01/02/95 - The Patriot Center Fairfax, VA"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia for the first exciting episode of Eastern Championship Wrestling of the New Year! They then briefly recap last week's show including Rick Rude's promis to take the ECW Title back from ECW Champ "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango, the Four Horsemen's brutal attack on the Tag-Team Champs Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer; and close with Shango's controversial defeat of Eastern States Champion Sir William Regal. This of course leads to how both Hulk Hogan and "Macho Man" Randy Savage came to Regal's aide only to be beaten down themselves at the hands of Shango's villainous Dark Circle.
They then hype tonight's huge show which will see the Women's Title on the line as Luna Vachon gets her rematch against ECW Women's Champ "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore who defeated her for the Title back on December 1st at Wrestle Annual. Also on the card ECW Light Heavyweight Champion Cousin Jamie will be in non-Title action, "Mean" Dean Malenko will make his debut here at Eastern Championship and in the huge Main Event "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair will do battle with his old-time rival "Rugged" Ron Garvin!Tag-Team Match: The Hardy Boyz vs. Sex & Violence In the opening bout of the New Year, the Hardy Boyz make their first appearance on ECW tv since their loss to the Four Horsemen back at Wrestle Annual. Corino & Venom are nowhere in sight however as Jeff Hardy starts things off with Sexton Hardcastle. The two men have a good back and forth battle going, with Hardy hitting an inpressive sprinboard moonsault on a standing Hardcastle and Sexton nearly getting the upset win when he caves in Jeff's face with a huge missile dropkick. When Sexton Hardcastle goes for the Spear however, Hardy pulls himself up onto the top turnbuckle out of harm's way, allowing Sexton to slam shoulder first into the steel and launching off the top Hardy connects with a sunset flip that gets him a long two count. From there he tags in his brother Matt Hardy as Hardcastle attempts to make it to his corner. The Hardy Boyz have other plans however, cutting him off and keeping one another fresh with quick tags.
Eventually however Hardcastle freaks Matt Hardy out by sexing him up a little and manages to escape after hitting him with a side Russian legsweep! He makes the hot tag to his partner Joe E. Legend who keeps on top of Matt with several stomps. He controls the match for a bit, hitting Matt with a bulldog, a roaring elbow; and attempts to make him tap with a bear hug that just isn't appropriate for tv. Lanny says this match needs a blur bar. Eventually however Matt escapes and fighting his way back hits him with a dropkick before tagging Jeff Hardy back in; who follows it up with a running senton. Though Legend gets several shots in from here, the remainder of the match mostly belongs to Jeff Hardy who finishes Joe E. Legend off with his signature Swanton high-angle senton Bomb; hooking his leg while Danny Davis makes the count.Back from break ECW Champion Papa Shango is with Destruction Inc. and the Circus of Doom who're gathered around a pint-sized coffin. They're all in funeral garb and Luna is dabbing her eyes before obnoxiously blowing her nose. Shango begins to speak of the loss of their poor wee brother, little Dink. And how he's most certainly in a better place. Called back home to the gates of Hell, where he sure to roast upon the lake of fire for all eternity! This last bit seems to stun the Dark Circle. He goes on to say that this however is not a time for sadness, but for rejoicing! Because he has been in contact with the Dark Lord and he has sent word. Word that he shall send among them a new desciple; that a dark messenger will arrrive here next week!Match: Doug Williams vs. Aryan von Raschke "The U.K. Kidd" Doug Williams gives Aryan von Raschke a tough fight in this match officiated by S.D. Jones. The Kidd makes multiple pins attempts, notably after hitting a Bombs Away diving knee drop, a standing dropkick; and the Chaos Theory waist-lock backward roll transitioned into a bridged German Suplex. Aryan gives as good as he gets while his manager/father the Baron Von Raschke cheers him on; reliating with a sitout scoop powerslam, a reverse DDT; and finally a jumping piledriver that gets him the three count. After the break "Mean" Gene and Lanny talk about the debut of "Mean" Dean Malenko here at ECW and his recent runs at WCW as well as Wing in Japan. Okerlund says that he was asked to play the following video by Malenko himself.Dean Malenko tribute (first ever on youtube)Match: Dean Malenko vs. Steve Blackman Danny Davis starts the match and Steve Blackman keeps Dean Malenko off balance early on with a series of kicks. Malenko seems to be sizing his opponent up a bit and after receiving a glancing elbow to the face gets scooped up by "The Silent Assassin" who runs the ropes looking for a clothesline! But "Mean" Dean ducks it and counter with one of his own! Picking Steve up Dean hammers his opponent across the ring and whips him hard into the opposing corner. He runs in, but catches a boot from Blackman! Grabbing him, Steve goes for a suplex; but Malenko wraps his legs about him, falls forward and rolls him up! 1!... 2!..
Blackman kicks out! Pulling him back up to his feet Malenko whips Steve into the ropes and charging after him sends "The Assassin" out the the floor with a running elbow smash. He then runs the ropes and launches himself out of the ring with a tope dive onto Blackman! Up first Dean rolls Blackman back into the ring and heads up top from the outside. Steve however is back up to and meeting Dean in the corner begins hammering and chopping on him; but getting into a standing position Malenko flips off the top and lands on his feet! Grabbing a stunned Blackman, he whips Steve; but "The Silent Assassin" reverses sending Malenko into the corner! Grabbing Dean from behind Steve goes for a suplex! But Dean blocks it! And goes for one of his own! But Blackman blocks it! He swings about blindly, but Dean ducks it and pushing Steve into the corner hits a bridged Fisherman's Suplex! He's going to put his opponent away with his own move!
But there's no count?! Breaking the hold, Dean Malenko looks for the problem and sees Blackman's manager Captain Lou Albano arguing with Davis! He heads over and argues with "The Captain" threatening to punch his lights out! Albano drops off the apron clearly not wanting a fight; and when Malenko turns about he eats a roundhouse kick from Blackman! 1!...2!...
Malenko kicks out! Steve helps him to his feet, but Dean slaps him away! Malenko looks pissed as he no-sells several chopes from "The Assassin." Blackman instead goes back to kicks, but Malenko begins blocking them and pushing Steve away connects with a kick of his own to Blackman's chest! He then runs the ropes and takes Steve down to the mat with a drop toe hold! Getting to his feet Dean stomps Blackman for a bit as "The Silent Assassin" fights his way up to one knee where he's met by several punches and chops from his opponent. Then grabbing Steve Blackman's head, Dean Malenko hoists him into the air and hits him hard with a powerbomb which he transitions into a pin to pick up the win. After the match we're taken to ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels who's in front of the ECW banner with the Four Horsemen where Ric Flair is yucking it up about those two idiot Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer. He calls the duo a pair of nobodies. Nothing but jokes who last week he, he means we of course; beat at their own damn game. Hardcore? Ric Flair invented it baby! Just look ask that Dreamer punk how the "Naitch" went hardcore all over his ass last week! And if he's lucky that's where it'll end. Cause if he wants it, all "The Nature Boy" has to do his snap his fingers and those Tag-Team Titles will be taken away too! And he'll take 'em not because he needs 'em. Oh no baby. Ric Flair has held more gold than your momma's got teeth. No, Ric Flair will take them for one reason and one reason alone. Cause he can! Wooooo!"Mean" Gene and Lanny welcome us back from the break before remind us that next week's show will be coming to us live from Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky and that while tickets for that week's show are long since sold out; those folks at home should tune in right here on Eastern Championship's home station of TNN The Nashville Network to catch all the action live!Women's Title Match: Jacqueline Moore vs. Luna Vachon After "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore poses with the Women's Championship which she hands over to referee S.D. Jones, weird Circus music begins to play at the lights go out and a weird spotlight scans about the arena; settling on "Mad Dog" Luna Vachon who's appeared on the ramp. She has Matt Borne and Pogo the Clown with her. Inside the ring Luna strides right over to Jacqueline and pushes her down into the corner! She begins stomping the hell out of the Women's Champ as Jones begins the match! She pulls her to her feet after receiving a warning to the match, but Jackie smacks her away and begins firing back! Vachon trades punches with her for a bit, but when "Mad Dog" goes for a short-arm clothesline; Moore ducks it and counters with a spinning wheel kick! She makes the cover but only comes away with a two. She then hoists the challenger up to her feet, but receives an eye rake which Luna follows up with a front powerslam! She screams at the audience before jumping and hitting a leg drop! She floats over with the cover looking to make Moore's Title run a short one! 1!... 2!...
"Miss Texas" kicks out! As Jacqueline attempts to get to her feet however, Luna treats her to a snap suplex that puts her in the corner where Vachon looks for the Luna Bomb corner sprinboard splash; but only finds a mouth full of canvas as Moore rolls free! Back up to her feet Jacqueline hits several punches and kicks on the challenger before whipping Vachon into the ropes where she connects with a flapjack! Luna stumbles up and Moore runs the ropes, taking her down to the mat once more with a clothesline. She does it again, but this time Vachon trips her and kicking her in the gut goes for a Fisherman's Buster! But Jacqueline blocks it and hits a swinging neckbreaker! 1!... 2!...
3! Luna has been pinned! Jones gets the belt from Gertner and hands it to the Women's Champ who raises it in victory! On the outside Matt Borne looks pissed and is up to no good issuing instructions to the monstrous Pogo the Clown; but S.D. Jones sees it and advises "Miss Texas" to leave the ring. Heading up the ramp, Moore holds the belt in victory as she makes her exit; leaving a pissed Circus of Doom in her wake. After the break we're taken to the dressing room of "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan who's on the phone. There's a knock on the door and he aplogizes before hanging up. He answers the door to find himself face to face with..."Macho Man" Randy Savage?! Hogan seems leery to see Randy and asks him what he wants. Savage however assures him he isn't looking for trouble. He says that last week, the Dark Circle; well it felt like old times. Dig. And Shango and his gang are a mega problem. Major thorn here in ECW. And mega problems brother? Well big problems need mega solutions. So what the "Macho Man" Randy Savage is thinking. What he's thinking is this. "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan. The "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Randy Savage. Hulk Hogan. Mega Powers re-united. Brought together to take down "The Soul Stealer." To put to bed the Dark Circle for the 1! 2! 3! Can you dig it?!!
Hogan seems to think it over before taking Savage's hand. He says he can Dig It brother. Savage then is about to say something else, but Hogan stops him and says to let him say it. He then lets out an "Ooooh Yeah!" The ECW Tag-Team Champions Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes are in front of the ECW Banner talking to ECW correspondent Terri Runnels about their loss last week to the Bayou Boys. Both men look a bit beat up, but they don't want to talk about the Boys. They say that Gilbert and Jamie; the so-called Double Lightweight Champs got lucky. One because Dreamer isn't in their weight class and two because of the "help" they got from the Four Horsemen. They say while they have alot of respect for what all four of them have accomplished in the ring over the years, that the "Nature Boy" has clearly gone off his rocker. Beating Dreamer with a singapore cane? Saying he was hardcore before there was hardcore? Well that might well be true; but Flair had better be ready to put his money where that big fat mouth of his is; cause next week they're going to get some revenge on the Horsemen when they face off against him and Barry Windham in a hardcore match!Match: Rhino w/ Mongo vs. Tully Blanchard From the bell Rhino gives the veteran Tully Blanchard a tough match, making pin attempts after hitting him with a flapjack, a falling scoop powerslam; and a side belly to back suplex while his tag-team partner Mongo Vyle provides the occasional interference. Tully meanwhile works over his much stronger oppenent, focusing his attacks on Rhino's left arm and shoulder in an attempt to get him to submit. He gets a two count following a dropkick and may have had the match won when he caught "The Man-Beast" with a slingshot suplex; but Mongo hopped up on the apron and made the save by grabbing Rhino's legs as he hit the ropes. This pissed Blanchard off, but it gave Rhino the time he needed to recover. While the two men continued to battle inside the ring Tully's own partner "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson appeared on the ramp and shot a look of warning at Vyle.Regaining control of the match Tully Blanchard managed to lock Rhino into the figure-four leglock! "The Man-Beast" screamed in pain as he inched his way to the ropes. Blanchard attempted to pull him back, but Rhino's superior strength prevailed and he made it to the bottom ropes, breaking the hold. A bit frustrated now, Tully starts putting the boots to Rhino before heading up top! He might've been going for a diving knee drop of a flying crossbody; but we'll never know as Rhino sprung up to his feet, scurried up the turnbuckle; and scooping Tully Blandchard up hit him hard with a superplex! Hooking the leg he gets the three from Danny Davis.
Almost the second the pin is made however Mongo Vyle storms the ring and looking toward Anderson who's on his way to the ring starts putting the boots to Blanchard! Rhino joins in and the two men are stomping a mudhole into the unfortunate Horsemen as Arn Anderson hits the ring swinging! Fired up, he brings the fight to both Rhino and Vyle for a bit before the numbers game starts to catch up with him. But just as it does Tully is back up and joining in the fray! The Horsemen and Destruction Inc. are brawling about the ring when out from the back come the Circus of Doom led by Papa Shango!Arn and Tully see the quartet on the way and bail from the ring, making their exit through the crowd as The Dark Circle take over the ring! As they back through the crowd the Horsemen argue with Shango and his cronies while ECW goes to...Match: Cousin Jamie vs. Spike Hughes The "Double" Light Heavyweight Champs Cousin Jamie and "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert have their little hoedown in the ring before S.D. Jone starts this non-Title match. Spike Hughes is out there giving it his best and hits his corner springboard cutter on Cousin Jamie for a two count. There're multiple pin attempts by both sides; but the end only comes when while little Spike is in control of the match, Doug reaches into the ring and trips him up; sending him stumbling into the arms of Cousin Jamie who hits him with a DDT to pick up the win.Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's huge Main Event which will see "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair face off against a man who once defeated him for the NWA Heavyweight Championship; "The Man with the Hands of Stone" Ron Garvin! They talk about the duo's history together in NWA and WCW while Gertner makes the intros.
Gertner: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Montreal, Quebec, Canada weighing 231 lbs.; he is "Rugged" Ron Garvin!
Garvin heads down to the ring all business before shaking hands with referee Danny Davis. Just then Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss hits and out from the back emerges...
Gertner: And introducing his challenger this evening from Charlotte, North Carolina weighing in at 243 lbs.; he is "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair!
Flair comes down to the ring and makes a face at Garvin as he struts about the ring. Garvin doesn't seem to take to kindly to it.Main Event: Ric Flair vs. Ron Garvin Because he lets the stunned "Naitch" have it with a hard right hand! As Ric Flair reels from the blow, Ronnie Garvin grabs him and forces him into the corner where he pounds on him a bit before Davis breaks it up. Flair looks a bit annoyed by the sneak attack and the two men feel one another out a bit before locking it up. They grapple around the ring for a bit trading several holds and reversals before Flair pushes out of a headbutt and sends Garvin into the ropes! On the return however "Rugged" takes Ric down to the mat with a huge shoulder block! Garvin runs the ropes, but Flair falls under him before leapfrogging him on his second crossing of the ring. Coming back however, Flair catches Garvin looking to pull him over with a hiptoss, but Garvin reverses! And so does Flair! But then Ronnie does it again and this time Flair goes up and over crashing to the mat! Garvin has the chance to pounce, but he beckons Flair to get up!
Ric Flair doesn't seem to like this show of sportsmanship however and charging Garvin the two men lock up again. They trade several more holds before Ric gets the upperhand and tosses Garvin down to the floor where he lets out a Wooo! before hitting a fist drop on his opponent. He gets back up and pulling Ronnie up to a seated position lets him have it with several punches before hitting a very delayed vertical suplex and makes the cover. 1!.. 2 Garvin kicks out! And he's right back up on his feet! But only finds a chop to the face from Flair! And another! Garvin has had his full however and the two men begin trading punches and chops in the middle of the ring with Garvin driving Ric back into the corner and whips him across. Charginng in he goes for a running elbow, but at the last second Flair gets his foot up! And hopping up onto the top turnbuckle he grabs Garvin's head before planting him with a Tornado DDT! He makes the cover! 1!... 2
Garvin kicks free! The "Naitch" is looking to keep on top of Ronnie with several stomps, but Garvin manages to gets up to one knee where Ric traps him in a headlock. Freeing himself, Garvin finds himself exchanging several holds before regaining control of the match with a side headlock! Looking to wiggle free Flair forces Garvin into the ropes, but ducks too soon for the back body drop and receives a dropkick to the top of the head for his trouble! Flair is right back up on both knees, pleading Ron off; but Garvin isn't feeling charitable and leaps on top of "The Nature Boy" hammering his face in a bit before getting to his feet and signalling for the Garvin Stomp! And he connects , stomping Flair about the ring for a good bit before running the ropes and connecting with a knee drop before making the cover! 1!... 2!
Flair kicks out! Garvin looks to lift him to his feet, but Ric distacts the ref and connects with a low blow on "The Rugged One!" Garvin falls to his knees and Ric Flair is up on his feet strutting about the ring. Wooo! He chops Garvin! Wooo! Another chop! He chops the hell out of Garvin before pulling him to his feet and whipping him across the ring! On the return he hits Ronnie with a big back body drop! With Garvin down, Flair stomps his legs before grabbing them and locking in the Figure four! Ron is going nuts in the hold and reaches for the ropes! In vain! Because the ropes are too far away! Flair is really putting on the pressure, but Garvin is fighting it and with a final burst of power flips Flair over!
Garvin has reversed the figure four! And now it's Flair's turn to scream! He claws for the ropes, but they're out of his reach! It looks like Flair's going to tap! But he hangs in there and clawing his way to the ropes gets the break! Ric is pulling himself up with the ropes as Garvin stumbles over to him and begins clubbing "Nature Boy!" He's battering the hell out of Flair when Ric grabs him by the head and pokes him in the eyes! He shrugs to the ref who isn't sure what just happened and grabbing Ron by the head begins hammering it in! He throws Ron back against the ropes, but when he goes for the whip he gets a kick to the gut for his troubles; and spinning his opponent about Garvin hits a gutwrench suplex! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!
Ric Flair kicks out! Ronnie Garvin stays down this time and both men look tired. Finally Garvin is up first on one knee and looking at his opponent. Flair is getting up now too, but he gets a big assist from Garvin who yanks him up by his hair and throws Ric into the corner. Following "Naitch" in, Garvin climbs up to the second rope and begins letting Flair have it! 1! 2! 3! 4! 5! Flair's grabbed Garvin?! And it looks like he might be biting him!!! Ric stops it before the Davis can get a good view of what's going on however and throws Ronnie down to the canvas before heading up top! Perched on the top turnbuckle Ric Flair waits for Ronnie Garvin to get up to his feet and then drops him with a diving knee drop! He hooks the leg! 1!... 2!...
3! Ric Flair has done it! He parades about the ring! Woooo!
Lights Fade.

1/9/95 - Freedom Hall, Louisville, KY"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to Freedom Hall in Louisville Kentucky for another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling! They then briefly recap last week's show including "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair defeating long-time rival Ronnie Garvin, "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan forming an alliance with "Macho Man" Randy Savage against The Dark Circle; and the Tag-Team Champs Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer challenging the Four Horsemen to a Hardcore Match following the brutal beating the Tag Champs received at the hands of the stable. A match that will take place right here tonight!
Also on tonight's huge card, the Eastern States Champion William Regal will be in action and in a huge Main Event Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage will face off against Dark Circle members Mongo Vyle and Rhino; known collectively as Destruction Inc.! Okerlund feels like he's forgetting something, and Lanny says he'd probably like to forget it; but tonight we're also set to learn the meaning of ECW Champion "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango's cryptic words that "a Dark messenger is coming." Because tonight...Lanny never finishes his sentence because just then as if on cue voodoo drums begin to beat as the lights go out and mist fills the arena. On the ramp strobes hit as "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango who's holding the Eastern Heavyweight Championship makes a sweeping gesture across the crowd. He is with the entirety of The Dark Circle as he heads down to the ramp and they take over the ring. Shango orders Matt Borne to retrieve the microphone.
Shango addresses the fans telling us how we've all witnessed darkness fall since he defeated "The Ravishing One" for the Title back at Wrestle Annual. How since then he and The Dark Circle have paved a path of destruction over the backs of many here at ECW. And how that is only the beginning. Because before his day is done no one in this company shall be left untouched by the hand of "The Soul Stealer," that nothing will be left unchanged as The Dark Circle encloses about us. Just two weeks past he carved yet another victory in the name of The Dark Lord. Etched another glorious scar on the souls in attendance as he decimated the Eastern States Champion Sir William Regal. And to that end he earned a shot at that Title. However he will not be claiming that prize, for being the ECW Champion is enough of a boon to his immense power. No. The shot against Regal instead shall be given like a gift to one of his minions. He gazes at Matt Borne, then at Rhino; and Mongo Vyle. He tells us that he has conferred with The Dark Lord and their choice is for the indestructible, the undfeated Pogo the Clown to claim the Eastern States Championship on their behalf! Pogo lets out a sinister chuckle, but Borne looks pissed. A sharp look from Shango keeps him in check however.
Papa Shango then reminds us of he and the Dark Lord's promise. That tonight he will send unto us a messenger, a brother in their cause to take over Eastern Championship Wrestling once and for all. And the arrival of that darkest of desciples is now at hand!Flame pyrotechnics go off as organ music begins to play and th arena goes dark. On the stage appears a sinister looking figure in a trenchcoat and hat. He heads down to the ring slowly as The Dark Circle waits kneeling except for the ECW Champion. Entering the ring the mysterious figure stands face to Shango who utters an incantation in greeting before kneeling before "The Soul Stealer." Papa Shango orders everyone to rise before telling us that this is just the beginning. For before The Dark Circle is complete we shall all be enfolded in its embrace! He cackles maniacally as ECW goes to it's first...Match: Steve Blackman vs. Dick Murdoch Junkyard Dog comes down to ringside with his tag-team partner Dick Murdoch and serves as an equalizer when Steve Blackman's loudmouthed manager Captain Lou Albano gets out of hand, at one point cracking Albano in the face with a hard right that knocks him to the floor. Inside the ring "Captain Redneck" gives Blackman one hell of a fight, getting two counts following a bulldog and a Calf Branding off the top. "The Silent Assassin" proves to be too much for Dick Murdoch however and after several pin attempts; Steve Blackman picks up the three count from referee S.D. Jones after hitting his opponent with a bridged Fisherman's suplex. ECW Correspondent Terri Runels is in front of the ECW banner with the "Double" Lightweight Champs Cousin Jamie and Doug Gilbert. "The Redneck Rebel" is putting them both over as the most dominant Light Heavyweights in this company's history and how whether a challenger is in the ring with Cousin Jamie or Doug Gilbert; the end result is bound to be the same; you're going to go down for the 1, 2,3! Right Jamie? Jamie says that's damned right. 1, 2,...er... Gilbert smacks him upside his head. "4!" spits out Jamie. Doug just shakes his head.Match: B. Brian Blair vs. Matt Borne "THE Killer Bee" B. Brian Blair makes an appearance in this match officiated by Danny Davis. "The Ring Master" Matt Borne is looking more than a little pissed as he heads to the ring with Luna Vachon and Pogo the Clown. Blair gets in some offense early, but Borne takes control of the match with a rake to the eyes and pulls some hair too before beating on poor Brian Blair for a while before hitting the running powerbomb onto the corner turnbuckle and picking up the win.Match: William Regal vs. Christian Cage The Eastern States Champion William Regal still looks a little beat up from his match two weeks ago, which is good for young Christian Cage who gets in some nice offense before William Regal takes over the match, working Christian over before locking in the Regal Stretch arm trap cross-legged STF for the win. He keeps Cage in the hold a bit too long after picking up the win and S.D. Jones has to break it up.Back fromt he break "Mean" Gene and Lanny remind us that next week's show will be coming to us live from The Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Indiana and while some tickets are still available; those folks not in the area should tune in right here as usual on Eastern Championship's home station of TNN The Nashville Network to catch all the amazing ECW action live!Hardcore Tag-Team Match: Ric Flair & Barry Windham vs. Tommy Dreamer & Dustin Rhodes Ric Flair struts about and Woos for a bit while arguing with the Tag-Team Champions before the match starts. Danny Davis starts the match and Flair jawjacks Dustin Rhodes a bit who leers at him before throwing a hard right out of nowhere and the match is under way. Okerlund and Lanny talks about how well Flair and Rhodes know one another having tagged together numerous times in WCW while Dustin dominates the match early on. Rhodes has Flair down on his knees begging him off and the Tag Champ makes a mistake turning away from "Naitch" to mock him for the crowd. Ric connects with a lowblow! Davis sees it and Flair goes wide-eyed and shakes his head claiming he didn't do anything. But the ref doesn't seem to care and we can see it dawn on Flair's face what Hardcore rules really means. He gets to his feet, looks to be locking in the figure four; but stomps Rhodes in the nuts instead! Flair is smiling now and gives the booing fans a little strut about the ring.
Heading over to his corner Flair makes the tag in to Barry Windham! Wait, no he doesn't. He's just pulled his hand away! But he invites Windham into the ring anyway and the two men begin stomping the hell out of Dustin! Okerlund says that Flair clearly seems to be in his element in this no DQ situation. Too bad for them however so is Tommy Dreamer. Because he runs in and clubs Windham across the back with a steel chair! As Barry goes down, Ric turns stunned and gets cracked in the head with the steel chair! "The Innovator of Violence" isn't letting up and lets Flair have it again after he hits the floor. Tossing the chair aside he helps Dustin Rhodes to his feet. He isn't there long because in rushes Windham with a double clothesline! Both men hit the ground hard, but it's Tommy that Barry is after and as Dreamer crawls back to his feet he hammers him into the corner. While Barry is busy brawling with Dreamer, Ric Flair is back up and after catching his breath waits for Rhodes to get up to one knee before letting him have it with a Flair chop! He begins working Dustin over for a bit, but soon Rhodes regains his footing and all four men are brawling about the ring!
The fighting inside rages on until Dustin Rhodes hits a clothesline on Flair that sends both him and "The Nature Boy" up and over the top rope to the floor below. They continue fighting on the outside with Dustin busting Flair open on the guardrail! Inside the ring Barry is in full control, making several pin attempts on Dreamer as he hits a scoop slam, a flapjack, a backdrop suplex; and even a superplex off the top on "The Innovator." Frustratingly to Barry however, Dreamer just keeps on kicking out! "The Genius" says Tommy has always been an idiot and should just stay down. Outside the momentum has shifted to the Horsemen's favor as well after Flair clocked Dustin with the time keeper's bell! Flair has Rhodes on the run with several knife-edge chops and drops Dustin to the floor with a hard whip into the steel guard rail! Rhodes is in a seated position when Flair reaches into his shirt and pulls out Dustin's flask, which he takes a swig of before spitting it in Rhodes' face! He then bashes it over Rhodes' head! Woooo!
Flair leaves the now bloodied Dustin inside the ring and heads back inside where Dreamer has gotten the drop on Windham whom he's just hammered across the ring followed by a whip! Before he can go any further however, Ric spins Dreamer about and chops him! Barry returns and the two men spike piledrive Tommy into the mat! Ric is now directing traffic, sending Barry Windham to collect Dustin Rhodes on the outside. As he walks Dustin toward the ring however, Rhodes comes alive and hits him with a side Russian legsweep that sends Barry face first into the ring apron! Rhodes reaches under the ring and comes up pissed. He's got the singapore cane! He's looking threateningly as Ric Flair who is shaking his head as he backs away in the ring and gets schoolboyed by Dreamer! 1!... 2!...
3! Dreamer has pinned Flair! Ric is livid as he realizes what's just happened! He doesn't get to be angry long however because Dustin is in the ring with the singapore cane! Before Ric has time to scramble away however, Dreamer catches him from behind in a headlock! Dreamer and Rhodes are loving it and Dustin gets his flask out. The two men exchange a drink before Rhodes offers some to Flair, before chucking some in his face! He then pulls back with the singapore cane! Flair is flailing and screaming he's gonna kill Rhodes!
Just then however Barry Windham charges across the ring and lets Dustin have it with a huge dropkick! Rhodes crashes into Flair and Dreamer, releasing "Naitch" in the process! By this time Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard have made it from ringside and join in beating down the Tag-Team Champs! Ric Flair is out for blood now however and has the steel chair! He is delighting in battering both men with it and Wooos! it up for the crowd! He then sets Tommy Dreamer's leg in the steel chair and is going to lock in the figure four! He's going to break Dreamer's legs! Okerlund says this is disgusting, that something like this could ruin a man's career. Apparently Arn Anderson isn't thrilled with the idea either, because as Ric goes to set it up; Arn grabs him by the shoulder and stops him! Ric Flair is redder than ever! He looks pissed as Tully comes to Arn's side and the Horsemen seem to have a heated discussion. Finally Ric Flair seems to relent and walks off with Windham in tow, leaving Arn and Tully in the ring talking as ECW goes to...COMMERCIAL BREAK Back from the break we see Beulah McGillicutty walking down the hallway looking determined. She passes ECW Women's Champ Jacqueline Moore in the hallway and stops to have a word with her. She congratulates her on her victory of Luna Vachon last week, but tells her that makes her still the Women's Champ; she wants the next shot a the belt. Jackie smiles smugly and tells her she's on.Match: Beulah McGillicutty vs. Debbie Combs There's a tough back and forth contest between these two women who have alot of bad history with one another. They mostly brawl back and forth, until Beulah McGillicutty reverses a swinging neckbreaker and hits a bulldog on Debbie Combs whom she finishes off with the Beulahsault for the three count from S.D. Jones.Match: Aryan von Raschke vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri The action at ringside from Mr. Fuji and The Baron von Raschke at ringside is almost as heated as that in the ring as Aryan von Raschke and Yoshihiro Tajiri battle back and forth in this fast paced, often high flying contest. Aryan connects with a corner sitout powerbomb for two, a reverse DDT for two; and a somersault senton into the ring from the apron that only gets him a one. Yoshihiro Tajiri however is on fire and uses the handspring back elbow, a hurrancanrana pin off the top rope, a springboard moonsault; and a bridged Dragon suplex to score the pin. Aryan however keeps just escaping as the two men pull out all the stops to put one another away, including Tajiri holding Von Raschke in the illegal Tarantula! The Baron comes in handy, clubbing Tajiri in the back to break the hold and Aryan von Raschke recovers enough to hit an atomic drop which he follows up with a swinging neckbreaker to score a big win here tonight.Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before setting us up for tonight's big Main Event which will see "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan and "Macho Man" Randy Savage, a team once known as The Mega Powers reunite for the first time ever since February 3 1989; almost 7 years ago! And to say that the fans in this here arena are pumped for it would be an understatement! Hogan and Savage who've been feuding since The Hulkster's arrival here in ECW back in September have only recently decided to bury the hatchet in an effort to take down ECW Champion "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango's sinister cabal The Dark Circle after the duo were attacked during their # 1 Contender Match for the Title last month by the group. The lights then go out and voodoo drums sound, mist fills the arena as Papa Shango appears on the ramp with Destruction Inc.! Shango raises the ECW Title high in the air. Gertner: The following Tag-Team contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first weighing a combined 596 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by the ECW Champion Papa Shango; they are the team of Mongo Vyle and Rhino; Destruction Inc.!
Shango and Destruction Inc. take over the ring and Danny Davis looks a bit worried as the ECW Champion does some of his crazy voodoo shenanigans in the ring.
Pomp and Circumstance then hits as "Macho Man" Randy Savage emerges from the back! He's alone and isn't wearing his hat or jacket for once. And stops outside the ring, glaring at the Dark Circle. And then Hulk Hogan's music hits!
Best Hulk Hogan Tribute Real American
And out comes Hogan! Hulkamania is running wild in Louisville, Kentucky! He heads down to the ring and throws his shirt to a fan before standing face to face with Savage. Things look tense, but The Hulkster extends his hand and Randy takes it! The crowd cheers louder and the dup rush down into the ring.Tag-Team Main Event: Hogan & Savage vs. Destruction Inc. Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage slide into the ring and immediately begin brawling with Destruction Inc.! Papa Shango decides discretion is the better part of valor (and big surprise Lanny agrees) and gets his ass and Title out of the ring as the action heats up! Hogan and Savage pound into Mongo Vyle and Rhino respectively before whipping the duo across the ring and dropping them out of the ring with clotheslines! The fans cheer as Randy and Hulk pose for the crowd! Vyle and Rhino are stirring on the outside meanwhile and Randy is talking to Hogan.
As The Hulkster heads toward the ropes, Savage shoots across the ring toward him and uses Hogan's hands as a step as he goes up and over the top rope in a huge suicide dive! He takes both members of Destruction Inc. down to the floor! As all three men recover Hulk Hogan climbs out and helping Mongo up to his feet begins pounding on him at ringside. Randy does the same to Rhino and the two men are enjoying dominating their opponents when Vyle catches Hogan's hand and begins firing back! Rhino does the same and soon The Mega Powers and Destruction Inc. are brawling about ringside.
"The Man-Beast" has Randy Savage up in a bear hug and is squeezing the life out of him while "Macho" battles furiously with several elbows. Freeing himself he staggers back into the ring where Rhino charges him with The Gore striking spear! Randy hits the floor and lifting him up Rhino rolls him into the ring. Okerlund is wondering if the match has even started yet and Lanny says that's his answer when Davis calls for the bell, starting the match as Rhino enters and begins stomping on the former ECW Champ. Hulk Hogan meanwhile has managed to whip Mongo Vyle into the steel steps shattering them and leaves "The Maciavellan Mauler" to collect himself as he heads for his corner.
Inside the ring Rhino has finished stomping the hell out of Savage and lifting him to his feet whips him across the ring! On the rebound however Randy connects with a flying crossbody out of nowhere! He proceeds to pop up to his feet and connect with an elbow drop and locking in a headlock attempts to catch a breather. Rhino is fighting it though and Randy's rest period is temporary as his opponent fights his way up to his feet. He throws several punches to Rhino's gut, but "The Man-Beast" hoists Savage up off the ground and connects with a huge back body drop! He hooks the leg! 1!.. 2! Savage kicks out! Rhino attempts to keep "Macho Man" down with several stomps and kicks; but Randy Savage begins no-selling the punches and is looking crazed as he begins hammering back! The two men trade several punches before Randy catches Rhino in a side headlock and throws him into the ropes! Chasing him in he leaps over the top rope and connects with the hair-pull hangman! Rhino bounces off the ropes hard as the agile Randy Savage hops up onto the apron, then up onto the top rope like a cat and as Rhino gets to his feet he leaps off and connects with the flying clothesline! Savage goes for the cover! 1!.. 2!...
Mongo Vyle runs and dives in with a double axe-handle to make the save! He then pulls Savage up off of Rhino and hits the Mongo Masher full nelson bomb! But now Hulk Hogan is in the ring and he begins hammering on Mongo! Rhino is back up and Hogan is soon trading punches with both members of Destruction Inc.! And he has them back tracking before grabbing them both by the head and slamming them together! Randy is back up and Hogan heads to their corner to make the tag! Destruction Inc. is still inside the ring when he returns and whipping Mongo across the ring he connects with a furious big boot! As Vyle rolls out, Rhino attacks Hogan, but gets treated to a body slam! Hogan is cupping his ear as the crowd cheers him on! He runs the ropes! He's hits the Atomic Leg Drop!
On the canvas! Rhino has rolled out and makes the hot tag to Mongo Vyle! The Hulkster is in pain as Vyle runs over and kicks him in the side! Grabbing Hogan by the head he begins battering him and hoisting Hulk to his feet hits a Samoan Drop! He then runs the ropes and hits a splash! Mongo hooks the leg! 1!... 2!
Hogan kicks free! Vyle puts the boots to Hogan for a bit before picking him up to his knees; but "The Hulkster" slaps him away! And he's shaking his head! Mongo taunts Hogan and punches him in the face! He does it again! But Hogan is just shaking it off! And Vyle is amazed as Hulk Hogan fights his way up to his feet! The arena is coming unglued as Hogan hulks up! Vyle looks like a deer in the headlights as Hogan spins him about and rakes his back! Then grabbing his head he hits a running bulldog! He tags Randy Savage in and signals for "Macho Man" to go up top! Randy Savage climbs the turnbuckle and he goes airborne as Hogan and the fans cheer him on! And the Savage Elbow connects! Then heading back to his corner he tags Hulk Hogan back in! And Hogan signals for the Atomic Leg Drop! He runs the ropes and it connects! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!... 3!
Savage and Hogan have won it! They're celebrating in the ring! And then the lights go out.
Mist fills the arena.
Voodoo drums play.
And when they turn back on the confused audience witness Hogan and Savage getting the holy hell beaten out of them! Papa Shango is leading The Dark Circle in the attack, cackling as he holds the ECW Title over his head! Matt Borne, Pogo the Clown, Destruction Inc.; and even Luna Vachon are all getting themselves some when Shango calls a stop to it and The Dark Circle's newest member heads down the ramp! Borne and Pogo pull "Macho Man" up while Destruction Inc. does the same to Hogan as they yell at the victors. Now inside the ring, the masked man grabs Randy Savage by the throat and hits a brutal chokeslam! Savage is out cold as the huge man wraps his hand about the throat of Hulkamania! Hogan is shaking his head defiantly; but it's no use because up he goes for a chokeslam of his own! The Dark Circle stands victoriously over the bodies of Hogan and Savage as the...
Lights Fade.

1/16/95 - The Market Square Arena Indianapolis, IN"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to The Market Square Arena for ECW's very first show in The Hoosier State; Indiana! They assure us they have some exciting action tonight for the Indianapolis crowd including a monster of a Main Event as the Mega Powers; "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan take on the ECW Champion "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango and his newest minion Brimstone in tag-team action!
They then briefly recap last week's show including the assault by The Four Horsemen on the Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer after their match, which only came to an end when "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson seemingly butted heads with the Horsemen's leader "Nature Boy" Ric Flair." Lanny lets out a Woooo! Okerlund tells him to control himself and tells us that he's sure that we'll hear more about that later tonight. They then talk about last week's main event which saw The Mega Powers team defeat former ECW Tag Champs Destruction Inc. when Hulk Hogan pinned "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle. That isn't the end of the story however, because after their victory Hogan and Randy Savage were attacked the ECW Champ Papa Shango's villainous faction The Dark Circle; with their newest member "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone taking out both men with two huge chokeslams!
This of course set up tonight's aforementioned Main Event which will see The Mega Powers collide with Shango and Brimstone! Also on tonight's huge card the ECW Women's Champ Jacqueline Moore will be in action and The Hardy Boyz will face Horsemen Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard; The Brain Busters!Match: Steve Blackman vs. Douglas Williams Steve Blackman and his manager Captain Lou Albano kick things off here tonight in this match officiated by S.D. Jones. "The U.K. Kidd Douglas Williams does more than hold his own with an impressive display of fast-paced dropkicks, a Tornado DDT; and even the Chaos Theory waist-locked backward roll trainsitioned into a bridging German Suplex which would've gotten him the three if not for interference from Albano. After several failed pin attempts including a bridged Fisherman's suplex that Willams impressively kicked out of, one last distraction from Captain Lou had Douglas Williams walk right into a superkick from "The Silent Assassin;" allowing Steve Blackman to pick up the win.Match: Ron Garvin vs. Sexton Hardcastle Though he does manage to get some offense in here, one has to feel a bit bad for Sexton Hardcastle who gets handed a beaten from "The Rugged One" here tonight after Hardcastle tries some of Sex & Violence's trademark "manuevers" on Ron Garvin and just ends up pissing him off. Though he just barely kicks free out of the Garvin Stomp; Sexton Hardcastle falls hard for "The Hands of Stone" knockout punch that nets Ron Garvin the three count from referee Danny Davis. After the match we're brought before the ECW banner where ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels is talking with a cackling "Ring Master" Matt Borne who is with "Mad Dog" Luna Vachon and his buddy Pogo the Clown! Borne isn't talking about himself this week, instead putting over Pogo the Clown as a true monster who'll soon bring the Big Top crashing down on the head of Sir William Regal whose Eastern States Title will soon belong to the Circus of Doom!Weird circus music is playing in the darkened arena as a crazy spotlight pans about the arena settling on The Circus of Doom who've appeared on the ramp.Match: Pogo the Clown vs. Joe E. LegendUnlike his tag-team partner, Joe E. Legend is all business in the ring tonight forgoing his usual in-ring antics as he does his best to take big Pogo the Clown off his feet. As usual Pogo no-sells most of his opponent's offense until a Roaring Elbow strike seems to land home and the big man begins laughing maniacally. The Clown is bleeding from the mouth as he beats the living hell out of Joe E. Legend before Burying Him in the Basement. Jones makes the count and Poffo suggests Regal might want to pack his bags and head back to WCW before his Match with Pogo which we just learned will take place next week!Lanny and Gene welcome us back from the break before reminding us that next week's show will be comin to us live from the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan as ECW starts along it's first tour of the Northern US! It promises to be one hell of a show with the Eastern States Title on the line in the huge Main Event as Sir William Regal defends the Title against the monstrous Pogo the Clown! While tickets for this show are sold out, those folks at home should be sure to tune in right here on Eastern Championship's home station of TNN The Nashville Network to catch all the exciting ECW action live! Before the next match we're shown a video clip of what happened here last week following Tag-Team Champ Tommy Dreamer's surprise pin of "Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Lanny says that "The Innovator" definitely stole that one. The video starts as Barry Windham charges across the ring and lets Dustin have it with a huge dropkick! Finally Ric Flair seems to relent and walks off with Windham in tow, leaving Arn and Tully in the ring talking. [/i] "Mean" Gene and "The Genius" then tell us that was only half the story. Because what we didn't see was what went down in the locker room after the match. We're then taken to a second clip where Ric Flair is tearing apart the Four Horsemen's dressing room! He's pissed and hurling a chair at the floor while ranting about having to deal with these idiots! Barry Windham is trying to calm him down and Flair gets in his face asking if he saw what just happened out there?! That nobody, but nobody disrespects the "Naitch!" And how Arn Anderson just bit the hand that feeds him! The hand that's fed him all these years! And brother, he's gonna pay for it! Because...Just then Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard enter the room and Ric's head looks like it's going to burst. He gets in "The Enforcer's" face asking him just what the hell was he thinking out there? That when he met Arn Anderson, he was a nobody! A nothing! That Ric Flair made "The Enforcer!" That he made the Horsemen and who the hell is he to stop him from doing anything? Anything?! There's a tense moment where Arn looks like he's going to punch Flair, but Tully and Barry keep things in check.
Arn Anderson tells Flair that he's been here for two years. That he acknowledges "The Nature Boy" helped him get where he is today; but what he's accomplished here in ECW. Becoming the Eastern Heavyweight Champion? Well that he accomplished on his own. Through sweat and a whole lotta hard work. And the respect the guys in the back have for him here? He earned that too. And he's not gonna watch Flair piss it away. Now he knows they did things differently back in NWA and the WCW. The Horsemen took no prisoners there. They ended careers. But Arn would like to think of himself as older and a bit wiser now. Things aren't the way they used to be. They don't need to injure Tommy Dreamer to make a statement. They can do that by going out there and being the toughest sonnovabitches in this business. By winning Titles. And right now that takes precedence. Championship Gold. Him and Tully can't win the Titles off of dead men. So they need Dreamer and Rhodes just healthy enough to get in that ring. And Ric Flair? Why he has some important things to think about. Like winning the ECW Title from "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango. And in order to tackle that can of worms? Well they've gotta be focused. They need to be able to watch their backs. And they don't need anymore enemies that Shango's Dark Circle will already be dealing out. Understood?
Flair's eyes light up when Anderson starts talking about the ECW Title. He tells Arn he's got him. He gets it. The Four Horsemen need to be ass-kicking, high flying; and high styling. Wooo! And they need Championship belts all around. He can dig that Arn. Because the one thing "The Nature Boy" won't ever turn down is the dazzle, the sparkle of Championship Gold about his waist where it belongs baby! Woooo! Blanchard and Windham look a bit relieved by this.Match: The Hardy Boyz vs. Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard Matt Hardy starts things out with Tully Blanchard and it's obvious from the bell that there's no love lost between these two groups as Hardy drives Blanchard into the corner with a sudden barrage of punches! Davis breaks it up and the two men lock up with Tully catching Matt in a headlock. Speaking of lost things, Lanny brings up Steve Corino, wondering if he's still under contract here; having not be seen since the Omega Horsemen's loss back at Wrestle Annual. Okerlund isn't sure. The two competitors inside the ring continue fighting back and forth with Tull attempting to get Hardy to tap out with an armbreaker and gets a two count off a sunset flip. Matt Meanwhile has gotten a two count of his own following a springboard diving leg drop on Blanchard. Soon however, the momentum shifts solidly in Tully Blanchard's favor as he works over Matt's right arm and neck attempting to get him submit. Matt Hardy looks to be in some real danger of tapping as Tully really torques his neck in a rear headlock; but with his brother Jeff cheering him on, he mounts a comeback! And taking Tully down with a snapmare, Matt runs the ropes; and comes flying back with a somersault dropkick! Tully goes down hard and Matt makes the tag to Jeff Hardy!
Getting his shot in the ring, Jeff and Matt proceed to hoist Tully to his feet and whip him into the corner where they set in motion the Whisper in the Wind! From there Jeff takes control, hitting a bulldog which he follows up with a springboard moonsault for a two count. Blanchard battles back, but a sitout jawbreaker gets Hardy another two and Jeff is on fire. He lays into Tully, trapping him in the corner where he hands him the fists! 1! 2! 3! 4! Blanchard grabs the young man off the second rope and flattens him with a sitout spinebuster! Making the cover! 1!... 2!... Matt gets Jeff's foot up on the rope which has Arn yelling at him. Blanchard however has recovered and working Jeff over a bit drags him to his corner where he tags in Arn Anderson!
"The Enforcer" directs traffic as he and Tully place Jeff in the Tree of Woe! The two men begin kicking the crap out of Jeff while throwing some mocking glances at Matt who ends up coming in swinging! Double spike piledriver! Matt's head gets flattened and he rolls from the ring while Tully and Arn have a laugh at his expense. The ref meanwhile is getting a bit annoyed at the duo and Tully bows out to their corner. Arn is in control and batters Jeff around for a bit before going for a whip! Jeff hits the corner hard and Arn charges in looking to do some damage; but catches a double knee to the face from Hardy! And as Anderson gets back up he gets helped back down to the canvas with a high-angle Swanton Bomb! This keeps both men down for a bit, but soon they're both back up and Jeff foolishing begins trading punches with Arn who whips Jeff to the ropes! On the rebound he looks for a clothesline, but Jeff ducks it and grabs Arn by the hips! But Arn blocks a suplex circling about struggles with Jeff Hardy a bit before hitting a full nelson bomb! Arn Anderson makes the cover and it's over! Tully and Arn celebrate their victory when...Barry Windham and Ric Flair appear on the ramp and head down to the ring... where they celebrate another win for the Four Horsemen! ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels is in front of the ECW banner talking with The Mega Powers! She asking them about their upcoming match with "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango and... Hulk Hogan is here to tell us little sister, he's here to tell us that back in 1987 when "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan and "The Macho Man" Randy Savage first teamed up; when the Mega-Powers first arrived on the scene and started kicking ass brother; it was electric! It sent shockwaves around the world, yeah. Everyone from San Diego to Tokyo; wherever you went anyone could talk about was the colossal team-up, the titanic alliance of Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage dominating this sport. And now, right here, right now almost ten years later here we are again. The same electricity, the same momentum brother. And what did it take to get there? "The Immortal One" is gonna tell you what it took! The darkest, most despiclable stable in this business. Oh yeah. The Dark Circle. The ECW Champion Papa Shango's little cabal has bitten off more than it can chew brother; because whether it's Matt Borne or that cackling Clown, Rhino or "The Mauler," or even Papa Shango himself they don't stand a chance in Hell of taking down the power, the extreme force to be reckoned with when you take on the team of Hulk Hogan or the "Macho Man" Randy Savage!
Ooooooh yeah! "Macho Man" is gonna admit something here today. Something he ain't too proud of. And that's he had his doubts. He wasn't convinced that he should come and look for the aide of "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan. Dig. That while The Mega Powers may've been an unstoppable force once, that there's been a rift, a dark hole if you will building over the past decade between Hulkamania and Macho Madness! And Savage didn't think he'd see the day, wasn't sure if he wanted to see it; when the two true titans of thise sport came together under one unified cause. But then "The Soul Stealer," that wiley witch doctor Papa Shango had to push him too far. Had to attack him and Hogan again and again. Ruined his shot at the Title. And the "Macho Man" gets it. Yeah. He gets that Papa Shango is running scared, that he's turning tail; cause he knows while "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan and the "Macho Man" have their differences; there's one undoubted commonality between the two brother! And that's when they set there sights on something, they take it! And what they both want? Is the ECW Title! Dig it! But what they want more than that? Oooh, it's to take "The Soul Stealer," take all his little lackeys, take all his little hoodoo hijinks, roll 'em up in a ball and stick 'em up his ass brother! Oooooh Yeah!!!Match: Jacqueline Moore vs. Velvet McIntyre S.D. Jones starts the match and Velvet McIntyre has a good back and forth battle with the ECW Women's Champ Jacqueline Moore whom she drops with a swinging hurrancanrana and running crossbody on seperate occasions before getting a two count using the McIntyre victory Roll. "Miss Texas" has a bit of a problem with putting the veteran Velvet away, getting two counts with a float-over DDT and spear; and only a one off a diving clothesline. In the end however Jacqueline Moore hits Velvet McIntyre with a release German Suplex which puts her down for the three count.Match: Dean Malenko vs. Erin O'Grady "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady comes right after his opponent this evening, giving Dean Malenko some tough compeition with multiple dropkicks and an Irishcanrana. He looks to keep Malenko on his tows with his fast-paced, high flying offense including a bottom rope arm twist toprope chop he breaks out for the first time and the Over the Rainbow diving splash off the top which gets him a two count. Dean Malenko gives as good as he gets however and once he really gets ahold of Erin O'Grady, he manhandles him, wearing him down with a concentrated attack on his legs before locking in the Texas Cloverleaf which has O'Grady tapping out. Davis raises Malenko's hand in victory. We're then taken to an undisclosed location where the villanous Papa Shango is standing over a cauldron with only a harsh red light illuminating him and the masked man who stands silently by as "The Soul Stealer" begins his rant scoffing the so-called Mega Powers! He says that Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage may have held much power and great sway once; but times have changed. That today the powers of The Dark One, Satan's messenger are at full strength. And that by the waning of the moon the demise of both Macho Madness and Hulkamania shall be brought to ruin. That both their candles are flickering out in the cool wind and now darkness shall reign! What started with Shango's winning the Eastern Heavyweight Championship shall be brought to bare as "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango and "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone crush The Mega Powers and hurl their bloodied carcasses into the void! He laughs maniacally and blows a cloud of smoke at the screen as ECW takes it's final...Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the final commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's huge Main Event which will see "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan take on the ECW Champion Papa Shango and his new "Dark Desciple" Brimstone in tag-team action! They talk about the events leading to tonight starting with Shango winning the Eastern Heavyweight Title, then moving on to Hogan and Savage's # 1 contender's Match which was interrupted when the combined forces of The Dark Circle attacked them! They have been a constant thorn in the duo's side since; prompting "Macho Man" and "The Hulkster" to decide and re-unite their tag-team The Mega Powers for the first time in almost ten years! Their first match took place last week when they defeated Shango's minions Destruction Inc. This win however wasn't the end as The Dark Circle once again attacked Hogan and Savage after the match with the aide of Shango's newest minion; "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone! He turned the tide in The Dark Circle's favor last week, brutally chokeslamming both men. Little is known about this mysterious masked man, but he will be seen in action for the first time tonight as he teams with "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango; joining the ECW Champion in Tag-Team action against the colossal force of The Mega Powers!
Pomp and Circumstance then hits as "Macho Man" Randy Savage emerges from the back! He's alone, but this time is wearing his hat and jacket, which he hands to referee Danny Davis after posing for the crowd. Then Hulk Hogan's music hits!
Best Hulk Hogan Tribute Real American
And out comes Hogan! Hulkamania is running wild in Indianapolis, Indiana! He heads down to the ring and ripping off his shirt, throws his shirt to a fan before standing face to face with Savage. They see much more at ease with one another as The Hulkster extends his hand and Randy takes it! The crowd cheers louder as they raise their hands united!
Just then the lights go out and voodoo drums are heard while mist fills the arena. On the ramp through the strobe light can be seen the ECW Champion Papa Shango and the masked man known only as Brimstone! He plods down toward the ring taking his time as Papa Shango does his theatrical voodoo stuff on the way to the ring. Lanny isn't sure which man gives him the creeps more.Tag-Team Main Event:The Mega Powers vs. The Dark Circle After some discussion between Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage; "The Macho Man" starts things off with the ECW Champion! Papa Shango looks for a clothesline early, but Randy ducks it and begins hammering away on the Champ! He has "The Soul Stealer" reeling when he runs the ropes and gets taken down to the mat when this time Shango's clothesline connects! Keeping on top of Savage, Papa catches him in the corner, kick and punching him down to the mat! He then whips Randy hard into the opposing corner and charging in hits "Macho" with a thunderous dropkick as the former Champ staggers out of the corner! He hits the ground and Shango rolls him over, looking to end things early. 1!..
Savage kicks out! Papa Shango pulls Randy to his feet and fights with him as he pulls him toward his corner where he tags in the big man! While "The Soul Stealer" holds Savage, Brimstone lets him have it with a kick to the gut. He hammers on "Macho Man" for a bit before running the Randy's head into the turnbuckle! When he goes to grab Savage however, "Macho" comes alive, runs the ropes...
and tags in Hulk Hogan! Entering the ring, Hogan attempts to stare Brimstone down; but the masked man doesn't budge! Okerlund isn't sure if Brimstone is crazy or just one tough hombre. Lanny is guessing it's probably more than a little of both. After several tense moments, Hogan swings and Brimstone ducks it! Brimstone gets several free shots in on "The Hulkster!" But now Hogan is firing back! The two men trade punches about the ring until Hogan drives Brimstone into the corner! He hammers on him a bit before whipping him across the ring! The masked man hits the corner hard and Hogan runs in only to catch a boots to the face! Brimstone runs the ropes! Short arm clothesline from Hogan; but "The Dark Prophet" ducks it and drops "The Immortal One" with a diving clothesline! And as Hogan gets to his feet Papa Shango climbs in and together they knock him out to the floor with a double clothesline! Savage comes to Hogan's side while The Dark Circle dominate the ring!
Savage pats Hogan on the back and he seems alright. And together the Mega Powers slide into the ring! The Dark Circle attempt to keep the duo down by rushing in with stomps; but Hogan and Savage will not be denied! They begin clobbering The Dark Circle with punches! Hogan begins beating on the ECW Champ while Savage lays into Brimstone! They're birth working them over in opposing corners when at almost the same exact time Shango and Brimstone grab their opponent by the head and throwing them into the corner, turn the tables! This doesn't last long however as Savage and Hogan battle their way out and meeting in the middle of the ring, trade opponents! Battling Papa Shango toward the ropes, Hulk Hogan grabs the ECW Champ and hoisting him into the air hurls him out of the ring! Savage meanwhile is in a bit of trouble as Brimstone gets the drop on him; but Hogan quickly helps and the Mega Powers whip the masked man across the ring! As he nears the ropes, Savage charges in and leaps over the ropes hitting a hairpull hangman on "The Dark Desciple!"
As he crashes into the canvas, Hogan is now back in his corner and out on the apron Randy Savage tags back in. While Brimstone gets back to his feet adjusting his match, agile as a cat "Macho Man" jumps up onto the top rope and going airborne connects with a clothesline! No wait! Brimstone has caught his opponent in mid-air and dropping back hits a release suplex! He then goes to pick Randy back up, but gets an uppercut for his trouble! Hopping to his feet, Savage begins pounding on Brimstone, driving the big man back to his corner where he kicks him a bit before going for a whip! But "The Dark Prophet" reveres and sends Randy into the corner! Savage charges right back however; but only walks into a clothesline from Brimstone! Both men are quick to get back to their feet, but Brimstone traps Randy in an armwrench! Still holding his arm he then looks to be heading up top! Okerlund questions the true identity of this man. But before he can do anything Randy pulls him off the top turnbuckle and lets Brimstone have it with a Samoan Drop! He hooks the leg! 1!... 2!
Brimstone powers out! Before he can get back up to his feet however, Randy tags in to Hulk Hogan who comes in swinging! He begins pounding the masked man's head in and running the ropes, hits the big boot! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!
Brimstone powers out! "The Hulkster" isn't letting up however and grabbing Brimstone up to his knees begins punching a hole in his head! Literally! He breaks his opponent open under the mask and some blood is visible. The big man seems enraged by this and fighting his way to his feet, he throws Hogan into the ropes! And on the rebound he puts Hulkamania down with a Chokeslam! He is unable to make the cover however, instead readjusting his mask, when he seems to give off and pulls it off revealing....Well that's not.... Okerlund and Lanny still don't know who the mystery man is. But he sure is giving The Mega Powers a fight! Wiping the blood away from his head he throws the mask onto Hogan and walking over tags in "The Soul Stealder!" Papa Shango charges in and leapfrogs Hogan as he gets to his feet! On the rebound however the ECW Champ hits a sunset flip! 1!...t
Hogan powers out! Shango proceeds to keep Hogan down for a bit with several punches and a dropkick to the face while he's still down on one knee. Catching "The Immortal" proves to be a mistake for Shango however as he fails in this contest of strength while Hogan begins to Hulk up! The arena comes unglued as Hogan makes the comeback and begins hammering on the ECW Champ! He clobbers Shango back into the ropes and goes for the whip! And the big boot connects! Poffo wonder if Shango even knows what zip code he's in after that kick and Okerlund asks "The Genis" if he does. Lanny quickly responds 46204 and Gene says he'll have to look that up. Hogan meanwhile is celebrating about the ring and cups the ear! He runs the ropes! And the Atomic Leg Drop connects! 1!... 2!...
Shango kicks out! Hogan and the fans can't believe it! Hogan pulls Shango back up to his feet looking to put more of a pounding on him... when he gets hit with a face full of Voodoo Mist! Hogan screams in pain, but referee S.D. Jones is too preoccupied by what's going on on the outside! Savage and Brimstone are brawling! And Papa Shango hits the Voodoo Swing neckbreaker on Hogan! He hooks the leg! 1!... 2!...
Hogan powers out! But "The Immortal One" is in trouble! Shango is stomping and kicking him across the ring! But Hogan seems to have recovered somewhat! "The Soul Stealer" kicks him in the face! But Hogan is shaking his head! He's no-selling it! Shango punches him in the face! Hogan is wagging his finger! And as Papa goes for another kick Hogan grabs him and hits and inverted Atomic Drop! He uses the ropes to get to his feet when Randy Savage makes who's back in their corner makes a blind tag! Hogan looks confused as Randy Savage heads into the ring and hits the staggering Papa Shango with a running bulldog! And then he signals that he's going up top! Hogan is still in the ring when Savage mounts the top turnbuckle and goes airborne! The Savage Elbow connects! Randy hooks the leg as Brimstone comes in to make the save! But it's too late! Randy Savage has pinned the ECW Champ! "Macho Man" celebrates his victoy, but he's quickly taken out by a Chokeslam from Brimstone! The big man attempts to do the same to Hogan, but "The Hulkster" fights his way out of it and the two men are slugging it out as the...

1/23/96 - Cobo Center Detroit, MI"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan for another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling; our first coming to you live from the Wolverine State! They then briefly recap last week's show including The Four Horsemen setting their sites on bigger game, namely the ECW Title and it's current holder "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango and the huge Main Event in which "Macho Man" Randy Savage pinned the ECW Champ in an amazing Tag-Team matchup; at the end of which Savage found himself chokeslammed by The Dark Circle's latest desciple Brimstone! They're sure we'll here more about that here tonight. One thing's for sure though, Okerlund certainly wouldn't want to be in Shango's shoes at the moment. Lanny however says this is nonsense. While being the ECW Champ does put a rather large target on your back, what Okerlund has to remember is that "The Soul Stealer" has the entirety of the Dark Circle behind him! He'd be more concerned about anyone dumb enough to go looking for that sort of trouble. Unless of course it was "The Macho Man" Randy Savage. Then screw him.
Gene says that Lanny is going to get himself into trouble with Savage one of these days with that mouth of his before hyping tonight's big show which is to see the Tag-Team Champions Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes in action as well as the ECW Light Heavyweight Champion Cousin Jamie. Poffo corrects him, calling Jamie the "Double Lightweight Champ" and is certain we'll also be seeing "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert out here tonight. Four Horsemen member Barry Windham will also be in single's competition tonight and in our huge Main Event the Eastern States Championship will be on the line as the Champion Sir William Regal takes on the monstrous madman known as Pogo the Clown!"Pomp and Circumstance" plays and Okerlund tells Lanny he'd better make himself scarce as "Macho Man" Randy Savage emerges from the back with "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs in tow! He heads down to the ring and lets out an "Ooooooh Yeah!" "Macho Man" Randy Savage is in the building. And he's got one thing on his mind. Yeah. And it ain't "The Genius." Ooooh no. Randy Savage has bigger fish to fry. And who he's got on the hook right now? "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango! Cause y'see last week? Last week "Macho Man" went up on that top turnbuckle and he flew brother. And he came crashing down with this very here elbow. Yeah. And he pinned the ECW Champ 1-2-3! And that means only one thing and one thing alone to the "Macho Man." A shot at the Title! Dig it! And he ain't gonna be waiting around. Oh no. Cause he's got his sights set high! He wants the Main Event! The big showdown! And he wants it to be at King of the Mountain! Ooooh Yeah! Cause climbing that mountain? Rising to the top? That's Randy Savage's forte! He headlined the last two. And this February 9th at the St. Paul Civic Center yeah. He's gonna make it 1-2-3! Ooooh Yeah! Savage is grinning ear to ear and shaking his head when Rick Rude's strip theme hits! And out comes the former ECW Champ! He heads down to the ring and orders for them to "Cut the Music." Rick Rude thinks he muse not be hearing right. That maybe last week "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady got lucky and did some permanent damage. Because he swears he just hear this punk Randy Savage say he was looking to steal his Title shot. See, whether Randy Savage or any of these backwoods fans here tonight want to admit it or not; "The Ravishing One" earned his shot at King of the Mountain. Back at Old School Rulez? He pinned Steve Corino in this very ring and became the ECW Champion. Then at Wrestle Annual? Well he got robbed by that nutty numbskull Papa Shango. But that doesn't matter. What matters is he was the Champ at the time and he gets his rematch. That's the rules. And Savage? When was the last time we've seen any gold about his waist? When was the last time he was Champion of anything other than a meat by-product? How long has it been? "418 days!" someone yells out from ringside. Rude chuckles as Savage's eyes bug out more. Rick thanks Lanny before repeating 418 days... That's an awfully longtime. Long enough to start some rumors surely. That "Macho Man" is washed-up. That he's a has-been. That he just doesn't have what it takes to be the Champ anymore. So which is it Randy? Savage gets in Rude's face and the two men begin jawjacking one another when...The lights go out! Voodooo drums play as smoke fills the arena and on the ramp appears the ECW Champion Papa Shango! He has The Dark Circle with him as he heads down to the ring. Rude and Savage hold their ground as they enter. "The Soul Stealer" stares at the duo icily before letting out a voodoo shriek that causes them both to jump a little. Shango calls them spoiled children. Squabbling over his Title. Forgetting one very, very important thing. That whether Randy Savage gets his Title shot or Rick Rude gets his. At King of the Mountain one fact remains. And that is in order to become the ECW Champion they shall have to step in the ring, cross the void; and plunge their very souls into the abyss as they take on "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango! And they should be warned. Because the abyss stares back. It watches them. It judges them. It isn't some foolish Christian God. It is vengeful. It's merciless. And on February 9th, whether it is "Macho Man" or "The Ravishing One" in this ring; the fact remains that Papa Shango shall summon those spirits, capture that fire; and bring it all to bare down upon anyone, ANYONE who gets in his way of the total domination, the complete submission; and the utter obliteration of ECW!!!!All three men stare at one another as Eastern Championship takes it's first...Joel Gertner makes the intros for the first match of the night.Tag-Team Match: Tommy Dreamer & Dustin Rhodes vs. The Hughes Brothers Tommy Dreamer can't seem to catch a break in this non-Title match officiated with Danny Davis. He took a pretty bad beating from Ric Flair two weeks ago and The Hughes Brothers look to capitalize on that with Devon and Spike cutting off the ring as they make several attempts to put Dreamer away with a spinebuster and a snap scoop powerslam getting nearfalls from big Devon while little Spike hits the corner springboard cutter which gets him a near three and a diving foot stomp that gets him a two as they tag in and out. "The Innovator of Violence" does his best to mount a comeback, but keeps getting shut down until he hits a desperation DDT on Spike! Rushing across the ring he makes the tag to Dustin Rhodes!
"The American Nightmare" is on fire and puts a beating on Spike whom he attempts to put away with a vertical suplex, a sitout rear mat slam; and a bionic elbow off the second rope. Spike refuses to quit however and keeps kicking out, much to the frustration of Dustin who makes a mistake and ducks to early after a whip and catches a kick to the jaw from Spike who runs the ropes and hits a sunset flip! 1!... 2!
Rhodes kicks out! And a battered Spike takes Devon in! He treats Dustin to a double dose of 360 degree corkscrew back elbow smashes before hitting a falling powerbomb which gets him a two count. From there Dustin rallies back and the two men battle back and forth with several pin attempts each before Devon Hughes sits Dustin Rhodes up on the top turnbuckle looking for a superplex and gets given a Tornado DDT instead! Rhodes hooks the leg and picks up the win from Danny Davis.Match: Luna Vachon vs. Tiffany Former Women's Champ "Mad Dog" Luna Vachon and Tiffany have an at times brutal back and forth battle with several high spots including a hurrancanrana and handspring back elbow from Tiffany who gets a two count on Luna following the Iconoclasm. Luna gives as good as she gets using powermoves including a sitout powerbomb and gorilla press slam before putting the female luchador away with a flying headbutt. S.D. Jones makes the count. After the break Eastern States Champion Sir William Regal talks in front of the ECW banner to ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels. He says that he's tangled with some of the biggest, baddest men in this business; from Dan Severn to The Blitzkrieg and even that oaf Matt Borne. And he hasn't backed down to anyone. He certainly isn't going to start with Pogo the Clown either. He says that he's beaten more than one costumed goof during his tenure here and tonight he'll have another. Cheerio.Match: Dean Malenko vs. Michelle Starr "Gorgeous" Michelle Starr thinks it's a good idea to flirt with "Mean" Dean Malenko after getting into the ring. Danny Davis starts the match, but Starr gets little offense in as Dean tears him apart and locks him into the Camel Clutch winning the match by Submission."Mean" Gene and Lanny welcome us back from the break before reminding us that next week's show will be coming to us live from The Sears Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. They say that while some tickets are still available, those folks not in the area should be sure to tune in right here on Eastern Championship's home station of TNN The Nashville Network to catch all the exciting ECW action live! They inform us that it'll be one hell of a show where "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin will meet "Macho Man" Randy Savage in the Main Event!
They then send us to the King of the Mountain Control Center where we see someone whose back is to us is seated at a desk. The chair spins about to reveal...ECW President Eric Bischoff! Who else were you expecting? Eric tells us that it's that time of the year again where 30-men will compete in a huge Battle Royal for a shot at the Eastern States Championship! It's ECW's 3rd Annual King of the Mountain Event of course! And what do we know abou it so far? Well for one; it will be held at the St. Paul Civic Center in St. Paul, Minnesota!
Two, Sir William Regal should he still be the Eastern States Champ will defend the Title against the winner of the King of the Mountain Match live on the PPV!
And three, in the night's Main Event "Ravishing" Rick Rude will look to reclaim the ECW Championship from "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango!
Be sure to tune in right here next week for more info on ECW's first PPV of 1996; King of the Mountain! The lights then go out and a weird spotlight shoots about the arena, settling on the ramp while circus music plays. And out from the back appears the Circus of Doom! "The Ring Master" Matt Borne leads Pogo the Clown and Luna Vachon down to the ring.Match: Barry Windham vs. Matt Borne Ric Flair is in Barry Windham's corner for this one which gives S.D. Jones a headache officiates it. This match isn't pretty and devolves into nothing more than a brawl on more than one occasion as the two big men slug it out in the ring. Barr Windham gets the drop on Matt Borne several times, nearly getting the pin with a gutwrench powerbomb, a scoop slam; and a backdrop suplex. Meanwhile on the outside Ric Flair wants no part of Pogo the Clown, waving him off as he harrasses "Naitch" at ringside.
Inside the ring "The Ring Master" has taken control of the match after an eye rake while Windham set him up for a superplex. This led to the Whoopie Cushin seated senton which got Borne a two count. Borne attempts to keep Windham grounded on the mat with several elbow drops, before locking in the Stump Puller single leg inverted Boston Crab! Barry battles out however and the two men battle back and forth for a while longer until Barry Windham drops Matt Borne with a big boot and as the dazed "Ring Master" gets up to his feet; Windham runs the ropes and plowes Borne's head off with a lariat! He makes the cover and picks up the win. Ric Flair then enters to celebrate while Borne rolls to the outside.
The party is cut short however when Matt Borne orders Pogo the Clown into the ring! Ric and Barry stand their ground as the big man approaches; but this distracts them just enough for Borne and Luna Vachon to attack them from behind with steel chairs! "The Nature Boy" goes down on one knee as Barry stumbles forward, but almost as quickly as it happens...Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard have appeared on the ramp! And they're headed down to the ring! Soon an all-out brawl erupts inside the ring and together Arn and Tully whip Pogo into the ropes where Barry Windham takes him over the top with a clothesline! With the monstrous Clown on the outside Ric Flair is stalking Luna Vachon, threatening to "chop" her up! Luna is begging him off and Okerlund doesn't think Ric is serious. But he is! He grabs Luna by the hair and runs her over the top rope and out of the ring! Matt Borne is on the floor after having been dropped by a hard right from Windham and looking up he finds himself in Horsemen country! All four men put the boots to Borne! They're kicking the Hell out of "The Ring Master" when down the ramp comes Papa Shango, Brimstone; and Destruction Inc.! Seeing that they're outnumbered now, the Horsemen exit the ring and they all talk trash with The Dark Circle who enter the ring coming to Borne's aide. Both teams keep their distance, but a brawl could erupt at any minute as ECW goes to...After the break The Baron von Raschke puts over his son Aryan von Raschke as the future of the German people and a true hero for the Republic of Germany to rally behind. He says that through tireless training and conditioning Aryan will one day capture every major Championship in this hellhole of a country we call America!Match: Aryan von Raschke vs. Rob Van Dam Inside the ring Aryan von Raschke is goosestepping about accompanied to a chorus of boos until "Poundcake" by Van Halen hits and on the ramp appears Detroit's hometown hero "Mr. Wednesday Night!" On the ramp he points to his shoulders as the fans chant "Rob! Van! Dam! He heads down to the ring where he locks up with Aryan von Raschke! The action is fierce and fast paced with RVD hitting several kicks before dropping him with a bulldog and going for a springboard moonsault! Aryan however gets his knees up and RVD hits them hard. Back up Aryan hits a DDT and makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Rob kicks out! Aryan keeps on top of his opponent and gets himself in some trouble with Danny Davis when he begins battering Van Dam in the corner. This gives RVD the opening he needs and hopping up onto the turnbuckle he hits a flying crossbody press that gets him a two! A corkscrew leg drop gets him another two! And a Northern Lights Suplex just misses a three! He goes to lift Aryan up but catches an uppercut to the jaw and Aryan tackles him with a Lou Thesz Press! He begins hammering on Rob and pulling him up hits a Side Russian Legsweep for another two count. The two men continue fighting with several more pin attempts until Rob Van Dam levels Aryan vo Raschke with a roundhouse kick to the temple and drags him into the corner to set him up for the 450 degree Splash! And it connects! 1!... 2!...
Aryan's foot is on the rope! But only because Baron Von Raschke put it there! Rob saw it and is arguing with the ref and then with the Baron who calls him a dumb Pollock. This seems to piss RVD off, but he gets grabbed from behind and turns into the Sieg Heil! superkick! Aryan makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
3! Aryan has defeated "Mr. Wednesday Night!" Davis goes to raise his hand, but Aryan smacks it away and exiting the ring gets his hand raised by The Baron instead! The Detroit crowd boos this turn of events and some garbage even gets thrown when they suddenly start cheering again?! Baron von Raschke and Aryan turn just in time to see Rob Van Da crash into them with a plancha dive! All three men spill about the ringside floor, but Rob Van Dam is right back up and rolls The Baron into the ring! Von Raschke is out of it as RVD climbs up top and points to this shoulder as the crowd chants "Rob! Van! Dam!" And he goes airborne! Five-Star Frog Splash connects on The Baron! Aryan by this time back up and yelling in outrage at Van Dam from outside the ring. Rob wants him to bring it, but Aryan just keeps yelling and refuses to come into the ring.Match: Cousin Jamie vs. Douglas Williams The "Double" Lightweight Champs have their little hoedown in the ring while Cotten-Eyed Joe by The Rednex plays. They even get that goof of a ref S.D. Jones in on the action until "God Save the Queen" by The Sex Pistols hits and out from the pack comes "The U.K. Kidd" Douglas Williams! This is a non-Title match, but it doesn't seem that Williams knows that as he pulls out all the stops with a Bombs Away diving knee drop, an inverted Gory Special, a bridging double underhook suplex; and the Chaos Theory waist-lock backward roll transitioned into a bridgin German Suplex! This last one Jamie only escapes thanks to Doug Gilbert distracting the ref (again) on the outside. His Cousin Jamie is of course no slouch in the ring and hits several suplexes himself, a low angle dropkick, a missile dropkick; and a sitout double underhook powerbomb. After an exciting back and forth contest; Doug runs the ropes and gets tripped by Gilbert. Pouncing on his downed opponent, Cousin Jamie locks in a Dragon Sleeper with leg scissors to score the Submission victory. After the match we're brought backstage where we see ECW Champ "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango berating the latest member of The Dark Circle; the man known only as Brimstone about failing him last week! He says that their loss to Randy Savage falls squarely at Brimstone's feet and that The Dark Lord is not pleased. Not at all. He tells Brimstone that he is to make amends. Because if he should fail them again he shall pay most dearly for his transgressions!Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evning before hyping tonight's huge Main Event! They talk about Pogo the Clown's winning streak here at ECW and how nobody's been able to take the titanic clown down. They then talk about Sir William Regal who has been nothing short of a true Champion since winning the Title here at Old School Rulz when he defeated "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg who was also undefeated at the time. They talk about Regal's penchant for "slaying monsters" and wonder if he'll be able to handle Pogo here tonight. They then talk about his history with the Circus of Doom, having defeated the stable's leader Matt Borne at Wrestle Annual. He would go on to battle them several more times with help from Canada's Greatest Athlete "Iron" Mike Sharpe until ECW Champ Papa Shango ended his career. Looking to avenge his friend he faced "The Soul Stealer" one on one last month only to be defeated by Shango. Papa Shango however didn't want a shot at the Eastern States Championship, already holding the World Title. Instead he gave that chance to the monstrous Pogo the Clown and that match will take place right here tonight!
The lights then go out and a spotlight scans about the crowd before falling on the ramp where Matt Borne leads Pogo the Clown along with Luna Vachon to the ring accompanied to circus music.
Gertner: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the Eastern States Championship! Introducing first, straight from the Hartford Circus weighing 455 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by "The Ring Master" Matt Borne and "Mad Dog" Luna Vachon; Pogo the Clown!
Danny Davis looks leery of the Circus of Doom as they enter the ring. Gertner: And now introducing the Eastern States Champion at this time; from Blackpool, England weighing 243 lbs.; he is Sir William Regal!Main Event Eastern States Title Match: William Regal vs. Pogo the Clown Davis starts the match and after a bit of a feeling out process, William Regal comes in at Pogo the Clown swinging! He nails him with several punches, driving him into the ropes before whipping him across the ring. On the rebound however, Pogo clobbers Regal with a huge shoulder block and makes the cover! Sir William is stunned, but gets his shoulder up just before the three. William is up first and begins pounding on the Clown who's up on one knee; but Pogo pushes Regal across the ring and springing to his feet downs the Eastern States Champ with a clothesline! He begins laughing maniacally as he puts the clowns shoes to his opponent, using the top rope for leverage. Davis warns him, but Pogo piefaces him! Davis is pissed, but doesn't throw out the match as Pogo the Clown drags Regal to the corner and climbing up to the second ropes hits a splash! Right onto Regal's knees! The Clown is down, but so is Sir William and Davis begins the count!
Pogo the Clown is back up at six and dragging Regal to his feet runs him face first into the corner! Stumbling out, William gets hoisted up by the Clown who plants him with a Samoan Drop! He makes the cover, but Regal once again kicks out just before the three and the Champ looks like he's in trouble as Pogo continues to batter him about the ring. Lanny says we're looking at a new Champion here tonight. And though he hates to admit it; Okerlund agrees. But Regal begins swinging back! The Champ is still in the fight as the two men begin trading punches back and forth; but Pogo is hitting harder and goes for a whip! On the rebound however Regal connects with a dropkick that sends The Clown stumbling back and using his opponent's own momentum; Regal schoolboy's him! 1!.. 2!
There's no count? Where the hell is Danny Davis?! He's arguing with "The Ring Master" Matt Borne up on the apron, that's where. Sir William begins arguing with the duo and when Regal threatens to bust him in the jaw, Borne hops down. Pogo is only up on all fours as Regal gets back to him and lets him have it with a stiff kick to the face! And as the Clown hits the floor, William Regal locks him in the Regal Stretch arm trap cross-legged STF! He's going to make the monster tap! But Pogo just starts laughing? Regal seems a bit freaked and can barely hold on as Pogo the Clown starts fighting back furiously with elbows and gets up to one knee where he throws Sir William over his shoulder with a snapmare. Regal bounces back up, but finds himself about to be Buried in the Basement!
Regal however slides out, landing behind The Clown and locking his arms partially about the big man's waist hits a gutwrench suplex! He hooks the leg, but once again Davis is nowhere to be found?! Sir William gets back to his feet to find the ref, but this time gets his head knocked off by a clothesline from "The Ring Master!" Regal goes down hard as Matt Borne helps Pogo the Clown to his feet. Regal is dazed and up on one knee clutching at his head. Borne is busy gloating for the booing fans and is to busy to see Regal reaching into his boot. Together Matt Borne and Pogo the Clown hoist Regal up to his feet going for a big double whip...
And William Regal lets Matt Borne have it with the brass knucks! "The Ring Master" hits the ground flat and Pogo has no time to react before he receives a helping of his own! Unlike Borne however, Pogo stands his ground and Regal lets him have it again, this time busting Pogo open. The Clown otherwise no-sells it; but when William hits him again he staggers back and a forth shot takes him down to one knee. The Eastern States Champ is hammering away on the bloodied Clown and connects with a Eurorean uppercut just as Danny Davis calls for the bell! Both members of the Circus of Doom are lying flat as William Regal gets DQed and Pogo the Clown picks up the win. The Eastern States Champ who doesn't seem to give a shit however and holds the brass knuckles up for the cheering fans when...
The lights go out. Voodoo music plays as mist fills the arena. And when the lights come back on The Dark Circle are in the ring! "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango is with Brimstone and Destruction Inc. who're swarming about Regal. Shango's got the mic and he's telling Sir William that The Dark Lord has a message for him. That he's seen the carnage that the man from Black Pool is capable off wreaking. That he's seen the fire within his soul. And he has an offer to an extend. An offer to join the Dark Circle!
William Regal has his Title over his shoulder and is thinking it over. He slides the brass knuckles off his hand and tosses them aside before gesturing for the microphone. He tells Papa Shango that he has a message to send back to the Dark Lord for him. He can tell him to piss off. "The Soul Stealer's eyes bug out of his head and The Dark Circle is all over Regal! They're stomping the hell out of him! And out from the back comes "The U.K. Kidd" Douglas Williams! And right behind him is The Four Horsemen?!The five men begin brawling with The Dark Circle! And Borne and Pogo are back up and joining in the fray! And so is a battered and bloody William Regal!
Lights Fade.

01/30/96 - The Sears Center Hoffman Estates, IL"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to The Sears Center in th Hoffman Estates for Eastern Championship's first show ever in the Prairie State, Illionois! They then briefly recap what happened on last week's show including The Four Horsemen's continued rivalry with the Circus of Doom which resulted in an all out brawl at the end of the program after the C.O.D. savagely attacked the Eastern States Champ William Regal and "Macho Man" Randy Savage trying to nudge his way into the Main Event at King of the Mountain much to the chagrin of former ECW Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude who is set to face the man who beat him for the belt Papa Shango at the event. Okerlund has word that we'll be hearing from ECW President Eric Bischoff tonight regarding this matter. As if in answer to this statement, "White Train" by Tito & Tarantula hits and out from the back swaggers Eric Bischoff! He enters the ring and tells us that as we're all undoubtedly aware, in just two weeks Eastern Championship Wrestling will be hosting it's very first Pay-Per View of 1996; the third annual King of the Mountain event! Now as usual there'll be the huge 30-Man over the top Battle Royal! The winner of which will go on to face the Eastern States Champ Sir William Regal for the Title that very night! And in the Main Event? The ECW Champ "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango will face off against "The Ravishing One" himself; Rick Rude!
Now he's heard "Macho Man's" request last week. And he's heard the fan's reactions to it. They want it to happen. Papa Shango versus Rick Rude versus... Randy Savage in a Triple Threat for the Title! And Savage has a point. He did pin the Champ. He is owed a Title shot. However, the question is when. Obviously just giving Randy what he wants wouldn't be fair to the Champion who'd have to face not one, but two men to retain his Title. And quite frankly it wouldn't be fair to the Challenger Rick Rude either. But he knows the fans want to see it. And hell he wants to see it. So to that end he's come up with an idea that will give Savage and Rude a fair chance to get what they want. And that idea is that next week "The Ravishing One" and "The Macho Man" will go one on one. If Savage wins, he gets his wish the World Title match at KotM '96 becomes a Triple Threat! But if Rude wins? Well then Randy is going to lose that Title shot of his! So be sure to join us next week to see the fates of both men decided! And of course in two weeks on February 9th be sure and call you local cable provider to order the King of the Mountain PPV for just $14.95!
Okerlund calls Bischoff a shill while Joel Gertner makes the intros for the first match of the night.Tag-Team Match: Hughes Brothers vs. Circus of Doom The Hughes Brothers have their work cut out for them here as the Circus of Doom have been on a rampage of late. S.D. Jones starts the match as "The Ring Master" Matt Borne starts things off with little Spike Hughes whom he taunts into the ring. The second Spike comes after him however, Borne backtracks and tags in Pogo the Clown whom he slaps across the face?! The big man seems unphased, but begins laughing maniacally as he launches into the ring and begins battering a stunned Spike Hughes! Devon Hughes is quick to come to the rescue, but Pogo no-sells a clothesline and when Devon spins about coming in for another, the Clown decapitates him with one of his own! Devon hits the canvas hard and rolls out to the floor while Pogo the Clown hoists Spike Hughes into the air and Buries Him in the Basement for the three count!
The Circus of Doom celebrate their win as ECW goes to it's first...Back from the break we're down in the dimly lit boiler room?! The entire Dark Circle including the Circus of Doom are there as "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango is berating his minions, calling Borne's beatdown by the Four Horsemen a disgrace. That it made him look weak. That it made The Dark Circle seem frail. And (somehow) the blame for this mortal error falls at the feet of the man known as Brimstone! The big man looks angered at this, but remains silent while Papa Shango tells him he has his hands full with the likes of Rick Rude and Randy Savage; two men he'll be dealing with soon enough. And that he doesn't care how he does it; but Brimstone is to take out those four fossils; The Four Horsemen! Brimstone says he'll "Take care of it." And exits as Shango looks on menacingly.Match: Jacqueline Moore vs. Brandi Wine Young Brandi Wine holds her own against the ECW Women's Champ Jacqueline Moore; but after dropping her opponent with a spinning heel kick halfway through the match "Miss Texas" takes over, dominating Brandi until she score the pin from Danny Davis with a bridged German Suplex.Match: Butch Reed vs. Doug Gilbert "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert comes to the ring with his tag-team partner and "Co-Lightweight Champ" Cousin Jamie. The two men show off their belt together before N.W.A.'s "Straight Outta Compton" hits and out comes Butch Reed and his manager The Reverend Slick! Jones starts the match and Gilbert does well early on, using his speed to keep his distance from Butch Reed using a hit and run tactic. Midway through the match Cousin Jamie manages to piss Reed off enough that he leans over the ropes and begins yelling at him only to get nailed with a hairpull hangman from the Lightweight Champ! Doug capitalizes with a roll up, but only gets a near three by the time "Hacksaw" kicks free! And now he's pissed. He beats the shit out of Doug Gilbert, clobbering him with several powermoves before whipping him into the ropes and nailing him with a clothesline for the win. After the match he heads after Cousin Jamie, who proves to be the smarter half of the Bayou Boys today as he escapes to the back. After the match we're taken backstage where ECW President Eric Bischoff approaches Beulah McGillicutty. Just then Cousin Jamie runs past and the two watch him head down the hall. Eric shrugs and tells Beulah that he wanted to tell her that she's going to get that Title shot she requested; that next week she'll be facing "Miss Texas" Jacqueline Moore for the Women's Championship! McGillicutty seems pleased with the news."Mean" Gene and Lanny welcome us back from the break before reminding us that next week's show will be coming to us live from The Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and that "Macho Man" Randy Savage will be facing "Ravishing" Rick Rude in the Main Event! They say that while tickets for ECW's first show in the state are long sold out; those folks left at home should tune in right here on Eastern Championship's home station TNN The Nashville Network to catch all the action live!Rick Rude's strip theme then hits and out from the back swaggers the former ECW Champ "Ravishing" Rick Rude who orders the music be cut. He then tells us that he's not happy with Eric Bischoff's little idea. That it seems something befitting of someone with an IQ low enough that they'd be living someplace like Illinois. Rude then tells the fans that he doesn't care if they boo or cheer, because just like the stripulations in next week's match there isn't anything in it for him. But that's fine. Because he's face the "Macho Hump" before. He's pinned him before. And Randy has no idea what he's getting himself into. Because next week he's facing an all-new Rick Rude. That the impossible has been made possible, cause he's gone and improved on perfection. Now... speaking of stripulations, which one of you Mary Todds out there is gonna remove my robe?Thankfully the woman he selects doesn't look like Mary Todd Lincoln and once she removes his robe, Rude sweeps her into his arms and treats her to a "Rude Awakening." She looks suitably stunned just before "Poundcake" by Van Halen hits and out comes...Match: Rick Rude vs. Rob Van Dam Rob... Van... Dam! looks just as cocky as usual considering he lost a match last week. He points to his shoulders as he heads down to the ring and once inside mockingly gives the Rude dance. In retort Rick Rude points to his shoulders and rolls his eyes. Danny Davis starts the match and the two men lock up. The action is fast-paced as the two men punish one another as the battle back and forth. Rob hits Rude with a fireman's carry slam followed by a springboard moonsault for a near three while Rick hits a delayed back breaker for the same. A spinning heel kick from Van Dam, a DDT from "Ravishing," a gullotine legdrop off the second rope from RVD; and a spike piledriver from Rick Rude on "Mr. Wednesday Night!" Rude makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Van Dam kicks out just before the three! Rick Rude can't seem to believe it. And the crowd are on their feet. Rick Rude is in control and hammering Rob about the ring and trapping him in the corner hits several knee strikes. RVD is in trouble when he has a sudden second wind and grabbing Rude spins out of the corner and throws him with a monkey flip! Rick crashes into the canvas and like a cat Rob Van Dam hoists himself up top! Five star Frog Splash! And it connects!! Right into Rick Rude's knees?!! Rob rolls around kicking his feet in pain as the former Champ gets to his feet. He grabs Ron by his hair and bringing him to his knees lets him have it with several punches to the face before Davis breaks it up. Rick Rude is right back on his opponent however and hoisting him into the air locks in the overhead gutwrench backbreaker rack! Rob is screaming in pain! He's fighting it! But there's nowhere to go and he gives up the match. Rude has won by Submission! Rick drops Rob down to the mat and leaves him on his hands and knees as he gets his hand raised in victory. Just then however...Papa Shango hits the ring! And spinning Rude about "The Soul Stealer" kicks him in the gut and hits a swinging neckbreaker!! The ECW Champ has just laid out his Challenger at King of the Mountain!!We're shown after the break the continuation of ECW Champ Papa Shango's attack on Rick Rude who he stomps out a bit before climbing on top of him and hammers "Ravishing" in the face until he busts him open! He continues the assault for a bit before Rick Rude manages to fight his way out from under Shango and slides out of the ring where he threatens the Champ as blood streams down his face. "The Soul Stealer" meanwhile does his voodoo mumbo jumbo in the ring while howling and yelling as Rude.Match: Christian Cage vs. Reckless Youth Christian Cage and Reckless Youth have a nice back and forth bout with several pin attempts by both men until Christian hits the Unprettier inverted double underhook facebuster and picks up the win from S.D. Jones. After the match we briefly see the man known as Brimstone in conference with... ECW President Eric Bischoff?! ECW Corrsepondent Terri Runnels is in front of the ECW banner standing by with Baron Von Raschke and his protegee, his son Aryan who he puts over as not only the next ECW Light Heavyweight Champ, but one day the man who will bring the Eastern Heavyweight Champ home to the Republic of Germany! He says that Aryan has been cutting his way through the roster and that his win over that Pollock Rob Van Dam last week is but the very first step in the rise of the Aryan Nation!Match: Aryan von Raschke vs. Buck Zumhoff While Okerlund and Poffo hate these guys, they have to admit that The Baron is right. Aryan has been quite impressive of late and he's no different here as he takes on fan favorite "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff who gives him a fight, nearly scoring the win using his "Rocking 'N Rolling" springboard DDT. After several failed attempts to put Buck Zumhoff away however, Aryan von Raschke puts him out for the three count from Davis with a jumping tombstone piledriver.Okerlund and Poffo welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening in which "Macho Man" Randy Savage is set to face off against "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin. "Mean Gene" puts over both men strongly, but Poffo just wants to see Miss Atlanta Lively put the "Macho Chump" in a world of hurt. Just then "Pomp and Circumstance" hits!
Gertner: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Sarasota, Florida weighing 237 lbs. and accompanied to the ring by "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs; he is the "Macho Man" Randy Savage!
Savage heads down to the ring and poses for the crowd before handing over his hat and jacket to Debbie. S.D. Jones checks him for foreign objects.
Gertner: And introducing his opponent this evening, hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Canada weighing in at 231 lbs.; he is "The Rugged One" Ronnie Garvin!Main Event: Randy Savage vs. Ronnie Garvin Okerlund talks about Garvin's attempts to capture the ECW Title last year and is sure that's on his mind here tonight. A win against Savage could definitely put him on the fast track to a shot at Shango. And "The Rugged One" brings his A game to the ring as him and "Macho Man" slug it out. The two men mostly brawl early on with Randy picking up two counts off a flying crossbody off a whip and a scoop slam. Garvin is no slouch and gets a two of his own off an atomic drop/running bulldog combo and later traps him in the figure four! Savage is gritting his teeth in pain as he claws his way across the canvas...
And makes it to the ropes! Pissed, Ronnie treats "Macho" to a healthy helping of Garvin Stomp much to the delight of "The Genius." Garvin is in full control for a bit, but Savage fights his way out of a rear chinlock and mounts a comeback, just getting a one off of a lariat takedown. The two men continue to battle back and forth with the action spilling to the outside where Savage hits the double axe handle off the apron. Ron is in trouble for a bit, but quickly gains control when he whips Randy into the steel barricade! He uses the steel, bashing Randy's head into it several times before rolling back into the ring himself. Garvin is looking tired as he is slow to get up, lying on his back catching his breath. After several seconds he gets back to his feet, but Randy Savage is already back up on the apron and leaping up to the top rope springboard clotheslines Garvin right back onto his ass before signaling for the Savage Elbow! The fans cheer while Poffo hisses his displeasure at ringside. Randy however climbs up top and goes air...
The lights go out! And when they come back on the ECW Champ Papa Shango is in the ring shaking the ropes so Randy crotches himself! And he isn't alone! Destruction Inc. is with him and climbing into the corner they double superplex "Macho Man" into the canvas!! The whole ring shakes as Shango cackles maniacally and S.D. Jones throws out the match! Meanwhile Ronnie Garvin is back up and he's pissed! He grabs "The Soul Stealer," but as he turns the Champ; Shango lets go a face full of Voodoo Mist!! Garvin screams in pain and clutches his face falling back into the ropes and out of the ring while Destruction Inc. continue to pound on Randy Savage whom they've pulled up to his knees! Randy is groggy and bleeding as Papa Shango grabs his cauldron and begins glaring at Savage in delight! He's going to pour the black fluid into Savage's mouth!! Okerlund thinks he's going to be sick and says someone should do something about this.
But no one comes. And Shango begins to pour! But Randy Savage manages to free one of his arms and lowblows Shango! "The Soul Stealer" howls in pain dropping the cauldron as "Macho Man" scrambles forward away from Destruction Inc. and rolls out of the ring to safety. He heads up the ramp as Destruction Inc. checks on their boss who is going berserk inside the ring. He and Savage do alot of pointing and yelling at one another as the...
Lights Fade.
