3/6/96 - Casper Civics Center Casper, WY"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us all to the Casper Civics Center in Casper, Wyoming for another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling! They then talk a bit about last week's show including ECW President Eric Bischoff bringing in the Nasty Boys to punish the "Double" Lightweight Champs the Bayou Boys for destroying the Lightweight Title and "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit's ongoing war with the Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer. Their main focus however was the insane Main Event in which ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude faced "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango for the Title in a Steel Cage! The entire Dark Circle interfered on Shango's behalf, but their plans were thwarted when the former Eastern States Champion Sir William Regal attacked the man who defeated him for the belt back at King of the Mountain; Brimstone!
They then hype tonight's huge show which will see "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit in action as well as the # 1 contender for the Eastern States Title, "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin! Also on tonight's huge card The Bayou Boys will take on the Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer! They don't get any further when..."Straight Outta Compton" by the NWA hits and out comes The Reverend Slick and "Hacksaw" Butch Reed?! The duo hit the ring and Slick tells us that he's sick of the blatant racism in this company. Beyond that hayseed "Captain Redneck's" antics; Eastern Championship recently had the first memorable Champion of African descent in recent wrestling history. Hell, maybe all of wrestling knowing this cracker ass sport? And what does management do? They conspire against the black man of course! They don't put one white boy in the ring against the Eastern Heavyweight Champ Papa Shango at King of the Mountain! Oh no! They puts in two, count 'em two cracker ass crackers to steal the belt from his people! And he's sick of it! Which is why he's stating here and now he won't rest until another African holds that Title! So Papa Shango? If you need a hand from The Reverend and Butch Reed, you got it brother!Voodoo music then hits! Mist fills the arena as the lights go out and when they come back on "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango is in the ring and he has The Dark Circle with him! Slick looks a bit spooked by this sudden appearance, but quickly recovers and tells Papa Shango how his rights have been violated and how they as a people need to take action against this injustice. Together!
Papa Shango takes the microphone from Slick and is silent for a while. He then flatly say "No." He then tells Slick and Reed how they're parasites. That through the power of the Dark Lord and his own two hands Papa Shango became the Eastern Heavyweight Champion! And now they want use, abuse; and confuse by making everything about the color of his skin. Oh no. Evil has no color. And the only color the two of them stand behind is the color yellow. Because they're scared. Cowards. Looking for the easy way out. Well they should be. Because before them stands the one true power! The power that churns within the stilled heart of The Dark Circle! And now they're ensnared and shall be engulfed inside it!
And with that Papa Shango bashes Slick with a hard right! Butch Reed tries to help, but the rest of The Dark Circle are on top of him like a pack of Jackals. They beat and stomp him while "The Soul Stealer" manhandles The Reverend. Slick pleads with Shango to stop, even calling him Brickhouse on occasion, but "The Soul Stealer" doesn't relent and hits him with his inverted Voodoo shoulderbreaker! With his manager out cold, the Dark Circle tire of pummeling a haggard looking Butch Reed who's hung up in the corner and Brimstone grabs him and flattens him with a pumphandle release powerbomb. The Dark Circle stand victorious over them when..."Ravishing" Rick Rude's strip theme hits! And out swaggers the ECW Champion! He has the Title around his waist and Sir William Regal at his side! On the mic Rude tells Shango he ain't out here to be no hero. He could care less if "The Soul Stealer" wants to teach "The Natural" and that Al Sharpton wannabe a lesson. However he is here because he has some business of his own with their little goth knitting club. And that's this. Last week? He tried to steal his Title. The witch doctor and his big, dumb pal there. And before moving on he wants to get himself a little payback. So him and his friend Sir William Regal had a little talk with Eric Bischoff and he's granted them a special request. In tonight's Main Event they'll be teaming together! Against "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango! And "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone!
Shango and Brimstone seem to have mixed feelings about this news as ECW takes it's first...Back from the break Lanny thinks Ron Garvin may be going soft in the head in his old age, having requested the next match as a warm-up to his shot at the Eastern States Championship in just two weeks.Match: Rhino w/ Mongo Vyle vs. Ron Garvin Rhino is not someone to take lightly and Ronnie Garvin makes this mistake early on in this match officiated by S.D. Jones. As a result he nearly getting pinned twice when "The Man-Beast" nails him with a gutwrench suplex and later the Gore striking spear. Garvin shows some amazing resiliency here by kicking out of both and battles his way back, getting a two count off the Garvin Stomp and a nearfall after an attempted Knock Out punch! Okerlund says you can never under estimate the power of the Hands of Stone. Rhino however just kicks out and rolls from the ring to safety while nursing his chin. Ronnie Garvin follows him out and realizes he's made another mistake when he's ambushed by "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle! Garvin recovers after taking a couple cheap shots and starts throwing punches with Vyle, eventually getting the better of the big man and whips him into the steel ringpost! From there he slides back into the ring where Rhino is waiting to stomp him out! He then goes for a suplex, but Garvin blocks it and pulls "The Man-Beast's" legs out from under him! Ronnie Garvin then locks Rhino into the figure-four! Rhino attempts to reach the ropes, but gives in and Garvin picks up the win bia Submission. Okerlund says that "The Rugged One" has just sent a huge message to the Eastern States Champion Brimstone here tonight. ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels is in front of the ECW banner talking to "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit who shows no emotion behind his black sunglasses about his match last week and whethere or not he's concerned he may've went too far and hurt Tag-Team Champion Tommy Dreamer. Chris chuckles unsettingly and tells Terri that the only person who should be concerned by the so-called "Innovator" is Tommy Dreamer himself. Because what Dreamer will soon realize is that last week was the tip of the iceberg. Last week? That was just softening Dreamer up for the kill. Match: Chris Benoit vs. Chris Chetti Christ Chetti's career looks like it's going to be a short one as he makes his ECW debut against "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit who manhandles the young grappler more than he has to before taking Chetti up top and throws him down to the canvas with a high speed release powerbomb before hitting him with a diving headbutt. Davis mercifully makes a fast count and a stretcher is brought in to haul what's left of Chetti away. Match: Spike Hughes w/ Devon vs. Douglas Williams Little Spike Hughes has a good back and forth battle with "The U.K. Kidd" Douglas Williams, each man getting several nearfalls with Williams hitting his impress wasit-lock backward roll transitioned into a bridged German Suplex! Spike however just kicks out and ends up scoring the upset after hitting the corner springboard cutter. S.D. Jones makes the count. After the match we're brought backstage to the office of ECW President Eric Bischoff who's talking with The Nasty Boys! Jerry Sags and Brian Knobs who're pleased with themselves after beating on the Bayou Boys have the feet up on his desk, but soon become alot more animated when Bischoff says he isn't happy with what went down last week. He wanted Cousin Jamie and Doug Gilbert decimated, down and out; embarrassed last week! And instead the Nasty Boys let them pull off a win! Those two goofs have been celebrating that win all week. The Nasty Boys don't like this and argue with Eric, saying that he's trying to cheat them out of the Title shots he promised and it looks like they might attack him. Wisely he calms down and says that's water under the bridge though. Because tonight he has scheduled a match that should make all three of them happy. The Bayou Boys will be facing the Tag-Team Champions. So the Nasty Boys can go after two birds with one stone. Saggs repeats two birds with one stone. He and Knobbs like it!Gene and Lanny welcome us back from the break before reminding us next week Eastern Championship will be coming to us live from the Worthington Arena in Bozeman, Montana! And that while tickets for that show are sold out, those folks at home should tune in right here on ECW's home station of TNN The Nashville Network! Speaking of tuning in, Okerlund has some exciting news for us because starting in April there'll be another hour of exciting Eastern Championship Wrestling action every Saturday Night as TNN presents ECW Weekend Warriors! More infor on this exciting new program will be announced in the weeks to come.Tag-Team Match: The Bayou Boys vs. Dustin Rhodes & Tommy Dreamer After Dosey Doeing about the ring together The Bayou Boys are ready for action and take the fight to the Tag-Team Champions in this non-Title bout. Dustin Rhodes starts things off and Lanny wants to know just what the hell Tommy Dreamer is doing out here being in a neckbrace again. Okerlund doesn't think it's the best idea either, especially when he gets in the ring. Cousin Jamie and Doug Gilbert take full advantage of Dreamer's condition too, with Jamie in particular looking like he's going to pull Tommy's head off while wrenching a rear headlock for all it's worth. Eventually the "Innovator" escapes however with a DDT on Jamie and tags "The American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes back in! He makes the cover on Jamie getting a two and keeps control of the match even once Doug Gilbert gets tagged back in.The match however gets thrown out by Danny Davis when....The Nasty Boys attack! This certainly surprises Tommy Dreamer who's been obviously keeping an eye out for Chris Benoit the whole time. Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags put a beating on both team, Nasty Clubberin' all four men! Knobs then heads outside and throws a garbage can inside the ring while Jerry Sags lies the Bayou Boys on top of one another. Climbing inside Knobs slams the garbage can on top of the Boys while Sags goes up top and delivers a diving elbow drop to it! Afterwards Brian Knobs reaches into Dustin Rhodes' pockets and removes the flask which the Nasty Boys drink out of before spilling the remainder all over him and Dreamer whom they tell "You're Next!" Back from the break ECW Correpsondent Terri Runnels is in front of the ECW banner with "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Debbie Combs! Savage is all fired up and tells us that "The Ravishing One" had better be ready brother! Cause while he might've walked out of that Steel Cage the ECW Champion; history won't be repeating itself when he steps into the ring with the "Macho Man" Randy Savage! Ooooh Yeah!Match: Aryan von Raschke vs. Prince Nana Osei Bandoh The next match officiated by S.D. Jones debuts Prince Nana Osei Bandoh. Lanny says that's certainly a mouthful while Gene tells us he's actual royalty, being Prince of the Ashanti Tribe. Poffo says that he guesses there was a quota that needed to be filled after the departure of Jerry "The King" Lawler. Surprisingly Prince Nana's opponent Aryan von Raschke and his father The Baron don't take kindly to this newcomer and Aryan acts like a monkey to taunt Prince Nana several times. Though he is young, Nana seems very determined and takes the fight right to Aryan. After several nearfalls by both men, with Nana dominating Aryan a bit toward the end; The Baron Von Raschke enters the ring and locks the cocky Prince in the Brain Claw! Seeing this, Jones goes to break it up and eats a Sieg Heil! superkick for his troubles! Finished punishing Nana, The Baron drops him to the mat and leaves with Aryan.Back from the break again we're taken in front of the ECW banner where Terri Tunnels is with The Four Horsemen! Wooo! Ric Flair knows that all the ladies out there have noticed the absence of "The Naitch." Especially the lovely Miss Terri. But never fear "The Nature Boy" is here. As we all know the Horsemen do what they want, when they want; and whomever they want. So over the last two weeks they've been living it up in the City of Sin; Las Vegas! We see a video of the Four Horsemen eating at expensive restaurants, gambling big sums of money at casinos (and winning); and partying it up with the girls while Flair tells us that they needed some time to recharge and energized they are baby! And ready, set to go against The Dark Circle! So Baron Samedi and his little minions better watch themselves; cause the Apocalypse is upon them brother! Wooo!Match: Jacqueline Moore w/ Brian Lawler vs. Debbie Combs "Too Cool" Brian Christopher joins Gene and Lanny at the broadcast booth and wants to know why they be "playin'" him by continuing to call him Brian Lawler yo. Inside the ring Debbie Combs gives Jacqueline Moore a run for her money, getting a two count following a swinging neckbreaker. Danny Davis makes the count.Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's huge Main Event! They talk about Rick Rude and Papa Shango's ongoing feud over the ECW Title, with "The Soul Stealer" having ended "The Ravishing One's" first run with the Title back at Wrestle Annual 2 in December. Since then Rude won the Title back at King o the Mountain and just last week defended the Title in a rematch with Shango in a Steel Cage! A pin for Shango here tonight would put him right back on the road to regaining the belt while a win for Rude put an end to Shango's chances at regaining the Title.
They then talk about William Regal's own recent Title loss to "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone at King of the Mountain. Regal returned last week to stop Brimstone from cheating Rick Rude out of the Eastern Heavyweight Championship and "The Prophet" will surely be looking for some payback here tonight. With a rematch for William Regal in the near future, a win here tonight could go a long way in building the momentum needed for Regal to regain the Eastern States Title or Brimstone keeping it. Certainly alot on the line here tonight. Voodoo music then hits for the second time tonight as mist fills the arena while the lights go out.
Gertner: The following Tag-Team match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from The Bowels of Hell weighing a combined 560 lbs.; they are "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango and the Eastern States Champion Brimstone!
Shango gives some voodoo theatrics while Brimstone plods down to ringside beside him. Inside the ring referee S.D. Jones checks them for weapons.
Gertner: And now introducing their opponents this evening at a combined 491 lbs.; Sir William Regal and the ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude!Tag-Team Main Event: Rick Rude & William Regal vs. Papa Shango & Brimstone Papa Shango wants Rick Rude's head and enters first. This brings in Rude and the two men brawl about the ring early on. There's little wrestling and the two men pound away on one another until "Ravishing" hits a clothesline on Shango that sends both men over the top rope and out of the ring! Rick Rude keeps control on the outside, beating on Shango before whipping him hard into the steel barricade where he takes him by the head and starts slamming him into the steel! He doesn't have time for much else however when Brimstone arrives on the scene and flattens him with a bicycle kick! Regal is right there however and attacks Brimstone! The two men begin brawling about ringside while Shango proceeds to stomp out Rude. Rolling Rick back into the ring, Papa scales the turnbuckle from the outside where he remains perched until "Ravishing" gets back up on shaky footing and lets him have it with a missile dropkick! Shango with the cover!
And Rude kicks out at two! Shango keeps in control of the match for a bit, with a headlock and several knee strikes as needed. Eventually Rude overpowers his opponent and drives him back into the corner where he begins wailing on him! He goes up top and the fans chant along as he gets 1!2!3!4! 5! 6! shots in on Shango!
When the voodoo priest scoops up his opponent and charges into the ring for a sitout spinebuster! 1!... 2!
Rick kicks free! Shango begins clubbing Rude, trying to keep him down again but "The Ravishing One" battles out with several kicks before whipping Shango into the ropes and hits an inverted atomic drop! And as Papa reels from the blow; Rude drops him with a DDT! And the cover!
But Brimstone comes running in and breaks the count just before the three! He hammers on Rude a bit before smashing him into the canvase with a Chokeslam from Hell! Regal comes running in and gets one of his own! S.D. Jones however order Brimstone from the ring and reluctantly he goes. Regal rolls to the outside while Rude and Shango catch a breather on the mat. Though they're both down, neither man is able to capitalize. Rude however is up first and getting to his corner tags in William Regal!
And Regal unloads on the former ECW Champ! Papa Shango doesn't no what hit him as the Brit comes in and cleans house, going for a cover following Regal double underhook Bomb and later a bridging German suplex. Shango just hangs in there both times and only escapes at all due to Brimstone distracting the ref; allowing Papa to let Regal have it with a face full of Voodoo Mist!
Regal screams in pain and "The Soul Stealer" makes the hot tag to Brimstone! The big man immediately launches himself into the ring with a slingshot clothesline over the top rope nearly taking Regal's head off! He pulls Sir William up to his feet and begins hammering across the ring, backing him into the corner; but Regal begins firing back! He's mostly blind but he's going punch for punch with the much larger Brimstone! It soon becomes clear that "The Dark Propher" is getting the better of him and he whips Regal across the ring before connecting with a big side slam and a cover! 1!... 2!...
Regal kicks out! Brimstone continues battering on Regal whom he throws about the ring for a bit until going for a poweslam! But Regal perches on the big man's shoulders and begins bashing his head in! "The Dark Pophet" falls back into the corner where William Regal springs off the ropes with a bulldog! He then rolls Brimstone over and locks in the Regal arm trap cross-legged STF! Brimstone grits his teeth and hauls himself toward the ropes breaking the hold!
He back eblows Regal off and getting back to his feet fires off with a clothesline! But Regal ducks it and counters with the Regal Cutter! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!
Brimstone powers out! Regal then attempts to keep on top of the agile big man, but Brimstone throws him off! And as Regal comes back at him he lays him out with the Big Boot! "The Dark Propher" then tags Papa Shango back in! And the sneaky shaman dives in with the cover!
But Regal kicks out again! Papa Shango is pissed and grabbing Regal locks in the Anaconda Vise! Sir William is in pain but he's fighting it! And he battles his way out! He rolls out to his corner with "The Soul Stealer" right on his tail! And Rick Rude comes in swinging! Regal has made the tag!
A fired up Rick Rude unloads on Papa Shango for a bit, but eventually the witch doctor catches Rick's hand and begins firing back! Rick Rude isn't to be denied however and he dominates most of the remainder of the match hitting Shango with a diving knee drop and a spike piledriver! He's still in control when Papa Shango slides out of the ring getting S.D. Jones annoyed at him. While Jones begins the count, Brimstone enters the ring, hoists Rick Rude up and squashes him with a military press drop! Papa Shango re-enters the ring at six and goes up top! As a dazed Rick Rude gets up to his feet Papa Shango nails him with a flying crossbody press! He hooks the stunned Champ's leg! 1!... 2!...
3! Papa Shango has pinned the ECW Champion! Shango and Brimstone stand victorious before turning toward the prone Rick Rude ready to pounce! But William Regal pulls the Champ from the ring! Regal and Rude exchange some heated words with The Dark Circle as the...

3/13/95 - Worthington Arena Bozeman, MT"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to the Worthington Arena in Bozeman, Montana for the first ever ECW broadcast from the Treasure State! Argh! They have a big show lined up for us tonight, but first they recap last week's show including The Dark Circle's savage attack on "Hacksaw" Butch Reed and his manager the Reverend Slick; and from what Lanny's heard they've gone Straight Back to Compton. They also talk about the huge Tag-Team Main Event in which "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango pinned ECW Champ "Ravishing" Rick Rude earning himself another shot at the Title!
They then begin hyping this week's huge show which will see both the Eastern States Champion Brimstone and the # 1 contender for his Title "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin in action. The Four Horsemen will also return to action this week after a three week hiatus when they face off against the Circus of Doom! And in a huge Main Event ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude will face "Mr. Wednesday Night" himself Rob Van Dam! Finally they discuss a match stemming out of last week's show when ECW President Eric Bischoff's hired goons The Nasty Boys attacked both the Bayou Boys and the Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer! And in our first match of the night the Nasties will face the Boys of the Bayou!
Joe Gertner handles the intros.Tag-Team Match: The Bayou Boys vs. The Nasty Boys And the Nasty Boys mostly mandhandle the Bayou Boys again in this match officiated by referee Danny Davis. Cousin Jamie do fair better this time out however and get in decent offense here and there including Cousin Jamie dropping Jerry Sags with a missile dropkick for a two count and Doug Gilbert giving Brian Knobs a temporary stay in the Clawhold. The Bayou Boys' best bit in the match however is when they get the Nasties hung up in opposing corners and they perform a Dosey Doe body avalanche on both of them. Knobs and Sags however dominate most of the match, treating the Bayou Boys to a double trip to the Pit Stop before finally hitting "The Redneck Rebel" with a double DDT onto a garbage can for the win!
The Nasty boys celebrate their big win and make belt gestures around their ample waists when down the ramp come the Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer weilding singapore canes! They attack the Nasties from behind and end up snapping the canes over the heads of both Knobs and Sags and share a drink from Rhodes' flask before the... In front of the ECW banner is ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels who is talking with "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit about the attack on Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes last week by the Nasty Boys. Behind his shades Chris laughs. And it's a bit unsettling. Nasty? he says snidely. They don't know the meaning of the word...Match: Erin O' Grady vs. Dick Murdoch After tossing his gold coins to the crowd "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady has a nice back and forth bout with "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch who's wears a "Black History Month" t-shirt to the ring. Both men make several pin attempts including Erin hitting a hurrancanrana for a two count and a corner springboard bulldog for another. Midway through the match however Dick Murdoch hits a brainbuster and makes the cover which Erin just barely kicks out of. From there he never recovers and Murdoch dominates the match until "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen hits!
Dick Murdoch looks toward the ramp spooked when Erin O'Grady grabs him from behind for a schoolboy! 1! 2! 3! "The Leprechaun" has defeated the "Redneck!" Murdoch is pissed as he leaps back to his feet, only to find out he's now standing in the ring face to face with his tag-team partner Junkyard Dog! He seems to be trying to reason with the Dog when JYD lets him have it with a hard right hand! Dick hits the ground hard and looks up at Junkyard in shock as he gets on the microphone Junkyard Dog says that while Butch Reed and that idiot Slick may get alot of things wrong about people; they certainly got one thing right. And that's not to trust Dick Murdoch. He tells him to keep clear of him from now on, or he'll learn that this is one dog whose bite is far worse than his bark. After the break Sir William Regal says that he's met unstoppable forces before. And in the past they all had one thing in common; he stopped them. So he's going to give credit where credit is do; the Eastern States Champion Brimstone defeated him at King of the Mountain. He isn't going to cry about it. But like his ancestors of yore he's going to pick himself up, get back on the horse; and slay that dragon. Because one thing's for certain Brimstone, while you may've taken the Eastern States Championship; you certainly aren't going to keep it.Match: Ronnie Garvin vs. Steve Blackman Steve Blackman comes to the ring with his manager Captain Lou Albano where he gives a martial arts demonstration with his kendo sticks before locking up with Ronnie Garvin. Blackman dishes out a good bit of punishment with a roundhouse kick that gets him a near two and a bridged Fisherman's suplex that almost gets him the win. Toward the end of the match while Garvin is in control, Albano jumps up on the apron and hits Garvin in the head with a Kendo Stick! But Garvin dodges it and it connects on "The Silent Assassin" instead! Pissed off, Garvin turns about and knocks Albano out cold off the apron with the Hands of Stone! He then makes a quick cover on Blackman and Danny Davis makes the count. After the match we're taken to the ECW banner where ECW correspondent Terri Runnels is speaking with "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango who obviously creeps her out. He rants and raves about his defeat of "Ravishing" Rick Rude last week. How he sent him to the very depths of Hell and sealed his fate with a 1-2-3! Now he wants that Title shot and he wants it Tonight! Just then off-camera we here an "OOOOOh No!"And in comes the "Macho Man" Randy Savage. He tells Shango that he already had his chance two weeks ago. Yeah. And if the "Macho Man" calls correctly it was Shango who went down for the three count brother. So now it's the time for Randy Savage to reign supreme and regain the Eastern Heavyweight Championship! Oooh Yeah!
Papa Shango is now furious and tells Savage that while his powers may have once been great, they are a pale shadow of his former self. He tells "Macho Man" that his time is over. That it's time for a new force to arise! And that unlimited power dwells within the center of the Dark Circle! Beware Savage or be engu---
Randy Savage apparently had enough of that and decks Papa Shango knocking his top hate off! He has the clear upperhand, but the two men are soon brawling back and forth as Terri fearfully gets out of the way and someone calls for security who is soon on hand to try and break it up.Back from the break Gene and Lanny discuss ECW's new program airing Saturday nights called ECW Weekend Warriors which will be right here on ECW's home station of TNN The Nashville Network! Speaking of which, be sure to tune in right here next week when ECW comes to us live from the BSU Pavilion in Boise, Idaho! Select tickets for this show are still available, so be sure to call your local ticket provider for more info.Tag-Team Match: Ric Flair & Barry Windham w/ Anderson & Blanchard vs. Borne & Pogo w/ Destruction Inc. "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair starts things off with Matt Borne and the two men brawl about the ring while the announcers talk a bit about the tension between Arn Anderson and Ric Flair during the Horsemen's last match. The two men seem to me on good terms again. Flair meanwhile has control of the match and chops "The Ring Master" about the ring a bit before going up onto the second rope and connecting with a knee drop and the cover! Danny Davis makes the count! 1!... 2!
Borne kicks out! Ric keeps on top of the Circus of Doom's leader for a bit, locking him in a rear chinlock for a bit. Eventually however Matt rallies back and "The Ring Master" hits Flair with a bridged German suplex for two. He then tags in the monstrous Pogo the Clown whom he has a stern talking to before smacking in the face at ringside! Heading back over to Flair, Borne hits him with a knee drop while Pogo the Clown goes up top?! And hits Ric Flair with a huge Splash! Ric Flair is dead. Pogo hooks the leg! 1!... 2!...
Flair gets his shoulder up! Lanny says we should be looking for Papa Shango, because somebody just performed a resurrection! The damage is done however and Pogo the Clown mandhandles "Naitch" throwing him about the ring and clobbering him in the corner until he whips Flair hard into the corner and connects with a Body Avalanche! And he whips him again! This time when the big man charges in however, Flair gets his boot up and catches Pogo flush in the mush! (;-)) Flair dodges to his corner and tags in Barry Windham!
Big Barry is fired up after watching his good friend get tossed about like a ragdoll and comes in swinging. Pogo don't know what hit him and soon finds himself flat on his back following a vicious lariat and Windham makes the cover! But he only gets a two.
Windham continues beating on Pogo the Clown, but makes a mistake when he goes for a Powerbomb and Pogo counters it before hitting one of his own! He then tags in Matt Borne who locks Windham into the Stump Puller single leg inverted Boston Crab! Barry however refuses to tap and turning himself over kicks Borne off of him! Matt hits the ropes and on the return runs right into a scoop slam! Windham makes the cover! But into the ring comes Mongo Vyle and Rhyno who stomp him off before whipping him into the corner where they begin beating on him! Ric Flair runs in to the rescue and is soon joined by Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson! The two teams brawl about the ring for while Davis tries to restore some order to the chaos. Before he does however Flair and Anderson nail "The Ring Master" with a spike piledriver! Windham then tags in Flair and "The Naitch" begins strutting about the ring. He picks up Flair, but "The Ring Master" has been playing possum and rolls him up into a small package!! 1!... 2!...
3! Matt Borne has pinned Ric Flair! And "The Nature Boy" is livid! He's pulling his air and turning a shade of red that just can't be healthy as he storms about the ring! Matt Borne meanwhile slides out and joins his cohorts on the outside while having a laugh at Flair's expense. The Four Horsemen then enter the ring and Arn Anderson attempts to calm Flair down, but Flair shoves "The Enforcer!" He yells at Arn for a bit while Anderson looks to be keeping the peace as ECW goes to...Match: Brimstone vs. Jason Venom w/ Steve Corino These two big men collide in the middle of the ring and have a knock-out drag out brawl. Venom gets some good offense in including a Snake Eyes in the corner on the Eastern States Champion while "Mr. Wrestling" Steve Corino runs interference on the outside. In the end however Brimstone nails Venom with the Pendulum Swing diving clotheline and gets the win from S.D. Jones. Steve Corino then attacks him from behind and ends up eating a Chokeslam from Hell.
After the match "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone gets on the mic and tells us he's heard the big words from the little man from Blackpool. And that if he doesn't want to suffer the fate of Job he'd best find another mountain to climb. He then pulls out an old book and solemnly reads:
No more for thee the laughter and the song, The jocund night-the glory of the day! The Argive daughters' at their labours long; The hell-bird swooping on its Titan prey.Match: Dean Malenko vs. Jeff Hardy Young Jeff Hardy uses his speed and superior agility to keep "Mean" Dean Malenko on his toes. It works for a little while, but eventually Malenko catches Hardy with a powerbomb that he trainsitions into the Texas Cloverlead. Jeff shows some fortitude by pulling himself to the ropes; but it definitely slows him down. Dean Malenko dominates the remainder of the match before finishing Jeff Hardy off with a bridging cradle suplex. Danny Davis makes the count. After the match we're taken to the ECW banner where Terri Runnels talks with the ECW Women's Champion Jacqueline Moore and "Too Cool" Brian Christopher. Jacqueline company is a match for her in the ring.Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's huge Main Event which will see "Ravishing" Rick Rude take on "Mr. Wedensday Night" Rob Van Dam! There's definitely some bad blood between these two, Rude having ended Van Dam's run with the Eastern States Title back at King of the Mountain '95. Rob has since been unable to recapture the belt, while Rick Rude has gone on to win the Eastern Heavyweight Championship twice! RVD has everything to prove here tonight. "Poundcake" by Van Halen hits.
Gertner: The following non-Title contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Battle Creek, Michigan weighing 237 lbs. he is "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam!
RVD still has his fans and some of the crowd chant "Rob... Van... Dam!" when he comes out onto the ramp and points to his shoulders before joining referee S.D. Jones inside the ring. Just then Rick Rude's strip theme hits and out comes...
Gertner: And now introducing his challenger this evening, a man that needs no intoduction; from Robbinsdale, Minnesota weighing in 251 lbs.; he is the ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude!Main Event: Rick Rude vs. Rob Van Dam Rick Rude tries to start the match out cordially by extending a hand to Rob Van Dam whom he appeared to be friends with at one point. Van Dam takes it and the fans cheer until he uses it to catch the Champ offguard with a leg sweep and proceeds to hit a standing moonsault on Rude for the first cover of the night! Rude however keeps out at two. This really sets the tone of the match as the two men continually try to one-up the other, pulling out all the stops. RVD gets several nearfalls on the Champ hitting a float-over DDT, a corskscrew springboard legdrop; and the Rolling Thunder on Rude.
Rick retaliates with a diving knee drop, a DDT of his own, a belly to back piledriver; and even breaks out the overhead gutwrench backbreaker rack on "Mr. Wednesday Night" midway through the match. Though this last one slows Rob down a little, neither man seems to have any quit in them and no end seems to be in sight when Van Dam connects with a monkey flip! Rick Rude bounces on his ass and up to his feet as Rob charges in and gets nailed with a Rude Awakening delayed hangman's neckbreaker out of nowhere! Rick Rude hooks Rob Van Dam's leg!
And he gets it! Rude has defeated Van Dam!
Lights Fade.

3/20/96 - BSU Pavilion Boise, ID"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to the BSU Pavilion in Boise, Idaho for another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling! Before talking about last week's show though they inform us that in just three short weeks on Saturday April 6th we'll be seeing the premiere of ECW's newest show ECW Weekend Warriors right here on TNN! They then discuss last week's show including how Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer attacked The Nasty Boys after their match with the Bayou Boys. Speaking of attacks, "Macho Man" Randy Savage also let his feelings be known during an interview segment when he clobbered "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango and Junkyard Dog layed out his longtime tag-team partner here at ECW "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch! Lanny ponders did anyone not get attacked on last week's show? They then tell us about the Circus of Doom's match with The Four Horsemen in which "The Ring Master" Matt Borne pinned "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, which marks Flair's first loss with the company. "Naitch" was justifiably angry after that one, though his choice in taking out his anger on Arn Anderson is questionable according to Okerlund. Finally they talk about the amazing Main Event which saw ECW Champ "Ravishing" Rick Rude defeat "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam.
Tonight we have another exciting show lined up for you as they discuss tonight's card which will see "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard take on Dark Circle members Destruction Inc.! Also on the card the Women's Champ Jacqeline Moore will be in action as will the Eastern States Champion Brimstone as he faces "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin for the Title! Gene can't wait for that one. Lanny tells him he'll have to. They don't get to say much of anything else when Pomp and Circumstance hits and out from the back comes "Macho Man" Randy Savage who storms down to the ring with "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs in tow!Savage is all fired up and says that if "The Soul Stealer" is looking to take his place in line for a Title shot, he's gonna have to do it over his dead body brother. Because "Macho Man" hasn't worn the gold in far too long. Sure he may've put down The Hulkster at Wrestle Annual and Jerry Lawler's punk ass elsewhere; but where it really counts. Winning the Championship Gold. Yeah. He's failed to get the job done. But he's ready and he's anxious. And "Ravishing" Rick Rude didn't pin Randy Savage at King of the Mountain. Oooh no. He may've retained. But it was on the back on Papa Shango! Dig it! And "The Ravishing One" doesn't have what it takes to put down "Machomania!" Never did. Never will. Ooooh yeah!Just then the lights go out and darkness fills the arena as mist creeps in and voodoo drums pound. On the ramp appears "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango! He has the Dark Circle with him as he heads down to the ring. Savage tells Combs to get out of the ring, but he holds his ground as the villainous cabal enters the ring. Papa Shango gets on the mic and tells Randy Savage that he may put on a brave front. May stand in this squared circle. But what these fans can't do and "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango can. Is smell fear! He sniffs about Savage. Yes fear, Shango continues; which only means the "Macho Man" isn't stupid. For in this very ring stands before him the combined powers of the Dark Lord! And those forces could tear him down in the blink of an eye. Reduce this very arena to rubble and turn these people in attendance into so many corpses at Shango's merest command. So fear is only natural. Because Randy Savage stands in his way. And makes a most intriguing offer. "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango can have his chance at the Title over Savage's dead body? Well then. So be it! The two men are on the verge of coming to blows again when they interrupted by "White Train" by Tito & Tarantula! And out from the back swaggers ECW President Eric Bischoff who has a huge announcement regarding the World Title pictures and tonight's Main Event! Bischoff tells us that first off that next week at the Spokane Arena the Main Event at Eastern Championship's first show ever in the state of Washington will be for the Eastern Heavyweight Title! And the man who challenges "Ravishing" Rick Rude here next week will be the winner of tonight's huge Main Event which will pit # 1 contenders "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango against one another! And before The Dark Circle goes getting any ideas, if any of their members touch "Macho Man" before or during the match; Papa Shango's Title chance will be forfeit! So no interference!
Shango seems a bit livid at this last bit while Savage taunts the Dark Circle a bit before the first...Tag-Team Match: Anderson & Blanchard vs. Destruction Inc. w/ Borne & Pogo As usual with these two teams, this match officiated by Danny Davis is a battle. Both sides makes several pin attempts early on with Mongo Vyle hitting the Mongo Masher sitout full Nelson atomic drop on Blanchard and Rhino dropping Arn Anderson with the Gore striking spear! The Horsemen not to be outdone retaliate with a spinebuster on "The Man-Beast" and Tully smashes Mongo into the canvas with a superplex for two counts of their own. The closest fall of the night comes however when Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard smash "The Machiavellan Mauler's" brain in with a spike piledriver! The match however is won by Destruction Inc. when down the ramp charge Barry Windham and Ric Flair! The duo make quick work of Matt Borne on the outside, avoiding the much slower Pogo the Clown as the climb into the ring where they attack Destruction Inc.! Davis calls for the bell, awarding the match to Destruction Inc. via DQ as the Four Horsemen put a beating on the duo. Pogo the Clown meanwhile climbs up onto the apron only to get hammered back down with a running clothesline from Barry Windham! The Four Horsemen stand victorious before the commercial break, but Arn seems to be having some tense words with "The Nature Boy."After the match "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch has a bandage on his cheek and he's fired up about Junk Yard Dog's attack on him last week. He says that clearly that boy has done lost his mind. Murdoch says that he's been carrying JYD's weight, a considerable sum that is he'll tell you; for the last year at least. And Dick is tired of the baggage. Now, in light of their friendship he was willing to let bygones be bygones; but the Dog crossed a line when he put his hands on good ol' "Captain Redneck." Now that boy's gonnna pay.Match: Brian Lawler w/ Jacqueline Moore vs. Michelle Starr Brian Lawler comes to the ring with a new jacket that reads "Too Cool" Brian Christopher" on it. He shows it off a bit before S.D. Jones starts the match. He and "Gorgeous" Michelle Starr have a good back and forth bout going until Michelle gets a bit too grabby with Brian and on the outside the Women's Champ Jacqueline Moore takes offense to this. She jumps up onto the apron and grabs Michelle Starr by the hair, forcing Jones to break it up and when he turns about he walks right into a sitout facebuster from Brian Christopher who makes the cover and picks up the win. After the match Jacqueline enters the ring and puts the boots to Michelle for "touching her man." After the match we're brought in front of the ECW banner where Terri Runnels is talking with the Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer! They talk about their recent troubles with Chris Benoit who'll be dealt with soon enough; but call out The Nasty Boys. Telling that pair of big fat pieces of shit if they want there Titles? Come and get them! The commentators talk about the Tag-Team Champions challenge to the Nasty Boys and Okerlund can't wait to see that one.Match: Chris Benoit vs. Erin O' Grady "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady gets some offense in early on, but "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit catches him in mid-air when he goes for a springboard crossbody. From there it's all Chris Benoit who punishes O'Grady before taking him out with a diving headbutt off the top and gets the three count from Danny Davis. After the break we're taken backstage where we see "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin confronted by the former Eastern States Champion Sir William Regal who shakes his hand and wishes him luck in his match for the Title against "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone coming up next. Okerlund puts Regal over as a class act."Mean" Gene and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us back from the break before reminding us that next week's show will be coming to us live from The Spokane Arena in Spokane Washington! And as we heard earlier this evening in the Main Event the ECW Title will be on the line! While unfortunately tickets to this show are already sold out, those folks at home should be sure and tune in right here on Eastern Championships' home station; TNN The Nashville Network! They then hype the next match on the card which will see the Eastern States Championship on the line as "The Dark Desciple" Brimstone takes on "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin!Eastern States Title Match: Brimstone w/ Papa Shango vs. Ronnie Garvin The big man known as Brimstone has almost a foot height advantage over his challenger "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin, but when S.D. Jones calls for the bell starting the match, you wouldn't know it. Garvin goes right at Brimstone landing several punches before "The Dark Prophet" can recover to return fire. Garvin has Brimstone on the ropes early on; and after dodging the big man's signature springboard clothesline from the apron into the ring; Garvin locks him in the Sharpshooter! And the Eastern States Champion can't make it to the ropes! Instead he using his impressive strength to flip himself over sending Ronnie stumbles into the ropes! And as Ron regains his footing he nails him with a clothesline! And makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
"The Rugged One" kicks out! Brimstone proceeds to beat on him and throws Garvin about the ring for a bit until he traps Garvin in the corner and begins hammering on him! "Rugged" escapes however with a knockout punch! It only staggers Brimstone however and Ron goes up to the second rope and connects with a dropkick! Brimstone falls down to one knee and Garvin comes right at him! Brimstone however connects with an uppecut and getting to his feet he kicks Ron in the guy and nails him with a pump-handle powerbomb before making the cover! 1!... 2!...
Garvin kicks free! Brimstone doesn't seem to believe it, but keeps control for most of the remainder of the match, hammering on Ron as he does his best to rally back. Brimstone gets another two count following a bicycle kick. The end finally comes when Brimstone goes for the Chokeslam from Hell and.... it connects! He makes the cover and picks up the win! Brimstone gets his hand raised by S.D. Jones when Papa Shango enters the ring and begins putting the boots to the downed Garvin! But Brimstone stops him?! Nobody seems to know what's going on as "The Dark Prophet" helps his opponent to his feet. Ron looks confused too; when Brimstone scoops him up and hurls him out of the ring with a military press drop!
The fans begin booing as Brimstone gets on the mic and has a message for the former Eastern States Champ William Regal.
The false AEolides upheaving slow, O'er the eternal hill, the eternal stone; The crowned Lydian, in his parching woe, And green Callirrhoe's monster-headed son-
These shalt thou see, dim shadowed through the dark, Which makes the sky of Pluto's dreary shore; Lo! where thou stand'st, pale-gazing on the bark , That waits our rite to bear thee trembling o'er! Come, then! no more delay!-the phantom pines Amidst the Unburied for its latest home; O'er the grey sky the torch impatient shines- Come, mourner, forth!-the lost one bids thee come.Match: Aryan von Raschke vs. B. Brian Blair Aryan von Raschke gives "THE Killer Bee" B. Brian Blair a stiff challenge here as The Baron von Raschke barks orders at his son from ringside. Aryan however has the match well in hand and picks up the win from Danny Davis using the Sieg Heil! superkick.Match: Jacqueline Moore w/ Brian Lawler vs. Velvet McIntyre Velvet McIntyre gets a nearfall after hitting the Women's Champ Jacqueline Moore from behind while she is busy smooching Brian Christopher at ringside after her congratulated her on hitting a particularly powerful looking suplex on Velvet. McIntrye followed this with the schoolboy that nearly got her the three count. Jacqueline Moore just gets pissed by this however and rallies back. She dominates most of the remainder of the match before getting Velvet McIntyre to tap out to S.D. Jones utlizing a Guillotine Choke with bodyscissors. After the match she celebrates with her man. After the match we're taken to a promo where "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango theatrically tells us about The Dark Circle's recent woes; but that tonight is the start of a new dark horizon. That The Dark Circle shall rise and engulf this federation. That the Four Horsemen lie splintered and "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone cast Ronnie Garvin down upon the river Styx. And soon, very soon "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango shall reign once more as the Eastern Heavyweight Champion! Mwahaha!Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's huge Main Event. They discuss the rivalry between "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango dating back to Shango's quest to take the Title off Savage back at Hotter Than Hell in 1994 and culminating in Savage's recent attempt to win the ECW Title off of Papa Shango in a Triple Threat match at this years King of the Moutain event. "Ravishing" Rick Rude walked away with the Title that night but now Savage and Shango are both looking to regain the belt from "The Ravishing One." Both men are guaranteed a Title shot, but tonight's match will decide who will get their chance at Rude first. As an added stipulation, ECW President Eric Bischoff has warned that if any member of the Dark Circle tries to interfere in tonight's match; Shango will forfeit his Title shot!
The lights then go out as mist fills the arena and voodoo drums begin to play. In the darkness Papa Shango appears on the ramp with smoke billowing from his cauldron.
Gertner: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first ascending from the Bowels of Hell at 270 lbs. he is "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango!
Inside the ring Papa Shango annoys the booing fans with more of his voodoo shenanigans before referee Danny Davis checks him for foreign objects. "Pomp and Circumstance" hits!
Gertner: And now introducing his challenger this evening hailing from Sarasota, Florida weighing 237 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs; he is the "Macho Man" Randy Savage!Main Event: Randy Savage vs. Papa Shango "Macho Man" Randy Savage locks up with "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango as Davis starts the match. Neither man has the advantage early on as they slug it out with Randy getting the first cover of the night following a vertical suplex. Shango gets the next fall with a missile dropkick off the top and keeps control attempting to keep Randy down with several holds, knee drops; and elbow drops. While stuck in a headlock down on the floor however, Savage begins rallying back and the fans get behind him as he whips Shango into the ropes and takes him over the side with a clothesline! He then climbs out onto the apron and nails the double axe handle on the recovering "Soul Stealer!"
The two men battle around ringside with "Macho Man" in full control. He uses the steel barricade several times and Papa is in a bad way when Savage whips him into it and comes charging in with a running clothesline! But Shango grabs Debbie Combs and pulls her in the way! Desperate not to hit her, Randy leaps aside and crashes into the steel! Papa Shango with a handful of Combs' hair laughs evilly before throwing her down to the floor! He then grabs Savage by the head and rams it into the steel barricade! And with a second blow he busts his open! He then leaves the bloodied Savage to be tended to Combs while he rolls back into the ring at 8. Randy follows him in however and climbs up onto the apron where Papa Shango begins pounding on him! But Savage lets him have it with a massive headbutt! And as agile as a cat the "Macho Man" leaps up to the top rope and springboards off with a clothesline on "The Soul Stealer!" He makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Shango kicks free! Randy is right there to hand him a beating however and throws him down to the floor before putting the boots to him! Randy pulls Papa to his feet and hits a snap suplex for another two; but when he attempts to keep on Shango again Papa Shango gouges his eyes and locks him in a Clawhold! Randy is screaming in pain as he falls down to his knees. Shango has the hold locked in for a while, but "Macho" refuses to submit! He's shaking his head and looks to be rallying a comeback when Papa Shango sets him up for the Voodoo inverted shoulder breaker! And he hits it! 1!... 2!...
Savage kicks out! Papa Shango attacks him! But Randy isn't having it and fires back! He has Papa Shango on the ropes and is chasing him about the ring as "The Soul Stealer" looks for an escape! He doesn't find it however and Randy drops him with a short-arm clothesline! He then signals for the Savage Elbow and goes upstairs! Randy Savage goes airborne and the diving elbow connects! He hooks the leg! 1!... 2!... 3!
Randy Savage has defeated Papa Shango! He'll be facing Rick Rude next week at the Spokane Arena for the Title! Debbie Combs comes in to celebrate, but stops short as Randy Savage is grabbed from behind and...Hit with a Rude Awakening delayed hangman's neckbreaker! Savage is down and the ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude is in the ring! Papa Shango sees him and slithers out of the ring! But Rick Rude catches him and hits him with a Rude Awakening of his very own! He then gets on the mic and tells everyone to cut the noise. The Eastern Heavyweight Champ has something to say. He doesn't care who he has to face next week. or the week after. Whether it's the "Macho Man" Randy Savage at the Spokane Arena or Papa Shango at the gates of Hell itself. Only one thing matters. He; "Ravishing" Rick Rude is the ECW Champion. And nothing is going to change that.
Lights Fade.

3/27/95 - Spokane Arena Spokane, WA"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us all to another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling! They then briefly recap last week's show including Destruction Inc.'s DQ win over Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard due to interference by Ric Flair and Barry Windham, Brimstone defeating Ronnie Garvin to retain the Eastern States Championship; and "Macho Man" Randy Savage defeating "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango in the monstrous Main Event!
They then hype tonight's amazing card, as Eastern Championship celebrates it's first show in the Evergreen State! Tonight we'll see both Sir William Regal and Dean Malenko in action as well as two big Title Matches! First up the ECW Tag-Team Titles will be on the line when the Champs Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer defend the belts against The Nasty Boys! And in tonight's huge Main Event; after earning the right to face him last week; "Macho Man" Randy Savage will face the ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude for the Eastern Heavyweight Championship!Joel Gertner is about to announce the competitors in our first match of the night when...He's cut off by "White Train" by Tito & Tarantula! And out from the back swaggers ECW President Eric Bischoff! Eric tells us that as usual when "Easy E" is out in this ring, it can only mean one thing. Business is at hand! And he has some big business to start with, and that's to offically announce the broadcast team on Eastern Championship's newest program ECW Weekend Warriors! And without further adeiu he'd like to bring out that team; the first a man near and dear to the hearts of ECW fans; the one and only "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff!"Rock You Like a Hurricane" by The Scorpions hits and on the ramp appears Zumhoff with his boombox in hand! He boogies down to the ring as he slaps hands with the fans. Once inside Buck thanks Eric for another opportunity to entertain all these fans. He hopes that they'll all be ready to party with "The Original Rock 'N Roller" every Saturday starting April 6th! Just two weeks away baby! He'd then like to introduce his broadcast partner who's thankfully NOT Captain Lou Albano! Instead they've lined up the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time; The Honky Tonk Man!And out from the back comes the HTM! He's got his guitar and swaggers down to the ring strumming a few chords. Inside the ring Honky Tonk Man says he's worked for alot of companies these last couple of years and none of them could handle the most dynamic man in the sport today. He shook em, he rattled them til they couldn't take no more and now he's happy to be here in ECW; the very pinnacle of this sport today! Who does he know it? Well look in the very center of this ring! They landed the Honky Tonk Man didn't they! And he only works for the best. And that's just what Eric Bischoff what he gave him that call. Cause not only is Honky the best Intercontinental Champ of all time, he's also the best announcer too. Monsoon, Backlund, Hudson, "The Brain" ain't got nothing on him! So be prepared cause starting April 6th him and "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff are gonna, shake, rattle; and roll you baby!
Eric Bischoff thanks Honky Tonk Man for joining them. The ECW President then tells us he has another matter to discuss and that's the ECW Title picture! Now obviously tonight "Macho Man" Randy Savage will face ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude for the belt! But what we don't know yet is this; that the winner of Tonight's Main Event will go on to face "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango to defend that very same Title next week! And on the Eastern States Title front; on the inaugural broadcast of ECW Weekend Warriors; "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone will face Sir William Regal! With the Title on the line! So don't miss it! He then thanks the fans for their continued support of Eastern Championship Wrestling as it takes it's first...Tag-Team Match: Sex & Violence vs. Steve Corino & Jason Venom Referee S.D. Jones starts the match with Sexton Hardcastle and Steve Corino in the ring. Sex & Violence hold their own against the former Omega Horsemen. The end comes when Sexton and Joe E. Legend attempt to double-team "Mr. Wrestling" and Jason Venom comes in with a double clothesline on S&V to make the save. Venom tosses Legend outside and Steve Corino hits the inverted facelock neckbreaker slam on Sexton Hardcastle for the pinfall.Match: Tiffany vs. Rockin' Robin Tiffany and Rockin' Robin have a nice back and forth contest in this match officiated by Danny Davis. The luchadora squeaks out a victory when Robin goes for a missile dropkick and Tiffany runs to the corner, putting a stop to it; before rocking her opponent with an Iconoclam.
The announcers then recap what we've heard so far regarding the debut of ECW Weekend Warriors live on TNN Saturday Nights, including the just announced commentary team of "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff and The Honky Tonk Man! When they come back to the ring, The Junk Yard Dog has set up shop there and he's on the mic calling out "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch! JYD says he ain't no fool and he certainly hasn't lost his mind as that good ol' boy Captain suggests. And The Dog certainly ain't nobody's "boy!" However he's had a long history with Dick and would rather settle things peacefully. So if he'll have that, Junkyard Dog would like Murdoch to come out here and apologize!Dick Murdoch then comes out and climbs into the ring. He takes the microphone from Junkyard Dog and tells him perhaps he's right. Perhaps he should apologize. They do have a history together. And some might consider them to be friends. So in light of that...
"Captain Redneck" brains JYD with the microphone! JYD hits the ropes and Murdoch lays into him with the microphone still in his hand! He then whips Junkyard across the ring and with some effort nails him with a Thump! front powerslam! He then gets back on the mic and laughs, saying maybe he wasn't carrying all of Junkyard's weight after all. Not like he's been driving around in a crane these past two years. He then tosses the microphone and heads out of the ring while an angry JYD gets up to his feet and glares at the retreating Murdoch.Match: William Regal vs. Matt Hardy Young Matt Hardy gets in some offense early on as the former Eastern States Champion William Regal works him over and stretches him out until he locks in the Regal Stretch arm-trap cross-legged STF which has Hardy tapping out to S.D. Jones.
After winning the match by submission, Regal gets his hand raised in victory. But as he turns to exit the ring he's standing face to face with..."The Dark Prophet" Brimstone! Who nails Regal with a Chokeslam from Hell! He then takes the mic and recites;
Wise sir, do not grieve. It is always better to avenge dear ones than to indulge in mourning. For every one of us, living in this world means waiting for our end. Let whoever can win glory before death. When a warrior is gone, that will be his best and only bulwark.
Lanny wants to know what the hell that's supposed to mean. Okerlund doesn't see why he should know; he's "The Genius.""Mean" Gene and Lanny welcome us back before reminding us that next week's show will be coming to us live from the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington where the winner of tonight's Main Event will defend the ECW Title against "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango! They inform us that while tickets for this huge show are sold out, those folks at home can tune in right here on Eastern Championship's home station of TNN The Nashville Network to catch all the action live!Tag-Team Title Match: Dustin Rhodes & Tommy Dreamer vs. The Nasty Boys Tommy Dreamer who's still wearing a neckbrace starts things off with Jerry Sags while the announcers point out that this match is being fought under Hardcore Rules which no disqualifications. Lanny can't see that being a problem for either of these teams. Dreamer gets an early drop on Sags as the two men brawl about the ring, with "The Innovator of Violence" capturing Jerry in the corner. Dreamer climbs up on the second rope and starts raining down the punches! 1!2!3! Sags with a low blow! Tommy falls back into the ring and grabbing him by the head, Jerry begins repeatedly bashing Dreamer's head into the turnbuckle before tossing him outside! Sags gets out on the apron and leaps off looking for a legdrop; but ends up with an ass full of cement as Dreamer rolls free! Tommy then reaches under the ring and pulls out a Singapore Cane! And he cracks it over Jerry's head! He begins beating on Sags with it until Brian Knobs comes in and makes the save with a steel chair! Dreamer hits the floor on all fours and Brian cracks him over the back with the chair before putting the boots to him! Jerry is soon up and the two men begin working Dreamer over when under the bottom rope comes "The American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes with a baseball slide to the back of Sags! On the outside he then begins unloading on Knobs! Then on Sags! Then on Knobs again! It takes a while for the Nasty Boys to recuperate, but when they do they lay him out with a Double DDT! Sags then picks up Dreamer and rolls him back inside where he sets him up for the pumphandle slam! But Dreamer blocks it and counters with a small package! 1!... 2!
Sags kicks free! Dreamer now has control and ends up getting another two count with a DDT before tagging in Dustin Rhodes. Jerry is in trouble as "The American Nightmare" sets him up in the corner and running at him kicks him in the crotch! Okerlund says that Rhodes probably just shattered the dreams of Knob's mother having children. Lanny figured good taste would've done that. Dustin Rhodes pounds on Sags for a bit, hitting him with a sidewalk slam; and a running bulldog as he can. And with Sags reeling, Dustin locks in a sleeper hold! Brian Knobbs however isn't having it and breaks it up with a hard right to the back of Rhodes' head! Soon all four men are in the ring brawling about and after Danny Davis restores some order, Brian Knobs gets the tag! Brian Knobs is in full control from the get-go and works Dustin Rhodes over a bit before nailing him with a piledriver and running the ropes, charges in with a running legdrop! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Dustin just kicks out! Knobs is pissed and yells to Sags that it's time to get Nasty! He whips Rhodes hard into their corner where Jerry Sags holds him steady for Brian who comes in to dish out some Nasty Clubberin'! He then tags in Jerry who gives him some more! He then whips Rhodes across the ring and connects with a clothesline for a two count. When he attempts to keep on top of Dustin however, "The American Nightmare" comes back swinging! He begins hammering on Jerry and whips him into the ropes before pulling out his flask; which he takes a quick swig from before busting Sags in the head with it on the return! He then tags in Tommy Dreamer who sets his opponent up for a fireman's carry powerslam! And it connects! He hooks the leg! 1!... 2!...
Sags kicks out! Jerry hits Tommy with an uppercut and attempts to make the tag to Brian Knobs, but a scrambling Dreamer manages to grab his foot. He pulls Sags back, but gets caught with another hard right and with Dreamer on his knees, Jerry begins pounding his head in! Before giving Tommy a breather with a Pit Stop and then pounds him some more! He hangs Dreamer up in the corner and Brian Knobs hands Jerry a steel chair! And he swings at Dreamer! But Tommy kicks it back into his face however! And climbing up onto the second rope he drops Sags with a diving clothesline! "The Innovator of Violence" then pulls Jerry up for a DDT on the steel chair! But Jerry counters with a spinebuster and the pin!
He comes up short however and Dreamer just barely kicks out! The Nasty Boys were just nearly the new Tag-Team Champions! Brian Knobs is back in the ring however and he now has a trash can! Dustin Rhodes comes in to make the save, but he gets attacked from behind by Sags! Brian then puts a sizeable dent in the can with Dustin's head! Together the Nasty's hurl Dustin over the top rope, leaving the trashcan in the middle of the ring. Returning to Dreamer, it's obvious he's about to take a Trip to Nastyville! Hoisting the dazed Tag Champ into the air, Brian Knobs hits a running powerslam onto the trashcan! Jerry Sags then goes up top and dives off for the flying elbow! But he hits nothing but steel because Tommy Dreamer has somehow moved out of the way!! And he makes the cover on Sags! Meanwhile a surprised Brian Knobs is spunk about and planted with a DDT on the steel chair by Dustin Rhodes! And Tommy Dreamer gets the win! Rhodes and Dreamer have retained the ECW Tag-Team Titles! They share a drink from Rhodes' flask after a hard fought victory.Their celebration is cut short however when "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit storms the ring with a steel chair! He lets the Tag-Team Champs have it! And with a second swing on Dustin Rhodes, dumps him out of the ring!
