pulled Jamie out of the ring following the cutter! This off course pisses off big Devon Hughes who begins brawling with Doug about the ring while on the inside Cousin Jamie uses an eye rake on Spike to gain him some breathing room and making the comeback hits a bridged Northern Lights suplex on his opponent to pick up the win and once again retain his Title!Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's huge Main Even which will see "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair take on Circus of Doom leader "The Ring Master" Matt Borne one on one. They talk about how Borne pinned Flair last month and has been on a roll of late, with his Circus of Doom picking up several wins over the Four Horsemen. They tell us that it was Flair who asked for this match tonight to shut Matt Borne up once and for all. Fat chance Lanny retorts. Okerlund isn't sure how wise this was either. With Ric Flair being the # 1 contender for the ECW Championship at Hardcore Heaven a loss to Borne here tonight could be disastrous for his momentum going into the match.
The lights go out as circus music plays and a weird spot light circles about the arena.

Matt Borne in his top hat and suit jacket appears on the ramp and heads down to the ring where he hangs out until Also Sprach Zarathrustra plays and out comes...
Gertner: And now introducing his opponent this evening weighing 243 lbs. from Charlotte, North Caroling he is "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Flair appears on the ramp in his robe and lets out a "Woooo!" for the crowd.Main Event: Ric Flair vs. Matt BorneReferee: Danny Davis As the match gets under way we're reminded that the rest of the Four Horsemen and most of the Dark Circle have been banned from the building. This seems to make no difference to Ric Flair and Matt Borne who tear into one another right at the bell. Borne thunders punches on "Naitch" while Flair fires back with chops about the ring. Flair makes the first cover following a gutwrench suplex on Borne, but it's "The Ring Master" who looks most impressive when he locks "The Nature Boy" in the Stump Puller single leg inverted Boston Crab following a running powerslam! Flair is nowheres near the ropes and screams in pain as he struggles and claws his way across the ring!
And he makes it to the ropes! Flair is still in trouble however as Borne piles on the punches and gets a two off a bridged German Suplex. Flair kicks free only to be locked in a headlock for a bit before making the comeback and battling his way out! The two men battle back and forth until Ric reverses an Irish Whip and sends "The Ring Master" airborne with a big back body drop! And he starts strutting about the ring as he delivers several knee drops to Borne! He then goes for the figure four!
But Borne kicks his way free and jumping to his feet nails Flair with a clothesline! He makes a quick cover, but doesn't even gets a two before dragging Ric to the corner and throws him up into it where he begins pounding him! Flair isn't having it for long though as he jams his thumbs into Borne's eyes and reverses their positions before chopping him down! Ric Flair then climbs up onto the second rope and begins hammering him in the head as the fans count along! 1! 2! 3! 4! 5! 6! 7! 8! 9! 10! Woooo! He throws Borne into the middle of the ring and going up top connects with a diving knee drop! And makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Borne kicks out! Flair keeps on top of him, but "The Ring Master" breaks free and hits him with a quick sidewalk slam! Barely gets a two again with the cover and Flair is right back up! The two men brawl about the ring and Matt Borne drills Flair headfirst into the turnbuckle before strutting about the ring! He's mocking Flair before going up top and leaps off looking for the Whoopie Cushion seated senton! Intead he gets an assfull of canvas as Ric rolls free and grabbing Borne nails him with a piledriver! But he doesn't make the cover! Instead "The Nature Boy" is strutting about the ring! He's styling! He's profiling! And Wooo! He's locked in the figure four! Matt Borne is screaming in pain! Luna Vachon has now appeared on the ramp and is heading down to the ring! But Borne taps! Ric Flair has won it! And he's celebrating by himself! When he's attacked from behind! But it isn't Luna! He spun about and layed low by the Rude Awakening delayed hangman's neckbreaker! It's Rick Rude!"Ravishing" Rick Rude stands over his opponent at Hardcore Heaven '96 as he gets on the microphone he tells Ric Flair that this 1988 and they aren't fighting over Fifi. That this is ECW Flair and "Ravishing" Rick Rude is the one-time Eastern States Champion! The two-time ECW Champion! That while "The Nature Boy" might be used to getting what he wants back where he's from, here in Eastern Championship it's an all new ballgame and an all new Rick Rude. Cause here in ECW Rick Rude gets what he wants, when he wants. And next week that means him pinning Ric Flair in this ring 1-2-3! Welcome to 1996!

4/27/96 - Viking Hall Philadelphia, PAThe "Original Rocking 'N Rolling" broadcast team of Buck Zumhoff and The Honky Tonk Man welcome us to Viking Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for another action-packed episode of ECW Weekend Warriors! Before running down this week's show they inform us that there won't be a Weekend Warriors broadcast next week because of the ECW PPV event Hardcore Heaven! But when they return they'll be shaking up the format! HTM says he's all about shaking things up baby.
They then tell us about tonight's show which will include a match for the ECW Light Heavyweight Title where the "Double" Champions The Bayou Boys will defend their Titles against Germany's favorite son, Aryan von Raschke! Honky says speaking of Title shots, Zumhoff has been on a real roll the past couple of weeks. First failing to regain the Light Heavyweight Title from Cousin Jamie and then losing to Tully Blanchard on this past week's show. Buck tells him at least he's been in the ring in recent memory. Finally they tell us that in tonight's huge Main Event that ECW Tag-Team Champions will be in non-Title action against The Hughes Brothers!
Joel Gertner then makes the intros for the first match of the night. Danny Davis referees all matches.# 1 Contender's Match: Tiffany vs. Debbie Combs At the outset of the match we learn from Buck and the HTM that this match is to determine who the #1 contender will be facing ECW Women's Champ Jacqueline Moore at Hardcore Heaven '96! "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs dominates Tiffany nearly the entire match, but when she goes for a superplex off the top, Tiffany blocks it and sets her up for the Iconoclasm! She hits it and picks up the upset victory here. HTM says if Combs is upset, maybe he should leave to console her. Maybe take her to the Heartbreak Hotel.ECW Light Heavyweight Title Triple Theat Match: Cousin Jamie w/ Doug Gilbert vs. Aryan von Raschke w/ The Baron Cousin Jamie and Aryan von Raschke would have a good back and forth match going if not for the blatant inference by "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert on several occasions. When Aryan's manager The Baron von Raschke attempts to interfere on his son's behalf, he only makes things worse and while Danny Davis berates the Baron, The Bayou Boys hits Aryan with a double DDT and Cousin Jamie makes the cover! 1!..."White Train" by Tito & Tarantula hits! And out from the back swaggers ECW President Eric Bischoff! He tells Davis to stops the count! He then tells the Bayou Boys he's finally figured out how to stop them from keeping the Title night after night. Seperate them! But knowing that Gilbert will just find some new way to interfere, he has a more interesting solution in mind! Tonight's match is now a Triple Threat match for the Title!
Aryan isn't happy with this news either however and yelling at Bischoff in German ends up getting schoolboyed by the Lightweight Champ Cousin Jamie! 1!... 2!.... Doug Gilbert breaks up the cover! Cousin Jamie looks shocked by this and the Bayou Boys begin pushing one another! Soon they're brawling about the ring! Aryan von Raschke looks a bit confused as to how to proceed when the Baron calls him to his corner where they confer. The Bayou Boys meanwhile are beating the living hell out of one another and soon Doug Gilbert is pulled away from his cousin and hit with a vicious Sieg Heil! superkick that sends him tumbling over the top rope! Cousin Jamie then gets a boot to the gut and dropped with a double underhook DDT! On the outside the Baron locks in the Clawhold on Doug! And on the inside Aryan makes the cover!
And he picks up the win! Aryan von Raschke is the new ECW Light Heavyweight Champion!Match: Junkyard Dog vs. Matt Hardy w/ Jeff Hardy Young Matt Hardy gives the Junkyard Dog all he can handle, but it proves not to be enough and he gets flattened with the Thump! front powerslam for the three count. Junkyard Dog celebrates inside the ring when "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch appears on the big screen?!JYD isn't happy to see his former ally who tells Junkyard how he might've found hitting him with a chair last week good fun, but.... Junkyard Dog is attacked from behind!
By Dick Murdoch! What in the hell?! Honky seems to think there're two "Captain Rednecks" now, but Buck says it's obvious it was a pre-recorded segment and someone must've shake, rattled; and rolled Farris' brain. After hitting Junkyard Dog with a vicious brainbuster, Murdoch storms his way up the ramp.Zumhoff and HTM welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening befor reminding us that ECW Weekend Warriors won't be on next Saturday, but will return the following week in it's usual timeslot right here on TNN The Nashville Network! They then hype tonight's huge tag-team Main Event!
Gertner: The following non-Title contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first at a combined weight of 430 lbs.; Devon and Spike; The Hughes Brothers! Testify! The Hughes Brothers come out to Mannish Boy by Muddy Waters in their black hats and suits.
Gertner: And now introducing at a combined 498 lbs.; they are the ECW Tag-Team Champions; "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer and "The American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes!Main Event: Rhodes & Dreamer vs. The Hughes Brothers Tommy Dreamer in a neck brace starts things out with Spike Hughes as the match gets underway. Honky Tonk quips that he didn't realize this was a handicap match. Capitalizing on their injured opponents, Devon and Spike do really well against the Tag-Team Champs, Devon nearly forcing Dreamer to submit with a rear headlock and getting a nearfall on him with a spinebuster. Spike comes within a second of winning after hitting "The Innovator" with the corner springboard cutter and gets two counts on Dustin Rhodes using a diving clothesline and a Tornado DDT. The Tag-Team Champions hang in there and get in a good amount of offense themselves as they battle it out with the Hughes Brothers. The end comes with Dustin hits a diving clothesline on Devon seemingly aggravating his taped up arm. Dustin Rhodes however picks himself up in time to hit the Black Out kneeling facebuster and score the win. The Tag Champs share a shot from Dustin's flask when the Talking Heads begin to play?And out comes "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit in his sunglasses and trenchcoat! He claps mockingly and tells the duo that he's glad they held in there. Because if anyone's going to take those Tag-Team titles off of Dreamer and Rhodes it's going to be him and his new partner! Benoit says he searched high and low to find someone on the level of Rhodes and Dreamer to make it somewhat of a fair fight. And he found him in Hollywood, California. His new Tag-Team partner, soon to be one-half of the ECW Tag-Team Champions; Bobby Starr!Benoit pats Starr on the back a bit too hard and begins chuckling uncomfortably as the...Lights Fade.
